Located in Shoreline Village and very convenient walk on the overpass if you are staying at the Hyatt. Fun atmosphere, good chips and salsa, the margaritas are big and delicious. Their carne asada is a must and I had the combination with garlic shrimp. A friend had the fajitas and loved them as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and sitting out on the patio on a pretty day a must. If you are driving, the parking is paid, but most restaurants will validate so your fee is lowered.
Snuck in a brunch outside before it got hot. It is a nice water front location. We got there at 11 when they opened and didn't have to wait to be seated. They have a lunch menu for smaller portions. I got the green cheese enchilada from there. It was delicious. The green sauce was so flavorful. I loved the black beans and the cheese on them. They have a paid parking lot. Don't forget to get your ticket validated to get a discount on parking.

I used my cutlery to signal my opinion of the meal. Drinks: (Score: 5) We ordered 3 micheladas, and the black pepper flavor was very strong.
Went here for lunch on Grand Prix Friday. 04.17.2026 I was surprised how fast we were able to get seated! Greeted and seated. Chips and Salsa were served. It was busy because of the large crowds. We waited for our waiter to come back so we can order some drinks. Once he came back we ordered our drinks which we waited another good 15 minutes for him to return with our drinks. The time line was too long of a wait. He left again, waited another 15 minutes to take our food order. Lol. Ordered my shrimp cocktail along with other entrees. Our waiter was ghosting us every 15 minutes. Overall, the ambiance was busy. It is expected because of the grandprix event. This place needs to up their staffing when events like this is taking place. Food was good but service was dissapointing.
Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat the atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.
The service was good, it was pretty empty but at first it seems like you're going to get good Mexican food with some good margaritas or cocktails. It was very plain flavor food. Even the guacamole has no lemon, spices, or salt. The chips were crunchy and good but had no salsa that went well with it. The resturant might need new recipes or a new chef. No cocktails and margaritas could be better
On this busy Friday night when we arrived we were seated right away. Our table was along the edge of the walking path with a picture perfect view of the marina. The staff was friendly and attentive. The drinks we ordered arrived ice cold and delicious. The food was cooked to perfection. For an authentic meal, this place is definitely worth trying. They offer indoor and outdoor patio seating that can accommodate small to large groups. Give them a try.
Happy hour prices + view of the marina are fantastic. We've only gone during happy hour because we just love the outdoor patio & the prices. No wait at 5pm on a Thursday. Patio: covered on top with heaters. They pull down additional side covers along the patio when it's super windy, so sitting outside is still very comfortable no matter the weather. Inside: dim and moody lighting. Food: 4 fish tacos, chips/salsa (so fresh & crispy), taquitos, pulled pork sliders (skip), michelada and marg for $40. Service: good. Food comes out fast. Definitely recommend for casual fare with great views!
The service was friendly as always and the food was delicious. I'm glad that this place has stayed consistently good. Food came out hot and everything had lots of flavor. The cilantro lime salad had jumbo shrimp. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes.
We've been coming to Tequila Jack's for years, and my father-in-law has been a weekly regular for even longer. Because of that, it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review. The margaritas are excellent, which is honestly what has kept us coming back despite repeated negative interactions with the same hostess lady over the years. This isn't based on a single visit. In 2022 after our daughter suffered a stroke as an infant, we would occasionally bring her in a stroller and simply ask for a table where we wouldn't be blocking walkways or inconveniencing other guests. Even then, we were consistently met with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by asking for a simple accommodation. Most recently, on April 24th, my husband and I came in for a date night. We were told an estimated wait time and received a text when our table was ready, but we missed the notification and checked back in about 10-15 minutes later. We completely understood that our original table had been given away. We were then seated at a table we weren't comfortable with and politely asked if we could wait for another option. We made it clear we were willing to wait. Instead of being treated courteously, we were met with eye-rolling, dismissive responses, and a tone that made us feel unwelcome. When I later asked if there was an estimate on the wait, I was again met with a curt response that felt unnecessarily hostile by the same hostess. At that point, we decided to leave. What disappointed me most wasn't the wait or the table assignment. Restaurants get busy, and we understand that. It was the feeling that, after years of visiting this establishment, we were treated like an annoyance rather than valued customers by the same hostess lady. One would hope that being married to a manager would inspire higher standards of customer service, not the impression that basic professionalism is optional in the hospitality industry. Great margaritas bring people in. Consistently good customer service is what keeps them coming back.
Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait, with plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The menu offers a wide variety of drinks and dishes. It leans heavily toward Mexican food but also includes some American options like burgers and buffalo wings. I ordered a combination plate, which comes with 2-3 items of your choice, rice and beans, and Mexican corn pudding. I chose the pork tamales and taquitos. The pork tamales were pretty good, but the taquitos were bland and I didn't end up finishing them. The sides were decent overall, and the Mexican corn pudding was my favorite part of the meal. We also got unlimited chips and dip, which was a nice bonus. For drinks, I ordered the "Scooby Snack," a cocktail made with rum, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, and whipped cream. It came in a huge cup and was a great value for the price. It tasted good too. Overall, it's a solid spot for food and drinks, and they even offer happy hour, which makes it worth checking out.
I'm sorry to give a poor review because tequila Jack's has often been a nice standby when I am in Long Beach. The location is excellent as it is right on Shoreline Drive in the middle of the village. You can sit outside and have a view of the water, which is always delightful. I believe most people come here because of the location and not necessarily the food and drinks. But I make it a habit to go on Tuesdays because they have an excellent deal on taco Tuesdays. Tacos are only $1.50, an excellent deal. In the past, I have had delicious vegetarian tacos. I was a little disappointed when I saw that those were no longer on the menu. I ordered the fish tacos, and I must say I was disappointed. The quality seemed to be much worse than what I remembered in the past. You might be thinking that should be expected for the price and you might be right. The service was very poor. I could never find my server and after an extended period of trying to catch anyone's eye, I chose to walk up to the hostess and ask them to send over my server. In fairness to them, it was an extremely busy evening . It was taco Tuesday after all. But I do not think I will be returning anytime soon after my experience yesterday.
This is somewhat a staples here in Shoreline Village. The very first time I've been was only by default. We were next door for happy hour which the wait time was extortionate and decided about this place. Fast forward many many years later and here we are. Shoreline village is a cute little waterfront that offers some dining options, loads of tourist traps with the shops and a just a cute overall little waterfront. Happy hour was happening and we didn't, well couldn't decided on where we wanted to go. Started off with looking at the menus at what places were offering them and then we ended up back here. Selling point, the nice waterfront seating that looks out to the marina. It was noted to check in at the front desk since we walked in from the back but was told to have a seat anywhere we like. Majority of everyone was on the patio enjoying the sun. We got a couple seating along the hi top looking out to the marina. Menus was brought out first but did notice chips and salsas were brought out as well. It did take a while for ours to arrive. Let me say, the salsa was nice with that little kick to each bite. And it was bottomless which is also a plus. You don't get that at most places nowadays. It did take a little while to order as it seemed like the waiter was taking everyone's orders both at the bar section and patio. We only wanted a drink and maybe some small bites. For the price, it was good. House margaritas on the rocks was 8.00. Pre mixed already but it was quite nice. Food wise, the taquitos (3) with guacamole and some chicken strips. Lol, totally not your mix with margaritas but it sounded good...lol... Bar food bites with our drink. Taquitos, they were a bit too hard. Had to take it apart to enjoy it. The beef was tasty at least and perfect with the salsas. Chicken strips, basic so you can't go wrong. Unless you can and it's a total mess on your part for ordering it. We did want another drink which took a very long time to come. Seemed like the waiter forgot as he was now making drinks behind the bar. After waiting and seeing other people get their drinks before us, I had to walk up to the counter to remind him again. It was nice along the patio seating but they did come to drop the curtains which the whole point was enjoying the sun and the view. Didn't ask if we wanted it drop or not but instead just did it. Had to asked them if they could raise it a little so we can still see out. The drinks were nice. Food was somewhat whatever for 6.00 an item, can't beat that. I believe there were about 6/7 items for bites. Overalls, drinks and the ambiance was nice. People watching was great as your literally along the boardwalk. Service, it was hectic during happy hours. Nice at the start when we walked in but hectic toward the end. I don't think I've ever had a meal here besides a quick stop for happy hour which has alway been good. Tip, make sure to validate as it's 2 hr free parking. We forgot and just thought it was automatic 2 hrs free which came up to 10.00 for parking when we left. That was just a little past the free 2 hrs.

