I did a Bing search "best banh mi in tucson". I found a link to Yelp Titled "TOP 10 Best Banh Mi in Tucson". The first two on the list were both locations of Banhdicted. We live on Kolb, so we just drove up to the Sunrise location. The person at the counter offered a pleasant greeting. They were ready with recommendations and seemed proud of the restaurant. What really drove my choice was the menu. They only have Banh Mi's on the menu. This means they can focus on being the best Banh Mi in Tucson. I ordered the BBQ Pork and Lemongrass Beef sandwiches. Plenty of tasty ingredients. The flavor was great and the sauce slowly creeps up on you until it reaches the undeniable spicy taste. The bread held up under the pressure of serving up those wonderful ingredients. Definitely recommend these two Banhdicted locations if you are looking for Banh Mi! read more

I have been here twice to get a matcha latte and it's a pretty solid tea. Service is always great but prices are on the high end for the size of the drinks. They have Pho on Fridays so I might check it out next time. They keep the AC very cold, and I don't think is necessary yet. Very clean and aesthetically appealing. read more

Cozy spot for a fun drink and satisfying snack! I had the Dirty Thai Tea with coconut jelly, and it was just the kick I needed. We also dug into the veggie egg rolls--crispy and tasty with sweet and sour sauce--and a mountain of fries loaded with your choice of protein, fresh crunchy veggies, and a delicious lemongrass mayo drizzle. Loved that they had hoisin and hot sauce right on the table so we could customize to our taste. Major shoutout to the attendant--she was impressively efficient: juggling drink orders, preparing food, fielding phone calls, running the register, and coordinating delivery orders. This location is similar to their other location by Lee Lees. The drink and sandwiches are good. Service is friendly. Main reason for docking a star is the sandwiches are only good if eaten immediately. The tofu sandwich got really soggy and the red dye from the wrap transferred not the bread when we brought it home and waited 20 min to eat it. Otherwise it's a solid choice! read more

I've been looking forward to Banhdicted opening in Ventana Village for awhile now, but ugh! This is going to be so bad for my wallet! Their banh mi are famously authentic with all the traditional fix-ins, totally satisfying any banh mi craving. Thus far, I've only tried the dac biet/AZ special and the lemongrass beef and both were AMAZING! The baguette is perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, filled with delicious pickles, tender meat (and scrumptious Vietnamese lunch meats, if you order the dac biet), and a tasty pate (a banh mi staple!!). The low prices of their sandwiches and milk tea combined with how GOOD everything is are convincing me to visit multiple times a week!! I'm basically Banhdicted! read more

We've only had their chicken and the pork banh mi's, but they are super tasty. And at $7.95 for those sandwiches it's a really great price as they come in a full size baguette! So excited to have a Banhdicted location on the east side; their banh mis are delicious, served on a light and toasted baguette and with several options for savory fillings. There are both meat and vegetarian/vegan options. My favorites are 1) the tofu (you can get with regular or vegan pâté - I prefer the regular) which is light and refreshing with the pickled vegetables, and 2) the BBQ pork if I'm in the mood for meat - the char of the grilled pork is so good. omg! So excited that Banhdicted is in this side of town now :) Their Banh mi is definitely bomb, probably one of the best sandwich places in Tucson. Can't go wrong with the AZ special or the BBQ pork or really any of them are great. The baguette is fresh and for the fillings there's lots of options and the cost won't break the bank for the portion size of the sandwiches. Haven't tried the milk teas at this specific location but some favorites are jackfruit and mango. The coffee and other drinks are worth a try as well. But the past few times, it just hasn't felt as special. My friend ordered the pho, which was also just okay. I do wish there was a beef option for the Bánh Mì. The spring rolls and wontons were incredible--bursting with flavor, made fresh, and served hot (in the best way). Honestly, probably the best I've ever had. I'd go back just for those. I stopped in because of the great reviews and wanted to try bánh mì for the first time. They were out of lemongrass beef, so I went with the BBQ pork--even though I usually avoid pork. The first few bites were good, but the sandwich quickly turned soggy and had a mystery condiment that completely threw me off. The pork itself seemed like it wasn't very fresh--dry, fatty, and chewy. I did order in advance and arrived about 20 minutes after they said it would be ready, so the sandwich had been sitting for a bit. That said, takeout is part of the business--they should expect situations like this and think through how to package and prepare food in a way that holds up better. In all fairness, most restaurants need to work on this. I ended up tossing the second half. The dragon fruit refresher started off tasting great, but then I saw the large, unrefrigerated plastic jugs of flavoring stacked out in the open. That's a red flag. They had about 30 different flavor options, which felt like way too many. I'd recommend narrowing it down and using higher-quality, more local ingredients--something like prickly pear would be a great fit. I'm not sure where the syrups are sourced from, but likely overseas. Many products from overseas, especially in parts of Asia, don't face the same ingredient regulations, which puts the burden on the restaurant to ensure quality. For over $7, I expected something cleaner and fresher. The drink is still sitting in my fridge, and I'll probably end up tossing it. Honestly, if it had been made with high-quality, real ingredients, I'd gladly pay $10 and become a regular for that drink alone. They also use Styrofoam and plastic for packaging, which cheapens the overall experience and doesn't align with what customers in this part of town typically appreciate. Total came out to about $33. Disclaimer: I want to see this place thrive, and I know they have the potential. I think they could expand their market and attract people from other parts of town and drive in. I've spent the last decade and a half--fully committed and dedicated--to learning about food sourcing and ingredient integrity. Many of my friends run successful restaurants and businesses. I've traveled globally, eating at some of the best restaurants in the world, countless food trucks, and my fair share of Asian street food. I've painstakingly gone out of my way to make sure the food I cook uses the freshest, highest-quality ingredients and produce available in the region. Period. I've also supported a friend who started with a few food trucks in San Francisco and is now a restaurant owner there with lines out the door every hour of every day. I don't have a choice but to notice the details that shape a dining experience, and I feel obligated to lend this feedback because of all of this. I hope they use this review as fuel. What could really help them thrive: * Use eco-friendly, heat-retaining packaging * Simplify the drink menu and use fresher, higher-quality flavoring * Offer condiments on the side for takeout * Be more transparent about ingredients and sourcing * Improve the space by adding one-way reflective tint to the windows to cut the harsh Arizona sun, improve in-store vibes, and regulate interior temperature (which lowers energy costs) * Declutter and simplify the front area behind the register for a cleaner, more modern look * Add a few large palm trees or other plant life inside, as well as a running water fountain near the entrance--either outside or inside--for vibes * Consider sous vide for the pork--so juicy and tender; not enough restaurants are doing it, and it's exactly what people want and need This is one of the wealthiest, most desirable, and aesthetic parts of town. The demographic here is more likely to appreciate quality and is more than willing to pay for it. Match that energy, and this place could absolutely stand out. read more
