Good food, ATROCIOUS SERVICE. I went there with my family and we were told to wait 45 min. We happily waited since we knew the place was busy. After AN HOUR we did not have a table. There were tables available the whole time just sitting there because no one would go and clean them. They gave a table of four to a couple that arrived after we did. We were a table of five, so I told the owner that we were before them and she responded: ''that table doesn't fit five people''. She could have easily added a chair like she did for a table of five sitting 7 people. We sat and ordered and our food arrived before our drinks. Turns out they are VERY LOW on staff and the waitresses have to prepare the drinks. Not only do you wait so long to get a drink, but they also screw up your order and make you PAY FOR IT. Although we had a very UNPLEASANT first experience, my girlfriend and I decided to give them a second chance. We assumed that this bad experience was because of how busy the place was. We went again and the place was very empty, so we got a table as soon as we got there. Wohoo! At least they didn't make us wait an hour for a second horrible experience. We sat and we waited 10 MINUTES for a waiter to come and offer drinks. Again, the place was NOT BUSY. We ordered our food and to our surprise they screwed up the order AGAIN and we PAID FOR IT again. Clearly, whoever runs this place does not know how to run a business. Stop being cheap and hire more people!!! You can't run a restaurant like this. One thing is sure, we are NEVER GOING BACK. This place is tucked into the plaza center with a couple of helpful signs to guide you through the construction zone. Upon arrival I was greeted by two hostesses who asked inside or on the patio. Patio! Of course! Ambiance was comforting, inviting and the perfect vibe to start your day. The turkey sandwich with avocado was amazing. Our server was attentive and quick. Our meals came out in no time at all. The grapefruit mimosa was DELICIOUS. Best mimosa I've had in Tucson to be honest...They do offer bottomless mimosas as well, however I'm sure that if I had bought that, I'd shut the place down since they aren't open into the night. Arrived on a Sunday excited to try a new breakfast restaurant. Signed up for the wait list and was told it would be 30 to 45 minutes. Settled down and relaxed on the brick patio while we waited. After 45 minutes I inquired as to how much longer. The hostess informed us that we would receive one of two tables on the patio once they opened. Thanked her and sat back down on the brick patio for another 15 minutes. When we saw one of the tables clear we anxious awaited our reservation to be called. Now, one hour into our reservation we saw another couple who arrived after us be seated in the promised table. After speaking to the hostess she advised another 20 minutes, which by this time would have put our wait to one and a half hours. Asked to speak to a manager , and after another ten minutes of waiting, left. What a huge disappointment and waste of a Sunday morning! Its a shame because the restaurant looked really good, but the incompetence of the staff could not be overlooked. read more

This place is seriously awesome! We went earlier in the morning so it wasn't too hot to sit and enjoy our breakfast outside. The atmosphere is nice and all of the employees are extremely friendly and attentive. The orange mimosa is delicious!! One tip, if you don't enjoy eggs you will not like the bubble waffle. I've been here a solid three times so far! The restaurant is super cute, they have two community tables, and patio seating. The servers are very friendly, and the service has been excellent both times! The hostess seems a little frazzled but nice! And the food is good too. This was my second visit to the Teaspoon, the first time I went I had something with gravy and wasn't a big fan of it but I had good service and went a back today to try something different. Today I had Challah vanilla bean French toast and it was amazing. I've heard from some people that the place is pricey but I don't feel like that's a fair complaint to give a restaurant because they hand you menus and if you don't like the price that you see than you should leave. I don't mind paying for Quality if I wanted something cheap I'll go to Jerry Bobs or IHOP. I drank my cup of coffee and waited a good ten minutes before I got up and had to approach the server to get a refill. Tried them for the first time and I was excited. The menu looked great and the decor was also well done. I give them 3 stars because of a few things. First the host that was next to our table was more interested in her face book account then anything else in the restaurant. Second we were 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant but our food still took 20 minutes. The food was good and the bubble waffle was something new we have never tried and we were happy with it. Third the servers were all in the back and you would rarely see them. So all that was in the restaurant was a w tables waiting to long for food and a host on her phone. Hopefully these are just some hiccups they are having and all this was just a one time incident. Great food and friendly service! We were here in town for a conference and decided to try this place. Very eclectic menu with something for everyone. I had the turkey sandwich Kama best sandwich around! A friend had the bubble waffles and cream. The cream is made from a recipe they get from England! It was so good she passed her played around so all of us could try some. Others had the chilaquiles, crab cakes, vegetable tempura, southwest salad... Everyone enjoyed their food and we will definitely be back the next time we're in town. This is a must try if you're in the area! read more

The WORST service EVER! Have been here once before and loved the food. Today my boyfriend and I went and were waiting 30 minutes for s table (in or out) and there was at least 10 EMPTY tables and when I asked about it the hostess said "the server needed to catch up". WHAT?!?! I have been a waitress before and people never waited if there were tables open. Seriously, we left and ate at another restaurant in the plaza. Others were waiting and left too. Unexpected delight. Menu is creative and diverse. I like savory breakfasts - my husband prefers savory. We both had lots to choose from. The poached eggs were done perfectly, which is not that typical. But the real treat was the Dutch Baby pancake. We've eaten these at dozens of restaurants, and until today we'd say the best are found in Chicago at Walker Brothers. But teaspoon has upped it a notch. They combinethe apple pancake with the German, bake it in a cast iron skillet, and create magic. Service is friendly and efficient, and coffee is good. read more

This was a wonderful surprise. We stopped after church for the first time not knowing anything about this restaurant. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The place had a European feeling with the walls opened to the outside. Now to the food!!! Hubs had the ABC omelet - avocado bacon and corn. Dee lish! The corn was grilled then cut off for this beautiful and delicious taste treat. I wasn't especially hungry so I ordered the pastry plate expecting 3 tiny tastes of sweets. NO! The plate had 3 full sizes ( read large) of fresh made pastries for just $6. We were so excited about this new breakfast/lunch cafe that we came with friends the following week. Same experience. When we got there they had two tables set aside but kindly joined them up so my daughters friends could sit together. I really wanted to love this place and would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the service. I ordered the eggs Benedict and bloody Mary, both were delicious. The food was flavorful and creative. We were sat promptly, and the hostess actually came back to take our order because she felt bad no had greeted us within 10ish minutes of being seated. I ordered a side of fruit which I was charged for and not given. One person gave us our drinks, another delivered the food, and another the check. Still not sure who our server was, as far as I was concerned it was the lovely hostess, Maria. The atmosphere and patio are awesome. If I go back I hope to have a better experience. read more

I've been here twice and I love the outdoor seating area since they have water misters if it's hot out. The vanilla latte is absolutely delicious.
