Great service from Abby. Attentive and warm. She made ordering easy. I got the Paloma and a glass of white sangria. Both made well and so so yummy. Food was great. Wings and truffle fries were awesome. I prefer wet and my date got dry. Dry was flavorful and tasty. Still prefer wet tho. Truffle cheese bread not as good. Something was off. Busy considering it was a Sunday late afternoon. We had a reservation and were seated promptly at that time. The heirloom watermelon salad (with added chicken) was delicious! (As was the frozen cherry limeade mocktail, but was a touch too sweet for my personal taste. My dining companion thought it was not overly sweet though.) The salad had a lot of flavor, with the watermelon, pistachio, french feta, za'atar, champagne vinaigrette and heirloom tomatoes blending beautifully. Service was excellent and friendly. Had the opportunity to try Doughbird today. From what I gathered, they've been in Tucson for about two years and are part of a smaller chain operating in three states. The space is clean, bright, and thoughtfully laid out, with an open feel and a cool sports bar area. Service was friendly and attentive--our server did a great job. The food was tasty, but I didn't feel it was a good value for the price. In my opinion, each entrée was about $5 higher than fair. The mac & cheese was flavorful, and the chicken fingers had great texture and taste, but for $20 there wasn't much meat. I understand prices have risen everywhere, but this still felt excessive. Enjoyed Doughbird as part of Sonoran Restaurant Week. They were offering a great deal with items that can be regularly found on their menu. So first up we picked the appetizer of chicken wings. You can choose dry rub or buffalo sauce and our amazing server Matthew recommended dry rub with buffalo sauce on side. Follow this advice!! The wings are not scrawny and the dry rub gets a crispy skin with good bite, then dipping into sauce gives extra flavor with as my daughter pointed out, less mess. Sauce had nice kick to it. For entrees the daughter picked the spicy pasta and I got a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was huge! Enough for a second meal. It has the smaller pepperoni pieces on it, that bake to that nice crispy fry which is so much better than large greasy pieces. Good crust. The daughters pasta was good, and a healthy recommended serving size (ie, she ate a slice of my pizza after ) but it came with a lot of sauce, which was nice to dip the pizza crust into. The sonoran week special ends with a dessert, and once again took Matthew's recommendation of the butterscotch cake with vanilla bean gelato. The gelato was delicious, nice and smooth. The butterscotch cake had a crunchy outside with a moist inside, covered in sauce. If the daughter hadn't been so full she would have licked the plate. We came here for Valentine's Day dinner which is also our wedding anniversary. We made an early reservation at 4pm and it was a nice easy in and out. The food was great! Easily the best pizza I've had in Tucson. It was even better the next day! My husband got the prime rib dip sammie it was 24$ and there was not $24 worth of meat on the sandwich, that was our only negative. I've been wanting to come here for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. The food was outstanding. The service was excellent and they have a large dog friendly patio that welcomed my 97 poodle. Pretty expensive for what it is. My friends like this restaurant though so we met for dinner. We ordered a margherita pizza and chicken tenders. Both were very good. Tenders come with an incredible coleslaw, very fresh and beautifully seasoned. Pizza was super tasty. Their Detroit style crust rocks. We topped it off with their brookie. Now that was a mistake. We had ordered a salad as an appetizer, I believe it was a brussel sprouts driven dish and I would say was bad but it wasn't very memorable either. Either. Friend wanted to try a cocktail but hadn't decided which one so Austin brought our water and then came back after a few minutes. We ordered our food and the cocktail. Austin was really nice and patient with us. Friend said the drink was good. The food came fairly quickly. The Parmesan Truffle french fries were delicious; hot, crispy, and flavorful. The truffle sauce was really good. I ordered the Tuna Sashimi salad; friend had the Caesar salad with crispy chicken. My salad had a touch too much dressing but was still very good. We did a group event here for dinner one night. We were all excited to go as none of us have ever been here. It is a large restaurant, and the seating is great with spacing and not bumping in to one another. The food was very good. The restaurant was clean as was the rest rooms. Hostesses seemed a bit confused though when we walked in, even though we had reservations. But they quickly got everything together for us and it worked just fine. The service on the other hand was horrible! The waiter forgot two of our orders completely. He took only part of the tables' orders and then walked off! We had to flag him down to get him to resume taking our order. I was so disappointed in the service here. The only thing i can say is go in with high expectations on the food, but not the service. They specialize in pizza and chicken hence the name. Definitely try out their thin crust pizza, I got their Hawaiian version. It has a kick to it but it's not that hot. The place is very popular that parking is hard to come by so arrive early. I think it's because they are next to Flower Child, another restaurant so it's easy to get confused on which restaurant to go to. They have outdoor seating as well which I highly recommend while the weather is cool. For our group of 6, we were lucky to get a sample of their thin crust pizza because their kitchen staff made one extra by mistake, it's part of the reason why I ordered one for myself. The edges were crispy but the center was light and soft. I appreciated that the pizza wasn't too dense- something i've had an issue with other Detroit style pizzas. I wish there was a little more sauce, but not a big issue at all!! My boyfriend ordered the aviator. Nothing too special with the toppings but very tasty! As if really good pizza wasn't enough, Doughbird provides THE BEST customer service I've experienced in a very long time. The staff/management are all so friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the menu items, and accommodating. We had the Pepperoni with Fresh Mozzarella, Copper Hat, and BBQ Chicken (GF crust) pizzas and they were all fantastic. The Copper Hat was a standout for me. I came here for dinner this week with a friend and loved the decor of the place. The design was well thought out. People sitting at tables next to the window either get a view out the window or in at other tables. This is so much better than restaurants where one side of the table gets stuck staring at a wall. Service was truly excellent by Zander. He even was able to get the ingredients of the dessert options so I could choose one without a specific dietary restriction. The truffle cheese bread was good but that's the only culinary choice I liked. I ordered the grilled Chilean salmon dish. The salmon eaten alone was drenched in salt. It tasted like they poured a bottle of salt on it. The accompanying sauce and couscous eaten alone was so sweet it made me nauseous. The greens that came with it were drenched in too much lemon. The BBQ chicken pizza my friend ordered was too sweet as well. So was the lemon pie. The spicy blackberry margarita was good but too spicy. The next one we ordered without the spice and was not good at all. Very syrupy. I guess the spice took away from that.
