Parish catfish & fries entree. The catfish itself has a classic southern drawl of flavor; not fishy and absolutely Delish.

Favorite Cajun style restaurant in Tucson! We've traveled Louisiana Cajun region a ton and have loved the food. Parish Restaurant delivers authentic goodness. Usually I order the Gumbo at Parish. In fact only once did I get out of my comfort zone and explored the Catfish & fries. Now I have a problem. Catfish or gumbo? Easy fix; get 'em both as a small bowl of gumbo will work. Staff at Parish define southern hospitality. Interior of Parish Restaurant also screams "Louisiana " with colorful walls & art.

I was always hesitant to go to The Parish because the menu is pretty heavy on the meat, but I was ready to explore because my family really wanted to dine there. To my great surprise, I had a couple of great options, so we dove in! Three appetizers -- Blue Cornbread, spicy edamame, and the Brussels sprouts -- and all were excellent! I devoured the edamame -- yummy AND healthy. I asked to have the candied pecans on the side of the Brussels sprouts, but unfortunately, my request was ignored. They were still delicious, but since I don't do sugar, I had to pick around the sauce and pecans to enjoy what I could. We had four different entrees (I missed a few pics), and all were very good. However, some of our requests, like the pecans, were completely overlooked. I asked for the salmon roe on the side, and it came right on top. My kid asked for a medium-well steak, and it came very, very(!) pink. Paying attention to these little nuances would have taken our experience much further. Overall, cozy, authentic, really good food -- and really feel-good food! I'm glad I finally tried The Parish.

I keep going back to try more food from this unique and tantalizing menu! I've loved everything I've had served by warm, welcoming, pleasant staff. It's a colorful, classy place frequented by a loyal group of locals known to servers! No pic here, but the pickle berry pie is to die for!!!!

Our fourth time here and it did not disappoint yet again. Raymond was our server and he was great at asking the right questions to then give us his recommendations based on our answers. His service was top notch! Ambiance is always cool. Our food was EXCELLENT once again!

The delicious shrimp poboy with equally delicious red beans and rice.

Still love the place, the vibe is still outstanding as is the food. Sat at the bar today and the BT was very pleasant and provided amazing service. I started with an ice cold beer which was well appreciated on a day where temps hit 100 degrees. For sustenance I ordered a shrimp poboy, with remoulade instead of tartar sauce, with a cup of red beans and rice on the side. Both were delicious and quite filling. Also was impressed that the owner actually comes out and talks to his customers. He even recognized me, and I hadn't seen him since he owned The French Quarter way back in the day. lol I highly recommend this restaurant, hell I drove all the way from the other side of town just to eat there.

Four for dinner the other evening. They don't have a huge menu, but the selections are unusual (catfish, frog legs) and they are done so nicely. And the prices are not crazy, considering the quality of the food. I tried the catfish for the first time. It comes fish-fry style with more fries than I could possibly eat. The fish was perfectly breaded and fried, really enjoyed it. They have some nice pasta dishes which a couple of our guests ordered and really enjoyed. The service was good - our waitress got us our drinks and checked on us while we were having our entrees. The ambiance is a bit odd - kind of dark, velvet-backed seating, etc. I suppose to emulate the opulence of the French Quarter. Just be aware that it is not brightly lit. Great quality food at non-extortion prices. We will return regularly.

Hands down the best pasta I've ever had, no exaggeration. The drunken angel is creamy, savory and absolutely mouth watering. I'm still craving it. All the dishes we tried were so good. Our start of the charbroiled oysters was an amazing choice. They were perfectly flavored and served warm. The hush puppies were crispy but not dry, with a lil spice to them. My parents loved both their dishes as well! Highly recommend trying them if you make a visit to Tuscan! We were sat outside due to how busy it was (was still beautiful) but if you want inside come at an odd time of day or make a reservation. Our server was amazing too, very informative and attentive! Let us know all the specials and was very kind and warm!

