The workers were kind helpful and courteous! They have THE best onion rings! Dinning was cozy and peaceful. Keep up the great work!

I pass these locations all the time but finally decided to stop and try one . Got a 2 piece and the chicken was hot and fresh. I plan to come back and try some other things read more

Nice front counter service. The restaurant was clean. No indoor tables. There's a couple of outside metal picnic tables. The fried chicken is delicious. It's moist and crispy and the garlic bread is the best. Lots of butter and garlic and it's toasted. The French fries are crispy. You have to get the Lucky Wishbone sauce. You can purchase it separately for .60 cents. They have been around for so long because the chicken is so good. read more

Lucky Wishbone - 14 piece special for $20. - Southern Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Smelled of grease when I walked in. Should have turned around and walked out. Ordered the 8 piece combo with steakfingers, shrimp, chicken and fries. Shrimp, fries and special sauce were good. Steak and chicken were such poor quality I couldn't eat them and gave to my dog. Kuddos to the two hardworking and friendly ladies working there. read more

We went here, because this place was nostalgic for my friend who went to the University of Arizona. We shared the four-piece steak fingers junior dinner. The fries were delicious (crispy and fresh), but the steak fingers were tough and tasted like they may not contain any cow (if you know what I mean...). The inside of the restaurant is nothing special, with just a few simple seating options. The service was the best part, with friendly college students taking orders behind the counter. Random favorite: their nugget ice and water was world class! read more

I haven't eaten Lucky wishbone in years and I am so glad I decided to stop for a quick lunch. I got their shrimp combo that comes with shrimp toast, french fries and they're amazing cocktail sauce. I think I could just go and purchase the cocktail sauce. I love it. I did my french fries in it as well as my shrimp. The food is made to order so it's always hot fresh and delicious. They also have really good fried chicken and steak fingers too everything from a simple, quick junior meal all the way to family bundles. They also cater. read more

Everyone was friendly and the service was semi fast. The place was clean and the bathrooms were sparkling, it had the legit 1950s feel. The fries were the best fries ever being perfectly crispy and had a good taste. However, the chicken was not good and it was coated in a batter that was thick and sometimes you get a mouthful of non cooked batter. It had a bad aftertaste and was overcooked. It was way overpriced, $50 to feed 3 people. Not sure if it was them but we did find a couple of hairs in the food. read more

Harrison Rd. First visit after giving up on finding decent fried chicken in Tucson - despite reviews about a Korean place. Much better than outposts we tried of the two big national chains and seemingly the only place on the far east side of town. Feels very non-corporate inside, like a neighborhood place. Staff friendly, helpful. Great deal on dark meat - thighs and legs. Fried as you wait, not off a warming table. Very good crispy coating, still had some crisp the following day on room temp chicken. Fries good. Livers pretty good but not as good as livers prepared with a reduction of aged balsamic. Gizzards just not my thing, keep them for soup. We'll be back. read more

Decided to stop by with my buddy when the big sign caught our eye. Fun spot with solid food. You're getting what you ask for. Chicken. Standard chicken. However the fries took the show with this one being the perfect amount of crisp. On the downside, their "signature sauce" is literally cocktail sauce, shitty cocktail sauce. Overall was satisfied but definitely wasn't impressed. read more

Much better than kfc, their $20 deal was enough for 2 meals for us. Crispy, flavorful and let us wanting more.

I usually go to the Lucky by my side of town but I was near by and stopped by. A guy with glasses helped me and he was great. Awesome attitude and the burger he made me was amazing! I always get the same thing but this time the burger looked like a commercial burger no joke! Anyways, just wanted to shoutout a great employee and a great burger. read more

Sadly, yesterday was so disappointing, not so much the food as the service. They had missed my coleslaw, which can happen. However, when I called instead of offering a refund, the young man told me to return. Not likely given the distance. Then he said he could give me a store credit against a future visit. Again, not very acceptable. Also, instead of swapping out sauces, he had charged me extra for two. To be fair, however, today the manager called me to apologize and gave me a full refund (except the two sauces, which had been rung up separately). As for the food, yeah, I do like LW and will return. read more

