I have been craving wings lately, so I came in to try them out. I was seated promptly and the server (tall, really long brown hair worn down, nice smile with a laid-back hippy vibe) approached me to take my order. Initially, I requested water but changed my mind and ordered a diet coke in a ToGo cup because I never finish those things. I had to flag my server down after waiting 5-10 minutes to get it. The Diet Coke came in an 10 oz. clear cup with 5 teeny melted ice cubes floating on the surface of the drink. The server was otherwise pleasant and helpful regarding my menu selection. I ordered 5 buffalo and 5 hot honey wings. The menu says it comes with carrots and celery--apparently, it does not. They will give you some if you ask (whuh?) Just them how many. My server with the 8"bare midriff at my eye level never checked back with me after I had a few bites of my wings. Neither wing sauce/rub was crave-worthy. The problem was that the wings had been dropped in the fryer twice or 3 times to reheat when an order came in. I know for sure the owner would flip if they knew their wings are being served that way. The skin was not crispy--it was hard and desiccated like those pig's ears sold for dogs. Same color too. The joints were rock hard and easy to spit out. The chicken meat was surprisingly moist-ish, tasty and copious for a wing. The poke-y skin would have caused pain in the soft tissues if you did not carefully navigate whilst biting into said wing. In restaurants, It's customary to bring an extra plate for the bones (and the rock-like joint material in this instance). Think ribs, mussels/clams or ribs--plates for these are usually brought to the table. The hot towel is a nice touch though. Unfortunately, I was not done eating when the hot towel arrived and when I was finally ready, it had already cooled. Plates were not bussed, ToGo box not offered, nor was the Coke re-iced and topped off. I had to twist in my chair to finally find my server behind me. While she was sweet and expressive, I was never a high priority. If you come to Redbird, get a hamburger. read more

Stopped into Redbird for the first time for a quick lunch and had a great experience. The food was spectacular across the board. I especially liked the black bean burger which was hands down the best black bean burger I've ever had. The Redbird margarita is one of the better margaritas I've had in a long time with a perfectly balanced salty, sweet, heat chile/salt rimmed glass. As a vegetarian, I can be picky with finding good veggie burgers. Red bird scratch kitchen has a great veggie burger option for people who would like that. Additionally, their fries are portioned very well, and their mac & cheese is excellent. Updating my review because I have yet to find a better quesabirria taco in Tucson. I had them at an event and went to the restaurant to see if they made them the same way as at the event, and they sure do. The tortilla is covered with the consommé and perfectly crispy, they're loaded with meat and just the right amount of cheese. I could eat a plate of these tacos weekly. Absolutely delicious! We shared the elote nachos with birria. Portion was huge and flavors were on 1000. We also tried their wings. I had the chile lime dry rub and loved it and my boy friend had the honey soy ginger which were pretty good as well (I wished more ginger came through!) service was great and friendly. The server saved us from ordering a burger as well I also had the margarita on happy hour which was yummy but it was Monday and they also had martini specials. Came here on a date! It was okay. The layout is cramped and it's loud. The ambiance is confusing and reminds me of a Chili's but cramped and brighter. I initially ordered the loaded wings in the jerk flavor. I tried the jerk sauce before ordering which was great. However on the wings not so much. There were a few issues. 1.) I asked for the wings fried hard. When they came out room temperate, I imagine that they have wings pre-fried hard to keep up with service which is gross. Also the wings are not cooked in the sauce so although the sauce was good...the under-seasoned wings paired with the sauce made for a not so good combination. I sent everything back and went for the Nashville got chicken sandwich which was SPICY but man was it GOOOD. I would definitely order that again. My date got the harvest salad with shrimp which was okay. It has some exciting things in there but the shrimp were essentially popcorn shrimp which I think is inappropriate for a restaurant this expensive. I orders two margarita. The first was perfect but the second was off. Almost as if a blanco was used for the first and mezcal for the second. It needed to be remade. Our server Olivia was very patient and understanding throughout the dining experience. Overall would not recommend. People seem to love this place and based off the recommendations to come here I thought I would have too. read more

