Not sure how I have not left a review for La Indita yet. One of my Tucson favorites and in my opinion a must visit for guests in Tucson from out of town. I love their mole, their fresh corn masa dough and the crispy tacos. Everything is made from scratch. They seem like a really nice family too. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

La Indira never disappoints. Flavors are excellent; that chicken mole is so delicious, the enchiladas are great, and the Indian taco never disappoints. Their margaritas are also really good and hit the spot in summer! I haven't eaten inside because the patio is so lovely and their giant umbrellas do a great job of providing shade that I always choose to eat outside. I can't remember the name of the older gentleman who plays music and sings but he's amazing! I love the chill, relaxed vibe of the patio, like hanging out a cool friend's place. But as outstanding as the food is, what really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone seems to enjoy where they work, which in the service industry is so rare, and they treat clients like friends and family. They're always looking for ways to make your experience better & make special occasions even more special. This level of attention and love for the community doesn't go unnoticed and their support of folks who work Tucson better for everyone means this restaurant will always be on my list of local treasures.

This place is cute. There was a wedding going on so outside was reserved. There was a bit of a wait but the hostess offered to make us cocktails and they were so sweet to offer. Even asking us what kind of flavors we liked. My drink was strong and yummy! Very good house marg. They offered complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was very fresh but bland. It needed salt and maybe better more fragrant tomatoes. I go the combo plate. It came with a beef taco, chicken enchilada with a pea based green sauce and chile relleno. Chile relleno was mid. I wouldn't get again. No real strong flavors. The taco was AMAZING I could have done a plate of those. The chicken enchilada was ok. It was also bland. Although the green sauce for peas was interesting it just didn't have enough flavor and zing. Our waiter did let us try both green and red but I went with green bc red was even less flavorful. The mole is supposed to be very good so I may try that with a friend one day. I would come back for tacos but probably not much else.

Absolutely love this long time family owned and strong running business. Wow. It's amazing to hear the stories from people who are adults now and how they as children would enjoy this families food. Wonderful and bright service. Delicious and authentic native/Mexican food. Beautiful patio and indoor space. Truly a local community treasure.

This restaurant has been serving incredible food since the year I was born in 1983. We got there right when they opened at 5pm and it was packed within 10 minutes. Amazing community support for a long-time locally owned spot! We ordered the horchata, a cheese quesadilla, Indian tacos, and the beef burro with sides of rice and beans. Everything was perfectly cooked. It was our first time trying the Indian tacos and it will definitely not be the last. We sat inside the cozy space, but the outdoor patio is so spacious and welcoming. We can't wait to go back in the spring to enjoy the weather!

I've always driven by this restaurant and wondered was it was. The parking lot is always so packed. And I'm so glad I finally went to check it out. It's so yummy! This place is so cute. I love sitting on patio when the weather is perfect. Service is quick and attentive. The food is sooo good and doesn't take too long. Sometimes there is live music outside. I ordered the chalupas and my boyfriend got carne seca burro. Was soooooo good!

La indita is right off Stone, the parking is in the back of the building with access from the front and back of the building which is nice! We opted to sit outside and had great service with chips, salsa and water immediately on our table. The salsa was on the runnier side with the perfect kick of heat. Chips seem to be made in house and delicious. My husband got a chicken tamale with red sauce and the rice and beans. The tamale was sooo good! The red sauce was interesting there was a lot of oregano which gave it more of a pizza sauce type of flavor which other reviews have mentioned which I definitely understand now. I had the green chicken enchiladas which had the same type of beans and rice. The meat was almost dry but not bad, the tortillas definitely seemed to be made in house. The green sauce was not what I've had from other Tucson restaurants definitely set them apart from other places but isn't what I was expecting flavor wise. Overall the sauces didn't match the dishes to me. The red sauce was very oregano and gave it a pizza flavor, the chicken in the enchiladas wasn't the best. Service was great! Would come back to try some other dishes.

Oooooooohweeeeeee I think I've died and gone to food heaven . This restaurant has everything I look for in a favorite. Ambiance , great service , local , low key , good vegan menu , vibes , indoor & outdoor and most of all fantastic food. Indita delivers up a so many mouth watering options you'll have trouble deciding. Make sure you try the guac , It's the best I've had in town so far! Almost everything can be made vegan on the menu . The beans aren't cooked in lard & they don't use chicken bouillon.

