My favorite part of this Hilton is Alloro. Friendly service all around, especially from our server Jessica. With outstanding food and portion sizes. The lemon pepper wings were better tasting than the ones at Wing Stop. And our vegetariana pizza was well prepared and shareable. I also had a lemonade while she ordered a sprite. We both ordered dessert, something we rarely do. My gelato trio was amazing, and my wife enjoyed her brownie sundae. We will be staying here for a few more nights and plan to make Alloro our dinner destination at least one more time.

This is the restaurant inside Tucson's east side Hilton. Our party of 3 went for dinner last night. We made a reservation but is was not necessary. We got the calamari appetizer. The calamari was fried perfectly and it was not tough or chewy. The tomato dipping sauce (pomodoro?) was excellent. Husband had the beef short rib dinner (with broccolini and polenta) and our friend had the beef short ribs over pasta. Both of those dishes were very very good. I was looking at an outdated menu on yelp before we went, and I had picked out the spaghetti and meatballs. It was not on the main menu any more, but I found it on the "extra" menu, so I ordered it. It was disappointing. Husband enjoyed the spicy margaritas. The service was friendly but slow. I would be willing to try this place again and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here if I was staying at the Hilton and didn't want to go out.

It's still delicious here! I came to Alloro with my family, last weekend. As far as hotel restaurants go, sometimes they can be on the generic side. Most offering traditional American fare consosting of soups, salads, and sandwiches. Most of the time, that's perfectly fine, but that won't draw in many locals. Alloro on the other hand, is a very fresh concept. The quality of Italian food they offer here rivals many higher-end Italian restaurants that I've patronized. On the Sunday we came in, we were the only ones there besides someone at the bar; that's a crying shame as this place absolutely rocks. The service was prompt, friendly, and informative, and the food is out of this world. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, and grilled chicken. For a relatively simple dish, they did a tremendous job. Also, try the Alloro spritzer. I cannot wait to try all of the other things the menu has to offer.

Allora is located on the second floor of the Eastside Hilton. I came here on a Sunday night to have dinner with some coworkers that were visiting Tucson. I checked in using my Yelp app and got a sweet 20% off our entire dinner order. This was very nice because our bill was over 200. We ordered the meat and cheese appetizer, fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, and the gnocchi. The hotel renovation was refreshing to see. Apparently it cost 9 million to completely renovate the Hilton building. The customer service was great and the staff was very friendly. The pasta was not the best fettuccine I have ever had, but it was decent. It could have had more shrimp added to it. The free bread with olive oil was just "ok". It was not the type of bread that disappears from the table and leaves everyone asking for more. My coworkers seemed to enjoy their meal. Overall we had a great time. Cheers!

I've always been a little hesistant over going to a "hotel restaurant" but I must say Alloro does not disappoint...at first, it was really unsettling that they didn't have a host/hostess up front. When one of the servers finally acknowledged us, he was gonna have us sit at a cramped table for two when I specifically made a reservation stating it's for our anniversary--anyways, the point is: patience takes you a long ways at this place. We finally got seated at one of the better/more "celebratory" seats in the back. Despite these minor hiccups at the start of the night, the food was actually delicious. We had the mussels and their fried fresh mozzarella for starters. The mozzarella was just okay but the broth on the mussels was really delicious (so much so I wish they had complementary bread that come with it, but unfortunately they don't). I mean, for the amount of waiting, I think they should have some bread with olive oil/balsamic like in most Italian restaurants but it's okay because the entrees were worth it. Plus, the wine list is decent. The pappardelle was really good, I especially like the touch of pomegranate and that the meat was tender. The braised short ribs was cooked just right and the mascarpone polenta it came with was delish...lastly, the tiramisu for dessert def hits the spot to finish off the night. Alloro was a great hotel restaurant experience, I'll def be coming back!

My partner is a passionate "foodie" who has been a successful food writer/blogger in LA and other cities throughout his career. We have been to so many amazing restaurants in Tucson as well as LA, Phoenix and Chicago. On Thursday, my partner tried to make a dinner reservation for Friday on their website and it was not working, so he called the restaurant and spoke to someone who said they did not have 5:30, but they had a 5:00 open, so we took that. He told her that he tried the website but it wasn't working and she said "that happens all the time". When we arrived on Friday at 5:00, the woman said she didn't see a reservation for us. My partner said that he called the day before and made the reservation, she was very rude, saying they were booked and she did not see a reservation for the 2 of us. My partner reiterated that he called Thursday (he's quite sure that he actually spoke with her) she said she'd try to get us a table, but we needed to be done by 6:30. She instructed someone else to seat us. Within minutes, someone approached our table and introduced himself as the owner and said very loudly and aggressively, so customers could hear "if you ever talk to one of my employees like that again, swearing and using foul language, you'll be banned from the restaurant!" I calmly said to him "he was not rude to her, he absolutely did not swear or use foul language, he does NOT do that." A good manager who cares about his customers would have handled this differently- "good evening. I understand you had issues making a reservation, tell me about that". We have been to so many amazing restaurants in Tucson, no need to patronize a place where the owner treats customers so poorly. We left and went to a very popular restaurant. The place was packed, yet we saw the owner who greeted us and asked if we had a reservation, we said "no". He said "that's ok, I'll get you a table". We had a great experience.

The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio and that's clear in advance, and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had marrow before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and then the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

If you want to bring some sweetness to the chili give a side of cornbread. Not corn kernels. Come here for drinks and to watch the games. Eat the food to soak up the alcohol.
