We stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon, not knowing that Social Hour (3-6pm) had started. We had our dog with us so we needed to stay on the patio.T We each had a beer. I had my blood orange wheat and he had a milk stout. We sat on a comfy couch next to a large Bouganvilla shrub with nesting birds. Those birds kept buzzing over us. I enjoyed watching them. The inside is nicely decorated with solid wood tables and an extensive whiskey bar. The beer and wine list is also impressive. Service and ambiance were both very good, but the only thing I wish the place offered were misters for outside seating. We were the only ones outside and we are an older couple, so it wasn't economical to have any misters running. read more

Stopped in for dessert and a drink and enjoyed the outdoors music. The coffee was perfect mix. The whiskey apple pie was hot and delicious with melting ice cream and a crispy hot crust. It was a nice sports bar with efficient service, delicious cocktails & comfort food. For our weekly date night, we decided to watch a soccer match over drinks with friends, and it turned into a fun evening out together. The house-made pretzels weren't quite as soft and chewy as we had hoped, but the fried cauliflower appetizer was definitely our favorite dish of the night. read more

If you want a boozy brunch, but you're also tired of going downtown on Sunday morning, Union Public house has you covered. And if you've made dinner plans, or just want to have some bar food while watching sports, Union does that too! What I love: Ice-cold, bubbly bottomless mimosas on a pleasant Sunday morning. Burgers (they make a good burger) with basketball on at Sunset. This is a great hangout spot at any time of day, and service has been consistently outstanding. What I also enjoy: The breakfast food sticks to the basics, but is done well. They make surprisingly decent pizzas, if you're in the mood for that. As with everything else in the surrounding plaza, it gets busy and there's often some sort of event out front, usually a market or live music. You should drop by while the weather is still perfect! read more

My brother an I went for lunch. I had the prosciutto goat cheese thing like a pizza. I found the prosciutto to be way too salty more like American deli ham. Once I removed it the dish was ok. My brother had the yardbird and he too said it was ok but would not order it again. Service was nice and friendly. read more

St Philip's plaza hosts a variety of restaurants in a courtyard where they have I've bands playing almost every weekend. it can get really packed so make sure you get there early like 530-6pm for a table outside but the inside usually isn't as full if you just want to eat or drink. Union serves American food with salads, soups, appetizers and entrees with a great selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. My favorite appetizers are the cauliflower wings and the mixed charcuterie board. Most of the entrees are delicious (tried most of them) and the servings are quite big. It's definitely a fun place to gather for fun, dancing, watch sports ,drinking, and to hear live music or dj. read more

Stopped in for a team happy hour, and it exceeded our expectations. The location is convenient, offering ample parking and plenty of seating, which made coordinating a group outing effortless. The happy hour menu featured a variety of enticing options. We sampled the Po'boy, the Cubano, the pretzel appetizer, and the chicken sandwich all of which were flavorful and satisfying. The service was friendly and efficient, ensuring our orders arrived promptly and correctly. I tried the Ube drink: bourbon, passionfruit, hazelnut. Please make sure you like Ube if your oder this. I loved it as it was quote refreshing. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it an ideal setting for unwinding after work, date night or bring the family. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and we look forward to returning for future gatherings. read more

Pretty good food. However it can be extremely loud and crowded especially if eating inside instead of the patio.

I ate here tonight. I ordered a coke and got ice water with a little bit of coke added to it. This is for four dollars. I asked the waitress for a different one with less water. She brought me a slightly less watered down one but still with plenty of water obviously added to it. I'm guess the management or corporate is telling them to do this. Careful about all of this 'less for more' crap. I'll try this place one more time and if it's the same, I'm done with it. read more

Ok, fair review would be 3.75 stars. I want to like Union. I go to Union all the time. Why? Space Dust on tap. One of few places here in Tucson that offers that. Service is great at the bar, and avg when I have been at the tables eating a meal. I use this place as more of a bar than a restaurant. Food is pretty good. I like their boards. The pickled veggies. Love that it skews older. Fun crowd, lots of TV's best place to watch NFL imo. in Tucson. read more

Union Public House has become a regular spot for me and my girlfriend. We're there almost every week, sometimes twice a week, especially on Saturdays when there's an event, a game on, or something going on in the plaza. That whole St. Philip's area always has a great energy, and UPH is a big part of that. There's usually a crowd, live music or sports on, and it feels like one of those places where you can bring friends from out of town and know it'll be a fun time. Food is consistently solid. The grilled chicken sandwich is my go-to and it's good every time. We both usually get one, and a lot of the time we'll add buffalo wings, which are some of our favorites in Tucson. Good flavor, good texture, and always reliable. If anything, the wings could always use a little more sauce, but they're still one of the better orders on the menu. The only real issue, and it happens pretty often, is the service speed. Everyone there is friendly, but the place always feels understaffed, especially when it's busy. We've had multiple times sitting outside in the Arizona heat where it takes 15-20 minutes just to get water to the table, and you start wondering if you should go up to the bar yourself to get things moving. Once service gets going everything is fine, but getting that first round of attention can take longer than it should for how often this place fills up. Even with that, we keep coming back. The food is consistent, the atmosphere is great, and the plaza has a real sense of community that makes it easy to hang out there for a while. It's one of our go-to spots in Tucson, and it's still somewhere we bring friends when they're visiting. Food 7.5 Ambience 8 Service 7 Price 7 7.4 overall C Great place to spend time, just don't expect everything to happen quickly when it's busy. read more