Cocktails are good, the Mexican Street Corn was delicious, and now they encourage getting tortilla chips to eat it either, which was fun. Drinks were solid. Food was surprisingly good, I didn't have any expectations. It was a last minute choice for dinner. The elote nachos are not to be missed and I'm not a huge nacho person. Typically, nachos have some toppings and the bottom is all chips, not here. The sauce and toppings went all the way to the bottom, they layer it in. I have never had nachos as good as these, they are the best nachos I have ever had. The corn was super sweet, spicy peppers mixed in and the queso was the creamiest. The amount of effort and dedication to the quality and flavorful toppings and sauces was insane. The Sonoran burger was excellent. Large and juicy patty with creamy cheeses and a spicy chile. The bun was soft and buttery. Overall really good burger. The shrimp tacos were my least favorite, but they were still really really good. The portion was very generous, which isn't normal for shrimp tacos. I was low-key annoyed because the waitress asked my husband if he wanted to add fries to his burger and he did. When the food arrived we realized we had ordered way too much food. The food was really good, so I'm gonna forgive her. There were only three of us and we couldn't even come close to finishing all the food. We brought the nachos back and our family ate them cold and loved them. Portions are massive. The drinks were good, not as good as the food. Their Paloma is a little bit more of their own interpretation, but light and sweet with a spicy tajin rim. The old fashion was my favorite of the group, a very solid drink. I tried a seasonal drink and it was pretty bland. The service was good, maybe too good at upselling. Open layout, bright, has a bar, excellent service. Like that you can see chefs in the kitchen. In-house made sauces - their ketchup is a fan favorite. Fries had a satisfying crunch - cooked in canola. They serve burgers slit when shared. Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding is topped with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and is large enough for 3-5 people to share. They give you a warm moist towel to tidy up after your meal. Reservation recommended likely due to restaurant size - bar and outside seating typically no wait. read more

I ordered the elote nachos added chicken a side of guacamole and the BBQ burger. I split my food with a family member and I was thankful they served the burger cut! The waitress was nice and attentive, food phenomenal. I never knew i was missing these nachos in my life but they were exceptional the flavors are amazing. The nachos although piled high were layered with ingredients throughout which is perfect because the chips at the bottom matter. Every bite was better than the last. Then the burger oh my! Wife and I had lunch here the other day. We started with the Elote Nachos (see photo). Jeezus, enough for 4 people and nicely done. I liked the sweetness of the peppers. I was too full after eating way too many nachos, so opted for a small order of the classic wings. The spice level was nice, and they were crispy, the way I like them. The one negative: the blue cheese sauce was way too watery and didn't stick to anything you dipped in it. My wife had the Harvest salad, which she really enjoyed, but after the nachos she couldn't finish it. Service was great - very cheery and upbeat. This place does not disappoint! Met a friend here for catch-up time after work. I love sitting in the bar area as does she. Ryan took very good care of us. I've been here twice, and I'm glad we came back for a second try since it was better than the first. The first time we came we got one of the loaded wings (elote), but felt that there was a bit too much going on that overpowered the wings. Since wings are one of their featured sections on the menu (brined for 24 hours, slow cooked then flash fried), I had to give it another chance and was more satisfied with the meal overall. I definitely prefer the classic wings because I could better appreciate the brine/slow cook/flash fried preparation. We opted for the lemon pepper (dry rub) and buffalo (sauce) - the wings weren't greasy at all and the chicken was tender. The sauce and dry rub really complemented the wings. You can get carrot and celery sticks on the side with either ranch, blue cheese, or both dressings. My husband also ordered the shrimp ceviche which comes with chips and was very light; the citrusy marinade was delicious and there was a nice mix of cucumber, onion, and avocado to add balanced texture to the dish. We had sangria and they were some of the I've had in AZ. My wide had grilled chicken sandwich and I had the BOG burger. Both were awesome. Note though, lettuce makes the burger slippery as it's not a leaf of lettuce but small bits. We shared waffle fries and they were great as well but too much to eat after the filling sandwiches. The service was good, we were expecting a wait and were seated almost immediately and we were expecting a long wait for food but it was not long at all. I saw that Redbird was on the way to my hotel so I placed a to-go lunch order online. Bonus points when I saw that they made Yelp's Top Places to Eat According to Yelp Elites in 2024! I knew then I was in for a treat. I opted for the shrimp tacos and street corn and they were prepared fairly quickly. The staff greeted me upon entering and brought me my order right away. The shrimp tacos come with your choice of fried beer battered or grilled chile-lime shrimp, baja chipotle-honey sauce, sliced Fresno peppers, pickled onion, green cabbage, and cilantro. One taco is $5 or three for $14. Of course I went with the three. I was very hungry and I inhaled all three in one sitting. The baja chipotle-honey sauce really complimented the shrimp. The street corn came with roasted corn, mayo, soft butter onions, lime juice, cilantro, cotija cheese, triple cheese sauce, and tajin sprinkle. It was very flavorful and I really enjoyed it.
