Love, love, LOVE this space on 4th Ave in Downtown Tucson!! I was recently in town visiting family and noticed it while having a weekend night out for some drinks on Fourth Avenue - I'm not sure how new it is but I hasn't seen it before and thought it looked pretty cool! Its Boxyard name comes from the various shipping containers that make up most of the buildings inside. It reminded me of Container Park in Las Vegas and similar places in Downtown Austin. I'm very excited that Tucson has a place like this now too!! We were there on a Saturday night, so it was very crowded with a DJ playing in the back, yet it was still open and spacious enough to have plenty of breathing room. I also loved how there's more than one bar for grabbing drinks at and a few food options - we got a couple of smash burgers from Daddyburger inside and they were GREAT!! Took a little while to be ready but it was a busy Saturday night, so understandable. Definitely make sure to add the arugula and pickles to it - loved the extra textures and crunch. The burger hit the spot and the fries were solid McDonald's type fries. Other food options inside included a Mexican food/burrito spot with several vegan options and also a sandwiches/snacks thing! We ended up just eating, drinking, and dancing to the music the whole night there. It was a blast!! Worst service disrespectful I go upstairs to find seating in a nice area for my disabled boyfriend and get yelled "what are you doing" as if I'm some kid. Like sir I'm looking for somewhere to sit and was making faces the whole time.even though I was not sure where to go, will never go agian due to disrespectful behavior didn't feel welcoming at all!!! Fun atmosphere and as far as food, we eat only at Los Perché as they have amazing vegan options. And their service is perfect and kind!

Good variety of drinks, food (food truck options) is just ok and takes a long time to get. They kick you out at 8pm with anyone under 21, so really only good for college students or adults wanting to drink. read more

Outdoor food court with several diverse options for a nice dinner...and a bar! Here's what they've got: -A Vietnamese place specializing in Bahn Mi. It also has a couple of other popular dishes like cream cheese wontons and Pad Thai -Indian food. I order this the least, but I adore their scrumptious samosas -A by-the-slice pizzeria that takes like 20 minutes because they literally roll out your dough and bake it fresh when you order (it is better than at least two other late-night slices in the area) -Some of the best Mexican food you'll find in AZ, complete with its signature bacon-wrapped burritos (You should split this with a friend, they are HEARTY) -There's also a bar. Draft and can selection is great, so stick with beer/cider/seltzer There's even a coffee bar if you make it here early enough! -Sometimes, there are DJs on Saturday nights or when weather permits, during brunch. Only improvements I could ask for are some more clearly defined hours for establishments, as it's rare to see all 4 open at the same time. I also wish the cocktails didn't suck, but if you came to 4th ave to drink you have a million other bars anyway. This is *the* spot for when your party can't decide on what to eat. read more

I was tempted to give it a one star. The food is mediocre. Service non existent and there were homeless people near the restaurant both when we walked in and in the other direction when we left. Iron horse was billed as an interesting historic district. We found it to be squalid and uninteresting. There are nice things in general Tucson area but as far as we can see they are not v close to Tucson. Karcher caves was amazing and Chiricahua was a great hiking spot. But I didn't find anything in Tucson that did much for us read more

Great spot for happy hour drinks in downtown Tucson when the weather is nice outside! Love the laid back outdoor seating, quick service, and they have several different food options (Burgers, Vietnamese, & Mexican). It reminds me of those food truck stops, however they are all housed in shipping containers instead. read more

Our first time trying this place, out of curiosity. We came on a Sunday night with my family, it's not crowded, which is a good thing. Getting a table was not a hassle. It's a food court concept and the booths are made out of shipping containers, which is really cool. At the time of my visit there are two bars that are open and Indian, Mexican, Vietnamese and pizza place that are open. There's pretty much good selection. It's pretty much for the younger generation, they have music playing on the background. I like the fact they check for ID if you're planning to drink alcoholic beverages, as you enter the place. Just don't expect a clean restroom, so you won't get disappointed. read more

This place was very busy on a Saturday evening around 4:30 pm. I ordered a soft drink and fries from Daddybuger and a Vietnamese sandwich from Nhu Lan Vietnam. It took about 45 minutes to receive both orders. The fries were ok (very similar to McDonalds), they were fries from the bottom of the bag so not the best. My bread to my sandwich was very hard and dry not soft with a crust. They only gave me a packet of soy sauce for my sandwich. I had to go to the counter in order for them to give me my fish sauce that is actually comes with. I was not impressed and will not be a customer. read more

Food is amazing, bartenders are amazing, until you come across the brown haired bartender with a mustache. He is extremely rude, always closing the upstairs seating area towards the front early. Tonight I asked the other bartender if we were able to sit up there because the last time it was closed, I was told it was also the brown haired male bartenders choice to close it early, and it was opened for me. Tonight I was told we were allowed to go as long as we brought or glasses down; which was fair. We went upstairs and as we came down to retrieve our food he was standing at the bottom of the stairs with "you know you aren't allowed up there, right?" I told him the other bartender had allowed us to go up there under the agreed terms, yet before I even finished my sentence I heard "yeah... nah. You're not allowed" and as someone who comes from a hospitality job, that response was extremely off putting. On the way out the bouncer told me they have had multiple complaints over this bartender. I love coming to boxyard, but when I see that bartender there I will leave. Unfortunately I did not see him before I ordered my drink and food otherwise I would not have been a patron. read more

