Pulled pork special with elote and green hatch chili

10/10 must return spot!! Immediately were greeted by great staff, they took our orders immediately and our server Connor was great! The location is pretty centrally located and plenty of space to bring family or go on your own. My boyfriend and we ordered the buttermilk pancake, eggs benedict special of the day and King Kong. He said this is one of the best breakfast diners he's ever had and he's an honest reviewer! The pancake was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. He already wants to come back to Tucson just for this special so, safe to say we'll be driving back here and making sure to make a pit stop at this diner!

Delicious! Our server was great he was friendly he was humorous and just a joy all around. I went with a group of 5 women and sometimes I know it can be overwhelming but he did great. Everything we ordered was amazing. We sat outside on the patio it was early enough to enjoy the weather. Will definitely be back

Dog friendly Patio seating at Baja Cafe

Got there with my dog along with my friend and her dog just after 8 am. Only had to sit in outside waiting area for maybe ten minutes for patio seating. Weather pleasant with light breeze making that fine. Service great from get go- the gentleman also owns a husky named Bobbi and was one of the wonderful and best servers there . Just outgoing, friendly, super kind to the pups, and efficient. When my friend realized she got coffee instead of soda ordered and finally got up nerve to let him know in her kind way(she is shy) , he was apologetic and kind back and brought it quickly. The food we both ordered was the Shaggy Snack. Love the English muffin with egg, green chile, herb cream cheese and bacon! Perfect start to my day , along with the delicious black coffee. The patio is adjacent to parking and a bit noisy but still able to hold conversations easily . The friendly server, welcoming of dogs, excellent food will all bring me back again and again! Highly recommend!!

Phone never eats first, Baja classic was delicious

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would without hesitation. Baja Cafe has been one of my go to breakfast/ brunch spots for a while now, and it never disappoints. The food is incredible, and the service is always friendly, fast, and welcoming. I've tried a bunch of different things on the menu, and honestly you can't really go wrong with anything, but my personal favorite is the King Kong. Fair warning, this place gets BUSY, especially on weekends or when snowbirds are in town. Even if you get there early you're going to probably have to wait a bit for a table but it's 100% worth it! Easily one of my favorite breakfast spots ever. When the weather is nice I prefer to sit on the patio outside because the inside has that hectic diner feel to it but if they are busy I'll take a table wherever I can get one! Phone never eats first when I'm coming here.

I'm surprised the wait time wasn't longer after trying the food. I get why it made the Top 100 list! They have a great balcony area where pets are allowed and staff was very nice. Sadly, they were out of Prickly Pear mimosas, so I got a Wild Berry Mimosa without OJ and my guy got the same with OJ. We both agreed it was way better without the OJ. The wild berry mix they use was tasty and not overly sweet. Foodwise, we got the Berry Danish French Toast and the Southwest Smoked Brisket Tots (cheese sauce on side, no chipotle aioli). They brought the tots wrong the first time, but quickly brought us a correct version. It was really good! We actually preferred it without the cheese sauce since it made it feel much heavier. The brisket was cooked wonderfully and had great texture and the bacon was nice and crispy. The tots themselves were a bit disappointing and needed to be crispier. The french toast was soo good! It was honestly unbelievable how amazing this dish was. The french toast itself was perfect texture and delicious on it's own. The creme an-glaise was soo tasty and really elevated the dish. They gave a good amount of a variety of berries and didn't overuse the agave syrup. The whipped cream arrived already partially melted, but it's made in-house so we weren't upset. That's the only acceptable form of whipped cream in my opinion. 4.5 rounded to 5

A bit of a wait today, but worth it! Staff was pleasant. Strawberry pancake was absolutely delicious! And the corned beef hash was cooked perfect

I went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and although there was a wait it went by pretty quickly. We sat outside, but inside options were available. The menu was mostly egg Benedict pancakes and waffles. The food was plenty full and I did enjoy the flavor. The price was very decent as well for the food and value that you get. Overall, I would return here to try other items. The service was great. The ambience was chill and casual.

10:30 Thursday. 3 big parties waiting. Staff scrambling, sweating and serving sweetly. Energetic breakfast crowd, upbeat, sunny dining room. Food was piping hot, savory and succulent. Corned beef was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Finally, the pecan roll pancake was heaped with cinnamon roll goodness and a pecan in every bite!