The eclectic decor was the best thing about this place. My guy and I tried Guedry's Gumbo and added shrimp. We love gumbo normally, but this wasn't anything special. It was very peppery, heavy on the rice vs protein, and very unmemorable. The hush puppies it came with were really nicely cooked and had a good crisp to them. I enjoyed the gumbo only when dipping the hush puppies in them. For dessert, we tried the Pickle Berry Pie since we had never heard of anything like that before. Every bite was a punch of flavor and not in a good way. There was just too much going on and it became overwhelming after the 2nd or 3rd bite. Interesting to try, but I would not get it again nor recommend. This was the most expensive gumbo I've ever had and it was probably the least satisfying. Thankfully, I was not too hungry because I do not have high hopes for their other dishes.

Ambiance is western saloon with a quirky feel. We got there at lunchtime so there's a 35 minute wait. We opted to seat at the bar instead of doing the wait outside. The bar tender was so nice, fast and quick with our drinks and in taking our order. We had the gumbo and a burger. Highly recommend both, the gumbo has a kick to it but if you want more they do offer a bottle of hot sauce. The hush puppies have chopped jalapeño on it so it's a nice kick to it as well. To wash it down we had one of there non-alcoholic Moscow mule and a pale ale. Parking is easily available.

We've been maybe three times now on various Tucson visits & had a wonderful dinner this time. Great server, Raymond, knowledgeable & around when needed. Cute interior, fun cocktails. Happy hour 3pm-6pm. We got the roasted oysters but were disappointed in them. They were not like roasted oyster we had in NO. They had some kind of a spicy creamy sauce which just overtook the oysters. Just this cream of mushroom soup-like quality, barely taste the texture of the oysters. (Go with the raw). I had the rainbow trout which was perfection, very very good. Husband had the gumbo with shrimp & hush puppies & he loved his meal--excellent! I swapped him a hush puppy for one of my potato wedges, and they were one of the best I've had. Chopped jalapeño bits & very crispy exterior.

Absolutely love this place. It is always on our dining list when visiting Tucson...usually twice. The best Bread Pudding I've ever had. Service is the best in town (we always ask for Lawson). Small patio but it has a great view.

This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Tucson. Loved the vibe and the service was great. We had the salmon and the shrimp and grits. Both dishes had amazing flavors and kept you wanting more. We would eat here every night if possible. A must when in the area! Love it!

Oyster po-boy and hush puppies. Delicious!
    Marion R.

I haven't been here in years, but we went there today for lunch, and it was so good! The oyster po-boy and hush puppies were perfect. My husband loved his Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the side salad. I had a bite too and it was crazy spicy, but yum! Love the decor-very New Orleans! Made me want to go on a trip. The service was really good too-our server kept that Diet Coke coming.

Great question that deserves a complimentary answer: YES! Just ask the wait staff for a second plate to share the meal.

    Is this restaurant normally loud?

We've only been there for lunch. Never noticed it being loud. Just people enjoying their lunch.

How likely is it that one can have dinner without a reservation?

I would suggest reservations, even on week nightts. They get busy very quickly, and wait times can extend from . 15 minutes to 1/2-hour without reservations

Yes They offer vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options

They even had a lager made with pickles! (not my thing, but it has fans). You can also tell right away this spot is great for large groups, and the patio is like 50 feet long--probably amazing in better weather What I like: You can't go wrong with the food, either. I'm a big fan of the southwestern egg rolls (a better rendition of them than a certain chain restaurant). The sandwiches are decent. Nothing really sticks out as a signature item, and nothing is made with a particular beer pairing in mind, but I'll forgive them--it's solid food. When it cools down a bit, I'll certainly return here to try more lesser-known beers and a snack. The location is a little out of the way, but you won't regret going a couple miles outside of downtown for this.

The grilled chicken sandwich is my go-to and it's good every time. We both usually get one, and a lot of the time we'll add buffalo wings, which are some of our favorites in Tucson. Good flavor, good texture, and always reliable. If anything, the wings could always use a little more sauce, but they're still one of the better orders on the menu. The only real issue, and it happens pretty often, is the service speed. Everyone there is friendly, but the place always feels understaffed, especially when it's busy. We've had multiple times sitting outside in the Arizona heat where it takes 15-20 minutes just to get water to the table, and you start wondering if you should go up to the bar yourself to get things moving. The food is consistent, the atmosphere is great, and the plaza has a real sense of community that makes it easy to hang out there for a while. I choose to believe that our server was so awesome that she noticed we were watching F1 race on our tiny phone and put it on TV for us!! Honestly, just for that, 5 stars in my book.
