    Bentley's Tofu Burrito
    Kristina K.

JoJo's has been on my friend and I's list and we finally got to try it today! We came in around 10:30 on a Friday and the place was fairly empty. The restaurant is tucked away in an alley downtown, but the inside greets you with its cozy and fresh feel. The pastries at the counter had a nice mix of regular, gluten free, and vegan options. The outdoor seating in the back is also very cute and set up so that you get plenty of shade. You order at the counter and they give you a beeper that will tell you when your food is ready at the counter. I ordered the Nachos with chicken and my friend got Bentley's Tofu Burrito and an iced Caramel Brown Sugar Latte. The food came out fast and was more plentiful than I was expecting! I could see the nachos being a great sharing item for a the table. We both went home with leftovers and were satisfied. I feel the need to come back in the morning again for a study day to try their drinks and pastries, as well in the evening to try their dinner menu. JoJo's is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a good spot downtown!

Love coming back to this amazing oasis of food, live music, and eclectic decor. When visiting with friends for a day drip from Phoenix, we stopped at Jojo's for a bite to eat. I shared the nachos with a friend and got a few tacos plus a margarita. Delicious! My friends are both gluten free and vegan, and this spot caters to exactly such. My friend's meal was slightly delayed coming out. However, the lovely waitress made everything right by not charging her for the dish. My friend was so grateful. They are beyond friendly and welcoming here, and that is a testament to such. You could easily spend hours here after eating, exploring the decor and little shops surrounding the restaurant. All the greenery is stunning! Such an alternative, hippy dippy spot. Really love visiting time and time again.

Was excited to check out Jojo's after seeing it online. We were not disappointed. Love that there is a beautiful oasis in the city. We were met but a friendly hostess and she provided us with how things work because we couldn't figure it out lol. We went to the counter ordered and they provided a buzzer. We were there for brunch and we ordered a breakfast burrito and the chicken salad. Both were delicious. Definitely check this place out if you are exploring in the area.

Best breakfast burrito ever! Be sure to include the bacon!

This place is awesome. The food was delicious and the patio was peaceful and serene on this Wednesday morning. These folks are kind and friendly. They're doing great work making this place one of Tucson's special stops for visitors and locals alike!

Walking distance from the Tucson Museum of Art. It's a nice place to stop for a meal. They offer indoor and outdoor dining. I ordered the Chicken salad and it was delicious. It has big chunks of roasted chicken, dill and the dressing tasted like it was made with pickle juice. It came with a side of focaccia bread and salad. Service was friendly. We sat near the koi pond and it was cool under the trees.

Overall, I really enjoy eating here. The last time I came here they have a new system where you get a beeper when you order your food. The beeper goes off when your food is ready. I ordered my food well before all of my friends. My friends had already finished their food and I never got my food. I had to hunt somebody down to figure out what was going on. Eventually, I was able to get some food and it was delicious but the pager either didn't work or something happened with my order. The staff was very apologetic that I never got my food.

Such a cool place, with a laid back but fun atmosphere. You absolutely feel like you're enjoying a meal and hopefully some live music in someone's beautiful backyard. Jojo has created a wonderful sense of community with live music, ambience, her staff, and the local stores/artists surrounding the courtyard. Tacos and drinks were delicious. Dont forget to order dessert in the upper bar! Basque cheesecake and chocolate scones were some of the best I've had! Don't forget to day hi to the koi and turtles! ....Jojos cat owns the place, she likes to observe from afar and may offer a boop, but no pets!

Such a lovely experience! Walked in and we were greeted by the owner, Jo, who made sure we got a seat and high chair then explained to order at the bar. Margaritas and food were stellar. After we had our entrees we decided we couldn't leave without trying the nachos and were glad we did. Gorgeous outdoor seating with live music. If we lived here we'd be back often. My second time going to JoJo's Restaurant. I live the vibe here. Jojo complem us a Crispy Brussel Sprouts appetizer. I strongly recommend them.

This is a great spot for a large group and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. I love the courtyard feel and live music. It's counter service and the food comes out quick. You get a buzzer when you order and pick it up at the window. I had the birria tacos and didn't love them, too salty and the meat was tough (removing a star for the food). I look forward to trying other items, even though it is a small menu. What stood out here was that the owner Jo and her son Eli were walking around the restaurant the entire time checking in with all of the guests. They both thanked our group multiple times for coming. I highly recommend this place.

What a unique hidden gem. Not being from Tucson, needed GPS to find it. At first approach I thought it was an on a blocked street order & pick up restaurant. But that was a pasta place. In the middle of which was an alleyway that led to Jo Jo's outdoor restaurant surrounded by half a dozen boutique shops. On top of that, the food was great. Ordered the Bacon Jam Cheddar burger with sautéed onions. Huge burger (enough to share) came out medium, as requested Limited menus, but something for everyone. Also opened to a Cantina which was where the beer came from Prices are reasonable and I think they may have live music at times. Anyway, if I lived here I'd be a regular

Cauliflower wings and spicy pineapple marg
    Berna V.

