There are not a lot of barbecue places in the Tucson area. Stumbled across this place on accident, because it was Valentine's Day on Saturday and I was taking my little sister out for her birthday. We tried many places that were closing down so that they could serve valentines day dinner. We walked into Fork and Fire. The wait was minimal. The food was phenomenal. I never knew we could have this good barbecue in Arizona hands-down one of the best! You've got to get here and try it! Service was fast friendly. Finally stopped in the other day to Wildfire Wings & Grill. Let's not the overlook the & grill part - this place is about more than just wings. Don't get me wrong, the wings are really good and you have several options (bone-in, boneless, Daytona, or wood-smoked bacon style), but PLENTY of other good options on the menu. I got the Philly Cheesesteak and it absolutely BLEW ME AWAY. I was never expecting a good cheesesteak here, let alone such a masterpiece. Let's start here - they use the Amoroso roll. That's official. So they take it seriously. But it hardly ends there. The steak is delicious and tender, exactly the right combination of onions and peppers (I opted out of jalapeños this time, but that's an option), delicious sauce/gravy/drippings. Doesn't make the roll too soggy at all, it's an excellent texture. Just an absolutely delicious sandwich. They've got a chicken version as well and it's almost as good, it really hits the mark, too. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, delicious cubes (not shreds) of chicken. Awesome. The chicken and waffle sliders are also excellent! You think they're small, but you get two and they're really filling and great, too. Fluffy little waffle, excellent maple syrup, crispy tender chicken. Nice. There are other good looking menu options I haven't tried yet (fried chicken dinner, shrimp po'boy, fish tacos). And really good weekday specials (taco Tuesday, 99 cent wing Wednesday). On top of all THAT, the service was outstanding! We sat at the bar and had a great time. Josh was our bartender/server and he was a lot of fun to interact with. Very personable, great guidance on the menu, AND he makes excellent mixed drinks. I forgot to remind everyone the drinks here really are great. Nice complement to the food. Just as a note - I don't have a strong opinion either way on this - the bone-in traditional wings are lightly breaded, as are the French fries. After we went hiking at Catalina State Park, we looked to find a place for lunch. Wildfire came out the winner of our search and we gave the place a try. I had the Daytona Smoked Wings with Pineapple Teriyaki sauce and my wife tried the Crispy Jumbo Shrimp with the Florida Bugaboo sauce. The wings are smoked, then grilled to a Crispy skin and the sauce I ordered was sweet and mild. The Shrimp were cooked perfectly and sizeable. A great find up in the Catalina area just of Oracle Rd. We live less than 10 minutes from this restaurant but have never been. And we love chicken wings! But wildfire has a lot more to offer than just wings. They have burgers, artisan mac and cheese, a great list of appetizers and a while bar menu with happy hour options. Service is very friendly and food comes out fairly quickly. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the traditional wings and my boyfriend had the Daytona style wings. We stopped into Wild Fire on a late evening while in AZ. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. The history of wildfires, notated by wing flavors is interesting and great conversation pieces. Wild Fire offers a full bar as well as a few TVs throughout. During our visit, I slurped on a locate 20oz Church Music IPA for $7.50 while my dad and wife slurped on a 20oz Barrio rotating draft for $8. For starters we shared the Firebombs (qty 4) for $11.95: fried Mac & Cheese and Pulled Pork Fritters. This appetizer stole the show. So good. My wife ordered six dry rub crispy chicken wings for $1.89 each. My dad ordered two six sauced crispy chicken wings for $1.89 each. Both enjoyed their flavor choices; however, both stated not the best wings they've ever had. Wings seemed a bit costly to me at $1.89 each. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Nachos for $14.25. A platter of soggy chips covered with runny queso, miniscule shredded cheese, tasty BBQ chicken and red onion. The only thing eaten off this plate was the BBQ chicken. What a disappointing dish. The other flavor I chose was Preshtigo (bold sauce) and that too was flavorful & my favorite. Other sauces Yaquina & Past Chance. The kiddos got Deep Creek and always a kids favorite. The wings had a nice thin breaded coating and we like our wings extra crispy!
