Miramonte was a hell of a good night. The ribeye was perfectly cooked, the jumbo shrimp were fantastic, and the cocktails were creative and absolutely slamming. First time I've ever had a martini with both gin and vodka and blue cheese olives. That alone deserves a return visit. John and Brendon really made the night, though. Great service and great conversation--everything from Sinatra, to Chappelle's Show to All in the Family to Sanford and Son ("Ya big dummy!"). Amazing meal, bomb-ass drinks, and plenty of laughs. Went to the bar at 10 pm , given the location closes at 11 and we were very poorly tended too, almost ignored. The bar was very cold. The Tv was playing a movie with Nazi symbols . I was trying so hard to like this place. The only semi save to this place was the older gentleman bartender but other than that ..... i was shocked that both drinks were charged even though we only drank one and express the reason why was due to taste they offered to remake one drink and not the other. We discovered Miramonte after a trip to Whole Foods and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! The food was outstanding. I had the salmon, and my husband ordered the ribs; both were absolutely delicious. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and they also have an extensive wine list with plenty of great options. The real star, though, is the cornbread appetizer. I've never had anything quite like it. It arrives in a large cast-iron skillet with more than enough to take home. We reheated the leftovers in the air fryer the next day, and it tasted just as amazing as it did in the restaurant. If you're looking for a memorable meal with excellent food, drinks, and service, Miramonte gets a big thumbs up from us! read more

The ambience is so cool and absolutely not what you expect in midtown on Speedway. You could be in any sprawling metropolitan city and it would make total sense. The service is spot on and our server Brooke was fantastic. Sweet, knowledgeable and on it. We dined here on Thursday with four friends and we all ordered different things. Everyone was 100% thrilled with what we ordered. We all walked out of Miramonte already trying to figure out when we can get back here. We shared the cornbread and grilled artichoke appetizers, and seriously if you come here without ordering the cornbread, it should be a crime. I had the spicy steak salad and I could it eat every single day-it was perfect! My husband had the fish and chips and devoured it. Other hits at the table were the rigatoni, the ribs, the grilled fish of the day (Cabrilla), and the chicken under a brick. Miramonte is in a great central location, close to the u of a and downtown, but far enough away to find parking easily and be able to stroll the strip mall with stores and even dessert spot! I would recommend making a reservation, we got seated right away but on a smaller table in the bar area, otherwise the restaurant had a 20 minute wait. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The steak salad with sweet potato noodles was delicious. It had a spicy flare (almost like a Korean spicy). Will go back for that! The portobello sandwich was good but the portobello was a little small for the bun. Overall a great experience and will go back! read more

I've heard good things, so decided to try this place with a friend for the date night special - an appetizer, main, and a cocktail for 60.00. We were able to get wine instead of a cocktail, we each got white wine, which was crisp and refreshing. Unfortunately, the calamari appetizer was inedible - it was rubbery. I had one and almost spit it out. The New England haddock was dry, the potatoes were ok, I didn't taste any olives. We checked out the dessert menu, and nothing sounded at all good on the dessert menu, so we just didn't have any. Service wasn't bad, but also wasn't great. Unfortunately, I won't be back anytime soon. I should have taken Anthony Bourdain's advice to never get the fish special early in the week! read more

