My husband had a Machaca taco and the shredded beef soup which comes with a fresh homemade tortilla. Both were delicious and very tasty. I also ordered the Calabacitas, which were rich and flavorful. I stopped in here for breakfast this morning shortly after they opened at 8 a.m. I ordered the huevos con machaca from the breakfast menu, which came with salsa, refried beans and tortillas (I chose corn). I liked the tortillas, beans and salsa, but the huevos con machaca was too salty. Also, the prices on the menu, though reasonable, are considerably higher than the ones online; they should update their website to show the current prices. Service was good; I was the only customer. The restaurant has a pleasantly colorful decor. It's small, so probably not ideal for a large group. read more

First time here and what a pleasant surprise! First off there is ample parking on a busy Friday morning. The restaurant was busy, plenty of seating and a chill atmosphere. Always have to stop when in Tucson. I love to come here in the winter and get a large bowl of their chicken tortilla soup. It is so good! I came here with family and we all got a large bowl of this soup. There is lots of shredded chicken and there are chunks of potato and carrot in it as well. The melted cheese on top and the crunchy chips in the soup complete the dish. The hours at this location can be off sometimes so be sure to check they are open before you go. read more

I have been going here for a few years now. I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere is more a upscale diner---cafe! with a little bar. It always appears clean. The music makes me wanna go dancing. I have tried multiple items, the tacos, flautas, Huevos rancheros, burritos, even a salad. All have been delicious. I would have to give a special mention to their chips and salsa. I always get extra to take home. Tonight our main server was Louis and helping him was John. Great service, excellent food and drinks. Service was terrible! We sat there for 20 minutes and she forgot to bring our our drinks and water, then took another 20 minutes to bring a bowl of menudo to my date and forgot to bring my cup. When I inquired she yelled at me "Im getting it, they are still making it" (from the same pot of menudo). Eventually she brought mine but didn't bring the tortillas or burritos we ordered. Everyone knows South Tucson has the best Mexican Food. I stand by this statement wholeheartedly. Lol With that said I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled on this gem. Homemade tortillas..enough said. They were so good we tried to buy some but they didn't have any for sale. Everything clean and our food made FRESH. Since our initial visit we've gone back 3 times. Don't expect for them to answer the phone when you call in an order. If you do get lucky enough to get someone to answer, they will put you on hold for 10+ minutes and if you hang up and try to call again they will not answer. This has happened 3 times to me in the last month. read more

Based on a recommendation of my Airbnb, I tried this place. It's a cute place. I just didn't like the food. My waiter was nice and helpful. I asked for a sangria and they didn't have any. Great food, spotty service. Had lunch here the other day. Good thing the chips and salsa were fantastic because it took about 1/2 hour for our food to be delivered, and even then the waitress delivered somebody else's meals on the first try. The server tried hard, she was just overwhelmed. I had the Loma Adobado (see photo). It was a very generous serving for lunch, I had to take a nap when I got home.... Terrific flavors though, and their calabacitas are wonderful. The fresh tortillas are a real treat - they are practically a meal in themselves! This is one of my boyfriends favorite places in Tucson. He was born and raised in Tucson so I'd say he's been around the area and has tried his fair share of places. One of my favorite parts of this restaurant was the artistic look and feel of the place. Inside there are hanging papel picado and the walls and tables are even full of art. This is truly a local Tucson restaurant and you can feel it the moment you step inside. The best thing I can recommend to anyone, is their hot chocolate. We came on Sunday for brunch and it looks like it might be a Sunday special, I hope you make it out here on a Sunday if that is true because I would hate to miss the opportunity to try this. My boyfriend had the great idea of adding Baileys, which was a good addition but truthfully even just plain this hot chocolate would still be the best thing I've tried. The food was good I got the breakfast mole enchiladas, I thought it would come with cheese but it's only egg so I would recommend adding cheese. Ordered the tostadas, the beans were watery and I did not like it. Took 2 bites, when the waiter came over I said that it just wasn't good and he said okay. He brought our check and I asked if he could take the food off the table and off of the check, and he came back and said that that's the way the dish was supposed to be. He then states that more than half of the dish was gone, which was a blatant lie. and when I told him that no, I had maybe eaten 10% he backtracked and said that he can do it this time but not next time. Really love this place, especially for breakfast or takeout. Have dined here many times and went there for breakfast the other day with my mom and brother and decided to finally formally review it. One of the best parts of this place is the service--it is the most polite and respectful service that I have ever experienced, almost to the point where it's a little too much. Every server that I've had always thanks you, even after you say thank you, which is definitely nice, but like I said sometimes it's a little over the top. Other than that, the service is always prompt and friendly and they're very good about refilling drinks, especially coffee. For breakfast, they offer Mexican and American styles and you must go with the Mexican options. I usually get the huevos con machaca; I really love the meat and their tortillas are delicious. You can sometimes see them making the tortillas fresh in house. They also offer huge burros for breakfast which my brother is a big fan of. Their coffee is also delicious, tastes kind of chocolatey. The atmosphere is chill and they have a bar and a couple of TVs. I've never been here for dinner so I'm not sure if it gets super hectic, but I highly recommend this place for breakfast! read more

We went for breakfast. We go out once every two weeks for eggs. I had a chorizo and cheese omlet and my wife had huevos rancheros. Both were really good and the accompaniments were excellent. The service was efficient and attentive. The ambiance left me indifferent. Overall, it was a good experience. The big negative for me is I prefer American breakfast food and that side of the menu wasn't worth considering, boring. Why don't I like Mexican breakfast? Too many carbs for my health.
