The ambience was amazing. So many options for food and seating. We had an interaction with an employee at Daddy Burger that really put me off. I hope we didn't interrupt his conversation by being there. The rest of our interactions were pleasant and the food was amazing.

Drinks, food, music, and a crowd. What more can you ask for located in Tucson on fourth Avenue this little spot is great. Plenty of choices of food to choose from different bars all serving up some amazing drinks one of the great ones. The Tucson Gatorade is a must try.. No The music be blasting all the greatest songs from new school to old school. I'm sure everyone will find something either to eat or drink and enjoy.

Great spot for happy hour drinks in downtown Tucson when the weather is nice outside! Love the laid back outdoor seating, quick service, and they have several different food options (Burgers, Vietnamese, & Mexican). It reminds me of those food truck stops, however they are all housed in shipping containers instead.

Our first time trying this place, out of curiosity. We came on a Sunday night with my family, it's not crowded, which is a good thing. Getting a table was not a hassle. It's a food court concept and the booths are made out of shipping containers, which is really cool. At the time of my visit there are two bars that are open and Indian, Mexican, Vietnamese and pizza place that are open. There's pretty much good selection. It's pretty much for the younger generation, they have music playing on the background. I like the fact they check for ID if you're planning to drink alcoholic beverages, as you enter the place. Just don't expect a clean restroom, so you won't get disappointed.

I came here Saturday night with some friends. I thought both the Morgan's Bong Water and The Thomas were too bitter (with The Thomas a little less bitter). I loved It's Britney, Betch (with Hendricks) and would get this again. Service was friendly. I love that they put the cocktail menu on a post by the bar.

Ask the Community - The Boxyard

    Can kids come in?

    Yes

Can Boxyard hold large group for example A party of 30?

It's a very large space and could comfortably hold that many people in one party, but when we were there on a Saturday afternoon, there wasn't a single seat open for even just two of us to sit.

    Are they dog friendly?

Yes. I have never had my dogs there but I've seen people with theirs.

Does anyone know if they have a good selection of non-spicy foods?

I think so. Most of the spices/sauces are on the side

Despite only 3 other occupied tables, service was both slow and... oblivious? We told our server our personal SRW options for each course (appetizer and entree) along with two additional craft cocktails. 15 minutes later ALL of the food arrived (see pic) - both entrees AND both appetizers. I half jokingly asked our waiter where we should start. He seemed confused. I then bluntly pointed out we just received four large courses and that there was no way we could eat them all at temperature. He said "well YOU ordered them all at once." And then he walked off! Are you kidding me? Gaff #2 five more minutes AFTER the entrees and appetizers all simultaneously arrived (i.e., 20 min after ordering), our drinks finally came. I guess it was backwards day. Gaff #3 SRW is touted as an opportunity to try restaurants at an average 20% savings vs the rest of the year (it trumpets this in the about section). Alas, The Hub's offerings, if ordered straight off of their regular everyday menu, comes to only $38-$40. But their SRW price is $45... a 20% mark UP. Good grief. That's three strikes. And negative points for not even assembling anything remotely "Sonoran." Despite decent food (while it was warm) and the always divine bourbon brittle ice cream, the evening torpedoed into a real bummer.

The Monica is a bit nicer than some of those other ones I've been to. The way ordering is done here is at the counter after you walk in through the main door, just go straight to the counter to order. Staff here were nice, no issues there. We'd heard good things about this place and have been trying to support local downtown bars this summer, so we stopped in around 11 on a Friday night before heading home. As we sat down, we watched the bartender be pretty dismissive toward another group at the bar, so we were already a little unsure. We started talking about the decor because we liked the eclectic vibe. We jokingly pointed out that one of the pictures had a joint instead of a cigarette because someone in our group hadn't noticed. One of the bartender's first comments back, completely seriously, was, "I'm from San Diego. Have you never seen art before?" Honestly... what? It was such a weird, unnecessarily condescending response. I brushed it off at first as awkward banter, but it was a really strange first impression. The drinks were decent. The Loverlist was really good, and the Unicorn Fluff and Old Fashioned were fine. The bartender was quick to talk up their whiskey selection, but when we asked for a recommendation, she mostly gave reasons why she couldn't recommend anything and just kept saying they had "over 90 different options." Without a whiskey menu to look through, that wasn't especially helpful. We also asked for a shooter and were offered half of a cocktail instead. That would've been totally fine on its own, but combined with everything else, the service just never felt welcoming. We ended up leaving pretty quickly. I'd give the place another shot because the atmosphere is fun and has a lot of potential, but hopefully with a different bartender behind the bar.

It's a fun and also elegant atmosphere with the zebra theme clearly exemplified across the space. I would have to say this is one of the coziest bars I've been to, the furniture and seating is really supportive of a long-term visit. There are other levels, lower and an upper level besides the main space, but be aware that if there are parties, they can typically take up different areas. Our bartender, Sarah was fantastic! The way that she handled all of the guests and the busy field was incredible, so calm and collected, and furthermore making some really incredible drinks. Heads up that the online drink menu is not the current drink menu, I couldn't remember all the names of our drinks and put those in the photo captions, so when I checked on the website, the menu was showing something different other than what I saw at the bar. Out of several places I've been to, I'd say the mixture of flavors and details in the drinks are quite unique. I'll be back for more one day