This place is my absolute favorite happy hour spot! The happy hour food AND drinks menu is amazing with amazing prices to match. The atmosphere is always a vibe especially if you're sitting in the bar area for any games. 10/10 recommend! read more

Came in during busy evening on a Tuesday at About 6pm and I was solo. Was greeted immediately with kindness by hostess. She didn't mind seating me anywhere even though it was busy. Lalo my server came to me right away with a smile . Took my order and checked on me several times during my dinner. No attitude, no being annoyed because I was by myself which I've experienced many other times in other places. He was great. When I was walking out I asked to speak to manager to let him know that Lalo was great and I appreciated that. Well the manager was sweeping and cleaning an area . To me that speaks volumes about their staff. I told the manager about Lalo and thank him. Service was perfect. Thank you. read more

So yummy! You can tell that whoever owns this restaurant has a love for food and quality. Everything we ordered was so good! The chicken wing as an appetizer was perfectly cooked and not too spicy. Highly recommend. I got the shrimp enchiladas with a green sauce, so so good! We sat outside and the view of the boats was so nice. The service from the moment you walk in is so friendly and inviting. First time trying this place. What drew us in was the location since it is right on shoreline village close to where we just finished riding bikes. Ambiance 4/5: we were seated outside. The view was beautiful. You get to people watch the people passing by and see the boats on the water. Service 5/5: Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and checked on us frequently. Food: 3/10. I got the crunchy beef tacos meal with refried beans and corn cake. The beef tacos had very little meat and the meat was dry. The corn cake had good flavor but also tasted drier than what I am used to. Beans were creamy but did not have much flavor. Mini burgers from the happy hour menu were also OK. read more

