Great time at the lounge for karaoke Thursdays. The drinks were delicious as always. However the menu has changed DRASTICALLY FOR THE WORST. Everything is made differently with less flavor and finesse. The lettuce wraps used to be standout now they're dry and under seasoned. It's also presented differently which made for an awkward dining experience. I remember being blown away by the katsu chicken sandwhich the first time. This time it was gross. It was not fried like katsu but more so like a battered chicken breast. It always was not pounded flat into a uniform piece of meat but was more so a badly butchered breast that fell apart when you ate it. It was dry, under seasoned, fried way too hard and was stringy. We had a group meeting at this place. My biggest negative was not being able to hear as well as we would have liked. In part that was due to the pleasant music playing. Music which added to the lovely saloon ambiance. Now, I have to say something about the waitress who took care of our group. Great personality, non-intrusive but attentive, great memory, and helpful. What more can you ask for? I can't say too much about the food, since I only tried one item, the bacon wrapped dates with goat cheese. WOW! YUMMY! From the look of what others were having and their gusto in eating, I am guessing their food was equally good. Oh, and they have some cool activities in the evenings, such as trivia, all you can eat spaghetti, and live music. Overall, this is the kind of place that makes me love Arizona. read more

This was our first time at the Jackrabbit Lounge, and when one walks in it seemed like going back in time to at least the 1970s which is cool and makes the experience different in Tucson. It is dark inside and usually I do not like going into establishments that do not have windows. At 530 pm on a Saturday night, the bar was half full and there were a few tables with people as the band was setting up for later in the evening. We ordered drinks and some appetizers. Perhaps our waitress was just having an off day, but there were a few errors. I specifically asked for our appetizers to come out prior to our main courses as I like to enjoy the small plates before the main course. I want to sit down, taste the food, enjoy a beverage and the experience, and not feel rushed. The main courses came out almost as soon as the appetizers, and the tables are small (there was just my wife and I), and it felt cramped when everything came out. The appetizers were quite good and were the highlight of the meal. The Devils on Horseback (Bacon Wrapped Dates stuffed with Herbed Goat Cheese) were flavorful, but would have been better baked then deep-fried. The Spicy Korean Style Meat Balls (House made Garlic Ginger Meatballs served with Baby Bok Choy and a Spicy Korean Glaze) were excellent! I had the Sonoran Perfect Manhattan. While the drink was ok, I think using the word "perfect" is more of an aspiration. The Kara-Age Chicken Sandwich (Japanese-style Fried Chicken sandwich with our Asian Slaw, on a soft Brioche Bun. Also available "HOT" style with Sriracha) could have been better. I asked our waitress some questions about the food and then pointed out this is not what was described in the menu for example it was supposed to come with Cajun fries, and these were just plain fries. She explained that they were down a cook. I was going to have another drink, but we just decided to leave. Perhaps they just had an off night; it happens. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to get a beer. And I was shocked that $8 for a pint. Seeing how a keg will have approx 124 pints. That's almost $1000 in sales per keg. The average current wholesale is approx $200. I understand they need to make a profit but this type a charging is ridiculous. The first night didn't have karaoke, but what it did have was friendly genuine people who are having a good time and striking up great conversations. We befriended the bartender, who let us know foods and drinks to try out and it was a pleasant experience. She informed us about karaoke happening on Thursdays soooooo we came back on Thursday, met a new troop of people; from different walks of life, all enjoying belting their favorite songs to their hearts content. It was a blast and a great place to stop at whether passing through or looking for a good drink among great people. read more

I lived in Tucson for 8 years and only recently found out about The Jackrabbit Lounge. It's situated on Oracle Rd., so a bit out of the way of other Tucson nightlife, though don't let that deter you from checking it out! I went in on a Saturday night around 10pm with three others and it was pretty quiet. It's very spacious on the inside so we had no trouble finding a table for the four of us. Their drink menu is expansive, they have something for every taste, and mocktails too. The drinks are beautifully and creatively made, I witnessed the bartender torching a cinnamon stick for one of our drinks, The Saintly Sarsaparilla. They serve food late into the night as well, and although we didn't order any, I've been told their bacon wrapped dates are to die for. Overall the vibes were great and I'd definitely come back again for a night out. read more