The food here was pretty good, I'd definitely come back and try some of the other items. We came through the front door and no one was at the hostess station, there was no sign to seat yourself or wait. My husband had to use the restroom so I waited, and still no one. I stood there for 2-3 mins until my husband returned. Still no one even asked or let us know anything. We decided to head to the back in order to sit outside. We ran into a server and asked if we could sit he said yes and he would get us menus. We sat and were able to order. There was an issue in the kitchen apparently and it took awhile for orders to be taken. The restaurant is nice, and the area around the plaza is very nice. Hopefully this was just a bad day for them, and not the usual service. read more

We had a fun night out here with some family. The location is fantastic, situated in a beautiful complex that is even better during Christmas time. The food was very satisfying! I enjoyed the Pot Pie, and my dining partner customized the noodle dish with salmon (instead of the tofu), and it was very tasty. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. Plus, the drinks were spot on--perfectly mixed and a great complement to the meal. Fair warning: this place is definitely lively! It gets pretty loud with lots of TVs, making it a great place to watch a game or just soak up a fun, high-energy atmosphere. If you are looking for tasty food, great drinks, and a bustling, fun environment, especially in a gorgeous setting, check this place out! read more

I REALLY wanna like this place. The location is cute, the service is fast, and the happy hour prices are just right. The food however is a continuous miss. My friends and I went for Monday all day happy hour (happy hour only applies to drinks, not food), and ordered five different appetizers. Everything was bland. The fried cauliflower was breaded well, but the breading had no seasoning. You had to rely on the sauce you picked to add flavor. The mac n cheese looked decadent, but wasn't actually. It would've benefited from salt and a fuller cheese flavor. The fries and chicken wings were a dry, also needing the ketchup or ranch for flavor. I really don't get it! For the price especially, it didn't meet expectations. I used to go here a lot in college like 6-7 years ago, but it's not how I remember. I will not be back sadly. read more

I ordered a New York steak that came out way overcooked. I had to track someone down to notify them first. Finally got a new steak about 30 minutes later which is fine. I'd recommend this place for the experience. Nice music patio and descent food. After reading all the reviews, I ordered the fish and chips...disappointed! The fish was kind of mushy and the chips just so-so.However my wife ordered chicken tenders appetizer and poutine. Chicken tenders were best I've ever had, and a huge portion. Poutine was ok. Food and Service excellent as always. Atmosphere ruined by the thinly veiled MAGA event in the plaza.

Giving it only 4 stars because waiter wasn't very attentive. I'm going to assume not very experienced and hopefully he'll get better. I got the pot pie which was very pleasant to the eye and palate. Hubs got The Torta- ended up being a messy meal, but he said it was good. Friends got mussels, hummus plate, and cubano. They enjoyed it. I'm not recommending house red wine- woke up with headache and I only had one glass.‍‍‍ Was busy and extremely loud. Games were going on so..... Wonderful sports bar, with knowledgeable servers, and a great menu and drinks offering!

The positives first... we chose to sit at the bar so seating wasn't an issue; there was someone at the door that I'm sure would have seated us quickly. The bathroom was SPOTLESS and that tells me that the kitchen is also. Jordan was available immediately and offered us menus, water, and a great smile. We opted for a mule (him) and a fig-ure it out (me). Both drinks were really good. My bourbon drink was fabulous. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich which may be the Cubano with a hh name? He loved his sandwich and the side salad. He made a point of saying that the honey-mustard dressing was amazing, BEST he's ever had. I got the salmon cakes. This is is only negative. They were thick, we'll presented but all filler. There was no taste. My husband agreed. By the time I had confirmation we'd eaten most of them so I didn't complain to Jordan. As for service, I wanted to know how they'd respond to a non moneymaking issue So when I downloaded the app and couldn't get the charge to scan I asked the woman at the front and she didn't know but immediately found a Mgr who found a bartender who explained that they did the scan and she did. Great CS! read more

Me and my girlfriend came in for a nice brunch, the table was wobbly, that's just the start. My girlfriend ordered the basic breakfast with gluten-free bread. The bread was full of mold. The mold was on the top and bottom and it's obviously visible. So that just shows the lack of attentiveness to the food being put out here. My pot pie was soggy and oily. Overall terrible food. To add to it, our server gave us a 35% off discount. And when she brought us the bill, it was $53. I just gave her $60 cash and left. And after I realized not only did we not get a discount, but we got overcharged Almost $10. Her breakfast was $14. The brussels sprouts were $12. And my pot pie was $18. Make that make sense. I'm not one to be upset about bad food or service. But the fact that I was overcharged feels very suspicious. I hate being that guy that complains but this is unacceptable. read more
