I've been to Miramonte twice now. The first time we sat in the bar area in one of the small booths to celebrate my birthday. I loved the little booth - it felt intimate and blocked some of the noise from the main dining room. The second time I sat in the main dining area and it definitely can get a little loud over there. I've tried the five onion dip and cast iron cornbread. Both were very good. The onion dip was creamy with lovely homemade chips. The cornbread wasn't really spicy from the chiles which is a fear of mine as someone who cannot handle spice. The seared salmon was cooked beautifully and the sauce had a great flavor without being overwhelmingly mustardy. I've also tried the crispy chicken sandwich and I really liked the slaw. It gave a little sweetness and a nice fresh crunch to the fried chicken. For a place located in a strip mall next to Whole Foods, it had a nice ambiance and some good food for a reasonable price. I haven't tried deserts yet - maybe next time! read more

From when I arrived to when I left it was a wonderful experience. I don't remember our waiter's name, but he was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the menu, fun and made our experience even better. My friend had been there before, and loved the salmon so much, she ordered it again and wasn't disappointed. I tried the mustard-caper beurre-blanc sauce and it was delicious. I had the Chicken Under a Brick. The chicken was moist and so flavorful. The mashed potatoes were delicious and the kale was bright, perfectly cooked and so good. We finished off birthday our double birthday celebration with amazingly delicious key lime pie. I'll be back! read more

Lots of potential here, but also aspects that need work. The inside is obviously adorable and looks like a super fun place to grab drinks and food with friends. I haven't tried any of their cocktails yet, but some of them sounded amazing - especially the salty snack. Cocktail bars in Tucson, we need more savory and salty cocktails! I will definitely be trying it next time I go. As for the food, it was good. We started with the grilled artichoke with aioli, and that was awesome. The aioli was fresh and slightly garlicky. For my entree, I had the fish and chips, which seems to be one of the most popular items here. The fish was haddock, not your typical cod, and it was juicy with a good fry. No complaints, except that the batter could have been a little thinner. I was disappointed by the fries, though. They were a bit limp, not really crispy at all, and lacked flavor. For a dish called fish and chips, I'd hope the chips would be just as good as the fish, so that was definitely a letdown. The star of the show for me, however, was somehow the COLESLAW - it was amazing! Perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and a bit savory, not too heavy on the mayo, and they use cilantro in it (?!?!) -- which I've never seen done before, but it was actually so good. The herbaceous flavor of the cilantro complimented the coleslaw perfectly. Next time I make coleslaw myself, I'm taking a page out of their book and adding cilantro. I also had an oyster. It was very fresh, briny, and slightly sweet, all of the things you look for in a good oyster. I enjoyed the mignonette and the fresh horseradish that came with it as well. I only ordered one, but it was honestly pretty small. I know that smaller is usually better in the oyster world, but this was about the size of a half dollar. Hopefully they source some slightly bigger ones in the future. Overall, I'm appreciative of the concept and another spot in town trying to serve interesting cocktails, oysters, and entrees, but hoping quality will improve in a few areas. What a solid experience from start to finish! It makes such a difference--especially when dealing with food allergies--when the waitress knows every ingredient in each dish without having to run back to the kitchen. That level of knowledge and confidence immediately put us at ease. Service was excellent all around. The cast iron cornbread is an absolute must. It's incredible--but be warned, you'll want at least four people to help tackle it! I may have gone a little overboard because by the time our fish and chips arrived, I was nearly full. The fish was light, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The fries came out slightly cold, but they happily replaced them with a fresh, hot batch right away. My wife really enjoyed the coleslaw (not usually my thing), and even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist ordering the Baked Alaska. That toasted marshmallow exterior over ice cream and sponge cake was the perfect sweet finish--delicious and beautifully done. Huge portions, great prices, a beautiful atmosphere, comfortable seating, and drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert all for under $100. I honestly can't say enough good things about this dinner. I had the pan seared salmon with capers on a bed of spinach and mashed potato. Perfectly done and a nice thick cut of salmon. For dessert, I had their signature Key Lime pie, which did not disappoint. Service: Excellent. Ambiance: classy. Last note: I am truly flummoxed by the sub-4 stars on Yelp. I ordered the onion rings, cornbread and filet. Trust me don't leave here without trying the cornbread! Hatch green Chile with jack cheese and sweet corn topped with honey butter in a cast iron. I wanted to love this place, particularly after quickly learning their patio is pup friendly. But similar to others, we had what I believe was a not so great server. Hostess, super friendly and welcoming - seated us right away. The restaurant has a very cool industrial and open vibe and I loved the aesthetic. We chose the patio as it was still pretty mild in terms of warmth and I could quickly tell that our server was not the best in comparison to the other two ladies with tables on the patio. Without getting into a complete diatribe (I could write paragraphs) about what happened - I will simply say our server did not have a good grasp in ensuring his assigned tables were taken care of. After being there 50 minutes, we made the decision to leave after only receiving our shrimp cocktail appetizer early on and never seeing our two sandwiches. We had no idea where our server was (he did not come outside often) so I just went up to the front to settle the bill and the manager was with the hostess up there. We will just say that within a minute of the manager being looped in - our food magically appeared (albeit not very warm) and our server clueless that he had literally told us 30 minutes prior that our "food will be right out". He ended up blaming it entirely on the kitchen to us (I do not believe him - I saw other servers quickly and efficiently bringing food to their tables) The manager was kind enough to comp both sandwiches. My husband said the French Dip was very good. My sandwich could have been good if not great except the bottom bun was soaked through, maybe from sitting somewhere too long. The menu has some really great items and while our experience was not so great from an overall perspective I would maybe come back given the pup friendly patio and as long as I did not have the same server we had this first visit. read more