Lots of potential here, but also aspects that need work. The inside is obviously adorable and looks like a super fun place to grab drinks and food with friends. I haven't tried any of their cocktails yet, but some of them sounded amazing - especially the salty snack. Cocktail bars in Tucson, we need more savory and salty cocktails! I will definitely be trying it next time I go. As for the food, it was good. We started with the grilled artichoke with aioli, and that was awesome. The aioli was fresh and slightly garlicky. For my entree, I had the fish and chips, which seems to be one of the most popular items here. The fish was haddock, not your typical cod, and it was juicy with a good fry. No complaints, except that the batter could have been a little thinner. I was disappointed by the fries, though. They were a bit limp, not really crispy at all, and lacked flavor. For a dish called fish and chips, I'd hope the chips would be just as good as the fish, so that was definitely a letdown. The star of the show for me, however, was somehow the COLESLAW - it was amazing! Perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and a bit savory, not too heavy on the mayo, and they use cilantro in it (?!?!) -- which I've never seen done before, but it was actually so good. The herbaceous flavor of the cilantro complimented the coleslaw perfectly. Next time I make coleslaw myself, I'm taking a page out of their book and adding cilantro. I also had an oyster. It was very fresh, briny, and slightly sweet, all of the things you look for in a good oyster. I enjoyed the mignonette and the fresh horseradish that came with it as well. I only ordered one, but it was honestly pretty small. I know that smaller is usually better in the oyster world, but this was about the size of a half dollar. Hopefully they source some slightly bigger ones in the future. Overall, I'm appreciative of the concept and another spot in town trying to serve interesting cocktails, oysters, and entrees, but hoping quality will improve in a few areas. What a solid experience from start to finish! It makes such a difference--especially when dealing with food allergies--when the waitress knows every ingredient in each dish without having to run back to the kitchen. That level of knowledge and confidence immediately put us at ease. Service was excellent all around. The cast iron cornbread is an absolute must. It's incredible--but be warned, you'll want at least four people to help tackle it! I may have gone a little overboard because by the time our fish and chips arrived, I was nearly full. The fish was light, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The fries came out slightly cold, but they happily replaced them with a fresh, hot batch right away. My wife really enjoyed the coleslaw (not usually my thing), and even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist ordering the Baked Alaska. That toasted marshmallow exterior over ice cream and sponge cake was the perfect sweet finish--delicious and beautifully done. Huge portions, great prices, a beautiful atmosphere, comfortable seating, and drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert all for under $100. I honestly can't say enough good things about this dinner. I've been to Miramonte twice now. The first time we sat in the bar area in one of the small booths to celebrate my birthday. I loved the little booth - it felt intimate and blocked some of the noise from the main dining room. The second time I sat in the main dining area and it definitely can get a little loud over there. I've tried the five onion dip and cast iron cornbread. Both were very good. The onion dip was creamy with lovely homemade chips. The cornbread wasn't really spicy from the chiles which is a fear of mine as someone who cannot handle spice. The seared salmon was cooked beautifully and the sauce had a great flavor without being overwhelmingly mustardy. I've also tried the crispy chicken sandwich and I really liked the slaw. It gave a little sweetness and a nice fresh crunch to the fried chicken. For a place located in a strip mall next to Whole Foods, it had a nice ambiance and some good food for a reasonable price. They have a solid selection of drinks good beer, wine, and spirits. And if the onion rings were any indication of the rest of the menu, the food is going to be excellent. I'm so glad I made it in recently for happy hour with some family. I had heard good things about this place and was not disappointed. I love the industrial feel on the inside , they really opened up the space and utilize the big windows. Our server was good, friendly and helpful. They have a solid happy hour and I saw they also do reverse happy hour late night as well. They definitely have the best oyster price in town at $1.50 per blue point oyster with all the fixings. There's other price points and seafood options as well that looked good . The onion rings were huge, solid and definitely hand breaded. But the standout for me was the key lime pie for sure . Loved the big dollop of whip cream on top and the tart filling with the thick crust just sooooo good! I will definitely be back for that! I'm hoping the acoustics can somehow be fixed because I came before it was busy and I can't imagine how it would be during peak. I noticed that the hostess took calls outside. Our server was great and attentive. Food was enjoyable and the drink menu is extensive. I got the elderflower mocktail and it tasted fresh and lovely. For food, I started with the ahi tuna tartare and had the pan seared salmon. Everything was tasty. Had lunch at this new spot, and it is a nicely designed restaurant. I love the look and feel of the bar especially very clean modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. I ordered the grilled fish of the day which was swordfish and coleslaw. The reason I gave a 4 star is just for this, the swordfish was server over the coleslaw, which caused the fish to taste like the coleslaw sauce. I would have preferred it to be on the side and not on top, but maybe someone would like it that way. We also had the ahi tuna app which was amazing with wonton chips. The chicken under a brick with kale and panzanella was very flavorful and the chicken under was cooked amazingly. The fish and chips was very good as well. This is a really cute restaurant the aesthetic is really nice. It's a nice addition to the plaza since it's had a facelift recently. I'm honestly impressed with the service I had with it only being open just over a week, I made reservations (highly recommended) and we were seated within minutes. The drink menu is wide, if you're a wine person this place is up your alley for sure they have a wide selection. They do have really nice NA options too. I had the elderflower mocktail which was delicious but I'm not sure was worth the price tag but I knew what I was getting into looking at the menu beforehand. For an appetizer we had the green chile cornbread and its delicious, crispy edges and packed with flavor. The main course I had the chicken under a brick which was a quarter chicken with nice herbs, lemon and fresh kale with a dressing. Overall it was well done, flavor was great, it could've been a salad with how much kale it had but I mean this is something a home cook could execute pretty easily. I had a side of Mac and cheese which was nice, it has a complex flavor I think they use a non traditional nutty cheese but it added a nice layer of depth to a simple side. My friend had the rigatoni, super fresh dish with the veggies and crème fresh. We shared the Oreo chocolate pie which was really good but also very rich. Was I blown away? No. But the service was great, food was executed well and it's cute! I hope to see an evolution of the menu eventually. read more

