It's definitely a different flavor for a hamburger but perfect for the southwest. I never had green chili in a burger before but it was good enough to return when I'm craving that light slice and flavor of the hatch green chili. Service is pretty fast and food always fresh. Lived in New Mexico for years about 25 years ago and was a huge fan of Blakes. When I hit Tucson it was one of my first stops. Was not impressed the first visit so did a second one before doing a review. Service - nothing wrong here. Friendly cashier and the food came out quickly and hot. Price - higher than comparable places but I would have no problem if the quality was there. Food-sigh. Not as remembered. Hatch green chilis are still my favorite and the burger is large. However it is one of the greasiest burgers i have ever had. It was the same way on the second visit and the bottom of the bun just soaks it up. I want to like them and will probably try a different location but very disappointing. read more

Haven't eaten at Blake's since moving from NM. Was in Tucson & remembered they had one. So we stopped and ordered a Lotaburger combo and an Itsaburger combo- special order with green chile, bacon and double toasted buns. We ordered through the drive thru. The young lady was very patient and informative. When we got to the window to pick up and pay, we were warmly greeted by a very friendly young lady. Our orders were correct- napkins and ketchup were in our bag. My special order was delicious- cooked to perfection and made exactly as I ordered it. The fries were outstanding- fresh and nicely seasoned. My husband's order was just as yummy. Now I know why this was a hometown favorite. Will definitely stop whenever in Tucson read more

Honestly, I'm not here to talk about the food, although it is quite good. I wanted to address the staff at this particular location. I was a student at the Empire Beauty School, just five minutes away, but due to certain circumstances, I often had to wait early in the mornings. A while back, I had an encounter with a man who left me feeling very uncomfortable and unsafe. I tend to keep to myself and try to handle most situations independently, so when I spotted that same man again outside of Blake's Lotaburger, I tried to avoid him without escalating the situation or causing a scene. I quickly seized the opportunity to enter the establishment for my safety, hoping he wouldn't follow me inside, but sadly, that wasn't the case. The staff there quickly recognized that I was distressed and shaken up because of the man. I was grateful that they acted promptly and discreetly to ensure my safety without raising suspicion. They managed the situation quietly, making sure the man stayed away from me and left the establishment before checking on me. I was extremely thankful for everything they did that day. After that incident, I continued to visit Blake's, not just for the food but for the people. I enjoyed talking to the staff in the mornings and befriending them. The atmosphere always felt warm and safe. I appreciated quietly waiting each morning and chatting with the staff as they tended to regulars. read more

I was in line for 10 minutes at 8:30 in the morning actually from 8:20 to 8:30 for a bacon burrito and a mushroom Swiss burger when it's breakfast you're usually on your way to work. Food is delicious and come in good portions which made up for the pricing. The restaurant was fairly cleaned however one table was unavailable due to it having a pile of paperwork from staff. Loved the interior decor and walls. When my family and I entered the restaurant, we were not greeted by none of the staff. Felt an unwelcoming vibe. Location is wheelchair accessible on the outside however the inside including the restroom is not due to not having a push button for doors to open & restroom having the hand soap and hand towel dispenser being so high up above the hand sink. My mom come in an orders the #5 which is your choice of meat with beans. It orginally comes with potatoes and chesse. They always ALWAYS make it wrong! She asks for bacon with no potatoes and no cheese. Just a bacon and bean buritto with double hatch chile inside. The latest mess up went like this. We ordered and the burrito came with bacon, potatoes, cheese, and chili. We had to come back to tell them it was made wrong. It was missing beans and it wasn't supposed to have potatoes and cheese. They re make the burrito. Now it has beans and potatoes, with chili onside. We tell them again! The burrito is made wrong! They give us a side of beans and re make the burrito once more. Having lived in New Mexico for a few years and knowing Blakes from its original stores, I have to admit this trip to Blakes here was nostalgic. Don't eat fast food often but we were in the area and it seemed a good pick. We both had the New Mexico double with green chili (mine had bacon too) regular fries and seasoned fries. The service was par for fast food but the food was surprisingly fresh and tasty. The burgers were served so fresh they were too hot to eat! The fries were the same. When you took a bite of the burger it was steamy stove hot. That is rare for a fast food place. The lettuce, tomato and green chili were all fresh and crisp nothing soggy. Good job to the crew working on 5/27/22 afternoon! Will stop in again when I'm in the area and thinking New Mexico burger. read more

I stopped at the 2810 E Speedway Blvd location and ordered a Lota Burger w/cheese.. I said I was paying cash and gave her a 50 and the girl said she couldn't take it. It was too large of a bill. I said, you don't have signs posted about that. She said nope! I a scrounged up enough change and ones to pay. I asked if she would've just said no to my business if all I had was a 50. She said yes. I asked for the manager and she said she was on the phone. I asked for her store # and my receipt . She said she asked me if I needed a receipt and I said no. She never asked. I have only had a Blake's Lotaburger once before, in New Mexico but I remember that it was awesome! So when I saw that they were now down in Tucson I made a point of stopping by with my wife. The food was NOT nearly as good as I remembered. The fries, rings and burgers were fresh, and cooked correctly. The rings were pretty decent, but that was about it. The burgers didn't have that wonderful flavor which you can easily get elsewhere, and both my wife's double cheeseburger and my own double cheeseburger came with the unexpected/explainable surprise in that the additional patty is about 2/3rds the size of the first patty. Explain that to me. I paid for a double burger, not a 1 and 2/3rds. Strange. Overall I was pretty disappointed because I had built the place up in my mind after my visit in New Mexico. My wife reminded me though that when I made that first visit, it was after a 5 hour motorcycle ride into high wind in the middle of the day, so at that point just having an excuse to get off the bike would have been enough to make even McDonald's taste like a 5 star restaurant. Been here 3-4 times. I used to love going to Blakes on my travels through New Mexico especially to get the green chili burgers. It was good to get one in Tucson. The food is standard for Blakes, burgers fries and drinks. The green chili is the main draw. I will say that I am okay with the local place, but they are very slow even with no one in the lobby or drive thru. The place is often not very clean and the staff seem very brusk and not very interested in customer service, which is not uncommon in fast food, but was never my experience in New Mexico. I would try it out to try a different state's fast food, like taking a visitor to Eegees, but unless you have a strong green chili desire, then there are other offerings in the immediate area to try first. read more
