Unexpected delight. Menu is creative and diverse. I like savory breakfasts - my husband prefers savory. We both had lots to choose from. The poached eggs were done perfectly, which is not that typical. But the real treat was the Dutch Baby pancake. We've eaten these at dozens of restaurants, and until today we'd say the best are found in Chicago at Walker Brothers. But teaspoon has upped it a notch. They combinethe apple pancake with the German, bake it in a cast iron skillet, and create magic. Service is friendly and efficient, and coffee is good. read more

This was a wonderful surprise. We stopped after church for the first time not knowing anything about this restaurant. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The place had a European feeling with the walls opened to the outside. Now to the food!!! Hubs had the ABC omelet - avocado bacon and corn. Dee lish! The corn was grilled then cut off for this beautiful and delicious taste treat. I wasn't especially hungry so I ordered the pastry plate expecting 3 tiny tastes of sweets. NO! The plate had 3 full sizes ( read large) of fresh made pastries for just $6. We were so excited about this new breakfast/lunch cafe that we came with friends the following week. Same experience. We recently had breakfast at 'Teaspoon' in Casas Adobes Plaza. Was able to make reservation by phone for group of 16 for Birthday Brunch. When we got there they had two tables set aside but kindly joined them up so my daughters friends could sit together. Coming from CA, I would say the Vietnamese drop coffee was on point. It wasn't overly sweet and pretty strong overall. Went back twice this weekend and couldn't get enough of the gravy. Try the croque madame or the country chicken. read more

I really wanted to love this place and would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the service. I ordered the eggs Benedict and bloody Mary, both were delicious. The food was flavorful and creative. We were sat promptly, and the hostess actually came back to take our order because she felt bad no had greeted us within 10ish minutes of being seated. I ordered a side of fruit which I was charged for and not given. One person gave us our drinks, another delivered the food, and another the check. Still not sure who our server was, as far as I was concerned it was the lovely hostess, Maria. The atmosphere and patio are awesome. If I go back I hope to have a better experience. read more

The service is outstanding and only out shined by the quality and consistency of the food that comes out of the back of the house. The sisters that own this place are amazing. I had one complaint on a completely out of the norm day and it was taken care of immediately. Their service is as consistent as their food quality. All of the servers are extremely talented. Let me start of by saying the food here is pretty good. The menu is trendy and fun, but I'm usually impressed by the flavors here. They also offer a decent amount of gluten free options. However, the service is consitenly terrible. I have visited this restaurant multiple times, and every time my meal is either messed up in a way, or the service is slow and the servers are absent. One time I can recall was ordering a crab omelet and finding sand in my omelet, which was already dry. My server brought me another omelet, however it took around 20.minutes to get my remake, and my fellow diners were already finished. On other occasions, servers have been slow with refills, not particularly friendly or professional. Just today, I ordered a turkey sandwich to go on gluten free bread, however when I arrived home the sandwich was on regular, whole wheat bread. As someone that works in a restaurant, I know that the cashier or person who took the to go order should always double check the order, it Is not the job of the customer to ensure the order is right, they should have the confidence of knowing the people paid to do so have taken care of it. While the food is good, my experience is consistent ruined by the service of the restaurant. Unfortunately, I will not be back anytime soon, and I surely hope the managers and owners can address and fix the problems. read more

My first visit was today for breakfast and I really enjoyed the selection on the menu. The hazelnut chocolate crepes were very yummy as well as the ABC omelet. On the negative side was the waiter who when my friend asked for a spoon to stir her honey in her tea was told she could use her knife for stirring. Really? Isn't the name of this restaurant Teaspoon? Hopefully if I go again the wait staff will figure out the proper use between knifes and teaspoons. read more

Hostess was nice seating us, we sat at our table for 10 minutes without anyone approaching us. The server finally came over and was very short and seemed uneducated on the menu. When bringing our drinks she set them on the table without saying a word and walked away. A man brought our food out and my mom asked a question about her side of bacon and he was very snarky and barely even answered her question. I've been here twice and I love the outdoor seating area since they have water misters if it's hot out. The vanilla latte is absolutely delicious. The chicken and waffles is the beat I've had anywhere. The servers are polite and attentive. The bubble waffle is a go to. Great place for brunch with a couple friends. My family raved about this restaurant and wanted to take me while I visited. The menu looked great and I wanted to love it. We waited 20 minutes; not bad for Sunday morning. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the bubble waffle with the clotted cream on the side and two scrambled eggs. The waffle was very good but arrived with clotted cream on it and the "strawberries" that were to accompany it amounted to one sliced strawberry as decoration. The eggs unfortunately were cold. My dad ordered a southwestern skillet which was tasty but lukewarm. My mother ordered the Dutch baby which arrived ten minutes after our other meals had been served. I love Dutch babies. We were seated pretty quickly on a very uncomfortable bench. When we asked if we could sit at a table with padded benches, they told us another party was going to be seated there. After ten minutes, they seated a party of two. It was a smaller party than ours at a larger seating area. Annoying. Coffee was good. Food was good, did take a while to get our food. Everything was correct. Asked for additional condiments. That did take awhile. Everything was a la cart so the meal was very expensive. While the food was good, it was not worth the cost. $75 before tip for a party of three. First Watch is much better, friendlier, more affordable, and hospitable. read more