I wanted to love this place, particularly after quickly learning their patio is pup friendly. But similar to others, we had what I believe was a not so great server. Hostess, super friendly and welcoming - seated us right away. The restaurant has a very cool industrial and open vibe and I loved the aesthetic. We chose the patio as it was still pretty mild in terms of warmth and I could quickly tell that our server was not the best in comparison to the other two ladies with tables on the patio. Without getting into a complete diatribe (I could write paragraphs) about what happened - I will simply say our server did not have a good grasp in ensuring his assigned tables were taken care of. After being there 50 minutes, we made the decision to leave after only receiving our shrimp cocktail appetizer early on and never seeing our two sandwiches. We had no idea where our server was (he did not come outside often) so I just went up to the front to settle the bill and the manager was with the hostess up there. We will just say that within a minute of the manager being looped in - our food magically appeared (albeit not very warm) and our server clueless that he had literally told us 30 minutes prior that our "food will be right out". He ended up blaming it entirely on the kitchen to us (I do not believe him - I saw other servers quickly and efficiently bringing food to their tables) The manager was kind enough to comp both sandwiches. My husband said the French Dip was very good. My sandwich could have been good if not great except the bottom bun was soaked through, maybe from sitting somewhere too long. The menu has some really great items and while our experience was not so great from an overall perspective I would maybe come back given the pup friendly patio and as long as I did not have the same server we had this first visit. read more

I made a reservation online ahead of time and it was a good thing I did. Seems to be a popular restaurant. Due to some health issues I asked if we could possibly be seated away from lots of people. When we got there, they sat us up front toward a corner with some little tables put together for us. The manager checked with us to be sure it was satisfactory. I was very impressed with how they handled my request. Our server was great, very attentive. The menu had several delicious sounding choices. We started with the kale salad--very yummy. They divided it into two separate portions for us. Our companions ordered onion rings--a big pile of huge rings is what they got! We ordered the chicken under a brick meals. It came with a large portion of chicken over mashed potatoes with a delightfully cooked side of kale. Our friends ordered the salmon meal and fish n chips. They both enjoyed theirs as well. My only small complaint is that it is noisy, but part of that is due to being such a popular dining spot. First visit to Miramonte and it was really nice. Menu is an interesting mix of Mediterranean and fusion dishes. Wine list impressive but a tad pricey. Think special occasion prices. They've been open just under a year and it appears to be a smooth dining experience. Sat on the patio which was lovely. Inside was well appointed but noisy. Service was excellent, quick, efficient and friendly. I had a steak and noodle melange to which I added some salmon. It was good but not as spicy as I expected, which was a bit disappointing. From when I arrived to when I left it was a wonderful experience. I don't remember our waiter's name, but he was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the menu, fun and made our experience even better. My friend had been there before, and loved the salmon so much, she ordered it again and wasn't disappointed. I tried the mustard-caper beurre-blanc sauce and it was delicious. I had the Chicken Under a Brick. The chicken was moist and so flavorful. The mashed potatoes were delicious and the kale was bright, perfectly cooked and so good. Went here for a date night a few weeks ago, after trying to go a month ago, but being turned away due to how busy it was. This time I made reservations, and was quickly sat once we arrived. The restaurant was still pretty bustling on Friday night around 7:30 PM. My husband and I sat in a booth, and we ordered the cornbread appetizer, as well as the ahi appetizer. The cornbread was soft, and had a bit of sweetness to it. It was good. It was also enough for 4 to 5 people I would say. We also ordered the steak and noodle salad, which was pretty unique and very enjoyable for us both. I would definitely order it again. For our meals, I got the rigatoni with chicken, which I liked, and my husband got the crispy chicken sandwich with no complaint. The only thing about the meal I dislike was the drink I ordered . I was looking for a sweeter drink and trying to avoid the more tart ones. Our server recommended the drink I ordered, though I cannot remember its name. Once I got it, I instantly hated it. I commend our server for really trying to make it right and ensuring that I liked it. It was apparent to me that there was an excess of lime in that drink that was really making it unbearable. They were busy on a Sunday night and it took a while for our table to be approached and a little bit before our drink and food orders were taken. Not a huge deal as the wait wasn't exceptionally long. The menu was small but had a good selection. They had an oyster menu that we enjoyed. Everything we ordered was tasty. The only feedback we had was some things were heavy on the salt. Ahi tartar could have been better balanced. High on the soy and could have used some acid. Fish on the fish and chips were excellent but the fries need work. It took away from a dish that could have been amazing. Portions were generous. Prices were friendly. Service was spectacular in that they split plates without fuss or charge. Water glasses were always full. It was a beautiful Saturday night and we made a reservation online for the patio. Our server was really nice and gave recommendations. We started with the cast iron cornbread, which came out hot and quick. My group all really enjoyed this with the melty honey butter. I ordered the salmon with the whipped potatoes. It was a nice portion and was cooked well, but the spinach was too salty for my liking. The flavor of the coconut cream pie was good, but the crust was not my favorite. The entrance was a little hard to find as you see the patio in the corner first (depending on where you park). The noise from Speedway can get pretty loud if sitting in the patio. So here we go! I've been waiting for a decent restaurant in this complex for a long time. Not since Presidio Grill a very long time ago has there been a hot new restaurant.