First visit to Miramonte and it was really nice. Menu is an interesting mix of Mediterranean and fusion dishes. Wine list impressive but a tad pricey. Think special occasion prices. They've been open just under a year and it appears to be a smooth dining experience. Sat on the patio which was lovely. Inside was well appointed but noisy. Service was excellent, quick, efficient and friendly. I had a steak and noodle melange to which I added some salmon. It was good but not as spicy as I expected, which was a bit disappointing. A beautiful modern space for lunch or dinner. I like the vibes and decor of the place but the echos of all the chatter were loud and distracting. I'm hoping the acoustics can somehow be fixed because I came before it was busy and I can't imagine how it would be during peak. I noticed that the hostess took calls outside. Our server was great and attentive. Food was enjoyable and the drink menu is extensive. I got the elderflower mocktail and it tasted fresh and lovely. For food, I started with the ahi tuna tartare and had the pan seared salmon. Everything was tasty. Had lunch at this new spot, and it is a nicely designed restaurant. I love the look and feel of the bar especially very clean modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. I ordered the grilled fish of the day which was swordfish and coleslaw. The reason I gave a 4 star is just for this, the swordfish was server over the coleslaw, which caused the fish to taste like the coleslaw sauce. I would have preferred it to be on the side and not on top, but maybe someone would like it that way. We also had the ahi tuna app which was amazing with wonton chips. The chicken under a brick with kale and panzanella was very flavorful and the chicken under was cooked amazingly. The fish and chips was very good as well. This is a really cute restaurant the aesthetic is really nice. It's a nice addition to the plaza since it's had a facelift recently. I'm honestly impressed with the service I had with it only being open just over a week, I made reservations (highly recommended) and we were seated within minutes. The drink menu is wide, if you're a wine person this place is up your alley for sure they have a wide selection. They do have really nice NA options too. I had the elderflower mocktail which was delicious but I'm not sure was worth the price tag but I knew what I was getting into looking at the menu beforehand. For an appetizer we had the green chile cornbread and its delicious, crispy edges and packed with flavor. The main course I had the chicken under a brick which was a quarter chicken with nice herbs, lemon and fresh kale with a dressing. Overall it was well done, flavor was great, it could've been a salad with how much kale it had but I mean this is something a home cook could execute pretty easily. I had a side of Mac and cheese which was nice, it has a complex flavor I think they use a non traditional nutty cheese but it added a nice layer of depth to a simple side. My friend had the rigatoni, super fresh dish with the veggies and crème fresh. We shared the Oreo chocolate pie which was really good but also very rich. Was I blown away? No. But the service was great, food was executed well and it's cute! I hope to see an evolution of the menu eventually. read more

All the wait staff were friendly and interesting to talk with while I had food and drink at the bar. The 50/50 martini was tasty and clean tasting the way a martini should and extra yummy because of the blue cheese stuffed olives. I had the fish and chips. They didn't skimp on the portions. It is highly recommended to make a reservation, so I had a 5:15 reservation on a Sunday and even on a Sunday night it was a full house. Ruby was our server and our service was exceptional. We asked for her thoughts on whether to order one item or another anv she was super helpful! It was my husband's birthday dinner and he was thrilled with his choice of a French Dip sandwich. He said it was the best he's had in years! I had the dish and chips, which was also so good! We started with the onion dip appetizer and I would recommend that too. Went here for a date night a few weeks ago, after trying to go a month ago, but being turned away due to how busy it was. This time I made reservations, and was quickly sat once we arrived. The restaurant was still pretty bustling on Friday night around 7:30 PM. My husband and I sat in a booth, and we ordered the cornbread appetizer, as well as the ahi appetizer. The cornbread was soft, and had a bit of sweetness to it. It was good. It was also enough for 4 to 5 people I would say. We also ordered the steak and noodle salad, which was pretty unique and very enjoyable for us both. I would definitely order it again. For our meals, I got the rigatoni with chicken, which I liked, and my husband got the crispy chicken sandwich with no complaint. The only thing about the meal I dislike was the drink I ordered . I was looking for a sweeter drink and trying to avoid the more tart ones. Our server recommended the drink I ordered, though I cannot remember its name. Once I got it, I instantly hated it. I commend our server for really trying to make it right and ensuring that I liked it. It was apparent to me that there was an excess of lime in that drink that was really making it unbearable. They were busy on a Sunday night and it took a while for our table to be approached and a little bit before our drink and food orders were taken. Not a huge deal as the wait wasn't exceptionally long. The menu was small but had a good selection. They had an oyster menu that we enjoyed. Everything we ordered was tasty. The only feedback we had was some things were heavy on the salt. Ahi tartar could have been better balanced. High on the soy and could have used some acid. Fish on the fish and chips were excellent but the fries need work. It took away from a dish that could have been amazing. Portions were generous. Prices were friendly. Service was spectacular in that they split plates without fuss or charge. Water glasses were always full. Absolutely loved our experience dining here a couple weeks ago. My friend and I made a reservation in advance but ended up sitting at the bar. The overall vibe was awesome for a Thursday night. Our server was prompt, so helpful and was never hard to find. We both opted for the espresso martinis which came practically another drink as a sidecar. It was a beautiful Saturday night and we made a reservation online for the patio. Our server was really nice and gave recommendations. We started with the cast iron cornbread, which came out hot and quick. My group all really enjoyed this with the melty honey butter. I ordered the salmon with the whipped potatoes. It was a nice portion and was cooked well, but the spinach was too salty for my liking. The flavor of the coconut cream pie was good, but the crust was not my favorite. The entrance was a little hard to find as you see the patio in the corner first (depending on where you park). The noise from Speedway can get pretty loud if sitting in the patio. I didn't get to see the inside of the restaurant as I went straight in to the patio, but it looked really modern. read more

