Delcious!!!! This is vegetarian restaurant is excellent in taste! I got the jackfruit tacos and they were ammmmazing! I am not vegetarian, and I couldn't tell this was jackfruit! The menu is always changing but there is a good selection to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I also bought some sage while I was there!

They have expanded the restaurant since the last time I was there. There's 3 big rooms for dining, a salsa bar, and 2 self serve water stations. There's also desserts, and gifts available. I tried the special coconut curry. It was sautéed vegetables with yellow curry a with a side of beans and rice. It was good and plenty of food. Service was great. Very friendly and quick. Parking is tough in front of the restaurant but there's parking across the street.

Turmerico is such a gem in Tucson's food scene. I haven't been in a while since it's a bit of a schlep for me, but every time I do go, it's fantastic. The food is fresh, truly healthy, plant-based, and the portions are very generous. The staff is always kind and gracious, and the whole place has a relaxed, casual vibe--nothing pretentious. I do miss some of the variety of bowls they used to offer. Since I'm not big on "fake" meat (though the jackfruit is actually really good), I went with the veggie curry bowl, and it was absolutely delicious. My husband and daughter, who usually prefer the real meat, each chose a different jackfruit burrito, and they both really liked their dishes. And the chips and guac are not to be missed!

LOVE Tumerico! Everything is always delicious They are good about asking if vegan or vegetarian to accommodate.

As a Yelp Elite who is constantly chasing down plant-forward gems, I genuinely cannot believe I haven't written about Tumerico yet. This place is a staple for me. A regular. A comfort spot. And every single time, it delivers. Led by an award-winning chef (and no, this isn't even her only concept -- which makes it even more impressive), Tumerico is fully plant-based, vegetarian, and wildly vegan-friendly in a way that feels intentional, not trendy. Nothing feels like an afterthought here. It's creative, flavorful, and satisfying in a way that even non-vegans would appreciate. Let's talk tacos. We had the Cuban and the al pastor -- both completely vegan -- topped with this dreamy cashew crema that just ties everything together. Savory, layered, balanced. You don't miss a single thing. Add in a solid salsa bar and you're building bites exactly how you want them. And the lattes? Generous. Like actually generous. Around $6 and you're getting full, flavorful cups -- matcha, horchata lattes, spicy options, creative twists. Not watered down. Not tiny. They don't skimp. They've also got a rotating selection of vegan bakery treats that make it way too easy to justify "just one more thing." The vibe is unfussy, colorful, community-driven -- the kind of place where you can pop in for a casual lunch, bring a friend who "doesn't usually do vegan," or sit solo with a latte and feel completely at home. Tumerico isn't trying to prove anything. It just quietly serves some of the best plant-based food in Tucson. Five stars. Always.

Finally made a trip out to Tucson and I have been wanting to try this vegetarian spot ever since it was ranked number 1 restaurant in the USA by Yelp in 2024. My friend ordered the cuban tacos and I got the al pastor (without cheese) - both so delicious and flavorful! We couldn't even tell it was all plant-based. The rice that it came with was good as well. Truly a gem and the workers were all so nice. Would come back to try other menu items.

We were 8 hungry runners and we all loved our meals. The service is very fast and efficient. They took our order when we walked in and we found lots of seating options even for our large group on a Saturday at 6pm. The place is comfortable and very spread out without it feeling like everyone is seating on top of each other. I ordered the Salma Hayek burrito (as did three others) and it was delicious. I loved the rice and beans and salad also. I also had the horchata and wished I had gotten one to go.

I was really excited to try this spot when it popped up on my search. I was out with my dogs and looking for a dog friendly spot- I was surprised when they said I could sit anywhere with them. The dining area is quite large with multiple rooms. The woman helping me order was super friendly and explained the menu very well. I ordered the tamale plate off their regular menu. The tamale was moist and spicy! The greens had such a great texture and the beans were some of the best I've had. They also have a salsa bar with 4 salsas of varying spices.

