    Whipped feta
    Raeann Q.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hills considering I'm not a fan of their sister restaurant the Monica. My friend and I came for happy hour appetizers and mocktails. We made sure to make a reservation and were seated immediately. Service was great we never felt rushed and our waitress provided great clarification on items and drinks We ordered the Brussels sprouts and whipped feta and two mocktails. The whipped feta.. where do I start? It was the star of the show I'm such a big fan I tried to recreate it at home. The salty/ herb flavor of the feta and the honey and crunch from the pepitas it was a culinary masterpiece. The bread was amazing and they gave you enough to actually finish off the feta. The Brussels sprouts had amazing flavor, soft inside and crispy outside. The mocktails weren't the greatest so i would've liked to see more effort on that area. We filled up on the apps and mocktails but SUPER excited to come back for entrees and brunch

Hosted a large group here for brunch and after quite a few hiccups with reservations and orders with this the VERY new biz , all was made well after a refreshing greeting with the general manager . We ended up spending 2 hours socializing and eating . Enjoyed our brunch and overall was happy with the menu options for gluten free & vegan . HUGE Thank you to the staff of "the hills " for accommodating all of us .

We decided to give this new place a try since we live nearby. It was Mother's Day and, surprisingly, it wasn't too busy. The host greeted us warmly and seated us at a high-top table facing the bar. She also mentioned that mothers would receive a free pastry and a flower for Mother's Day, but later when I asked about it, they told me they had already run out, a bit of a bummer... Our waiter was attentive, took our orders promptly, and made good recommendations. However, the wait for the food was about 32 minutes even though the restaurant wasn't busy. At one point, our waiter came by and said he was going to check on our food, which was appreciated because we were definitely getting hungry by then. We ordered the Catalina Chicken and the Far East Noodle Bowl with teriyaki chicken. Both dishes were flavorful, well cooked, and very enjoyable. I also ordered the Tamarindo Cooler, but unfortunately it was extremely sweet and tasted artificial. I could barely drink half of it, so I think the recipe could use some improvement. Another downside was the number of flies around our table and food. The restaurant keeps the patio windows open into the bar area, which may be contributing to the issue. Overall, the food was good and the prices are reasonable for the area, but there are definitely a few things that could improve the experience.

This was our first time dining here and everything was great from start to finish. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. We didn't make a reservation, but they got us a table right away. We were kindly greeted by our server, Jose, who had our drinks to us within minutes. We ordered the whipped feta & honey and it was so flavorful and delicious. He got the yogurt bowl and I had the goddess salad with salmon. Both were perfectly portioned, balanced, and very flavorful. The server was tentative and checked on us throughout our entire dining experience. We look forward to coming back and exploring other menu options, as I'm sure they're also delicious! Cheers!

What a wonderful dinner! Beautiful, cozy, and elegant interior the seats are very comfortable. Cienna our waitress was very nice and engaging and even offered some advice on delicious dishes to try. I loved the meet @ the hills pizza it was loaded with toppings and it was the right amount of food for a filling dinner. Everything was very clean and inviting we definitely enjoyed the meal.

Came on a whim here and really appreciate the atmosphere. They have a nice patio that is dog friendly outside. The inside is just a chill and bright environment. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the whipped feta and honey sharable which tasted amazing. Honestly, I could have just gotten this to eat cause it tasted so good and was way larger than I anticipated. I also got their el tour bowl (yogurt with fruit). It was good too, but the whipped feta just hit different. I also got a ranch water which was made well. All in all, I would love to find this place again on a whim.

Service was friendly and quick. We were there during happy hour and they had discounts on starters and drinks. We had the Goddess Salad and it was plenty for 2. It was fresh but the croutons were very big and hard. We also had the starter meatballs. It was 3 to an order and good size. The sweet potato fries were good. Ambiance was nice except for the fly.

We first tried The Hills during their soft open and have been there twice since. The food has been consistently good, and service has steadily improved as the staff gain experience with this menu/location. The vibe is relaxed with a comfortable, casual feel. We hope to enjoy The Hills for many years to come.