If you can get past the long wait times then Baja is going to be your favorite brunch place in Tucson. I love Baja so much and recommend it to everyone I can. The food is amazing and the servers are all so nice. It can get a little crowded but that's only because everybody loves it! I recommend getting the Alcatraz, its insanely good.

Wow! Popular diner with quality food and big portions Went here last weekend and was very impressed. It was pretty crowded and we were quoted about a 30 min wait time but luckily were seated in about 15 minutes. It's a large location but definitely recommend coming early if you have a large group. Food was delicious. Prices are high for a diner but cheaper than other brunch spots and are justified through the large portions. My favorite was the hash browns. The shredded potatoes were cooked perfectly with a crispy exterior and smooth creamy interior. The cinnamon roll pancake was also a huge standout. The portions are so large so they're great for sharing. The service was attentive and friendly. We got constant refills of coffee and were offered a free coffee to go. Sometimes they offer some extra food too but didn't this time. Definitely a spot worth the hype.

This spice is really busy, and we had to wait for our table, but it was worth it. He sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen, so we got to see all the delicious food, but the kitchen was cranking out. Anthony is a perfect server. He is so friendly and helpful. I wish all servers had his personality. I started with a fantastic Bloody Mary and ice water with lemon. We decided to build our omelette with crispy bacon, American cheese, mushrooms, and peppers for food. The portions are large, and we could have just eaten all of it, but we were hungry, so we also got the avocado toast. We devoured both meals. If we revisited the area, we would be tempted to return because the food was delectable and the staff was friendly.

Shared a great BLT and some tater tots here for a light lunch. Looks like they are busy all the time ' came highly recommended.

Baja Cafe is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Tucson. It's a great place if you're looking for a solid breakfast with a mix of traditional dishes and Southwestern flavors. The service is great too. On my last visit, my girlfriend and I saw how busy it was and decided to leave because we didn't feel like waiting. As we were walking out, an employee actually ran after us to let us know they could seat us at the bar. That small gesture really stood out. It showed they genuinely care about their customers, instead of just letting us go. The vibe of the restaurant feels very Tucson, with lots of U of A decor on the walls. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which were tasty but honestly you can't go wrong with their Snickerdoodle Pancakes or Scooby Snacks. Those always hit the spot.

My hubs suggested that we go to The Frida and see if we could get in. We drive over and guess what, we go lucky, must have been that everyone had a 4th of July hangover. We sat at the bar and couldn't be happier. Our server/bartender took great care of us, he offered us drinks, took our food order and made my hubby a really good Margarita, The Frida Margarita, he said it was bomb! I ordered a beer and it came with a chilled glass and lime wedge. We decided on the flautas and the mole enchiladas. Both fantastic, tasty and hearty! I got full with two enchiladas so I donated the third to my hubby, which he was super happy to eat. I have to say, the mole sauce was decadent and full of flavors. It really reminded me of my grandmas mole. It also left a delicious numbing (very slight) on my lips. Perfect balance of nutty, spicy, almost semi sweet goodness. Gorgeously prepared and looked almost too good to eat. Almost..... The place was full, we were still able to have a conversation. It was amazing. Will definitely be back to continue to enjoy the carefully curated menu. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed! This screams a great place to work and obviously enjoy. Well done La Frida! Well done!

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

Located in downtown Tucson, this iconic restaurant is full of character and beautifully decorated. We visited on a Saturday around 1 PM without a reservation and were told there would be a wait since the place was packed. They only have air conditioning in the indoor dining areas and basement, not on the outdoor patio. Luckily, we were seated in the basement, which turned out to be perfect. The service was commendable truly some of the sweetest and most attentive service we've experienced in a long time. We started with freshly made chips and salsa, which were an instant hit. For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. The drinks were excellent, with the Mangopeno being my favorite. But the real star of the meal was the tamale platter. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The vegan jackfruit taquitos were a bit too deep-fried for our liking and didn't quite compare to the incredible tamales. To finish, we shared a caramel flan, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The pricing was very reasonable, the service was exceptional, and the food was memorable. We will definitely be back again if only for those amazing tamales!

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
