Pot Belly is the best sandwich shop in Tucson. Without a doubt. Today I got their original roast beef and provolone with my choice of custom toppings along with a perfectly toasted base sandwich. From the sandwich maker to the toppings adder and the final checkout every one is always friendly and helpful. And the sandwich is always great tasting. Chairs, stools and table seating is comfortable. So many great choices on the menu I can't think of any reason to go anywhere else. I can't believe this is the only Tucson store. read more

I'll admit it--I would never have stopped here on my own because the name Potbelly Sandwich Shop sounds like pure carnivorous hog heaven... and it's absolutely not that. Surprise of the day: this is actually a solid, thoughtfully done sandwich spot with vegetarian options and easy vegan modifications. They offer salads, pickles, good bread choices, and even the option to scoop out the inside of the bread for a lighter, veggie-forward bite (which I appreciated). Service was great, the space felt welcoming, and I loved seeing their community wall and family-friendly initiatives like kids-eat-free days. Honestly, it makes Subway look pretty rough by comparison. Firstly let me preface my review with my background before the review. I'm a 80 yr old Jewish man who has lived my first 70 years as a New Yorker having eaten untold hundreds of Deli meals at numerous places all over the city and across America. I ordered a corned beef sandwich on rye with a side order of potato salad. The sandwich meat was not from a steam table and sliced to order. It lacked the signature pink color, sweetness and moisture expected. Instead it probably was warmed on a griddle and resulted in a dark brownish color with most of the moisture absent. Then assembled ala a grilled cheese sandwich on the griddle resulting in the bread loosing its body. The amount of meat was probably a third of what is normally provided. It came with 2 small pickle spears which bore no resemblance to any flavor profile I've ever tasted and were totally inedible. I also tried a side order of their potato salad. It's consistency was ok but was bland and needed seasoning. Finally I had a can of Dr. Brown's Celray soda which lived up to it's reputation. Overall was not a good experience and priced too high for the lack of quantity and quality. read more

So I am originally from Chicago and that is where Potbelly was born :) I had lived in Reno for the past 5 yrs and there weren't any Potbellys there. So while parusing the area I saw this litte gem! I ordered the wreck (classic sandy) and I ordered it togo and purchesed it thru Grubhub on here. Of course all my dreams were imagined when I took that first delicious bite of what I think is the best sandwich ever made by a man ( ok I do love Cheeseteaks and Reubens too) The only reason for not giving 5 stars? The food never disappoints, consistently good. Service is friendly but a little aloof about anticipating customer needs. I ordered a chicken pot pie soup but had to ask for a spoon after the fact ( I was already sitting and helping my child get situated, when I realized we had no spoon). We stopped in for a quick lunch while out shopping one weekend. It was a cold, rainy day so our choice were a bowl of soup and a pick your paid of soup and a sandwich. We both chose the baked potato soup which was thick, creamy, and had good flavor. It was boiling hot and took a while to cool down before we could try to eat it. The turkey sandwich was decent but seemed to be lacking a little in the turkey department. I also picked up a pack of mini oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and they were just okay, nothing I'd order again. I would like to go back and try a regular sandwich and see how it fairs. read more

I went to Potbelly a lot when I lived in Baltimore, but this was my first time back home in Tucson. My work ordered some food from there, subs and chips. I have to say the subs were legit. Roast beef and Turkey subs, cut in 4 inch little subs. The flavor was good without the jalapeno pepper topping, but hello topper! The jalapeno /pepper addition that came on the side was just what the subs needed to elevate it to the next level. Oh, they also included a number of sliced picked. Mm mm mm. I like how simple their menu is and that they have shakes good standard toppings but I do wish they had more condiments like honey mustard and hot sauces (just as a personal preference) I love the potbelly they have and their decor! Love the sandwiches and the service. We've been to this one on Broadway several times and the people seem glad to help us except sometimes the cashier. We had an equally good experience at a Potbelly in Phoenix the first time. Every sandwich we've tried has been good but I'm partial to the "A Wreck" one. It has turkey, ham, roast beef, and salami. So we stopped in for lunch and immediately upon walking in it was like I could feel tension in the air. No sooner the young lady who asked for our order was clearly having a bad day and no issue sharing her personal at home issues with another co worker going into detail like HELLO I AM A CUSTOMER'!!! I do not care to hear about your man's inability to satisfy her orally!!!! I am not making this up my wife changed her mind about eating here and just ordered a drink, she then asked to use the restroom this same employee proceeded to inform my wife that in order to use the restroom you have to purchase a sandwich!!!!! I've been on a sandwich kick, and boy am I thrilled I came here. It took longer for me to decide what to eat than it did for me to eat it! It was absolutely delicious. I had the Mediterranean sandwich on flatbread, and instead of chicken I substituted it for tuna.
