This is the second time I've ordered since my last review and it's just not consistent. I see the same people working here too so I'm very confused. When it's good it's great. But when it's bad it's just mediocre and annoying. Idk if the ingredients have changed but my sub was missing stuff that I asked for and tasted off. I've driven by Hoagie House for years, and I also meant to stop. Running errands one Saturday, I decided to finally go. I ordered ahead on the establishment's website - super easy - and I was also able to choose to pay in person. I arrived, and my order was ready for me - yay! I took it home, and both sandwiches that I ordered were perfect! I'm so used to getting something to go, and the order is wrong. Not at Hoagie House!! Because they kept my husband's meatball sandwich in the microwave oven (not on, silly), it was still hot by the time I got home (another yay!). The meatballs were flavorful and juicy, and the provolone was melted, all topped with ample marinara and the other toppings I specified. My sandwich was perfect and messy (come on, that's a sign of a good hoagie). Lots of toppings, and the seasoning and oil and vinegar were a great accompaniment. These hoagies are great - delicious bread, fresh ingredients, and perfectly made. My mouth is watering as I'm writing this. So, stop driving by, and go on in - it's worth the trip! read more

I haven't been to a hoagie house in probably 10+ years, but I just needed a good, cold sandwich, and I was in the neighborhood.... 10/10 recommend. The girls working were both SO stinkin friendly and sweet, knew the menu, made small talk - but not the annoying kind... the loaded me up with extra pickles which is the best part of any sandwich! And they told me to drive safe, because a monsoon was rolling in. The food was amazing, good portion and a fair price. The staff was friendly and quick to help.

I lived in Tucson most of my childhood and now again for the last 5 months and I'd never been to Hoagie House until today. Safe to say, I was missing out.. Friendly service, great sandwiches and fast! I highly recommend the Carmichael or the steak and onion sandwich. I used to only go to Eegees but they are a little pricey compared to Hoagie House. Just wanted to say I've always liked the the "Hoagie House". But I had a special experience yesterday, they made a mistake on my sandwich nothing wrong just added an ingredient I didn't want which was lettuce. The young lady behind the counter was very nice and immediately had no problem replacing my sandwich. I was so appreciative I bought an extra one for a friend. When I got home finally getting the sandwich just the way I wanted cheese steak with only onions and peppers "My God" it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in awhile. Just got back from a trip on the East Coast (Washington DC area) where we have something called a "Carry out that makes sandwiches like this and this is one of the best ones I've had in all of Arizona reminds me of a carry-out. The young lady on the grill knew exactly what she was doing.. She put that sandwich together perfectly. Hogie House has been in Tucson for eons but I've never tried it until today. The good: They have pastrami. They will make it the way I like it which is bread, meat, cheese, mustard and pickle chips. The bread was nice and soft. The employees are super customer service oriented and friendly. It's clean and I didn't have to wait to be served. As for my sandwich which really is the most important part? I'm not impressed. The pastrami should be the star of my lunch show and it was lackluster. Average in taste, a little spongy feeling in the mouth but the serving of meat was pathetic. My guy ordered a double meat pastrami and the amount of meat on his double is what should have been on my regular single. We also ordered some spicy fries. They were simply seasoned fries and nothing special at all. I will say the price was right though because we got two 9" sandwiches for the price of one because that wonderful girl at the counter told us about their online coupons. I guess Hogie House will be around for many more years to come since many in Tucson consider it an institution. As for me? I don't plan to return. read more

My dad remembers going here when he was younger so it is a tucson staple! I got the turkey and I decided decided let them do it as is. I susally take things off but decided not to this time. As I was sitting in my vehicle before the business was opening a female hoagie house employee driving a blue ford focus pulls into the empty parking lot and heads quickly towards my parked vehicle, as she gets inches from my vehicle she parks directly in front of me, nearly hitting my vehicle. I assumed I was parked where she needed to be parked, so I reversed and gave her plenty of space. She gets out of her car and begins to angrily yell and cuss at me, I told her I got out of her way and I will leave. She continues to cuss me out for parking in the parking lot as she enters the back entrance of the locked business. She was very rude and unprofessional and hopefully she will be retrained how to treat potential customers parked in her parking space. read more

Rather skimpy on the meat. I usually get the pastrami sandwich. I used to go to the one on Oracle, but it's permanently closed. This Hogie House is on Speedway. Great service, but cutting back on costs by using less meat. Bread is great, flavor great, but just skimpy on meat............ Update: I continue to go to this Hogie House. I decided to give them another chance. I work near by, so I go about once a week after I get off shift. Still love the Pastrami sandwich. We recently visited the Speedway location a half hour before close on Labor Day, and the two gentlemen working (i didn't get their names ) were so nice despite it being so close to closing.