My first time here and it was so cute inside, next time I want to sit outside. Music was festive and not too loud. Our server was soo nice I don't remember his name but shoutout him! I didn't think of asking if chicken as a substitute but the beef was not it for me personally. And the top of the beans had way too much grease on it I don't know what that was about. The Pike is known for having a hefty sum of the Greater LA area's waterfront restaurants. And being in the area on a Monday evening around 5:30PM, myself and a plus one found Tequila Jack's in the enclaves of boats and piers. Feeling hungry, we made our way inside to try it out. walking into the restaurant, the hostess at the front asked if we would like to sit inside or outside. Although it was mentioned that the seats outside did not have heaters, we still opted to sit outside anyway....only to find that the outdoor section was covered and was about as warm as the inside itself. We came in at just the perfect time for dinner as the server let us know that the restaurant has a happy hour special that goes from 3PM to 6PM. During this time, certain appetizers and drinks were discounted. Taking advantage of the happy hour, I decided to order the Happy Hour Buffalo Wings ($6) and a regular Salmon plate ($24) to go with it. Even though it was dark out by the time we sat down, the environment both inside and outside the restaurant screamed LIVELY with string lights, blue ambient lighting, and unique decor that were inspired by a mix of Hispanic cultures. Because of this, it made the eating environment that much more enjoyable. Taking a look at the chicken wings first, the portion came with 4 wings, a small side of sliced vegetables, and some ranch dressing. And for the price, it wasn't bad. There are many places that easily charge 20 dollars for 8 pieces of wings, so it was reasonable. Each wing had a large amount of meat on it as well which also helped justify the price. For last, I noticed the generous amount of ranch dressing. A part of me wished I had more wings to dip into the dressing, but they did not cheap out on the sauce. As for the salmon plate, the portion was also good! In addition to a thick salmon fillet, the dish also came with a slice of lemon, serving of rice, corn pudding, papaya pineapple salsa; and sauteed onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and broccoli. For 24 dollars, it was surprising that there was such a portion of items for the price. And after leaving the restaurant, I was pretty close to full after considering both items ordered. The total for both was about $30 dollars which can lean on the more pricey side. But again, you have to factor in that this is a waterfront restaurant on the coast of Long Beach. On taste, each of the items were actually good overall! The buffalo sauce on the wings was given in just a perfect amount for it was rich with spice but wasn't messy. And dipping into the light and creamy ranch, the wings became very vibrant. Of anything to say, the meat was moist which made them very delicious. In terms of the salmon plate, the salmon pretty good and everything else was great. Trying the vegetables first, the onions were light, were void of sour moisture, and had substance which made them go well with the fish. The mushrooms and broccoli had a similar salted taste which also helped hold down the dish. The bell pepper had a somewhat sour taste to it, but it was little to nonexistent and added a somewhat rough texture in. Eating the pineapple and papaya salsa next, the sweetness gave some merit to the fish, especially with the addition of the lemon on top. I would definitely leave it on the side instead of placing it on the main dish though. And last but not least, the fish was fresh, moist, and broke apart very easily! The salmon skin on the bottom was made crispy and made for a dry contrast to the soft fish. These said though, the salmon was under seasoned and required a lot more salt and pepper to bring out the hidden flavors. After seasoning with the table condiments, it tasted better! But it tasted like little to nothing without it. If coming to Tequila Jack's, I would imagine most would be looking to try their tacos, enchiladas, and other specialties. But from the items I had, it was actually really good food! The environment was lively, the view was spectacular, the dining spaces were very spacious, and the service was on point. The prices for portion were good overall, but I would emphasize that this was because I came right as happy hour was ending. As for the flavors, the chicken wings were prepared very well and the salmon plate had a variety of items included with it. If looking for a good spot on the waterfront to have a meal, Tequila Jack's has something good going on here! Will definitely be back with a high 4 star rating! read more

This restaurant was recommended to me by one of my nursing colleagues. Upon entrance, the whole set up is clean and respectful with quick response time from the waiters. The food and drink choices are amazing with great options. The whole setting next to the water, especially in the evening helps brighten up the ambiance even more. read more
Came back here on a Sunday for lunch with my dog. I had the Carne Asada Burrito with Verde Sauce and a Cadillac Margarita. The burrito was flavorful, packed with carne asada, and absolutely delicious. The service was also excellent, our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, even bringing my dog a treat and a glass of water! Tequila Jack's was very crowded on a Wednesday night. It appears to be a popular spot for the locals and tourists alike. That's OK though because the restaurant is large with ample seating for big groups. They also have a large outdoor seating area. You really can't beat the views. We were seated fairly quickly. I really enjoyed the blue lighting and artwork within the restaurant and outdoors. Our meals were served quickly. Our waiter provided top-notch service and checked on us several times throughout the meal, never forget forgetting to refill our drinks. The food was really good. We all enjoyed our dishes and there were four of us. I can't forget to mention the chips and salsa! We really enjoyed that and went through a few baskets. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a place to try if you're in Long Beach. However, don't go here if you're looking for a quiet dinner where you can really have a deep conversation. I work for a senior living community and I brought my residents here on an outing and they were just amazing! Their customer service was great! They accommodated my residents that had wheelchairs and walkers. They were so patient with the seniors ( they each paid for their own meals so separate checks) there were 10 of us! Today my wife and I we decided to spend little time together with our son's and we didn't know what to eat so i went to map to find what to eat it came out Tequila Jack's so we come to eat here the food was delicious better then Javier and Frida definitely I will come back the only thing i will suggest it's the platting ned little more attention I'm a chef that's why i said it overall all good. Had a pretty good experience at this establishment. The hubster and I ordered appetizers before dinner. Often times we order appetizers then a meal and it ends up being too much food. Anyway we had chicken wings and potato skins they were honestly just average, nothing to write home to Mom about. However, the drinks were amazing, had the house margaritas and they were Amazing. I would recommend this place for drinks, the food was just average. read more