The location is really nice and it's definitely a great stop after going to the museum. However, it seemed a little pricey for not very well cooked cauliflower "wings." The drinks are also slightly costly but actually good especially the spicy pineapple margaritas. The bartender that was there and service was actually great but this is one of those places where they don't really have servers, you put all orders in and get it at the pick up window. So overall, the ambiance was nice but definitely will have to retry in terms of food and service as it wasn't the best the first few times.

Is the outdoor seating hot this time of year?

There is and it is mostly shaded, but she usually closes for the summer around July through September.

Is there any option for indoor dining for dinner?

There is a building on premise housing a bar and I recall getting some food there with my libations. Best to call them for further guidance.

I forgot which night it was now since we stayed in DT Tucson for Tour de Tucson from Thursday to Sunday. Oh, Actually I think it was a Saturday night because I remember wanting to go somewhere that had TVs that would show the Vegas F1 race. We got a table without reservation and they didn't have anything F1 on TV.. so we started just watching from our phone but then I noticed one of the main TVs above the bar started showing F1.. Now, I don't know if the servers of Elliott's were that observant and awesome or, they were already planning to show it once the race started... I choose to believe that our server was so awesome that she noticed we were watching F1 race on our tiny phone and put it on TV for us!! Honestly, just for that, 5 stars in my book. What also is a bonus is how good their food is. Sometimes you get nervous going to a local bar because food is not always good...though the people who run it and the place might be fun. However, you get all of the above at Elliott's. We ordered some mussels (cooked to perfection, not overcooked at all), pear salad, pineapple cider (delish), fish tacos, and steak. Everything was pleasantly yummy and the star was the mussels, which I did not expect to taste this fresh and delish, talking about setting low expectations and be pleasantly surprised! Overall, highly recommend. It did get darker and lots more busy and loud as we finished dinner and the Vegas F1 race finished. Def the place to bring people and friends to hang out and enjoy good food!

So many higher-end expensive restaurants serve bland, tasteless food, meanwhile this amazing mid-ranged restaurant is serving some of the best dishes I've ever had. The smashed chicken was probably the best chicken dish I have ever had at a restaurant. The skin was perfectly crispy while the meat was juicy and well-seasoned. The ginger and herb salsa verde was so fresh and aromatic. The cilantro rice complimented the lemongrass aioli perfectly. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and I'm usually one to reach for the salt shaker at most restaurants. Smoked olives are a concept I have never considered before. It's a concept that was executed perfectly here. So savory, flavorful, and complex. I'd love to have a few with a dirty martini. Speaking of drinks, my Casino gin cocktail was great. Perfect level of sweetness and tartness. I knew I had to order dessert after how good everything else was, even though I am usually not a dessert person. The oolong tea cake was nothing short of incredible. The tea flavor was subtle but paired well with the fluffy and light honey buttercream. Not too sweet at all. Of course, the service was great too. Our waiter was very attentive and personable. My first experience at 5 points made me realize that this is what restaurants should strive to be. My wife pulled out her trusty phone, where she soon was directed to the highly-rated Raptor Canyon Cafe. So off we went. A warm and sincere greeting was the first of many pleasant things that we would experience in the next 45 minutes or so. The attitude and warmth of the staff here is exceptional. One really feels appreciated and welcomed while here. (*at least, my wife and I did) The place is decorated with a cute desert-Southwest vibe. A large building-sized mural of Father Kino mounted upon his rock-pony, is framed by the cute windows that look out on the quiet downtown streets. "Comfortable, with a slight splash of a mid-1970's Tucson cafe" is the energy I felt as we dined. One of my favorite things in the place is a steel-welded hawk figurine that is perched above the stately kitchen door. I imagined him tapping gently as he sat above the busy floor. And quoth the raptor, "The quesadilla is fy-orre". (Yes, I know, "floor", and "fire" don't really rhyme.) I never said I could spit fire (street lingo for being able to rhyme well.) My wife broke-character and ordered a breakfast sandwich. She normally goes for something more exotic, but as it turns out, this choice was a hit. Sometimes, simple things can offer great pleasures-and her egg and bacon filled biscuit offered proof of this statement. I listened to the imagined whisper of the watchful hawk, and decided to follow his raptorial wisdom/advice. Soon, the bacon quesadilla was placed before me (see photo). I added a splash of the locally produced hot sauce offered with a bit of ketchup and it all came together beautifully. The textures of the grilled tortilla; the barely not too hot melted cheese, and the crispy thick slices of bacon were as close to perfection that plate of breakfast could come. It really was good-eating in the neighborhood. We both ordered the fried potatoes with peppers and onions. If you go and don't get one of these, it will be a rookie move. Do not forget to order this side...esta muy bueno! It is actually a lot of food, and my better-half and I agreed that we could have split the dish. But, as we stood to say our good-byes and thank you's, neither of our plates had any evidence that fried potatoes had recently rested upon them. They actually looked like they had just been taken from the dishwasher--spot less. All-and-all, this place quickly worked its way into my heart. It's got wonderful chow (just In case I didn't emphasize how tasty is was--it was "really-really-really" good eats). The entire Raptor Canyon's staff shared pleasant demeanors, and the place has a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. Officially, I would categorize this establishment as a, "hidden gem" of Tucson. You have my permission to go there, but please keep it, "on the down-low "so that it doesn't get too popular. (*wink)
