You can tell the people running this place don't care about their product. The 14 inch pepperoni was extremely undercooked and bland. Chewy yellow dough and cheese that when let sit for 15 minutes completely pulled off of any slice you tried to grab due to it being caked up. The hot wings were large but overcooked and also bland. The ranch tastes like a store bought bottle of ranch. I genuinely would eat any major pizza chain over this place. I've never written a review in my life but this needed to be done. read more

We dropped in on sunday afternoon, 14 of us. They were most accommodating. Although we said we would do counter service the young man working insisted on providing table service. He was thoughtful and although I think we overwhelmed him a bit, he insisted that he was fine. Pizza was very good and average price for mom and pop in Tucson. Ingredients were fresh and pizzas were piping hot. The salads were delicious and everything was fresh. It was a cute little spot with soft drinks, cocktails, several beers were available and wine. They even carry Mexican coke products. The young man let us know that they are now doing breakfast. The breakfast menu includes polenta and tirimisu French toast. We will need to try it. Piezanos has some interesting food. It's really delicious, just different. The pizza has a sourdough type crust which is full of flavor. The wings were delicious as well. In lieu of writing a bad review, I was going to email management, then I saw that our feedback is nothing new, so figured we'd add here. For context, we were there when all the tables were full, but no one was waiting and only one person at bar - it was a pretty chill atmosphere. 4 kids, 3 adults. Ordered bleu cheese with a salad. Put it on before tasting - it had turned. Waiter put his own finger in the container when taking it away and came back with it exactly the same and said that was the way theirs tastes. Didn't offer a new salad with different dressing, didn't offer to refund it and we sent it back. Brought out our pizza, no plates, no silverware, so three of us ended up eating it on napkins bc by this time, we realized that customer service wasn't not really high on the list here. Maybe their bleu cheese does normally taste like it has turned. My advice, if you insist on patronizing, don't put the dressing on without tasting it and be prepared to take care of yourself. I think another reviewer said something like "nonchalant about order mistakes" and one said "wouldn't offer a refund when out of something". Yup. read more

I literally live right by this restaurant and have been there a few times. Overall I find the pizza to be good. Not the best and not the worst. Just average. However, the other types of dishes I've gotten from there were awesome. They have meatballs that taste like authentic Italian. Like my family used to make. The sauce is great. Their appetizers are all good. My favorite thing has been their meatball sub. They make a decent drink too. The only issue I have ever had is how long it takes them to complete an order. It doesn't matter what I order. It takes them at least an hour to make the food if not longer. When you order online it estimates 45 min or so. They will update your pickup time to an hour or so. Then you might still end up waiting 10-15 min on top of that. This is such a nice local place with friendly people and good food so I still highly recommend it overall. If they could streamline their process a bit they'd definitely get 5 stars from me. read more

I'm not usually one to complain about pizza. Honestly most pizza tastes pretty good to me, but I knew for sure that this pizza was not good pizza. It was just weird. Supposed to be New York style. Thinner crust that tasted like cardboard. Tasteless sauce. Needed more sauce too oddly enough. Bland cheese. You can tell they use a not very good mozzarella since it wasn't well salted. Service was fine. The food just leaves a lot to be desired. Also the specialty pizzas were crazy expensive. I just ordered togo food and these are the wings I received, burnt. The spaghetti I received is good though. Did anyone validate the food before it went out? Togo food is just as important as in house dining. I ate one wing and it had no flavor, I was very excited about the wings especially because they are brined. This is disappointing. The fact they ask $20 for a pepperoni pizza is an insult to begin with given it has the exact same flavor, crust, and texture of an $8-$10 store bought frozen "gourmet" pizza brand. The service is beyond unprofessional: I was the only one who initially walked in during the evening on the 1st of January 2024, but when others entered it was the same; none of the workers say "hello" or welcome you in asking "how are you / how was your new years?" I had to ask where to order, was not sure where to pay, and as I expect this from a younger generation of staff, even the 40 or 50 some year old man working there didn't respond or acknowledge me when I said hello to him. So 3 workers and it's the most dead feeling and not a good atmosphere. Ironically, I had more of a conversation with the elderly woman there; she came in after myself and I believe she was an affiliate of sorts bringing in display goods for the restaurant. I will agree with the other low reviews on yelp regarding this establishment's poor service. There were only one or two pick up orders to my recollection as well so they were not busy. I waited almost 40 minutes for just a large one topping pizza. It was if they procrastinated to prep it because it wasn't in the oven for more than 10-15 minutes. If the owner is going to respond with, "sorry for your experience." and "thanks for your feedback, this helps us improve." or something generic like that, know they aren't going to hire a better staff or create a better product. It's clearly evident given their feedback history. Go to Dominick's, Sgt. Pepperoni's, Upper Crust, or anywhere else in Tucson where they actually value their customers and make quality pizza. read more