Had the shrimp burrito... it definitely did not have grilled shrimp... was more like boiled shrimp, no flavor at all... there wasn't any "thing layer of beans" inside either... just the boiled shrimp, onions (that were not grilled either) and the crema... it lacked in flavor, even with the sauce it came with! I wish I took a photo of the inside but I couldn't even eat it... gave it to my bf who felt the same way but doesn't like to waste food... it was just disappointing... also had the pina colada, it was good but tasted more like a virgin drink... read more

Ambiance wasn't particularly unique, but was very comfortable with a hybrid indoor/outdoor setup We went during happy hour, fajitas can easily feed 2 people, the table chips and salsa were fantastic, the only gripe I have is I wish the fish taco had a cream sauce, it only had a dry slaw, but all the food we got was more than good read more

I came here shortly after arriving into town. I was hungry and found this place on Yelp! They have a lunch menu and I ordered from that menu. I ordered the Chorizo con Huevos, and the chips and salsa were complimentary. The salsa was spicy, and I love spicy food! The chorizo was dry and had a burnt taste to it. The rice was a bit bland and needed more flavoring. I was hungry, and didn't want to send it back. The service was good and the ambiance was excellent! Our server made sure I had everything I needed, and the restaurant overlooks the boats in the marina. I would try to come back and check out another dish when I am in the area next time! read more

Food was great, service was awesome. The staff was very accommodating especially Angel, our server. Only thing is it's too loud and noisy inside. I would recommend their Mahi mahi, cajun style. The mahi mahi tastes fresh without the fishy flavor, and it comes with a side of veggies. I think their Cajun sauce needs a little bit more spice and flavor but that's probably just me being more accustomed to spicy food. It's worth coming back to try their other dishes. read more

Today, one of my favorite Dr's was scheduled to work with us at my facility. We had a good day in clinic and decided to meet up after work for dinner. Our choices were steak in Anaheim or Tequila Jack's. I checked out the menu here and craved the chicken enchiladas de Mole. I worked an appetite after a 12 hour shift with work, so I was excited and ready to eat something delicious. Driving through the rain, finally got here, my Dr had the table ready and I was ready to order. The wait was nothing, surprise. The place was crowded, its downtown Long Beach. It's expected. Anyway, Chips were okay... salsa was okay. I ordered water and the chicken enchiladas de mole. Traditionally, mole is between spicy and sweet or more mildly spicy. But this plate came and the food was too sweet. I did not like that. Of course I ate them, I didn't want to make a big deal with my doc there. They come with beans, but I pass on that. Substitute the beans for rice. I'm giving this experience a one star. Just because the food. We come for the food. The service adds up but the food has to be good. I'm sure they have great food , I'll come back and re review for other food experiences. read more

Another Taco Tuesday that I couldn't pass up! $1.50 tacos is definitely quite the steal nowadays. I got the Baja Fish & Asada Tacos and Buffalo Wings with a 20 oz House Margarita Rocks. The drink was part of their drink specials for the day and boy were they big and the right amount of strong haha. The Complimentary Chips & Salsa was one of my favorites because of the salsa. It had a little spice kick to it and I loved putting that onto my tacos for extra flavor. I thought my fish taco tasted good, but the asada tacos were definitely my least favorite. Not only was it dry, it was spicy to where I couldn't really taste the asada. It was like the spice was the only flavor and the asada wasn't seasoned at all. The wings were a given that it would be amazing. Perfectly sauced; I just wish they also gave out veggie sticks. I wouldn't mind coming back here to eat, drink, and chill with my friends. Keep in mind the parking spot and to get your ticket validated by your server. I still had to pay a portion of it even after validation, but it was only a few bucks. read more