So here we go! I've been waiting for a decent restaurant in this complex for a long time. Not since Presidio Grill a very long time ago has there been a hot new restaurant. Service was terrible. Waited 10 min after being seated before the server ever came by. Waited another 10 for the menu. No idea if shift break was in the middle of our service but our server kept disappearing. Food took forever to come out for the two of us despite watching other tables being seated & receiving foods after we sat down. I think the server lost our ticket. Made reservations about 10 days in advance b/c Saturday nights fill up fast. Beautiful restaurant, but I agree with some of the other comments about the acoustics - it can be very hard to hear others at your table in there. We started with the grilled artichoke, five onion dip and then to our surprise, they had a nice chilled shellfish selection, so we had oysters and shrimp. Unfortunately, they were out of my husband's fav oysters (Blue Points), but he said they ones he switched out for were good. All of the starters were very good, but I thought the artichoke may have been undercooked a bit. Next time, I'd get the cornbread instead of the artichoke. We waited about 45 minutes between the starters and the entrees for the food to come. But everything was delicious. I had the salmon and the other members of the party had the steak and noodle salad (which was massive!), french dip and grilled cheese. All excellent! Service was good, but a little up and down. Plenty of team members to help with clearing plates, filling water, etc, but there would be times where our server would disappear for more than 20 minutes. She looked quite overwhelmed, but was very pleasant. We weren't in any rush, so it was no big deal to us, but if we were, it would have been a problem. We were at the table for over 2 hours and I'm sure they would prefer to turn them over faster than that. We tried the key lime pie for dessert and it was also delicious. That came out very fast. We will definitely go back. They are probably still working out many of the "new restaurant issues", but overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner and the food was great. read more

Friend and I were really looking forward to trying Miramonte. I made a reservation, as suggested on their website, for indoor dining. 1. There is no signage on the door so we ended up walking around to the back, then back around to the front. We found the doors and walked inside. 2. It was dark and extremely noisy (some baffling on the ceiling is needed) so we opted to dine on the patio instead. A server was with us quickly and we ordered drinks and perused the menu. Friend ordered the cornbread, and shrimp, off the appetizer list. I ordered the steak/noodle salad. 3. The food came out fairly quickly, 10 minutes or so. My salad was overdressed to the point where the dressing was pooling in the bottom of the dish. The steak was tender and well seasoned and there was a lot of it. The cornbread was delicious, warm and a little sweet. The shrimp were boiled properly. Our server was attentive. The table next to us had oysters on the half shell. They looked delicious! 4. I asked for a to-go container for the rest of my salad, thinking I could add some rice to soak up some of the dressing for a second meal. Te server bought a container that was way too big for the amount of salad that I had left. I asked for a bag to put the container in. I also asked for a smaller container - the server stated that I had already used the larger container that I was given, so "no". The server brought the bag and put the salad container (on it's side) in the bag. 5. When I got home, the dressing in the container had leaked out, through the bag and on to my leather car seat. That was not fun to clean up and it stained the leather. People have been complaining about the noise inside since this place opened and management has done nothing to fix it, which is telling. It's too bad because the food is really good. We won't be back until we read a review that says these issues have been resolved. read more

Delish! We were at Miramonte for brunch. While it's not a brunch menu, we were still able to find the right food to satisfy all tastes. I loved the Hatch Chili Corn Bread! Green Chili Cornbread was just the right blend of sweet and savory, artichokes were perfectly prepared, Filet was spot on, Brick Chicken was a tiny bit dry and wine list was well crafted with a few personal favorites. My guess is they just keep getting better just like Locale and Contigo. One word of caution, with nothing but hard surfaces and open spaces it's a bit noisy. read more