It's crazy that this restaurant has been open for 12 years and we had not visited before!! I have to say this is by far one of favorite Mexican places to eat now. The food was delicious and fresh. The service was fast and super friendly. Will definitely be back to try something new and bring family and relatives. My husband loved that there was FREE COFFEE..... lol

"This doesn't even taste like vegan. It just tastes good." -- my meat-eating mother-in-law said it best. We loved our lunch at Tumerico in Tucson -- it was delicious, interesting, and left us feeling satisfied without feeling heavy. The menu is entirely vegan, with options to add cheese (and eggs at breakfast), which makes it easy for mixed-diet groups. We tried the cactus tacos, Cuban taco (jackfruit), and the Frida Kahlo tostadas -- which were the clear winner at our table, especially the crispy, veggie-loaded tostada. So flavorful and satisfying. The house-made horchata and turmeric lemonade were both excellent, the guacamole was delicious, and the salsa bar is a great bonus. Friendly staff, quick service, and chips + guac arrived almost immediately. We'd definitely go back.

Enjoyed lunch here today. The only issue is it gets super loud so it is very difficult to carry a conversation The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. My food was delicious... I can't stand it when the bathroom doesn't have a hook for my bag....

    Spinach salad, Beans, rice. delicious.

My work Holiday party gave us several places to choose from for dinner. I picked Tumerico, and once again this place did not disappoint. This was a to go order, and I ordered the Tumerico Burrito. (Tumerico vegan carnitas, garlic cilantro sauce, beans, rice, salsa, cashew cream, in a flour tortilla. with spinach salad on side.). The massive burrito was ah-may-zing! I am not vegan, but the complex flavors and seasonings in the burrito ...completely made me forget this was vegan! The spinach salad was most excellent s well, and left me wanting more. Tumerico has set the bar for vegan restaurants. Well thought out complex flavors to elevate Tumerico to the next level.

    Carnitas and Tacos. Delicious!

Yup this place lives up to the hype! I'm a meat eater but would not mind coming back to this restaurant over and over again! They greet you with a smile and are happy to walk you through the entire menu as you wait to order. They have all the classic Mexican dishes, but vegetarian. We got the carnitas and some tacos. Everything was delicious and fresh, but the carnitas were fire!! I could eat that all day. The tortillas were great and the salsas paired well with all the food. We also enjoyed their pressed beet juice. Overall an amazing restaurant with great character and delicious food! A must try.

Do we need reservations for 2 for Friday, 7/18?

No you do not need reservations! You order at the counter and they give you a number then find a table and they will bring your food out!

Does this restaurant have real meat options (beef, chicken, pork and/or fish)?

    They do not

    Z?lf ok no

My truck accident case was resolved so quickly and professionally by United Attorney that I was amazed at their efficiency. Their attention to detail and dedication to securing the best outcome exceeded my expectations and gave me much-needed peace…

Where are dogs allowed? Is there a patio? How many tables are dog friendly?

Puede pedir que les pongan mesa afuera. Igual los perros si son permitidos dentro del restaurante. Aman a los perros. Yo he ido con el mio.

Is there a liquor license and if not, can I BYOB!?

I don't believe so! I don't know with 100% certainty, but they don't sell alcohol and I've never seen anyone drinking.

Do you serve breakfast all day?

Not really. If they have ingredients for something later in the day, they will sometimes make it. But, in my experience, this is hit or miss.

How well is the sanitation, especially during this pandemic?

Visited the restaurant couple of days and I feel they were taking good care maintaining the precautions due to covid. The restaurant was very clean, , staff and patrons were wearing masks and tables were cleaned after the table was used.

Do they have gluten free options?

Yup almost anything can be made gluten free with a corn tortilla or even no tortilla. They are very mindful of all allergies

What kind of prices ? Do they have lunch specials?