Came here on Christmas Eve for drinks with the fam around 6pm. I was told this place had an eclectic vibe and good drinks, and i was not disappointed. They are open until 2 am and they had music playing nonstop for a good time. We had beers and cocktails and the cocktails were delicious. The Bartender was very nice and helpful with the menu and recommendations. We had the lemon parmesan wings, Brussel sprouts, bacon wrapped dates and fries. I had 2 delicious drinks, one the "Miami vice" and another the bartender made when I asked her to surprise me and both delicious. They have different events on different nights. On July 5th my friend and I chose to celebrate my pre 65 birthday here. We ordered nibbles and cocktail. Which everything we ordered was impressive. We had been here two other times and the food was astounding as the first time. Cocktails menu ,has so much to choose from ,that are original to the Jack Rabbit Lounge. I went here with a group on a Thursday evening and was pleasantly surprised with this hidden gem. It seemed like a fun place, but was very quiet at 5:30, which I didn't mind.. more room for us! As time went on however, more tables arrived, keeping the server/bartender busy! The service was good and I love that happy hour is til 7:30, giving you some time to get off work. It also seems like they do a lot of fun things throughout the week like live music, karaoke, and I saw a 80s prom nite advertised! I was living the oldies being played. They also have a separate area with pool tables! My Monte cristo sandwich. It was huge and yummy! The Asian salad however is a no go. I definitely should have added meat.. it was just missing something and not fulfilling. The description looked good but I would not order it again. I went here last week on Monday night and was surprised to find a DJ playing to the few customers in the bar. They have a couple pool tables in the back room and a couple raised mini dance platforms. I started with the Velvet Rabbit cocktail but it was too sweet for me. I asked and the bartender said all the other drinks on their list are sweet so I ended up getting a dirty martini which was just ok and then a hard seltzer later. The lettuce wrap appetizer was really good. The fried chicken in the sandwich was really plain. I didn't like the sandwich. The mac and cheese side I got was really good. My friends and I tried this place on a Saturday night. We had beers, various martinis and a Harvey Creamsicle. All of the drinks were great. The bartender was amazing and managed to take our orders, bring us our drinks, take our food order and run the bar all at once until more staff came in later. We had Mac n cheese, Korean meatballs, fried mushrooms, coconut shrimp, and the hummus plate. Everything tasted great! Many tables and chairs! Bar seats about 8-10. Separate room with a couple of pool tables. A stage area which I just missed a Blues Band. Nice cocktail menu and food selection! Been here twice now, 1st time for HH with a group of ladies and again last Wednesday with some out-of-town friends. Ordered the infamous Jack Rabbit cocktail and made my friend get one, too. I thought that they only had appetizers on their menu and we didn't want to eat big. They and the hub all ordered sandwiches. I ordered the hot wings which were great plus the parmesan fries. Their fries are these curly wedge things which if you get the end of the potato you get a super crispy fry. Not really a fan of the curry-infused ketchup so was sparing with my dip. The bartender/server was really friendly and funny. Love the ambiance and for a dive bar, it doesn't smell like 70 years ago. On my first visit there was a band playing very apropo music. Nice local place to have a quite drink. The music playing was at a level you could hear it yet still listen to others at your table. As we first entered we were warmly greeted by the manager and bar maid. The manager explained the wait staff had gone home (it was about 10-10:30 pm when we arrived) but the kitchen was still open, just place our order for both food and drinks at the bar. I went to this restaurant for happy hour (4p-7p) with a group of about 10 on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was only our table until about 6:30/7p. With that being said, there's always plenty of parking. The lounge gives abandoned old school strip club vibes but I appreciate the standout ambiance. They have karaoke on Thursday nights which I would consider going back for. I ordered Ask Alice per the server's recommendation and really liked how light it was yet I could still taste the gin. I ordered the sweet and spicy Brussel sprouts which had bacon so they were delicious. I was indifferent to the garlic parmesan chicken wings I also ordered. The Jackrabbit Lounge has such a cool vibe. From the minute we walked in I immediately enjoyed the music they had playing, it was the perfect background for good conversation over drinks. Later in the night they had a live band playing cocktail music with a mid century feel, perfect for dinner and dessert. Neon signs, comfortable leather chairs, pool