INTERESTING FUN PLACE! What I love about this spot is all of the different food options! You can come with a group of people, and everyone can order what they like to eat. The options range from Vietnamese, Mexican, Indian, to Pizza! I tried the bacon wrapped burrito from Los Perches, which is the main reason I came here. It did not disappoint! It was large enough to share, so keep that in mind. Attached in my photo is only HALF of the burrito! Finally we had chance to try this place. Previously we came around 11.30am and only 1 booth was open so we canceled to try. This time we come around 7pm, there is a person greeted us and said we are ok because it will be for 21 and above after 8pm. We ordered from Sal's 2 slices of pizza. I asked for the sausage & pepper with no pepper because its for kids, the guy who serve us is very nice, he understand and even ofer to cut the pizza into 4 slices. Went for the Juneteenth event. There was a live DJ. It was a wonderful time. Good crowd, kids and adults just vibing. Food was a bit costly overall, but tasty nonetheless. There was a guess Chef there-Cooking by Cort whose food was AMAZING. First time I met friends at 5pm for drinks & poss some food at this container "boxyard" with multiple food vendors. I was concerned it would be too warm on a 105 degree day to be out in the open air seating, but the misters were cranked and it was quite pleasant! I was happy I was wearing a hat or it would've made for crazy hair, tho. The crowd is mixed but skews to college age. Music was good & suited to all, a variety of seating choices from picnic tables to adriondack chairs & A/C upstairs for those who can't hack the heat. Drinks were decent, bartenders were friendly, food options were just what our group (vegans, vegetarians, meat lovers) all found something to eat. My next visits were also happy experiences. I LOVE THE BOXYARD! This is a shaded courtyard with delicious food trucks, bars, and plenty of TVs frequently playing sports games. Los Perches is my favorite Mexican food in Tucson! They have amazing vegan options and the burrito is my favorite. Daddyburger has AMAZING burgers and the daddysauce is to die for. Think In and Out but 10x better. This is the best place for dates, to watch sports games, and group hang outs because of the variety of food and beverage options! read more

The box yard is unique. Also a great option for a group who is hungry and thirsty but doesn't all share the same taste. Aside from the bar, they have a Mexican place, an Indian food place, Italian, and Vietnamese place to choose from. I won't review the individual restaurants in this post because they are all independently operated. But the ones we have tried have been good. There is plenty of seating and they even have some covered areas upstairs if you prefer. The bar has a good selection of spirits with some signature drink options. Amazing idea and a great hangout spot! When you enter the place, present your ID and get your hand stamped to be able to go to the bar. Once inside the area there are table and chairs all over the place....seating for two, for four and even long tables for big groups and for sharing with others. The bar service is quick and the bartenders friendly. My guy went with a beer but I tried one of the cocktails on the menu - the Villareal which was absolutely delicious. Mezcal, Ancho Reyes, lime juice and mango syrup with a chamoy/tajin rim. My mouth is watering as I write this. Food choices are Vietnamese, Indian, Pizza and Mexican. I honestly thought there'd be more of a selection. My guy wanted a slice of pizza from Sal's but was told at the window that it would be 90 minutes before they could have any food available. 90 minutes....WTH? This was about 7pm on a Saturday. No explanation, just no food. We went to Percheron (Mexican) and split a carne asada burrito wrapped n bacon. Holy hell, was it good! You order your food and they give you a pager so they can let you know when your food is ready. That was nice since it allowed us to go to the bar and find a table and wait for the pager to light up. I know they have live music but there was none when we were there but the place was packed with families, college kids and regular folk like us. A nice mix of clientele. Not sure if it's possible to get more restaurants in there but they sure could use more. They could also use a better cooling system as it was pretty miserable with just fans blowing here and there. And the flies! They were horrible. Now I know it's an unusual monsoon this year and the moisture has brought out the bugs in force but some kind of fly control would have been nice. Really innovative setup, likely had to be very inexpensive to get this setup completed. Basic small 18 wheeler carriage boxes aligned around semi perpendicular to sit and drink beer. Airy, fun, small and well shaded with fans and very loud music. It's an enjoyable, outdoor, industrial complex right in the heart of downtown. The food quality and taste is unfortunately the least enjoyable part of this experience. 4 'restaurants' that take on average 20-25minutes to deliver sub-par tasting food; fortunately it's not too expensive but for the price, you certainly expect a lot more in speed and flavor. What IS great about this place is the fact that they are open till midnight AND to 2AM Thursday through Sunday. KuRAZZY!! I went here for a work happy hour and had a great time. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because all of the seating is outside and it was hot! They have a lot of fans and misters but unfortunately where we were sitting, we did not benefit from them. Drinks are pricey but very good. I had the gin drink, It's Britney Betch, and it was great. Super cute, fun place to hangout on a Saturday with friends! I tried the the Sonoran Dog and bacon wrapped (+$2.50) Percheron burrito from Percheron and it was delicious! The Sonoran dog was good but honestly nothing out of the ordinary that I would get again. But the burrito. OMG. so yummy, it is definitely hearty when combined with the bacon wrapped but let me tell you it was delicious!!! The contrast in textures with the crispy bacon, tortilla and meat was sooooo yummmm I would definitely get it again! I did split it with a friend so don't know how I would've felt after eating an entire one by myself but the portion I had was amazing. Also ask for hot sauce on the side it's super good with the burrito. My friend had the pad Thai noodles from Nhu Lan which I think was supposed to be around $8 and somehow got tricked into paying $10! He didn't get a chance to check before giving his credit card because after taking his order the cashier asked for the credit card without giving him the total and didn't even give him a receipt!
