I came to pick up the food, I was told it was almost time to come pick it up, I came and saw my food with my name on it and I told her it was me and the person who was working acted like she didn't see me and I waited like that for 20 minutes... I saw that she behaves well and pleasantly with others, that is, people, but badly with me, I don't know why. And it's like that non-stop. That's why I'm going to put one star, although it's not even for a star, it's for 0, I hope that the manager of that restaurant will be replaced soon and sent to work so that he can be fired from his job, I hope and I know that there are others of us who are going through the same bad times, who serve us and we pay with money and they do business on our account and get a check. read more

Burger was overcooked. Buns were stale. 100 drink choices is great. Peanuts are a nice touch. But your are about the burgers. Do better. Asking for tips when you order at the counter and pick up your own food is inappropriate. It says you don't pay your employees a living wage and you want me to subsidize you. read more

Just a random stop here this afternoon at about 1 pm for a basic burger. IMHO.... There's about as many ways to make a burger and fries as there are burger joints in Tucson and I have to say that Five Guys has broken the code on how to do it! I got the regular two patty hamburger as a lettuce wrap with mayo, catsup, pickle, tomato, and relish. I also got the little fries and a regular soda drink. The drink comes out of the machine perfectly with plenty of fizz and flavor. There's also as many ways to make fries as there are burger joints in Tucson as well, but the way they make them at Five Guys is the way I like them. Everything was great, the lettuce was crunchy, the burger tasty, the fries HOT with the right amount of salt for me (and I get a couple of things with catsup for dipping), the staff was friendly and there was this one guy who kept cleaning and scrubbing the tables, floors, doors, just everything. But it's a premium burger and you pay for it. I'd go again! read more

The parking space designated for disabled people is directly in front of the side door and I have a permanent disability card for my front rear view mirror. When I parked then tried to open the door, I discovered that it was locked although I could see customers inside. It was extremely hot outside and, although I was able to walk around to the front door, I have a bad back and my feet are arthritic, so I had to walk very slowly and the temperature was well over 100° outside. When got to the counter to order (it was late afternoon, not busy and there were no other customers waiting), the first thing I did was ask why the door was locked. The employee at the register told me that they keep it locked because street people wander in at all hours and do not make any purchases. I asked if the manager was on site because I wanted to explain that it may not be legal to have the door by disabled parking locked without posting a large visible sign stating that the door is kept closed. The manager was not there. I asked if I could exit through that door and the employee (who was very pleasant and young) cheerily told me, "Of course. Anybody can use the door to exit. They just can't get in the door." I ordered my lunch, waited until it was ready to be picked up, then left. I have only stopped in a few times but I was able to find parking in the front. That day the parking spaces closest to the front door were all taken. Surprising because there were only a few customers inside...maybe employees park out front? Honestly, considering the high priced burgers, the length of time it takes to prepare the food and the not so great burgers, I will not be stopping in there ever again. I did politely inform the nice employee that he should probably inform his manager that keeping the door by disabled parking locked may not be compliant with the ADA laws. I live very close by and I tend to avoid McDonald's, Burger King and other drive through fast food businesses when I simply crave a decent burger with good topping choices. From now on, I'll stick with Graze. They offer far better burgers for very reasonable prices considering how outstanding the quality of ingredients and the fantastic choices for additional toppings go. read more

Today around 3:30pm bought sun burgers n fry's They were so nasty tasting, we're sick to our stomach at this moment. I've had better tasting burgers n today it was poor, I'll never go back again , for the price of one burger n fries I expect better . This store was not any good. We had to dive to this establishment because the one on broadway has been closed. I Experience a great burger there. But Campbell Establishment was so nasty . The customer service was great and the cashier was super helpful. I went in today to order some fried well done because I had heard from a friend you could do that I asked the cashier for the request upon which she accepted however when I received my fried they were still cooked regular but still good. Shake, was damn near incredible. Peanut butter shake from five guys was a serious game changer and will be frequenting five guys when indulging my milkshake habit. Disappointed with staff. I just left this place, a gentleman who was "homeless" for lack of a better word walked in, I offered to buy him a meal which included a beverage. The staff yelled at him for filling up his water bottle with "soda"... while they gave him his food, there a quiet exchange of words between him And the staff, as he is walking out, one of the females who was prepping food was telling one of the other staff members that he should have responded with "look at you and look at me, you're homeless' some not all of the staff was being loud and almost poking fun of him. Looks amazing, tastes like nothing. I've had 5 Guys a few times over the years and have never been blown away but unfortunately it seems they are getting even less flavorful. Looking at my burger it is very appealing with the size and the melty cheese etc. I am not a fan of chopped onions and don't know why they wouldn't leave them sliced, also if you're going to offer lettuce it's probably the cheapest condiment so no real need to shred off tiny strips for the burger. But that could all be overlooked if the burger was amazing and sadly it isn't. There is no seasoning on the meat. I added mustard and A1 sauce and it was fine but with so many other and local options out there I'm not sure why I continue to try here. OK, Five Guys, I've given you four chances. What got me back were your peanuts and your fries. Your burgers didn't. Today was the last time before we part company. I think their burgers are the most overrated of any in town. They are bland. No flavor. If it weren't for all the toppings I put on it, the only flavor that I would get would be the bun. As a matter of fact, the predominant flavor is the bun. The last 1/4 of the burger, I decided to dissect it and just eat the patty. Yep. No flavor. Nothing there that excites my taste buds. By gum, if I'm going to spend $7.00 on a burger, it had better be at least decent! There are better burgers in town for the same or lower price. You'll find me there. read more

