Beans

The service was good. However the Caldo De Queso had an oiled down layer, on top of that the soup only had 2 potatoes . The beans were dry and bland. Maybe will try a different dish next time but the Caldo De Queso and beans were not it. The salsa and chips were good.

Breakfast is served.

Great place for authentic Mexican food. Old Mexico ambience. Service is always excellent and the food is fantastic. I've never had a dish I haven't loved. Breakfast or lunch all are great

Vegan menudo??

Very poor Menudo!! Disappointing and flavorless. To say the least, 95% hominy and bits of tripe. The broth was very watered down. Maybe they should taste the food as they go. I would not recommend this place for the weekend menudo at any cost( $15/bowl). Maybe a bad time for this historic place. The ambiance seemed very welcoming and "mom and pop " feel. Still can't get over the fact that it was "highly" recommended by yelp

I ordered the Chile Colorado with no sides, added cheese and sour cream. Super flavorful, mas rico, me gusta mucho! Love the interior and the have an outdoor patio. Super friendly staff. I'll be returning!

This spot is a hidden gem! Plazita Mexico Café seriously impressed me. I got the chilaquiles served with rice and beans , everything was delicious and i'm picky about my rice and beans! i also got pancakes (amazing). The chips and salsa were super fresh, and the horchata? SO good--definitely a must if you come here. The place is really clean, and the service was super friendly and attentive. You can tell they care about their food and their customers. I'll definitely be back--highly recommend!

Plazita Mexico is home away from home. The service has always been great and the food taste, quality and portions are perfect. The carne asada tacos are my favorite. Those flour tortillas hit different there.

Service was so friendly and welcoming. Right when you walk in everyone greets you. You seat yourself so I chose a booth to the right, next to the kitchen. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. Came so quick. First was served chips and salsa. Ordered a Horchata and Coffee cause I like mixing the two Then the Green Corn Tamales, Eggs and Beans... sooooooo good. & affordable. Service consistently checked on me as well making sure I was good, if I needed more coffee, and asked how the food tasted. Good quality service. The place is small and cute.

Always 5 solid stars - and yes, that is my clumbsy thumb in the beans!

Good service, the food is very good and it didn't take long to get our food. For sure when we go to Tucson we'll be going there again.

Very good food. True Mexican not American Mexican. We had very good service, too. It was clean and it was busy.

I have always had a really good experience with the food at Amelia's. We have gone for their brunch…read moreas well as their dinner, and I think they have a great refried beans recipe! If you are able to go for brunch, I would recommend getting the Chilaquiles with both the red and green sauce! You will not be going wrong with this. I am relatively vegetarian, and so if you don't eat lard, you can also get the black beans as another vegetarian option!

Came here off of a recommendation, and while it was decent, it definitely didn't live up to the…read morehype. When we entered the restaurant, I was immediately impressed with all of the accolades that Amelia's Kitchen seems to have accrued over the years. Maybe that set my expectations too high. We made a reservation, which I highly recommend, so we were quickly seated. but it did take a bit for someone to actually come and greet us and take our drink orders after being sat down. Then it was probably another 40 minutes before we actually got our food. I'm not sure if it was this lag time that affected the food quality, but several of my items were just lukewarm and some even cold? The star of the show was definitely, the molcajete. This came out sizzling and full to the brim with shrimp, nopales, chicken, asada, cheese, and lots of other goodies. In hindsight, I probably should've ordered one for myself. I went with the chicken mole enchiladas. Again, the sauce was okay but not super spicy, and it was a little cold, as was my side of rice and beans. We also ordered the mini birria chimis to share. and these were just OK, they tasted like frozen food. Overall, if you come here, I highly recommend getting the molcajete, but can't really vouch for any other items. Maybe we'll try it again on a less busy night.