tables, and some fun photobooth areas. Dropped by for "Hoppy Hour" and the deals were great! $2 Off Small Plates (which they have quite a few of) and a bunch of drink specials. They only had one bartender working for happy hour, so they were super busy but let us know that from the start which I really appreciated. Things just took a while because it seemed like they were a bit short staffed, but we weren't in a rush so we didn't mind. Tried the Herbed Goat Cheese Garlic and Toast which was fantastic, super tasty Parmesan Herb Fries with Curry Ketchup, and Polynesian Chicken Skewers. Food was quite good, though I wish the chicken had some extra sauce or a bit more flavor. Wrapped up with the churros which were filled with a sweet sauce and definitely were the star of the show. Bartender Sarah (female with Betty Page haircut) & server/manager (red-beard & bald) refused to serve two native American customers (my husband & his sister) after a different bartender served 2 drinks each. They told them they were cutting them off at 2 and brought them water. When my husband (the male customer) asked if he could smoke on patio, hostess said yes with a smile but before my husband could even light his cigarette outside, the man with with the red-beard came barreling out & started accusing my husband of smoking weed. 2 patrons out on the patio tried helping & told the red-beard he wasn't but the guy grabbed my husband's cigarette & then told him he had to leave despite him verifying it was a Marlboro cigarette. They left peacefully but we're very aware of them being the only POC who weren't not accompanied by several white people. I was also told by my black niece who went on a date with her South American boyfriend that they were ignored so much so that they just left, which I believe was the point. This is a bar that has both passive aggressive & straight in your face racism. I noticed that the majority of positive reviews are by white customers. If you are anything darker than khaki colored, I would avoid this bar like the plague. Having a couple of non- racist & professional staff doesn't excuse the rest of the staff and atmosphere. Crashed a holiday party at The Jackrabbit Lounge, and loved the 70's vibe, with lots of seating areas, pool tables, go go dancers, and even an outdoor patio. They have a large drink menu, full of many creative and delicious craft drinks and several yummy food options as well. We had an amazing server, who despite being very busy was very helpful and made several great recommendations. I ordered the jackrabbit, which was light and refreshing and came with a cute rabbit. I also had a drink they made for the event, which was Mrs. Clause cookie milk...It had a perfect balance of spice and sweet...honestly one of the best holiday drinks I've ever had. They had a DJ spinning cool 70's songs, with elf go go dancers giving a very studio 54 vibe. There was a mixed crowd and everyone was very friendly. The drinks and food are very reasonably priced. Looks like a dive bar on the outside. Looks like a gentleman's club on the inside. But more than anything, it's one of Tucson's most underrated cocktail hotspots. What I loved--the draft cocktail menu. If you've got a sweet tooth, you *must* try the date shake. Boozy and filled with soft-serve ice cream, this here is the official adult beverage of my summer. Are you wanting something more traditional? Go for the daiquiri. Their bartenders are skilled enough to have mastered the two or three dozen other concoctions on the menu, with every spirit pretty much equally represented. What I really liked--The aesthetics have a lot of thought put into them, and it really shines when they host special events like disco night. There were gogo dancers sliding on poles (yes, there are poles in the lobby--this had to be a titty bar in a past life), there were drag performers, and there were people dancing. It's fun, and when you want to take a break from the crowd, you can go to the "selfie room", a hallway with cute backgrounds and ring lights. This is the sort of place that can feel intimate enough for a great date, but lit enough for you to bring a group and hang out all night. People might think that downtown is the only spot for nightlife in Tucson, but sometimes you can find some real hidden gems when you venture into the suburbs. read more

This place is a goddamn treasure. A diamond in the rough. One of a kind...all that shit. It's hard to say just what makes this place so special. We'll start with the cocktails and food-they don't make anything that isn't great. Period. The drinks are well crafted and tasty and strong. The food is elevated bar food that has an interest in diverse, multi-cultural cuisine. Meat eaters will be happy here, vegetarians will be happy here. It a well-written menu that does not disappoint in quality no matter what you choose. The vibe is just so...fucking...cool. It's a hipsters paradise but far more self aware of itself. A celebration of dive bar culture while feeling like a place you can take your grandma to. This is our new favorite bar whether we want to watch a game, enjoy some live music, or kick ass at trivia.