I couldn't gift Five Guys with a better compliment, review or glowing recommendation than the following tale. My husband is an east coast boy. I am a west coast girl. Our battles over west coast (the BEST coast) and east coast (the LEAST coast) at times reach Tupac-Biggie proportions. All in good fun of course (like, no one has been shot yet). That being said, maybe the only reason we are still married is because I have never once claimed that the west coast darling In-N-Out Burger is superior to the east coast beloved Five Guys Burgers and Fries. And I've never said such a thing because, well, it isn't true. One of the first places my spouse dragged me to in his home state of Maryland was Five Guys - as he fondly recalled how he remembered the days (back in them there late 90s) when Five Guys was a three location operation in DC. I can see him telling this story (in his late 90s) to our grandchildren....because that's how much he loves Five Guys. So when he found out they were opening a restaurant in Tucson, AZ he all but stalked the place until they swung wide the front doors, taking his first chance to patronize the new digs just as soon as he could - which just happened to be two hours after he'd had SURGERY. And that, friends and neighbors, is devotion. A guy that went directly from the OR at UPH to the discarded peanut shell strewn floor of Five Guys. And, my personal opinion? The Tucson version of FG burgers were even better than the ones I'd had on their precious east coast. Must be that magical west coast touch. read more

Five Guys has been rightly described as the "In N Out" of the East coast, something I completely subscribe to. Tucson joins a number of cities where East coast meets West coast, and are lucky enough to get both. Where In N Out extolls the virtues of a simple, very simple menu, Five Guys offers a completely different order of burger customizations all while not sacrificing quality. I went there on opening night and have visited a few times since, and now think I've got enough impressions to square away a real review. First off is location - Five Guys picked a location with gratuitous parking in the Albertsons shopping market. Traffic has increased since they moved in, but the location on the whole isn't so congested that I avoid getting a burger from them purely because of parking availability. So far it's good. What makes me a bit puzzled is why they subdivided the building the way they did. The interior is narrow and obviously a bit undersized, since a week after open it's still regularly packed to the point of having no available seating. Mark of a good burger, though. Food itself has been awesome thus far. It's hard to really benchmark a chain restaurant's food quality when they've only just opened, especially since employees are only just starting to scale up quality and efficiency and get the process down. I've been to other Five Guys, and this one luckily was just as good as I expected it to be right when they opened. When it comes to consistency, I've had no issues thus far. I've heard one or two hearsay accounts of orders being messed up, but never encountered that myself, even after inordinately weird toppings were requested. What's different about Five Guys again is the menu - you can order a default set of toppings by requesting everything, or a smaller subset of more typical toppings. Or you can order one by one. All of them are free - this is awesome. Just from the fact that the menu is by default more customizable, Five Guys wins over In 'N Out for me in this category - secret menu items aside, Five Guys is still able to churn out orders quickly even with different toppings on each one. Fries are kind of a toss up for me. I've had the regular and the cajun one, and they're not really the style of fries I like. I vastly prefer In 'N Out's style of fries over Five Guys, which are thick steak-fry type potato logs. They're a bit flaccid, and what's really annoying is how they're packaged - in a cup. The result is that the cup is chucked into the paper bag with burgers, and invariably falls over. You get fries all over the bag, which is slightly annoying. That's kind of a stupid thing to whine about, but it's a bit more of a mess than I like. Speed is getting better at Five Guys - I've heard incorrectly from a few people that you're given a meal free at this chain if the food isn't out in under X minutes. This isn't the case. In my short time coming, speed has scaled pretty well under load, and will probably get better when the local hype subsides. Lines have been actually getting longer as word of mouth spreads. The war between East and West coast burgers won't ever be truly decided - each offers a distinct style that doesn't compromise on quality. For me, Five Guys offers a competitive alternative to In 'N Out in the higher-end burger/fast food market. The value is there (it's cheap), and the quality is there too (meat is never frozen, and you've got tons of fresh toppings choices). If you can deal with the relatively quick moving line and want a quality burger, I heartily recommend Five Guys. read more

