the food was incredible. i don't eat out much because quality always disappoints, but this is my second time at Teaspoon and I don't plan on leaving for a new brunch fave. The vanilla french toast was delicious. not too heavy vanilla flavor, very light but so tasteful and the strawberries compliment it very well. It didn't feel overwhelming either (no shade to ihop). My loaded potato skillet is top tier for anyone looking for a tasteful savory breakfast that fills you up without feeling too full. so good!! My only complaint was the service from today. Our server was rude and dismissive and did not check on us until we were basically done with our meal. He made us feel like an inconvenience and rolled his eyes while we were deciding what to drink and made us feel like our table was just a waste of time. They also took a while to come over and let us order our food (it was not that busy), but we weren't in a rush. just things we noticed. We arrived about 9 am and were seated right away-chose to eat inside although the outside seating looks like it would be nice in cooler weather. We were waited on soon after sitting down and ordered a drink. There is a broad drink menu but I had the coffee latte with the hazelnut flavor. I had the coffee poured while the milk was steaming and when it came it stayed warm enough to last through a couple of cups. We both had the bubble waffle with clotted cream and strawberries. It was certainly delicious but would have loved even more strawberries. We each had a side of bacon also. The flavors for the waffle with the were really good. The waffle is large and couldn't eat all of it but ate all the strawberries and put a dent in the clotted cream. Our server was attentive throughout the meal and we enjoyed our meal. One drawback at the location is the limited parking. For some reason there is a lot of restricted parking so can't get that close to the restaurant. That's a.problem for all the businesses in the complex no doubt but it is a drawback. read more

My first visit to Teaspoon's newer location was actually a good experience. However, it was not busy that day, so I don't think I got to see how the restaurant handled a busy Saturday. Today, my partner and I arrived shortly after 10:00 AM on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy, so we expected there to be a wait. We gave the receptionist our name and phone number and were told the wait would be about 15 minutes. After waiting 22 minutes without receiving a text or call, we went back to make sure our phone number had been entered correctly. We were then told it would be another 15 minutes. We waited another 25 minutes and noticed several parties arriving after us and being seated within about five minutes. My partner went to the host stand to ask what was happening and was told that they had attempted to message and call us and were looking for an opening at the bar for us. This was confusing because we had never received a message or call, and there were visibly open tables in the restaurant. I then went in and asked why parties who arrived after us were continuing to be seated before us. The explanation was that those were larger parties of 3-4 people and that they were waiting for a table specifically for two people. At that point, we decided to leave and go to the original Teaspoon location instead. I understand that restaurants get busy and that seating arrangements can be complicated. The issue for me was the lack of clear communication and the inconsistent explanations about our wait. If there was a specific reason we couldn't be seated, that should have been communicated from the beginning rather than repeatedly extending our wait while other customers were seated. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I can only give this location 2 stars. The first visit was good, but today's experience left a pretty poor impression. read more

I've been here a few times and I absolutely love it. I always get the orange cranberry mimosa with my meals. Today we were celebrating my cousin's birthday and we all enjoyed. Our ourselves. We've been here twice and have left overall satisfied with our meals. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes outside without a reasonable explanation . The temperature was a sweltering 95 degrees, and there was only one out of 2 swamp coolers on. It's puzzling why no one was monitoring the waitlist or checking in to see if anything was needed. The time kept changing, going from 15 then 27 minutes to 40 minutes, without any explanation. The hostess kept apologizing but offered no compensation for the inconvenience. We had to ask for water and complimentary coffee,a minimum gesture for the extreme inconvenience. We got water but no coffee. Danny E mentioned that there were empty tables inside, so it wasn't clear why we couldn't be seated there sooner. However, it seems that the wait time for a party of five is longer than for a party of two, which is an unfair practice based on other reviews. After a 45-minute wait and three touch-ins with the hostess, we finally got seated. The food was good, but it felt like a waste of time since the meal from order to check was as long as our wait time! This is unacceptable! We suggested to the manager that water and coffee should be available outside for the wait, and that more chairs were needed. The manager indifferently thanked us but didn't promise that things would change. So, until they address the seating and waitlist issues, I won't be returning or recommending this restaurant to others. It's a lot of time to wait for a quick meal. read more

I had the savory crepe which I enjoyed and my wife had the loaded baked potato skillet which she thought was ok but would not order again. While I really enjoy sitting outside, our waiter was nonchalant at best, but probably more closely aligned to disinterested. If a customer has coffee, it would be nice if he came back and asked if I would like a refill. It states it on their menu and that seems like a common courtesy. Okay, the four of us went on Sunday without reservations only to find we could have called ahead to be put on a waitlist. This would have been useful information. My husband had the waffles with fresh fruit and vanilla sauce. He looked like he was in heaven. I tried a bite, and wow! Perfect. One of our friends had the mushroom omelette and was very happy with his choice. Another friend had the filet mignon entree and enjoyed it as well. We were all so thrilled with how good our food looked, that I totally forgot to take any photos, which tends to happen when I'm starving. Oops. I've been in this space for every restaurant that has been here. It's a pleasant light filled space with a lovely patio. I think they could consider getting a person with a touch more positivity and helpfulness to answer the phone, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing. Trying to venture out with something new tempted to try the German pancake in skillet but fun server Molly when asked a suggested the Hong Kong street bubble waffle which we both tried . The bubble texture was tasty & cool looking with a very sweet cream butter it seemed topped with strawberries .Quite the opposite of the steak Benedict's more traditional flavors . It was quite rich , light yet very filling with the sweet cream butter & syrup almost didn't finish it all , unusual . No regrets tried something new ! Big creative & traditional menu choices with breakfast , brunch & lunch. Pictures of visiting pet dogs of the week were on the bulletin board in the back , fun & I assume allowed on patio didn't see pets inside. I was here with a group of friends this weekend to celebrate a birthday, and as expected, I had a delicious meal! I ordered the egg parfait which came with bread to eat with it, along with fruit as well (I got no melon). You may not expect the egg parfait, but it really is such a savory treat. With potatoes at the bottom, the poached, bacon, and green onion, it all just blended so beautifully and is really yummy. It is $15 which may seem kind of high for the small jar, but I'm glad it at least came with the fruit and the bread. Because I thought I might still be hungry. I also got the tomato soup. I usually would not order a tomato soup, however, I've tried it before a teaspoon, so I knew I liked it. This together was enough food and filled me up! I also got a tropical smoothie which I was disappointed in. The description states mango, peach, strawberry, pineapple, and orange juice. However, drinking it, it just tasted like thick orange juice.. I definitely think they need to lighten up on how much orange juice they're putting in it. Came in for one thing and one thing only: the Hong Kong style bubble waffle! My spouse promised me poffertjes which are a favorite of mine and which this decidedly is not, but it's good on it's own merit. This is a waffle, a little denser than typical and bubbly shaped. Served with powdered sugar, clotted cream and strawberries. Our server put the clotted cream on the side, which was a good call. I wish we had double or more berries as that freshness helped balance the density of the waffle.
