Pros: there was no wait on a Friday evening during happy hour and the margarita is huge. However, the happy hour food was not good... the fish tacos were so bland and dry. The best part of the meal were the free chips and salsa. It was really loud inside. For a nice view of the marina, there was a wait to be seated outside. There is validate parking but you will need to pay about $2.

    Beef Sandwich

I came to Tequila Jack's in Long Beach on Sunday morning with my partner. I ordered the huevos rancheros, while my partner ordered the beef sandwich and a Paloma. Unfortunately, the huevos rancheros were pretty underwhelming. They came with two over-easy eggs over a tortilla that was very soggy. I personally prefer the tortilla to have some crispness so you can actually bite into it and get that contrast in texture, but this one was completely soft underneath the eggs and sauce. The ranchero sauce itself was very basic and plain. It wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything particularly flavorful or memorable about it. The beans were fine, but I didn't care for the rice. My partner's beef sandwich was actually decent and probably the better of the two dishes, although it still wasn't anything extraordinary. He also ordered a Paloma, but unfortunately that was disappointing as well. He could really taste what seemed like lower-quality alcohol, and overall the drink tasted mostly like watered-down Squirt rather than a well-balanced Paloma. Overall, nothing was necessarily terrible, but the experience was pretty average. I was hoping for more flavor and better textures from the food, and a better-balanced cocktail. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out enough to make the meal memorable. The staff and waiter were nice and pleasant and restrooms were clean.

    Carne Asada & Garlic Shrimp

Located in Shoreline Village and very convenient walk on the overpass if you are staying at the Hyatt. Fun atmosphere, good chips and salsa, the margaritas are big and delicious. Their carne asada is a must and I had the combination with garlic shrimp. A friend had the fajitas and loved them as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and sitting out on the patio on a pretty day a must. If you are driving, the parking is paid, but most restaurants will validate so your fee is lowered.

Plenty of parking. This place can get packed VERY quickly. Good for apps and drinks. Staff is super friendly. One thing that I didn't like was the restroom smell. The men's restroom smell crept into the women's restroom. I know this is uncontrollable but my goodness hahahaha it could make anyone sober quick. Their salsa with chips were good. Servers were on point and drinks were made quickly with love. Views are awesome. We sat in the bar area outside.

Snuck in a brunch outside before it got hot. It is a nice water front location. We got there at 11 when they opened and didn't have to wait to be seated. They have a lunch menu for smaller portions. I got the green cheese enchilada from there. It was delicious. The green sauce was so flavorful. I loved the black beans and the cheese on them. They have a paid parking lot. Don't forget to get your ticket validated to get a discount on parking.

Went here for lunch on Grand Prix Friday. 04.17.2026 I was surprised how fast we were able to get seated! Greeted and seated. Chips and Salsa were served. It was busy because of the large crowds. We waited for our waiter to come back so we can order some drinks. Once he came back we ordered our drinks which we waited another good 15 minutes for him to return with our drinks. The time line was too long of a wait. He left again, waited another 15 minutes to take our food order. Lol. Ordered my shrimp cocktail along with other entrees. Our waiter was ghosting us every 15 minutes. Overall, the ambiance was busy. It is expected because of the grandprix event. This place needs to up their staffing when events like this is taking place. Food was good but service was dissapointing.

Went on a Sunday this time (I usually go on Taco Tuesday). The service is always on point as they check in right away and always check in making sure everything is good. The food is always amazing. We came for the carnitas and I decided to try the chile colorado. I was warned it was spicy and I thought it couldn't be that spicy right? It was but man it still had so much flavor and fortunately I enjoy heat. Washed it down with a tamarindo margarita first and then a house margarita. Tequila Jacks never disappoints and it's a place that's always on the list of "Where should we go eat?"

The service was good, it was pretty empty but at first it seems like you're going to get good Mexican food with some good margaritas or cocktails. It was very plain flavor food. Even the guacamole has no lemon, spices, or salt. The chips were crunchy and good but had no salsa that went well with it. The resturant might need new recipes or a new chef. No cocktails and margaritas could be better

Happy hour prices + view of the marina are fantastic. We've only gone during happy hour because we just love the outdoor patio & the prices. No wait at 5pm on a Thursday. Patio: covered on top with heaters. They pull down additional side covers along the patio when it's super windy, so sitting outside is still very comfortable no matter the weather. Inside: dim and moody lighting. Food: 4 fish tacos, chips/salsa (so fresh & crispy), taquitos, pulled pork sliders (skip), michelada and marg for $40. Service: good. Food comes out fast. Definitely recommend for casual fare with great views!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait, with plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The menu offers a wide variety of drinks and dishes. It leans heavily toward Mexican food but also includes some American options like burgers and buffalo wings. I ordered a combination plate, which comes with 2-3 items of your choice, rice and beans, and Mexican corn pudding. I chose the pork tamales and taquitos. The pork tamales were pretty good, but the taquitos were bland and I didn't end up finishing them. The sides were decent overall, and the Mexican corn pudding was my favorite part of the meal. We also got unlimited chips and dip, which was a nice bonus. For drinks, I ordered the "Scooby Snack," a cocktail made with rum, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, and whipped cream. It came in a huge cup and was a great value for the price. It tasted good too. Overall, it's a solid spot for food and drinks, and they even offer happy hour, which makes it worth checking out.

Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat the atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

Restaurant: (Score: 10) Nice entrance, décor, and a good view of the sea. Location: (Score: 10) Excellent. Service: (Score: 10) The Senorita who served us first provided good service; the second waiter was attentive to our table and checked if our food was okay. Food: (Score: 6) Appetizers: *Guacamole (10) *Asada Nachos (9) *Chips and Salsa (10) Main Course: *Shrimp Green Enchiladas, pinto beans, and red rice (The enchiladas were cold, the sauce was average, and the rice with vegetables tasted like frozen food). *Carnitas Wet Burrito (The red sauce tasted ordinary, the carnitas were disappointing, the black beans needed more flavor, and the rice needed more flavor). I used my cutlery to signal my opinion of the meal. Drinks: (Score: 5) We ordered 3 micheladas, and the black pepper flavor was very strong.

    Yummy margaritas!

No they said they don't take reservations

How can I get in contact with the headquarters of tequila jacks?

Call the restaurant at 562.628.0454 Ask for a manager and they should be able to direct you.

Is there dancing there? What kind of music for dancing? How old are people there dancing?

I have not seen an area where you can dance, it's all tables! Unless they move the tables outside for special events? But so far I've never seen dancing!!

Are you guys open today and what time do you guys close and can I make reservations?

Best thing to do is go on their website and if still unsure give them a call. This is what is posted on their contact page:…

    Are strollers allowed?

You can park strollers outside of the restaurant, but inside it's kind of tight between tables!

Does anyone know if the restaurant will take reservations for parties of 6 soon?

As of right now they only take reservations for parties of 8 or more

Does this business offer catering options?

    Yes it does

    Yes.

How do I make a reservation?

Call the restaurant and ask to speak to a manager. They can help you.

Do you have to make reservations?

    Do we need reservations?

They don't take reservations over the phone. We waited 3 hours to be seated so go early

Will you offer happy hour once opened back up on august 7 & going forward?

    Happy Hour is Tuesday-Friday 3-6pm.

    Do you offer brunch?

No, I'm sorry we do not serve brunch. When we re-open on June 19th our menu will be slightly abbreviated, and we will not carry our lunch specials - some of which are considered brunch items. We hope to serve these items again in the near future,…

When will you guys be open for Dine-in?

We will be reopening for in-door & patio dining on Friday, June 19th. We look forward to serving you!

Please tell me they're still open?

They are open for take out only. But they are open

Is there a cover charge on Friday nights? Good place for dancing?

No cover charge that I am aware. And no dancing place.

Do you have a private dining area for a bridal shower for 30-32 people? Do you have preset menus/prices available? How many hours will this cover? Thank you for your time!

Call and ask to speak with Oscar or Debbie

I am planning on throwing my husband a birthday dinner. Would i need me a reversations for a Saturday night? How do spilt checks work?

Not sure about reservation but when I went with a group of 3 they split the check three ways for us (each person paid their mean/drinks) without a problem

This was my second time here, and I've gotta say, I think this has officially become one of my all-time favorites. Downtown Long Beach has always had such a fun, foodie-filled atmosphere. I know some restaurants are struggling, but it's because they didn't have the same atmosphere & service. The food is great, but what really stands out to me are the PEOPLE. Even the servers who weren't serving our table intentionally, smiled, and said hello as they passed. I even remembered one of the servers from my last visit and her sister because they both have some of the most inviting personalities ever. That says a lot about the culture of a restaurant. We also had the opportunity to meet the new GM, which was another nice touch. Great food. Great ambience. GREAT people. And Steve,,,you're the best! 10/10. We'll definitely be back. A New Job, A New Milestone & A Chance to Rewrite the Narrative…read more My best friend and I have a tradition of celebrating new jobs with a nice dinner. Since this was her new job and a major milestone, I let her choose the restaurant. She had visited Bo-Beau last year but didn't get the full experience, so this was her chance to rewrite the narrative. And it was truly night and day. I researched the restaurant beforehand and was excited to see that Bo-Beau is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, which I mostly associate with San Diego and South Orange County. After this experience, I really hope they're here to stay. I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her new job, and for once, the restaurant actually read the note and acknowledged it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. The food was great, but the hospitality is what earned the 5 stars for me. Real hospitality is paying attention to the guest, recognizing the occasion, and making people feel genuinely welcomed. My best friend got the celebration she wanted -- and a much better Bo-Beau experience this time around. Will definitely be returning!

We decided to explore more of Long Beach and picked Ellie's randomly with no expectation. Left so…read morehappy and satisfied! It was not busy as we were there for an early dinner. Despite how simple the food might look, everything was intentional, flavorful, fresh, and delicious! The shrimp and melon salad was a personal favorite - enjoying it outside on a beautiful day, it felt as if I was on a summer vacation in Europe. If we're ever back in town, we would love to try their handmade pasta and pizzas. The only downside is that parking is a little tricky in this area, so come a little earlier than your reservation time. But overall, we were happy with the food, service, and ambience. The only thing was that flies kept bothering us (my goodness were they hungry), but the waiter graciously gave us a spinning fly deterrent fan (which somewhat worked)... I suppose that's to be expected when you sit outside. We ordered 6 oysters to share ($5.50 each with 6 minimum oyster order) and the tagliatelle for each of us. The oysters were delicious and paired well with the provided seasonings. The tagliatelle was creamy and savory with the shrimp and scallops, but I was expecting the pork ragu and bone marrow butter to shine more in the dish- couldn't really taste them. Service was standard, parking is on the street but was not difficult to find. Overall this was a cute corner brunch/lunch spot