I resolved to eat more veggies and less meat this year. So when my daughter begged me to bring her here for her first solid meal in days (wisdom teeth removal) I was wondering if I was going to be eating peanuts and french fries for lunch. However, I was pleased to learn that Five Guys does actually make a "veggie burger" of sorts. It's basically a hamburger bun with cheese and burger fixings, but since Five Guys offers a boatload of fixings, they were able to hook me up with a decent sandwich. Lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and peppers, mushrooms, jalapeños, and cheese. It was no Boca burger, but it wasn't bad, either - and given the alternative (eat nothing) I was happy. I was told they also make a grilled cheese. In terms of fast burger joints, this is our go to place. As Corey D. mentioned in his review, there's nothing ground breaking about their beef - it's the array of fresh, quality toppings that make it great. The french fries are some of the best I've had anywhere, including at more upscale restaurants. The peanuts are a fun and novel addition. They do play their music pretty loud, which can be either bad (if you're trying to have an intimate conversation) or good (if you appreciate a little Journey or Springsteen to drown out your kids bickering). I'll keep this one short: Get the Bacon Cheeseburger "all the way". All the toppings are free. "All the way" comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mayo, ketchup and mustard. (I add raw onion and fresh Jalapenos to mine...no extra $) A true $6 burger. Well worth it. Damn tasty. Fries are pretty good, but really excess once you get through the burger. Wife stated last night "This is the best burger I have EVER had!" I do not disagree! Usually I only write about my bad experiences because I want to give everyone a heads up but this place deserves 5 stars due to the fact that they gave my boyfriend and I the BEST customer service we've had in a long time. So lets jump in; Five Guys Burgers & Frys located at Campbell & Glenn in Tucson Arizona is wonderful and I don't mean just their food. The employees there are phenomenal. Yes they were left in a kind of screwed up situation seeing as how someone called in and ordered a shit ton of food and then ended up not wanting it so they had all this extra cooked food that was just going to get thrown away but my boyfriend and I ordered just regular cheese burgers cause money was tight and they ended up making our burgers doubles instead. I over the employees who work at this location. They are always in good moods. They provide great customer service and customers who come in a lot they actually remember them. 5 stars to you guys! This is my 2nd visit tl this location, 1st time was terrible, 2nd time much better. The restaurant was very clean, music option was awesome, service sub par. The food in general was very fresh, still piping hot when we started eating. The biggest complaint and what we felt ruined the meal was the BUN CHOICE... It was way to weak to hold even the basic options. I had to scrape everything off towards the end...the burger was falling apart in my hands. The toppings were all fresh, it looked awesome..just didnt deliver. The burger in general needed seasoning..at least salt and pepper, the fries were hands down the best part of the meal...hot, crunchy and flavorful. For the price I definitely wont be going back, we only went because we had a gift card. read more

Used to be my favorite fries in town! Policy is dropped fresh to order making them Crispy and so hot, you have to wait for them to cool down. Came in yesterday to treat my self after work and ordered the fries exclusively. I was prepared to wait 5 minutes for hot fresh fries. Instead literally 15 seconds after I order, not even done filling up my water cup they were ready. They called my order number which I recognized, but I thought that can't be mine. It was. I figured maybe they just finished making a bunch of fries for an order. When I got home and had my first bite, they were so plain and cold I contemplated for 10 minutes going back and either getting a refund or a re-Fire. I should have done either one of those and not consumed those fries. I woke up sick in the middle night, I thought I was treating myself and this is the thanks I get. I will never ever spend my money on this food again. I have the confidence and free time to make fresher fries at home. What a huge disappointment especially when the person who handed me those fries was wearing a black shirt, possibly a manager. What a waste of $6 a good nights rest. read more