I don't know what you guys did to your gizzards but they taste horrible the one on Old Nogales Highway and I went to the one on Campbell and Grant and the gizzards taste either gave me or like burnt plastic they are not the same you guys need to stop changing things around cuz you're going to lose a lot of customers they were disgusting I usually order mine well done so I don't taste so much of the gizzard but it was horrible go back to the original gizzards I'm going to have to find another place to get my gizzards well done totally disappointed read more

I started going to this location the past few weeks. This is my 3rd time so I decided to leave a review. Each time I come here the food is always so fresh and delicious. I get the same thing every time. I just want to say thank you to the young men working here. Israel and Jax I hope I have their names, right. You young men are amazing. Keep it up. You'll be seeing me more. read more

I hold Lucky Wishbone close to my heart; My mother and step father use to go to Tucson and would bring home Steak-fingers, french fries, garlic bread and cole slaw. The dipping sauce is very vivid and stuck in my mind for over 40 years. We live in Phoenix and don't get to Tucson often. This past week we flew out of Tucson and came home on the Amtrak. We ate lunch at Lucky Wishbone then brought home a huge order to have for dinner that night. It was everything i remembered it to be and more. The heat up worked out perfect at 250 degrees for 20 min then added the toast just to warm it up and crispy. Last weekend my husband had a show and stayed the night and brought home more Steak-fingers. Thank you for still being open and never changing your recipe read more

They used to have really good fries not they have some fries that are so gross I can't even enjoy the chicken. I think they were sold to new ownership and they are changing everything. It's not the same as I remember just a few years ago. read more

I ordered the 5 piece chicken wing meal to go. There's a single table inside so "to go" was the only option. The wait was not very long, meal come in a box no napkins and no sauce which I think including something that simple would elevate customer satisfaction. The fries was fresh off the fryer and toast with butter was delicious; the chicken wings not so much. The breading was bland; I detected no spices at all. The breading was also clumps. Overall this is NOT a place to get wings or dine in. read more

NEGATIVE 1 star review they refused to compensate me having to go back to the store after they messed up my order they said if I kept the food they gave me they could charge me less on the shrimp i not only wasted my time and money on this place the GM is a child and refused to give me the owners number DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE read more

It was okay but I am not returning. Got the 'Mom' size fish deal. I know inflation is rough these days but I was really underwhelmed by two skinny fish filets along with fried and toast for almost $10. (I don't get what the additional starch of toast contributes to the meal?). No ketchup or condiments were visible near the counter or offered. On top of everything else, the two employees working there were completely serious and quiet. The meal tasted alright but I left with remorse that I didn't spend my money somewhere else. read more

Very greasy just tasted like old grease no flavor . We tried the steak , shrimp , chicken and onion rings . Do not recommend.

Ah Lucky Wishbone, the food is old school good! It's greasy, it's unhealthy and it knows it! They're chicken breasts are out of this world succulent! They're as good cold as they are when they're fresh out of the friar! What's more their steak fingers taste like the finger of God! In other words they're divine! Their french fries are pretty stale but they reheat well because they're so greasy to start. The onion rings are too crunchy for me but a dip in the red sauce softens them up nicely! The only thing I'd warn you about, other than the fact that you cholesterol will go up eating there is that every time I get a meal there I end up with explosive diarrhea afterwards! Please note, it's not the restaurants fault. I have irritable bowel syndrome and the heavy grease in the food sets off a huge case of the green apple splatters! Again, not blaming the restaurant, I don't want them to make the good more healthy and less greasy, I'm just letting people with problematic stomachs understand the risks of eating there. Obviously it was worth it to me to spend the evening on the can and I'm going to eat leftovers tomorrow! read more

ordered a burger and onion rings yesterday and asked for only mustard on one bun. when i got home to eat my food, the burger was covered in tons of mustard and the bite of the onion ring i took tasted like fish. when i went back to the store for a refund, the man informed me that they fry everything in the same oil. onion rings, french fries, fish, chicken, steak fingers, etc. in the same oil. that is so disgusting. i will NEVER be back to this nasty establishment read more

