You never get the same designed coffee mugs each visit... love their collection AND my Denver omelette with biscuit and hash browns. Other person had veggie omelette with whole eggs and toast and home fries. Great service, quick and personable. This place was hopping and no line at 9:45am, if you want to arrive and get a seat right away.

What a fun little spot. It is definitely not fancy, but it was friendly, quick service, good food, and hot coffee. We both got the pork chop breakfast. I did mine with lower carb options and my husband had the regular one. The pork chops were pretty thin, but cooked nicely and were flavorful. It's a walk in and find your own spot type of diner. Not a huge restaurant, but they were doing a brisk business. Service was very friendly and we got our food quickly.

I absolutely love going to simple places like this. It's so hard to find a simple, classic, family run (or appears to be family run) breakfast places nowadays because the trend seems to be the bougie brunch. I like their sign up front that says "elegant dining elsewhere." Very small place. I think the max occupancy is 48. We were able to find seating at the bar top, which is what I prefer. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered the chorizo plate and a ham and cheese omelette, both with hash browns. The chorizo itself tasted phenomenal and so authentic. It tastes great by itself, but even better with one of their hot sauces. Hash browns tasted perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. One of the best breakfast restaurants I've ever gone to.

Sometime you need a 'old fashioned' breakfast with everything cooked on the grill, simple, and/ or smothered on gravy.., and this is the place to go. Their sign outside states "elegant dining elsewhere. Not a lot of seating ( they have indoors and outdoors) but service is good and quick- they turn tables quickly. Large portions. The kitchen is open and so you can see your food being made for the most part. We had the chicken fried steak and the hungry person special which allowed us to sample several things which was not only a good idea but a tasty one. Did notice a couple things sent back but couldn't tell if it was the wrong order or not prepared correctly- in both instances I noticed them offer a refund for the specific item and in the other situation replace the order in less than 5 min. It was busy with non stop business but service was friendly and attentive. Parking is a bit challenging but side street parking is available.

Great Bowl of Hector's Chile with Tortilla! So filling. Great outdoor seating. Fun ambiance always. Be ready for great music & singing while you munch.

Haven't even eaten and wanted to start this off. No nonsense diner. Wonderful Motown music bumping at the right volume, our line cooks speak Spanish (this is after all, Mexico), everyone was smiling, our server sings along with said good tunes, there's a custom salsa available (Hector, the chef's salsa) and vibes were on point. Visibly experienced cooks on the line, big respect. Service is great. Now, I've eaten. Bonkers. Just simply great food that hits all the spots. It's how you remember chicken fried steak. It's how you remember good hash browns. It's how you remember good biscuits and gravy. Nothing bad to say here.

Because I travel so much. I'm always on the look for a really good breakfast venue, this fit that description. It's a Tucson classic. The food was well prepared hot and delicious. I always like to support a local venue and this is a locally owned family business i think it's been around over for over 40 years . I have been many times, the service was fast and efficient and the food came along quickly. Staff really cared and wanted you to be happy. Even though a lot of people know each other they went out of their way to make sure you felt welcome. They serve breakfast and brunch. I came for breakfast, . One time I had the blueberry pancakes. The other times I had a classical breakfast: Bacon eggs, hash browns and biscuits. Shared a cinnamon role which was fantastic, they were accommodating to my requests for crisp hash browns and bacon. I also have a problem with beans and they were willing to sub them out and add meat in a breakfast burritos. It's a great fun place but it does get crowded which speaks to its food but they do a good job of trying to serve people the best way they can. I will be back this winter to enjoy the food and wonderful staff.

When we first walked in we were greeted with a smile and an almost immediate cup of coffee! Everyone was dancing, singing, and slinging eggs and hash browns like an beautifully chaotic ballet. The inside of the restaurant is homey and charming and the food is delicious. My omelette was yummy, the huevos rancheros were amazing with the homemade beans and salsa, and the breakfast sandwich was a new hit at our table. My dad, boyfriend and I loved our time and breakfast together this morning at Frank's! We will be back.

What an experience! Tight space but they move efficiently with little to no waiting. All of our food was clean and cooked well. Both my husband and I felt that the flavors, however, were very bland with no seasoning. Add a bunch of salt and pepper and you're good. Best item was the French toast, with a great chew and flavor.

Stopped by Frank's Restaurant in Tucson for breakfast while visiting for the weekend--and I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious, the OJ tasted fresh-squeezed, and my whole bill was only $21. Great service, amazing value, and tasty comfort food--definitely worth a stop if you're in town!

My partner recommended eating here because he visited many times, and claimed it to have the "Best Breakfast in Tuscon." Those are some pretty strong words, so I couldn't refuse the to experience this great place myself. Honestly, it was enjoyable to from start to finish. But speaking as a critic, I would warn potential guests that this place is so popular that it was fully packed by 10 in the morning on a Friday in March. That means even if you schedule a visit on a day where you are positive it won't be crowded, more than likely you'll be wrong. My partner & I waited five minutes to be seated in a tight dining area with your chairs close to the other guests. The kitchen area is clearly visible when you enter, and you can hear the searing of the food. We were seated in the very back and it was still loud. The rowdy noises coupled with the close proximity to customers could make a guest overstimulated and uncomfortable. Customer service is at my top priority when I rate though, so this place still gets high remarks for how the staff treated us. They kept a cool head through the chaos, and gave us exactly the order we wanted. With so many people, I feared it wouldn't come out right. But they served what I ordered, which was scrambled eggs & bacon with a side of hash browns and white, buttered toast (Tip: Try the grape jelly with the toast. It's delicious!). Everything was perfectly done, and I ate it all right up. I can see why my partner named it the best food in town. It was fantastic, but with such a heavy crowd, I hope they're able to expand their business so it won't feel so claustrophobic. Great work overall, and I'll order from here again!

    Pancakes! Happiness!

Unfortunately, Guadalajara is one of these places. What I like: This restaurant can accommodate well over 100 diners without sacrificing service. Food only took 20 minutes during a dinner rush. I appreciate a well-oiled machine. I will admit, the salsa gimmick is charming. What needs work: Just because there's tableside salsa does not mean it's good. I have never seen anyone use so much cilantro! The drinks are mid--the jalapeno margarita uses the mildest peppers in the universe, and surprise! It's somehow also loaded with cilantro. I excitedly went for the biggest, most famous burrito on the menu and it just has too many ingredients (beans, rice, bacon, shrimp, carne asada) to work. They were too ambitious with this one. My bad. I can see this as a really fun place to take a large group from out of town. I bet if you come from the Midwest (it is full of snowbirds from the Midwest), this is mind-blowingly good. By Arizona standards, however, there are just too many old-timey places that simply do everything better.

The carne seca plate stood out right away, deep, rich flavor without being heavy. I also tried a chimichanga that came out perfectly crisp, packed with filling, and somehow not greasy. That's a fine line and they nailed it. The enchiladas were exactly what you want too, saucy, flavorful, and clearly made with care rather than rushed out of the kitchen. Everything felt intentional, from the seasoning to the portions. You're not leaving hungry, that's for sure. Service kept pace with the chaos in the best way. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight.
