Everytime I've been here I've always had a great experience whether it's food related or customer service! Everything is good!

Nice restaurant. Been here a few times, some with colleagues for lunch. Food is good. I've had a variety of things, some Mexican dishes, some American. Did a breakfast once. I wouldn't say that it is top of the line cooking, but it is very delicious and definitely worth a visit this side of town. Parking can be a little challenging, they do share a parking lot with other businesses, but close in, there are not that many spots. Service is always friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Interesting atmosphere with flamingos galore and other things decorating the inside. Gives it somewhat of a party and fun feel. Food comes out in a timely manner even when they are very busy. Prices are reasonable. Give it a try, I think you'll like it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. It was really cute inside and out however it had a lingering smell. Not enough to gross you out, just enough to acknowledge it and go nose blind after a bit. If you're going with a group or you're "older" I would say service is 4/10. If you're on the younger side you might get bad service but that tends to happen with many restaurants. I'm not sure if they assume we won't tip? Or what, but I personally wouldn't go again. We got peach juice (10/10 tasted like Jumex) and coffee. We also ordered a turkey burger added avocado and sweet potatoes fry's. The bread was hard and the burger was cold. The lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles were fresh. The three slices of avocado were $3 dollars lol. Eggs were good, if anything great because you get a huge portion. The potatoes were on the bland side but nothing some salt and pepper can't fix and they have a good variety of bread to choose from. Chicken fried steak was good but they run heavy with the gravy just to keep in mind. It was about $50 for two people. Everything was mid and somewhat good. Love this place! The service here is always so warm and welcoming, and makes me love my visits. The inside has a cool decor, and a nice outside patio that is enclosed. The food is delicious. Also, the plates are enormous, so you'll definitely have some leftovers. If you're near the airport and looking for breakfast, skip Denny's and Waffle House and opt for Sunny Daze. The price point is the same (actually probably better), so you just get way more bang for your buck. Easy choice. read more

My wife and I stopped at Sunny D's on our way to Costco on Thursday, as always the food was delicious, the service was excellent and the portions are huge, I got a steak sandwich and there was enough steak to make two sandwiches, the onion rings tasted like they were hand dipped on site. Wifey got a Chicken salad and it was really good and fresh. We have been dining at Lazy D for many years and will continue to do so! read more

How have I lived here for 18+ and never tried this place I will never know... but today we did while trying to find a place we had never been. We hit them on a Saturday AM and were able to be seated right away. The place is cute inside, with a diner type vibe to it. Everyone was friendly and welcoming with a smidge of edge, so most reviews that talk about service are spot on - I think the service is what really makes this place. We ordered the sunny puffs, which are like little beignets but consistency is different. They are delicious though, like little light powered donuts. I ordered the omelet/biscuit bowl, my husband the huevos rancheros (Mexican version on the menu). Okay so normally he is very judgey and hard core about Huevos Rancheros but here (and I thought for sure he would diss them when I saw the plate) he LOVED them. Friends and I often have Sunday breakfast at Sunny Daze. It is on South Campbell Avenue and is easy to get to off I-10 on Tucson's South side. The food is great!! It's great to find a restaurant where the friendly service and you are treated like an old friend. read more

Sunny Daze looked like a fun place to spend some time while we waited for a flight to come in at the airport. We were immediately surprised by the rude treatment from the person that sat us. It was one of those moments where you sit down and ask each other if maybe we should just go someplace else. We decided to shrug it off and ride it out because the food looked good and there were some fun looking choices. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich and we both had a laugh over the scarcity of chicken; It was mostly bread. I ordered the fried catfish sandwich and it looked really good on the plate but aside from the pleasing visual, the rest of my catfish sandwich experience was a let down. First off, I don't believe for a second that it was actually catfish and second, the fish was not at all fresh. I ate about half of it before I just couldn't handle any more. My wife really enjoyed the French fries and I just thought there were too many of them. Last thing is that our server never came back to check on us or refill our drinks. She just gave us the bill and told us we could pay on the way out. Overall, I would recommend against this place. read more