Best fried chicken in Southern Arizona!! I stopped by today for lunch. The store was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. The chicken was fresh and delicious! Perfectly golden fried with very light coating, not greasy. I had a fried wings meal, it came with fries and their signature Texas toast. Oh, the fries were the best l have had in years. This place is a screaming deal, excellent prices. No other chicken place compares. Thank you Lucky Wishbone! Now l know l have to drive to Tucson to get real fried chicken. read more

Haddock was very disappointing. Very small portions for a big price. Don't bother. Also tried to set an alternate time for my pick-up and it didn't work. So my order sat there for several hours before I picked it up. When I complained they told me to talk to manager. Manager wasn't there. Said manager would call me. That never happened. And then they forgot to give me the onion rings I ordered. Total clown show. Won't bother with them again. read more

Lucky Wishbone is such a sleeper hit. I lived in Tucson for 5 years and never visited it, because let's be honest, it looks questionable at best from the outside. True of all locations. But boy, was I wrong. But on a recent jaunt down to the Dirty T, my life was changed. The fella decided to try going vegan for a bit, and like the supportive gal I am, I said "Oh, okay. I'm gonna go get fried chicken." We took a quick drive over the the ole EllDubs, where I ordered the Mom Fried Chicken Box to go. It came with a hefty amount of fries, a slice of garlic toast, and three pieces of fried chicken--two dark meat, one white. The fries were excellent. So much better than I expected them to be, and to be frank, I'm a french fry snob. I consume them frequently and I know what I like; these, I adored. They were perfectly crisp, but still potatoey. Extra surprising that they stayed fresh and crispy on the fifteen-ish minute drive before I could dig in. The garlic toast, I could take or leave, which surprised me because I normally go bananas for garlic bread. But it definitely wasn't bad. The fried chicken... oooooh, Mama! The breading was spiced so perfectly, flavorful with every bite, but not overly salted. The meat was juicy, scrumptious and mouth-melty like fried chicken should be; other places often over-fry and ya end up with a dry as hell drumstick, aka one of the greatest sins man can commit (probably). Also, of my three piece meal, the two dark meat pieces were very reasonably sized, pretty much exactly what I expected from them. The white meat bb, holy mammajamma. It was basically a whole quarter chicken, and you can bet your bottom dollar that I inhaled every single centimeter of chicken offa dat carcass. The fella looked on, eating his vegan meal, in horror and respect. S'why we work. Don't be like me, friends. Don't be snobby. Don't wait. Just go to Lucky Wishbone, and prepare yourself for a goddamn bangin' meal. read more

Walking in all you smell is grease. What else would you expect for this kind of place? Lol. Hadn't had lucky wishbone since I was a kid at least 20 years ago. Steak strips were good and is real steak. Wing combo was good. Everything was piping hot and crispy. Surprisingly not greasy at all. Service was great. Something we can't eat every day but was a good treat. read more

Lucky Wishbone - Steak strips and wing combo. - Southern Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Today was the day I was like "fuck it, I want Lucky Wishbone!" I come by at least once or twice a year. Little history here: This place was Tucson's first fast food restaurant- and that's way before McDonalds. Yep. This place is so iconic and has so much character since the 1960s: The menu's order sizes, "Mom, Pop, and JR's; the order numbers on poker chips; the 1960s green mint-colored veneer tiles on the walls. Unbelievably amazing greasy food. It's the crispy greasy kind- not the soggy greasy. Fries are soft but crunchy. Steak fingers dipped in its special sauce- the taste will linger in your mouth for a long while before wanting to go back! Oh and try those fried shrimp too! They're fresh as they can be. This is a nostalgic place for those who have moved away from Tucson. For new locals, stop by! Check it out! Order something greasy! This place is as famous as Dick's in Seattle, Milwaukee's Mr. Kopp's, etc. Be prepared to work the calories off in the next few days. read more

Used to be good, now its over priced garbage! They raised their prices and changed the food, and its gone downhill. The fries are some kind of frozen crinkely crap, unlike they used to be. The chicken is greasy dripping and overpriced! What a shame! read more