I love La Indita's food and atmosphere so much. The chips and salsa are delicious with the perfect levels of savory and spice. The Indian taco is a delicious meal in itself, as it's surprisingly hearty. The chicken enchiladas with green sauce are decadent -- I need the green sauce on tap at my house! It has an amazing garlicky flavor that I can't get enough of. The jalapeño margarita is fresh with a solid kick. Service is always friendly, and I love the homey feel of the location. It's a go-to for a comfort meal!

5-star family owned business (Grandma before and today)

If you're looking for authentic Sonoran-style food, look no further! It's a blend of authentic Mexican and Native American cuisine. This is a local family-owned restaurant serving family recipes. One of the lovely owners came in while we were dining. She's in her 90's now, and originally started her business well over 30 years ago. She still makes the tamales here to this day. AMAZING! I discovered this on the last day of our week long stay in Tucson, but if I found this place sooner, I would've eaten here every single day! The highlight for me was the Indian Taco. It's not an ordinary taco. Instead, it's an open face puffy fried flatbread, commonly known as Indian fry bread. I look for Indian fry bread every time I'm in Texas and Arizona. This definitely ranks as one of the best. It's covered with beans, beef and red Chile (Tohoro O' Odaham style, from the Native American tribe originally from the Sonoran dessert). I was so obsessed with their Indian fry bread that I also got a got dessert, which was the fry bread topped with honey with cinnamon sugar on the side (Can't recall the name. Maybe popover? It's very similar to a sopapilla). The chips are the perfect thickness. Not too thin, but just thick enough to hold up to scooping up beans, etc. Very friendly and helpful service.

Carne Seca beautifully plated &16, Enchilada Style Christmas Sauce +$3.50. Mar 2025. Good but not as good as El Charro's ;)

Menu may look familiar but flavor profile very different given Tohono O'Odham & Purépecha recipes and influence. Purép?what-- Wiki lift ...had to look it up too; "a group of Indigenous people centered in the northwestern region of Michoacán, Mexico, mainly in the area of the cities of Cherán and Pátzcuaro". Sauces are their strength. From table Salsa, more clay earthy vs bright tomato red flavor & color to Vibrant Green and Deep Red, Christmas Sauce +$3.50 over Hubby's Carne Seca Chimicanga $16 (no sides), found unusual balance that doesn't evoke others dishes tried. Carne Seca had a good beef flavor but El Charro being our standard, has more intense beefiness and better. Same for the thicker pumpkin orange refrieds and very veggie--potato corn onion rice sides with my combo $19 of enchiladas, 1 Spinach, 1 Mushroom, 1 Potato Taco. Was expecting more from the enchiladas; spinach definitely iron forward and mushroom which tasted of its namesake but even though understood they were crimini & whites, I still imagined oyster & king flavors, wanting & hoping their flavors would push me around a bit to take notice. The Taco did so, the unassuming star, stuffed to the brim with the lowly but fantastic tasty taters! Corn tortillas are house made and make for extra delicious thick fresh tortilla chips, brought as you are seated, refilled as needed as is the table salsa, perfect. Beer is bottled only, $6 Sol, and margarita was fresh made and very tasty $10 served in a glass a bit larger than a whiskey . On a cooler evening, we still opted to sit on the patio as it's so inviting and open vs the dining room which is narrow and dark but a very traditional adobe feel if you are going for full authentic experience. Servers are very friendly and turned on heaters as needed. Women-owned, in business since 1979, they are doing something right :D Come see for yourself!

Age here with a friend a couple weeks ago and I have to say the standout here was the service. We got drinks while we waited for a table, which really seemed to go by quickly. The host (I think it was) that brought our drinks was so fun and kind. Our server was so patient and helpful. I got the green enchilada meal. It was good.

The service here was great! We sat outside and enjoyed the sun, and the food was delicious. It wasn't like, FANTASTIC, but it was solid. There is parking in the back which is great and easy for accessibility. I would probably rate this place 3.5 stars, I would try some other items but wasn't overly impressed with what we got. The salsa was super runny, my dad asked for a hotter salsa so they made something for him which was really nice and cool.

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