This has quickly become my go-to recommendation whenever friends or family visit from out of town -- and honestly, it's the first place I suggest when anyone asks me for the best new spots in Tucson. The vibe is warm and inviting, similar to the Monica but with a cozy, family-restaurant feel. The staff makes you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door -- consistently friendly every single time. The food is a straight 10/10. My personal favorites are the steak and frites, the prickly pear BBQ wings, and the freebird chicken and fries. I've also had no hesitation stealing bites off my friends' and family's plates -- because everything that comes out of that kitchen is delicious.

Stellar and within walking distance! What's not to love? The chicken & waffles with (oddly very little) fig jam were outstanding and sparkling limeade on tap is just so refreshing. My friend ordered a cranberry drink of some sort, turned out it was alcoholic and she didn't want it, so I drank that too!! Cute, simple decor and pleasant and accommodating staff, still figuring things out in some cases, but in all, this is a winner! Welcome to the hood!!

To start, the food was excellent is was well cooked and juicy the meat wasn't really seasoned, but the bacon seasoning makes up for it the service was excellent we had a very nice conversation with the general manager he was very nice and so was our server. The place is very loud on the inside however, the outside is beautiful during the evening.

FYI It's still the soft opening up to Sunday Mothers Day 5-10-26 with 25% off entrees & happy hour drink discounts 3$? ( usual happy hour 2-6 daily ? Check ) Always happy to see Dustin who is the new experienced GM manager at several el charro si charro concepts . Dustin always there with professional care for the dining experience . He's been with charro Vida, been with SI Charro for some time . Dustin consistently brings the hospitality experience for the patrons & has great respect for his staff also . I've been to the hills soft opening 3 times . Dustin asked me respectfully please wait to review earlier , but gave the ok to write a Yelp review, I did. I first tried the steak & frites entree with a New York strip with chimichuri topping ( liked ) on top the steak which had been sliced and presented on sweet potato fries ( like) ; it was tasty . Last Friday & today came back for their Friday only fish & chips" two large pieces of tender Walleye lightly breaded served on bed of fries with Cole slaw & their tartar sauce. The breading on the fish is very light which for me adds to the enjoyment of the large portions of tender walleye .Both times with fish consistently good that's why I returned . Trust me it's a winner & could even be split to try something else . The menu includes salads , sandwiches , pasta , steak , burgers , personal pizzas & more . Loads of drinks with Wednesdays half off bottles of wine . The former commoner space has been totally renovated with a cool vibe w old stereo tv console as the entry station along with old porcelain gas store set up with the hills merch . There's a private brick dining room in back east side . Great Mountain View's from the n dining room area , bar pub area including tall passed seating & stool by bar , with full long porch set up with tables even a outdoor sofa area with a couple rocking chairs all on west side . I was so happy to see Isabel at the bar who works at El Charro Ventana across the street . Sitting at the bar met a new cool bar crew Laylani ,Jose, Sarah, with Marquis from downtown charro steak with super service thank you . I'm sure the hills will be a hit , it's already popular! Bueno Suerte ! ( fyi ...no si charro gift cards accepted , told until Xmas in July 2026 new cards are sold & issued , told new restaurant )

    Impala burger (5/2026)