Very reasonable pricing. Menus change daily, so every day is special.

Is Tumerico large enough to accommodate a party of 9 or 10? I don't want to overwhelm or take up all the tables.

Yes, Wendy would be happy to serve. We hosted a 25 person event there and she is delightful to work with.

When is the brunch menu available?

The brunch menu is available every day upon opening.

Assuming this is mostly a lunch place?

This place is for breakfast lunch and dinner!! Breakfast is awesome! Dinner is only on weekends sadly.

It's not going to be the best you ever had in your life, and if you've been to Southern China, you're not going to be blown away. HOWEVER, it is the homemade taste that makes it good. It doesn't feel like any other restaurant, it feels like you are at somebody's house. Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. Even better, the menu is laid out in a way that it is easy to understand: gluten-free options, allergies, and spice level. The service was great. All though it isn't a "full" sit-down restaurant, everybody there seemed to know the menu well and was happy to be there. As a Cantonese person, it was nice hearing my language being spoken in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and very modern. We came during early dinner time so the parking lot was near empty and easy to park. Overall, if you've never had Southern Chinese food or are looking for something more authentic than classic Chinese takeaway, definitely check out this location. The cherry on top are the big portion sizes and the price.

We made reservations and I'm glad we did as this is an extremely small space. We were seated at the bar where they have their kitchen. Generally we don't like sitting at the bar but it was nice to watch the crew make food. It's impressive what they can do with this small space. Very small menu- My husband and I are sober so we are always looking for spots with good NA/ mocktail options but it fell short here so we just got a bottle of sparkling water. We ordered the butter pecan salad which was amazing. Loved everything about it, I was hesitant that they only had butter lettuce but I think I appreciated the soft lettuce with the crunch of the apple and pecans in it. The dressing was phenomenal. For a pizza we got just the pepperoni, I saw a lot of margarita pizzas with pepperoni being made and I think we would've liked that option better with the fresh chunks of mozzarella. The cheese they use for the regular pizza is a very strong flavor, probably a nice aged parm so that really came through. We are sauce people so it was hard to appreciate the sauce with the strong profile of the cheese which is why I think we would've liked the margarita pizza better We had the panna cotta for desert and my husband LOVED it. They prep it in advance in cute little mason jars. Overall not a bad spot. Service was great, salad was phenomenal. I think if we would've had a table and maybe tried a different pizza this would've made our top 5 spots for pizza.

My mom and I were on a girls trip and we enjoy eating healthfully whenever we can. That's not to say we don't also love desserts! We heard this place was vegetarian and were intrigued. Walking in from the parking lot, we were struck at how beautiful the whole temple/grounds were. Beautiful art/water features and statues. The food changes daily, I believe, but on our visit there was a salad bar (with spinach and lettuce options, shredded carrot, cucumber, two kinds of sprouts, chickpeas, grape tomatoes, and zucchini- also don't miss the delicious dressings! I got seconds on salad so I could try multiple dressings!). There was also brown rice and yellow rice options, steamed veggies and curry veggies, coconut chutney, chowmein, and vegan pizza. Oh and rice pudding and halva. Everything was simple and delicious. They have signs on the table about the food being prepared with the utmost cleanliness and love and I believe it. We sat inside (even though the courtyard was beautiful, it was still a bit sunny). Inside they were playing pan flute music and there was the gentle gurgle of a water feature and large crystals lining the wall. Heck yeah! After dinner we wandered around the grounds, admiring everything. I particularly enjoyed seeing Sufi the white turkey, and the peacocks, the pheasants, and the parrots! They were all adorable and seemed happy. The koi pond was also very zen and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this spot with the caveat that it's not for everyone- you have to go in with the knowledge you're eating simply, and all vegetarian, and you're entering a space where others live and worship. For the price, this was a great bargain. I'd love to visit again one day!