Their seems to be a lot of goofing off and playing around behind the counter. A lot of yelling, even a customer came in yelling nonsense. So much for a quiet fast food lunch. The music inside was so loud in the main eating area I couldn't hear myself think. So I went into the back, secondary, eating area. Terribly loud there as well. It's a little cold outside, but I chose to go out there to get away from the rock and roll. No dice. Lots of noise there too. Geez guys. You have multiple eating areas, can't you drop the sound in one of them? By the way, I asked for grilled mushrooms. They forgot to grill some of them. My bun was soaked with water from the mushroom can. Soggy bread on an otherwise tasty burger. Not good. I normally like visiting Five Guys. Not this time. Not this location. UPDATE: Nobody reached out to me, after my review was submitted several months ago, with either an apology or a promise to get it right next time. I just got done taking my son to the Cancer Center to have his chemo treatment and he wanted to stop at Five Guys to eat. When I went to pick up my order after my order number was called, the employee at the counter looked confused because my order was already picked up. After showing my receipt with my order number the employee went and retrieved my order from another customer. After finding out that they ate some of the food from out of the bag I was asked if I would like new fries made or my order remade. I insisted I would like my complete order remade. Overrated and overpriced. I spent the entire meal wishing I was at Zinburger. I spent $10 on my meal, when for just two more dollars I could have gotten Zinburger's lunch special and been in burger-lover Heaven. First off the burger: it had absolutely no flavor. The large topping selection was nice but toppings can never make up for a bad burger. The fries: I got the Cajun friends while my friends got their regular fires. The Cajun fries were ok, not nearly good enough to make up for the lousy burger. My friends who got the regular fries thought they were better than In-N-Out's. The decor of the restaurant was obnoxious. Plastered around the restaurant were signs proclaiming all the "awards" and accolades that 5 Guys had received. If we're already in your restaurant trying your food, let your food show us how good you are, not your signs. Skip it and go to one of the many superior burger joints in Tucson. read more

This burger is not worth all the hype. For weeks I have been reading about how the primary competition for 5 guys was In and Out. Maybe I was expecting too much, but the burger was just a notch above edible. I traveled nearly 15 minutes across town to eat a burger that I can obtain from a low budget cookout. The meat tasted like it was purchased from a local grocery store. The cheese was/tasted like ordinary tasteless American slices. I am a man that likes a good cheese on my burger....Cheddar makes it better. The sesame bun tasted like it was purchased at the same local grocery. And the fries! Maybe I made the mistake of getting Five Guys Style instead of the Cajun Style. Yes, the fries are made from fresh potatoes, but I think cooking them in peanut oil just is not a wise choice. I could barely eat half of the order before I gave up on them. My ketchup and an excessive amount of black pepper recipe could not save these hot,soggy,greasy potato sticks. Even though the line was going outside the door, we were served quite quickly. The staff was friendly and were nice enough to explain ordering process. A Hamburger is actually a double burger and a Little Burger is single patty burger. Burgers come plain with your choice of toppings. You get a choice of 16 toppings, which are free. These toppings range from the expected like pickles and lettuce to premium toppings like grilled mushrooms and jalapenos. For those who do not want a burger there is a veggie sandwich, various hot dogs and a grilled cheese. Dinner for 2 cost me $16.64. The order was a little cheeseburger, a little bacon cheeseburger, regular order of fries and 2 regular drinks. I rate food based on a taste to cost ratio. My little cheeseburger cast me $4.09 and tasted poorly. Throw in the cruddy fries and the travel across town. I can only give 5 guys 2 stars. I will not be eating here again unless someone else is willing to drive me there. If I drive that far I am going to Brushfire BBQ. I can provide a few suggestions that I feel have a high taste to cost ratio. My first suggestion would be Culvers. This place is totally Midwest, but there are a few locations in Phoenix. They use fresh beef and cheddar. Lindy's on 4th. That guy cooks'em the way I like them, with crispy edges. Fuddruckers is gourmet and has many condiments to dip your burger in. Casita de Cecilia, Cecilia makes her burgers big, cheap, sloppy and scrumdiddlyumptious. Zinburger, a little high priced for my cheap ass, but the taste and service totally justify the cost. What is up with all the rave reviews? First of all, this place has very poor ambiance, the tables are packed into a very small space, with very loud music playing. There is no elbow room whatsoever, with stacks of potato sacks defining the order line. Even cleaning up after your meal is difficult, since the trash cans sit within inches of dining tables and you have to push your trash next to people who are trying to eat their meal. The servings are way too much--they are made for FAT people. For example, if I wanted a double burger, I would have ordered one. Instead, from the menu I thought I was getting a regular size burger. I ended up with two patties. Now, my dog did enjoy the second patty, however--no complaints from her. What's with the greasy french fries? Why do they come in a cup, which only holds a fraction of the fries, so that the fries spill out all over the paper bag container in which you get your food? Then the grease gets all over the paper bag. Really gross. The clientele looked like people who perhaps eat way too many double cheese burgers, if you catch my drift. Five Guys =quantity; no quality.
