I don't understand why there's a cover charge just to get into a bar where you're then expected to pay extremely high prices for beer and mixed drinks. The bar itself feels a bit run-down and not very clean, and the employees didn't seem very friendly--or at least didn't appear to be enjoying their jobs. The one standout is the unique statue out front, which was procured from Magic Carpet on Speedway, a once super-cool putt-putt golf course. Unfortunately, that novelty alone isn't enough to make up for the overall experience. read more

We showed up right when they opened and were greeted by staff, but things quickly went downhill. After using the restroom and getting ready to order drinks, we were told about a "new policy" that they don't allow people with neck or face tattoos. The staff member was polite but overall the interaction felt uncomfortable--not welcoming or sincere at all. The policy itself comes off as judgmental and outdated, and not somewhere I'd want to spend money. What made it even more confusing was that someone else at the bar had a full neck tattoo (maybe he worked there??) Left feeling really judged, pretty bummed and with a bad taste in my mouth. Everyone I've talked to is tired of Dj Luke. It's been the same 12 songs every single night for a very long time, and he doesn't usually take requests. We love the atmosphere but would like some different music for once. A good Dj should be able to have better variety. It's getting very boring. read more

Between the prominent statue and live music that carries for blocks, The Hut is an unmistakable mainstay on Fourth Ave During the afternoon, it's hippie boomer central. Always a jam band, always an abundance of tie-dye shirts. At night, it definitely leans toward a college crowd, and they love the big, sugary fishbowl cocktails. I like coming here with big groups to enjoy the gigantic patio. And it's not a bad place to see college sports, either! Long time patron of this bar for various event over the years it is a staple 4th ave bar. Went most recently on a Friday night to see the live music inside. It is nice that they often have live music but also dj/dancing outside. They expanded their outdoor area quite a bit in the front. And added port-a-potty option for extra bathrooms outback.. definitely helpful. They have a good staff of security and bartenders . They are know for their various brightly colored (but lethal) fishbowls which are delicious don't get me wrong ;) I however like their "Mexican candy shot" and green tea shots. I visited The Hut for a hosted Pre-game party and really liked the tiki vibe and not to mention the huge statue head in the front. I was also impressed by how large the space was including the indoor area with stage and outdoor patio, which seems to be rather normal in AZ. Besides the ambiance, the drinks were ok (got a few beers and a vodka mule) in which they used well alcohol. But I guess I should've expected it since it is a college area. Additionally I was surprised at the prices, very affordable for about $5-6 each, something I haven't seen in a while. read more

I really like this place. Fun atmosphere, great drinks, people who work there are nice. My one and only complaint, I was there for Halloween (sat before the actual day) and the DJ was not great, to put it kindly. Maybe I'm spoiled from working in nightclubs and being friends with DJs for half my life, but never in my life have I seen: 1. A DJ play an entire song from beginning to end 2. A DJ play two songs from the same artist back to back 3. A DJ who fails to include current music 4. My friend graduated tonight, and we were ecstatic to go celebrate with her after driving in from Oklahoma. Little did we know we'd be waiting in line for 2 hours, as nonstop people cut in front of us. We decided to call it night with only an hour and a half before last call. It is absolutely outrageous that there is no organization whatsoever for the cue, it seemed half of Tucson just walked in and funneled right at the entrance as we waited in the line that wrapped around the block. Despite waiting over an hour, no staff helped organize the crowd, which was very frustrating and disappointing. This mini golf tiki that was turned into a whole lounge based on its theme is divey and cute! There were live performers in the afternoon on the weekend and people dancing in one area. They also had large board games like connect 4 for groups of friends gathering on the patio with plenty of shade. They have a menu full of tasty options with something for everyone. At the entrance i showed my military id because it was the first ID I saw. I never show my military ID but as I stated, it was the first ID I saw. The bouncer laughed and turned it to show the other bouncer I was military and say " Go jump in a bullet or something bro". I completely ignored and went about my day because it was complete ignorance. I've been here before and it was a good experience. The place isn't bad but their bouncers should be put in check. I visited The Hut for the first time this weekend and had a great time. There is a cover at the door (at least on Saturday nights) but it is waived for people with student ids and military ids which is super nice. They serve the infamous fish bowls so of course I had to try it and was impressed by the amount of drink for the price. I'm not sure which one I ordered but it is included in my pictures. The Hut has a kind of dive bar feel but I really like how while they did have a couple dance floors, one inside and one outside, there were still areas to sit and talk if you so chose. They also had several games like shuffle board which I didn't get to play but looked like a good time. I will definitely be back. read more

This place was hopping on a Thursday probably more so due to the college crowd but I was there with club Waka which they are a sponsor of...kickball. I was blown to discover they didn't serve food as I was starving upon arrival but they do allow you to bring in food from other places. So myself and some other players went and got tacos. I didn't partake in the drink specials but I hear they're great. I just had a Ginger Ale and wasn't charged but I left a tip because I appreciate the hospitality. If you want to participate in karoke, I'd say get your name on the list early as it gets later more and more ppl are trying to participate. Good bar if you like that type of scene. There is a patio area with a DJ and a bar and inside is the karaoke and another bar as well as the restrooms and seating. read more

Every single time he has gone he has come home to vent about how poorly the staff has treated him and others around him that night. He had to *warn me* about it before we got there. Sure enough, bartenders gave us so much attitude. Bf complimented one of them as he was making our drinks and he rolled his eyes and ignored us. We also had one very drunk middle aged man come up to both of us, asked me a series of creepy questions and insulted my bf right in front of both of us. Security didn't seem to care and it was very obvious he was bothering us. Aside from that, in all honesty, this place could be so much better if the bartenders were in a better mood. Last stop on my night out on the town and I'm glad it was! Great customer service from the bartender. Outside has a ball pit for a lack of better terms. Horseshoes but with sandbags instead. Cool way to pass time with your drunk buddies. As you enter, you see a gigantic figure that looks insanely awesome. Very island-ey vibe and I LOVE IT. Feels like you're in Hawaii and not in Tucson. From what I saw, the drinks are huge, nicely priced, and are mixed strong. 10/10 will be back! read more

I really enjoy this place, kind of reminds me of my bar back home. I love being able to chill outside in a chill environment... or be inside if you want to bar vibe. Fish bowl is a must. Don't go here. It's discriminatory and sexist. Four of us came for my sister in law's bachelorette. The DJ brought her up on stage to dance -- several girls were already up there, and she wouldn't have thought to get up there otherwise but was excited after seeing other girls up there! But once she got up there a security guard named Ricky made her get off and ASKED HER TO LEAVE the club. I'd understand him making her get off the stage, but kicking us out was truly insane behavior from somebody who seemed power hungry, angry, and problematic -- when she asked why she wasn't allowed on stage he refused to give a reason, which made her believe it was because she was not attractive enough. What a horrible feeling. This bar ruined her bachelorette night which should've only made her feel special and beautiful. It's a bummer because she was exited to go here after seeing it on TikTok. We have a video of the whole incident but Yelp won't let me upload the video so here are the pictures we have instead. She's being asked to leave stage despite others up there allowed to stay. read more