Food arrived just 15 min later and was piping hot and delicious. The lasagna is a good sized portion (roughly 5x7) and is generously filled with meat. Taste is amazing with medium-firm pasta and a nice crust across the top and sides. The ricotta calzone came with a side of marinara (yay) for dipping as there is no sauce inside. Roughly 2 dozen toppings are available, ranging from $3-$8+. I opted for the meatballs ($8.50) and was slightly disappointed. The meatballs are crumbled within the calzone (understandable) but not pronounced in quantity. I would prefer larger pieces (halves work at this size - after all I ordered meat-ball not meet-ground ;) However, for $8 (a 75% upcharge) my chief gripe is that I was simply expecting more. Next time pepperoni/mushrooms! Ambiance is lovely and waitstaff were awesome -- gracious, knowledgeable about menu specifics, and attentive. Parking is free/easy at this corner of a small strip mall. Can't wait to try their new Detroit menu too! Note: due to Rene's smaller size (less than 10 tables total) and high demand, all reservations (any day) require a credit card to hold. This is entirely understandable as even one no-show is a measurable hit to keeping a full house. I also have kids yet 100% embrace their patio-only policy when with kiddos. This literal mom/pop venue (they have kids too) tries to do the impossible balance between clientele and intimate, high-end dining (we simply accommodate by getting take out when feeding the Whole family ;)

Need to come back to try every other pizza! lol…read more A friend suggested this place for a get-together. They don't take reservations, and we knew to expect a wait, so a friend volunteered to stop in early to get our name on the list (this was around 5:30 PM, right before happy hour ended)! The restaurant is a cozy space. It was the middle of summer, so we opted for an indoor table, meaning a wait was certain. They do have a nice patio section, so I'm sure wait times will be much shorter or nil once we return in the fall or winter, or as soon as the temperatures drop! As soon as we were seated, we ordered drinks in time to catch the happy hour specials. We each got a drink and the meatball entree to share. We opted for the entree over the small plate because it came with 3 meatballs rather than just one. For entrees, I got the Figgy Piggy pizza. OMG, this pizza was sooo good! Sweet and savory! It features a fig jam base, mozzarella, prosciutto, lemon parmesan, balsamic drizzle, and arugula. One friend got the classic pepperoni and the other got the meatball lasagna. I got to taste the lasagna, and it was rich and flavorful. That lasagna serving was massive. One slice is easily enough for at least two people! The estimated wait for two was 10 minutes so we grabbed drinks and headed upstairs to their cute/loft lounge. As we passed the entrance we already heard the host increasing wait time to 20 minutes. For drinks she had got the house red cabernet and for me the bartender and I whipped up a little custom cocktail (see pic). Moments later our table was ready. Note: Penelope operates on a novel "community-waiter" system so don't be confused if a totally different person comes by to: take appetizers, check on you, order entrees, check on you again, and order dessert! We've often had four different staff during a meal here and all are super friendly with experience-filled opinions about everything on the menu. We ordered the Burrata and Tomatoes app which arrived in barely 5 minutes - the cheese is traditionally mozzarella-like but here it was almost ricotta-soft... and melded deliciously with the mildly acidic slices of ripe tomato and lots of pistachio pesto (nice twist chef!). We split the Sgt Pepper pizza this time, craving both sausage and roasted chilis. It arrived in 15 minutes with ample sausage and just a few burnt bubbles (totally ok because we know these thin-crusts must be flash broiled at super high temps (around 1k degrees). We demolished the 'za but both of us would like to have seen a bit more green chili. We were looking forward to the olive oil cake however, at 7pm, they had just sold the last slice (confirmed by our "second dessert waiter" who wandered by a few minutes later ;) Atmosphere is casual-elevated and sound levels aren't bad despite the density of tables - likely due to the 20 foot tall ceilings. Parking is free/easy in their private lot and it appears they do a popular takeout business too. We are both looking forward to their return to downtown this fall with Penelope's II !