I wish I could do half stars, I would be giving piezanos 3 1/2 stars. The Caesar salad was phenomenal! I was a little disappointed when I first opened the box and saw the dressing wasn't in the side- something I figured was standard on to-go orders. After my first bite, I no longer cared because we were going to eat the whole (very big portion) of salad! It was so tasty. Even the chicken that didn't appear to be anything special was incredibly flavorful. You could tell the croutons were made in house too. The sauce on the wings were also super good! My only issue with the wings was they gave us a lot of very very tiny wings. Our order of 8 turned into 10 because I think they were trying to make up for the tiny ones but I would've preferred to be shorted then eat the weird meat from the tiny ones. The normal sized wings were so good though! The pizza however, was very disappointing. I wanted to like it since I really liked the salad and wings, but as someone who really enjoys pizza, this one did not hit the mark. The sauce was bland and sweet, which made the whole pizza have very little flavor. Not even the toppings could save it. Despite not enjoying the pizza, I will definitely return for wings and salad. Since this is a pizza place it has to live or die on its crust. In this case I'd have to say a 3. A bit undercooked for my taste, which returns to Italy when sampling eggplant or pizza. The toppings were decent if decidedly American. The only caveat was the paucity of artichokes. Hey, when a customer is willing to pay extra for a topping, put it on the pie. The Caesar salad was quite good if overdressed and there were anchovies available, and no stinting with them. The croutons lacked garlic but were appropriately crispy and sized. The ambiance is pleasant even if this little strip of stores is a bit off-putting. A solid 3 and if your taste in pizza is American I bet you'll like this place even more. read more

Armed with a Groupon, my 9-year-old sidekick and I picked up pizza here enroute to the Tucson Hop Shop. We got the spinach salad and a pizza with half cheese and half spinach and anchovies (don't judge). The salad: deeeelish! fresh ingredients, a tasty tangy balsamic dressing on the side, and just the right portion for us to share along with the pie. The pizza: Solid! Fresh crust, crisp but not greasy, and enough fresh tomato sauce without being overwhelming. Everything was just right - hot, fresh, and delicious. It didn't completely knock me out of my chair, but beats the heck out of chain pizza and I will gladly order from Piezano's again. Next time, we plan to dine in: they have a limited but high-quality selection of craft beers, and my sidekick noticed the hip yet unpretentious decor and mellow atmosphere, with "just loud enough" music. Located next to the Winterhaven Festival of Lights, PieZano's is a perfect spot to have dinner before enjoying the festival. They do charge $5 for parking during the festival, but you really can't find parking that is more convenient. Eat a pizza and then wander over to the neighborhood for the lights. But it's not just about parking. The food at PieZano's is good as well, especially the pizza crust! The menu includes a pretty good deal for families (two 14" pizzas & two salads for under $30). Service wasn't great on this night. Understandable, I suppose, since the restaurant was being slammed by festival traffic. We ordered one specialty pizza and one single topping pizza. Both were delicious. Unfortunately, one pizza arrived quickly, but there was a ten minute plus wait before the second was served. A major problem since the young kids in our group were the ones waiting for the second pizza. No explanation given. Oh well. The pizza was eventually loved by all. In summary, PieZano's is a cozy little spot with great pizza and a great location. We definitely plan to return. read more

So I ordered from this place 3 time. The first 2 times just amazing. The calzones were to die for and makes you want to just keep eating more. There antipasta is just as good. But when I saw it I couldn't understand why it was called antipasta. Lol they last time I ordered my calzone from here it tasted weird. We called and come to find out they changes the ricotta vendor. Hmm not a good move it tasted like the ricotta went south of the boarder. When she check the dates for us on that cheese she said everything was upto date so. I woke up the next day with belly pain. I used to love this place and it's my go to, but recently I've noticed it's been very inconsistent. The owner used to ALWAYS Be there, but the last few times I've been in, I haven't seen him. With that said, that could be the problem. At the price point ( not cheap) I'm inclined to try somewhere new after the last 3 pizzas have been less than stellar. Came here for Winterhaven, which we do every year. We alway order in advance and eat in the parking lot - awesome family tradition! This year, we placed an order online, 24 hours in advance. My husband went in to retrieve our order at the time it was promised, and it was not available. Not even available, but they had not even started it. The manager blamed all his "teenage workers" on misplacing the order and communicated that in the "business" of the season (hello, you know this, figure your ish out) that they didn't pay attention to online orders. My father also placed an order 24 hours in advance and his order was made the DAY of placing the order, thus resulting in the manager communicating that they had made the order "the day before" (again, not my father's fault). Both of our orders, even though placed online for readiness and efficiency, were a waste of time. We had to wait another 30 minutes at the restaurant for food to be made and when it was made, it was made incorrectly. Horrible experience for what used to be a great place. Very sad to see. Get your crap together and don't blame it on your employees. Taking ownership would have made this a 2 start review. Best of luck. read more