Closer to 4.5 stars We had just run Sabino Canyon and were looking for a late (7:30p) casual dinner. With The Hills open until 9p it was a match, albeit with some big shoes to fill ala the beloved Commoner. We started with the Brussels Sprouts and commended the chef on the novel far eastern twist, but the soy sauce was too much and likely dampened any crispness. She got the Impala burger and I got the sausage n 'shroom pizza. For those familiar with The Monica, their pizzas are virtual twins - which is a good thing - excellent crust/dough and "Monica" paper underneath as a sweet nod to the sister venue. My lone complaint about the pizza was that both end pieces of the oval were basically void of any toppings... something that should have been resolved the previous two weeks during their soft opening. The Impala burger was terrific but we would get it next time with the sugary bbq sauce on the side. We loved the 70/30 beef/mushroom blend of the patty too. We also tried the Tamarindo Cooler but I customized it (based on other's criticizing its overly sweetness) with "very light" agave syrup and no ice. They nailed the tweaks but... we could barely taste tamarind, i.e., it was nothing like the delicious taste of a southside agua fresca, and not worth $8.50. Service by Santi was very gracious. And parking is easy. We like that they maintained all of the same indoor and outdoor seating layout as the Commoner, and we opted for the quieter (and less air conditioned) patio on this beautiful May evening. We will be looking fwd to trying some more apps and dessert! Note: the happy hour "menu" is buried at the very bottom of the main menu, in tiny print (see my magnified photo) but the essence is: M-F, 2-6p with -$3 off nearly all drinks... that's how you do it!

I had previously been to their Campbell location, so this time I wanted to try something completely different for breakfast. I went with the Monte Cristo with a side of their potatoes, and wow this dish absolutely delivered. First, the bread. It's thick, almost like Texas toast, which gives the whole sandwich a perfect structure. Inside, it's stuffed with delicious ham and melty cheese, then battered and cooked into that classic Monte Cristo style. The outside is crispy, the inside is soft and gooey, and every bite is full of flavor. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you pause for a second after the first bite because you know you made the right choice. And the potatoes... how do you make something as simple as potatoes taste that good? They're small, perfectly cooked, and somehow packed with flavor in every bite. My friend ordered the Duck Confit Skillet and she was definitely not disappointed. Just the presentation alone makes it look incredible, but the flavors are where it really shines. It's made with braised duck, shallots, spinach, cabernet-braised cherries, and cherry goat cheese mousse. And let me tell you they did not hold back on that cheese mousse. It was a generous scoop and it paired perfectly with the dish. It also comes with the same delicious potatoes I had, which again, did not disappoint. She ordered her eggs over medium, and honestly that's exactly how I'd get them too. For drinks, she had an iced matcha latte and I stuck with their house coffee. She said the matcha was amazing, and my coffee was exactly what you want with brunch, warm, smooth, and reliable. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which always makes the experience better. The restaurant itself is spotless and really aesthetically pleasing. It's bright, welcoming, and kind of feels like you've stepped into your grandma's cozy cottage kitchen - warm, charming, and just really cute. Safe to say... I'll definitely be back.

When I read the reviews, people raved about how great this chickpea scramble was so I was looking forward. It really wasn't anything to write home about. Bland, dry. Neither of us had been there in quite a while and were looking forward to it. The restaurant is clean and spacious and we were seated right away and given menus. Eclectic is a perfect name. Everyone should be able to find something that appeals: sandwiches, egg dishes, salads, Mexican, and more. I'd been craving a Rueben and my friend decided to try the taco salad, which is on the seasonal menu. The waiter complimented my choice, saying the Rueben is the best thing on the menu and likely the best Rueben I've ever had, so I was excited. He offered sweet potato fries as an add-on, and I took the offer. Our food arrived soon. I am a bit late on the photos, sorry. A couple bites are gone from my sandwich and the top layer of my friend's salad was already gone. The salad was billed as chicken, beans, cheese, and a host of others things, packed into a generously-sized bowl. She was sure the meat was pork based on taste and color and asked the waiter, but he said it was chicken. My sandwich was plump with corned beef, cheese and sauerkraut. It had lots of tasty sauce but the bottom bread was so soggy that it disintegrated and was difficult to eat. I ended up separating the breads, scraped all the good stuff onto the crispy side of bread, and it was good. I was getting full, so just ate the insides of the second half, so didn't deal with the other soggy toast. The sweet potato fries were lightly crispy and should have been served hot.they did taste good and came with a dipping sauce I enjoyed. All in all, it was a nice lunch out, great company, but the food was nothing special. My sandwich, fries, her salad, two soft drinks came to $54 plus tip.
