Omg! So so good Pastrami sandwich with Buffalo fries - both sandwich and chips are on the salty side, just a tad, but yummy. Chicken Fried Steak - yummy. Popular local spot serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have lunch specials and some daily specials. Lindsey our waitress was so attentive and helpful and was a mover . The Western Birger was a good choice, perfectly grilled seasoned burger smothered with cheese, bacon , grilled onions and bbq sauce served with a side of crispy beer battered onion rings made the lunch complete. We really enjoyed our first time at Grumpy's. They were able to accommodate party of 7 and had something different for each of us. Great options for kids. My 8 year old loved the shrimp basket. The mozzarella sticks were also a hit. I love diner type food and I would say this was it, plus a little more elevated with more variety of dishes to choose from than your regular diner. Service was great. Our server was attentive and friendly. I had the chicken Cesar wrap with the dressing on the side. It was a decent portion size. I also got the sweet potato fries as my side and they were some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had, crispy and tasty. Good food man. It's breakfast but it's actually good! The atmosphere is old Chicago lighting has a bar!! They have cute little Xmas trees everywhere right now. The eggs Benedict was great! I finally made it to Grumpy's Restaurant, and honestly--I wish I hadn't waited so long. Living on Tucson's East Side, it's a bit of a drive, but after hearing so many glowing recommendations, I had to see what the buzz was about. It turns out Grumpy's has been quietly building a stellar reputation through years of hard work and consistency--and it shows. The food and service were outstanding. I'd heard great things about their chili and burgers, so I went with the open-face chili burger--and wow. It was absolutely delicious: hearty, flavorful, and generously portioned. Honestly, it could have fed two people easily. But the real standout? The wings. Phenomenal doesn't even begin to describe them. These might just be the best wings in Tucson--perfectly sized, with crispy skin, zero greasiness, and just the right amount of heat. Spicy enough to satisfy, but not so hot that you lose the flavor of the chicken. They alone are worth the drive. What really sets Grumpy's apart is its authentic, local vibe--the exact opposite of a big chain restaurant. There's no glitz here. No tablecloths, no fancy BS. This is where you go for great food. We made it to Grumpy's twice while vacationing in Tucson, AZ. The first time was for breakfast. It was on a Sunday morning and the place was super busy. Grumpy's is located in a strip mall and the outside looks as if it's a store, but then you walk in and it's a really nice restaurant. The staff couldn't be nicer. Even with a number of people waiting, it was well organized and moved well. Our second time there was for an early dinner and it was just as nice. Our last visit to grumpy's grill was not a pleasant experience. Today my wife took me out to breakfast and asked if we could try grumpys grilll on Ina to give it a second chance . I agreed, but what a mistake! Service was slow for not being busy .This time the food was horrible, everything was cold from the start . But that's not the worst of it , my scrambled eggs were stale and tasted very old. The bacon was chewy ,old and cold with grease stuck to it . The toast was stale and had a funny taste. My wife's breakfast special was far from anything special. She tried a couple bits and gave up. The waitress finally showed up when asked how things were my wife told her everything was extremely cold and tasted very old . She asked would you like anything else, really ? We visited GG on a Thursday evening, curious after reading the great reviews and seeing that the prices were so great. We were a party of four, ordering the PB burger, the roast beef with gravy, the green chile chicken, and the reuben sandwich with two amber dos equis and a screwdriver. The drinks were all supposed to be $3 each, per the Grumpy's Facebook post, but the waitress and bartender were not aware of the screwdriver price and charged us $6.50 for that. When we questioned it and showed the FB post, we were not given a new bill with the new price but instead were asked (while they were very busy) if we really wanted the discount, and we said no, it was OK. This shouldn't have been the protocol, and the staff should be aware of the specials advertised. The waitress was very nice and had lots of smiles for us but had to be reminded of simple things, like serving a spoon with soup or bringing things requested like a lid for a salad dressing that would be going home with a side salad, or bring a requested sauce. She told us she was new, so we weren't overly concerned or annoyed, but it did take away from the experience. The place is much like an old East Coast diner, but without the kitschy exterior. I am sure this place hasn't been renovated ever but the place was clean, so that is always a positive. Everyone seemed pleased with their food, which was just your standard, hearty diner fare. They are known for their green chile selections and that was gobbled up. The peanut butter burger was unusual and the person who got that said it was perfectly cooked to order, so that is excellent. The Reuben sandwich eater said it was the best one he had there, after previously having them with less meat and flavor. The hot roast beef sandwich with brown gravy was predictably heavy and flavored as would be expected. The menu described it as coming with mashed potatoes and then the menu said that dinners come with one side. That was interpreted by us as one side in addition to the mashed potatoes, but alas, that was not the case. The side soup was to be the only side, but I asked for and got an add-on side of mashed potatoes. I was charged for the side. The vegetable soup was flavorless, so that was a waste. Overall, I am glad we tried this place out but we won't be back. We'll continue to explore the many options available in the area. PS - no one there was grumpy! ;) read more