The staff was very nice, but the food was lame and pricey. We did not realize they were just a brunch place and decided to visit on a Friday evening.We love the location and Casas Adobes. The decor is not much, pretty plain. They just happen to be open serving appetizers. There was sparse selection, nothing was gluten free except two items. Both we bland and blah. Nothing special. Would never do that again. The band was very good, I will say. We got out of there for $75 having a couple of well drinks and the mediocre appetizers.We were so disappointed that we are not inclined to return for brunch. July 6- I decided to go back and give Teaspoon a second chance. I went for breakfast. It was very hot so I opted to go inside. The door was not opening easily so an employee came over to help with the door. It kept sticking and closing. It slipped as she tried to open it and tore off the nail on my toe then slammed my arm so badly that I now have a giant black bruise from my shoulder to my elbow. Sadly, the employee just walked away, never asked if I was OK, never apologized. I was in miserable pain. Te table we were seated at was shoved tight against the wall, we could hardly get in or out, and when we did, the table was right up against up. We are not large people, either. The menu was nothing special for breakfast. I ordered a veggie omlette and it came with no sides (no potatoes or fruit) and one slice of toast. The meal was pricey for what I got. A very disappointing experience all around. A challenge to describe the poor service and quality of food. We decided to take the family to brunch at Teaspoon for my birthday. It was not too busy when we arrived at 11 am and we were seated fairly quickly while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. It took about 5 minutes for the wait person to fill our water cups and we asked for coffee at that time. The remainder of our party arrived after about 10 minutes and our coffee arrived 10 minutes after that, warm not hot. We ordered our food when the coffee arrived, realizing things were going a bit slow. Our food arrived in about 30 minutes, not too bad. I had a sweet waffle that was very dry and appeared burnt around the edges- it was actually crunchy it was so dry and had the texture of a store brand toaster waffle. I ate a bit and had to send it back, after another 10 minute wait for the waiter to stop by the table. Asked for more coffee, again not hot when it arrived. While waiting for my replacement waffle, I inquired about the other meals. My sons hamburger was well cooked and tasty although some of the lettuce had brown, wilted tips. My daughter's Pastry Plate seemed to have day old pastry and my wife's Pear Quinoa salad seemed to have only oil in the dressing - not good. After another 15 minute wait and the others had finished eating my waffle finally arrived and confirmed that these were frozen waffles. It was barely warm, dry and crunchy with little flavor. Could not eat the waffle and my wife barely ate any of the salad. The end result, two reasonable meals, two marginal meals and one unacceptable meal (not charged on bill), poor service and me having to go find food elsewhere after an hour and a half waste of time. Note: this is my first Yelp review. The service and food were just so disappointing I had to comment. My wife and daughter had eaten here about a month before and loved it, however this experience was a polar opposite. read more

Super overpriced! A cup of coffee and a super bland skillet with undercooked potatoes, cheese, bell peppers, and sausage (no toast or onions or seasoning) was $17 (not including tip). Food took forever to come out. On the plus side the place is really cute, the menu is interesting enough for me to want to try other items, and the coffee is great. Sadly, we have marketed this restaurant since we came here months ago. This visit today showed okayyyy service and very mediocre food. Most of us wanted more seasoning in our choices. I had a turkey, spinach, egg white serving. this had DELI turkey and not real turkey. Very disappointed. Boring taste. Sorry, but I've been to First Watch and had the same ingredients in a totally satisfying and yummy serving. Almost everyone at the table was disappointed in the food because the seasonings were lacking. All was fresh. Somewhat oily. We waited a bit longer than we wanted to complete our CC payment. But, so sorry to say, the servings needs more thought as to seasonings (and not just salt) to bring a greater depth to the ingredients. read more