I love the old-school diner feel of this restaurant, and I love the flamingo decor all throughout. The service is always fast and friendly and the menu is vast. There is a large range of dishes to choose from that are both traditional breakfast with a mix of Mexican food. It had been years since I had been here, and I recently went again and had an excellent experience. The pasole was absolutely delicious and my skillet was served hot and fresh. We love finding unique breakfast locations. We received top-notch service in spite of a temporary tech glitch with their ordering/payment method. You have to love the flamingos and beach decor. The servings are huge! I had to try the chicken-fried steaks with 3 eggs, had browns and toast. The hubby tried the eggs and ham with fries. Everything was great. We took a lot of good home. So im going to start with this is a little gem hidden in a big city. It has a laid back Cozy vibe no pun intended lol. The menu is simple, but something for everyone & the prices are very reasonable and the food is great especially for the price. The service was fast and awesome except for our waitress. All the other waitresses were doing a great job with orher customers and i didn't want to give a bad review due to one lazy bad apple of an employee. I had the mushroom swiss burger and my friend had the club sandwich, and they were both very delicious. They also have outdoor seating, but i believe it's closed for some reason i didn't ask, but i believe repairs. So if you're ever in the area stop in for breakfast or lunch, because they open early and close by 2pm. read more

Sunny Daze has a great staff, but underwhelming food. We decided to visit on a Saturday morning for a late (10:30AM) breakfast. It was fairly busy when we arrived but we sat right away and within a few minutes our server dropped off some menus. She grabbed our drink order quickly and we looked over their generous menu options. Our food took a while to come out and was lukewarm when we got it. They also got my order wrong but our server was very apologetic and offered to have the kitchen remake the food. I understand mistakes happen and let her know it was okay. The food itself was alright but nothing I would drive all the way to the south side to have again. It was a little bland and overcooked. They did give us some free Sunny puffs to make up for the mistake which was very nice and not necessary but I will say the were very tasty. (Like powder sugar donut bites) The price was very fair for the portion sizes as well. TL:DR - a good option for diner food if you live close, not worth going out of your way for. read more

We were seated right away and asked what drinks we would like. I was able to get a hot green tea, with my partner ordering a coffee. After taking time to look at the drink menu, it was nice to notice they had many juice options, as this is not commonly found at other restaurants. I ordered the peach juice. A menu filled with a variety of options. I was stuck between the California Omelette or Huevos Ranchero. I informed the server of my top two choices and she shared that she really likes the California Omelette so I confidently ordered it. When the food arrived, it was able to be complimented with your choice of ketchup, cholula, Tabasco, or tapatio and of course salt and pepper. What I noticed about my omelette is that the temperature was just right. The melted cheese stretched to great lengths, making the appeal of the omelette increase. The avocado was inside the omelette, not outside of it. My sides were toast and fruit. I was able to take my tea to go and the donuts. We're far from the beach but this restaurant brings the beach atmosphere to you. There are plenty of small decor items you will want to look around as you eat or play eye-spy with your child. Our server visited our table in a timely manner a good handful of times and reassured us of the no rush, closing time. It was a wholesome breakfast experience and I would like to try more of their menu items in the near future. read more

This place has been around for a long time and it looks like it. The wait staff who sat us was friendly, but the person taking our order could care less. I ordered a classic burger with a salad and told them I was gluten free, so no bun. I asked what was on the salad, she said croutons and I said no croutons, and she replied you don't want croutons, I said correct because (as I just stated), I'm gluten free. So if you are gluten free, you probably have to worry about cross contamination. The burger itself was pretty thin and overcooked, so it was dry and you couldn't cut it with a fork, I had to cut it using a knife. Finally got around to trying this place and was NOT disappointed! Got a basic breakfast combo - srambled eggs w/ cheese, hashbrowns, toast, and bacon -but holy cow it was phenomenal! There was a good amount of cheese in my eggs, and they were so buttery and perfectly cooked. The bacon and hashbrowns were just the right level of crispy! Tamara (I think I spelled it right!) was my server, and she was wonderful! Super friendly and funny, and very attentive. She also made sure to tell me about the yelp/Sunny Puffs deal! (Those were also to die for! My 6 year old will love them!) I live far east but now have regular appointments at Park and Ajo, and I'm excited to now have a regular spot to come to in this side of town!