Service is amazing and we feel like there's very little turn over with the staff, there's always familiar smiles welcoming us. Passing through town and staying nearby so I ordered pickup. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a slopper on the menu. My hometown of Pueblo CO is the home of the slopper. I can't ever find green chili outside of southern CO or NM let alone a slopper. This green chili was really really good!!! Perfect chunks of tomatoes and green chiles with pork. Loved! It wasn't very spicy, but very flavorful. If I knew it was this good I would have ordered a couple of bowls to go. read more

Service is always great. Recently discovered their chicken fried steak and I love it. My over medium eggs sometimes have undercooked whites, but I encounter that everywhere. Not sure why. Their home fries have greatly improved and are now my favorite ones. Sausage links have changed from having snappy casings to smaller, skinless mushiness, so I get bacon now. My wife and I shared the Prime Rib special and the Shrimp Basket, pretending we were "just going to split something light." Spoiler alert: we failed. Both were amazing -- and we cleaned those plates like we were getting graded. But the real MVP? The gigantic free dessert they gifted me for my upcoming birthday. First time here and brought by family members while visiting Tucson. This diner is located in a strip mall and we had about a five minute wait for a table. They were busy! It's not a huge place so think cozy as you move around getting to your table or to the restrooms. Their breakfast menu has some great choices and they offer a weekday special that's $9.00 and includes eggs, meat, potatoes, and toast. This was what one of our party ordered and it was a great plate of food for this cost. Her eggs were done just the way she ordered them and I loved that the toast was cooked and not raw! I had the pancakes, which were great and very big! There were three of them along with butter and syrup. Light, fluffy...but a few of bites had remnants of onion, which led to a couple of interesting bites. Chalked it up to being cooked on the same griddle as other foods. Wife ordered the biscuit & gravy, which you are offered a full or half order. She got the full which came with two biscuits. She said the gravy was full of sausage and very flavorful, I took a quick taste and thought it was a bit thick but she enjoyed it. We also ordered the cinnamon roll, which was good, sticky, gooey, and sweet. Our server, Reba, was great, friendly and efficient. She constantly checked in to make sure waters and coffees were filled and we had what we needed. Good experience overall! read more

Been here several times and really enjoy it. This isn't fine dining but nobody said it was. But the food QUALITY? It's outstanding in my opinion. And the service is great, I mean great. We usually have Heidi as our server and she does a fantastic job. Remembered our favorites after ONE visit and now it's an ongoing thing. She is sweet, friendly, easy to talk to, really excellent at timing (check on drinks, check on food, additional condiments, etc.), and manages to keep a lot of people happy simultaneously (she's got a lot of regulars who are her fans, understandably). And she's flexible with substitutions and things like that. I really haven't had anything I didn't like, and I've loved a lot of dishes, particularly the buffalo chicken wrap, the club sandwich, the burger, turkey wrap, southwest wrap. Fries are crispy and delicious. Even the onion rings are good - not too greasy, and not humongous like some are. You can cut them the the onion won't slither out of the breading. Chicken wings are excellent, and pretzels are a standout - crispy brown outside, moist chewy inside, just the right amount of salt, and great cheese sauce to dip. We often get them to go and eat the wings in the restaurant. Happy hour is a great deal, wine prices and selection are excellent. I had Sunday breakfast here around 9 AM. It was already very crowded, but we only had to wait a few minutes. About an hour later there was a much longer wait time. Seating was available outside and inside. Inside seating included traditional seating as well as high tops. Our waitress was very attentive, but extremely busy. The first time at a new breakfast spot, I always have the Eggs Benedict. They are a tricky dish to consistently get right. The eggs were poached nicely, but perhaps 30 seconds longer than necessary. That said I prefer a more running yolk than others. The muffin was tender and the hollandaise sauce refreshing. With most breakfast dishes you are offered a side. I went with their home potatoes. The potatoes were diced nicely, but slightly overcooked for my taste. I was a little disappointed by the long wait between ordering and being served our meal. The dish was not as hot as I expected. I suspect parts of the dish may have not been cooked at the same time. Our waitress made sure my coffee cup was never empty. Overall it was an average breakfast. The wait, the slightly overcooked breakfast and its not so hot temperature would prevent this restaurant from being a favorite on my list. That said, I am looking forward to trying out their burgers, which they have won many awards for. read more
