Barista Del Barrio is quickly becoming one of my favorite breakfast spots in Tucson. Located near Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, the heart of the Deaf community in Tucson, this area already feels like home to me so finding a spot like this makes it even better. Their breakfast burritos are unreal because you can customize almost everything for the same price unless you add extra meat. I got the chorizo burrito with a red tamale inside and WOW... they served it as two smaller burritos and I honestly think it's one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. Filling, flavorful, and unique. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion you get too. Since it's a family owned business, the people there are incredibly kind and welcoming which makes the whole experience feel personal. Definitely a must stop in Tucson.

If you don't get there right when it opens expect a line! That's how good this place is- great coffee and amazing breakfast burritos! The staff are all amazing and greet you with smiles! If it's your first time they are happy to make recommendations so that you pick the right choice! Next time I'm in town this will definitely be a place I stop in again'

Great service and fantastic burritos. Our favorite is the machaca burritos. The machaca is so flavorful. Cheese is not an extra charge. Service is friendly and quick.

Barista del Sol is the kind of place that reminds you why you fall in love with local food. Tucked right in the heart of Barrio Hollywood, it's an old converted house that's somehow managed to turn into Tucson's best-kept secret -- lines down the block, every kind of person in town waiting patiently for a bite of something sacred. And honestly? Worth. Every. Minute. This is the burrito to end all burritos -- easily the best I've had in years. Every bite is layered with flavor, the sauce is perfection, and you can just tell everything's made with love (and probably a few secret family recipes). The tamales are unreal too, and bonus points for offering vegan options that actually hit. There's only outdoor seating, but it adds to the charm -- the sunshine, the chatter, the smell of masa in the air. You just post up, unwrap your food, and know you're about to experience something that defines Tucson food culture. Barista del Sol isn't just a restaurant. It's a vibe, a neighborhood ritual, and a full-blown food heaven moment.

I heard about this place from my friend so I decided to try out Sunday morning. Their hours are from 8 AM to 12 PM. We came about 11 AM and there was a shorter line. The items on the menu were simple and the price were decent. The ambience was casual and chill. Most people just waited outside for their food. Overall, they did not disappoint and I would come back here again.

I came here early one morning with a friend and we ordered food and it got ready in no time. I've heard great things about this place the whole time I lived in Tucson, but I was never able to actually go. I got the bacon breakfast burrito and was really excited to find two in there when I opened it up! I also tried a hazelnut chai, but for some reason they gave me a churro chai. It was still excellent, wasn't a huge fan of the souls, and wish that they gave you more, but overall incredible!

10/10 my favorite quick burritos in Tucson! These take me right back to childhood in Rocky Point getting burritos from a beach vendor. The tortillas are so chewy and soft! I love the bacon or chorizo- cant go wrong either way! And now they have vegan options! The little shop is great for checking out while you wait (or for picking up preorders). The vibe is always chill- make sure you get there early - the line is usually long (but always worth it)! Ohhh and the bario berry lemonade is a must!!!

Bookmarked this place before we came to visit so on our way from the west side of the national park over to the east we decided to stop for coffee and a breakfast burrito. I will say, the line was loooong (which was no surprise having read reviews). It did take quite a while to get through the line and get our order. That said, we really enjoyed our coffee and burrito! My wife got the iced peanut butter latte and I got the iced horchata latte, and we shared a sausage burrito with guacamole. The red salsa was excellent. I don't think it is overhyped, I just think you need to be prepared to wait!

Usually deterred by the long line but finally made it out and the line moves quickly! The best quality is the grilled tortilla for the added texture. They come as 2 smaller hand-holdable burros and definitely solid with base fix ins. I doubled meat to get both chorizo and sausage and actually enjoyed the sausage a bit more for the breakfast burrito but no qualms with the chorizo. Also grabbed a tamale which tasted more like sweet corn masa. Would definitely come back if I'm in town looking for breakfast!

The vibe here is so pleasant and mellow. The over-the-top refreshing outdoor misters could put out a fire. All this is important because lines are a consistent thing here. I almost never order flavored coffees or specialty drinks. Here, though, the horchesso hot latte was balanced and not syrupy or artificial. The croissant with egg and cheese was good but sort of smooshed in the foil wrapping. It wasn't a deal breaker because it was good. Since I arrived by bicycle, this was more than enough food. I packed the bean and cheese burrito on my bike to snack on later after more riding. It was fresh and filling. I don't know that I've seen regular lines at any business in Tucson, especially one that has been open for some years. That Barista del Barrio has them obviously says a lot.

Chorizo burritos are great! You get two tiny burritos. Cute little outside shop with an order window. Service was super fast.

Been coming here for a while now and I'm not sure what's changed, but the wait times are ridiculous for a breakfast burrito. The lines are still long because their burritos are great, but it seems their kitchen staff has bitten off more than they can chew! They now have dinner items and I'm unsure if that's the difference. In any event, I'm not a fan of having the new slow service. Everything else is the same but they need to get back to keeping it simple and consistent.

Burritos are great, coffees are so-so. Call or online order ahead and pick it up because the line is long (20-25 minutes long).

The staff was nice and they explained everything they had, which is a lot. I opted for their cold brew but I think their matcha is where it's at. I never had matcha but everyone in there were ordering them and they looked fantastic. They were made to order which I know is a good thing. The coffee was good I would order again but it wasn't life changing. What was amazing beyond belief was their pastries, they said they were all made fresh daily and they had everything from sweet to savory and all looked great. A few things that caught my eye specifically were their Egg Tarts, Custard Donuts, and their Kanafeh. I opted for the Kanafeh because you don't see this anywhere really. The Kanafeh was all that it should be. It was crispy, had a mild cheese in the center and the bottom was soaked with a honey syrup. It was topped with pistachios which added some salt to it and some crunch. I would go back just for this. I think this place is a must stop!

All 4 of us have extensive experience in the hospitality industry and appreciate the stresses. Since we are unfailingly friendly customers, as so many servers are, & because there were only 6 other customers at your coffee shop at the time, sharing our experience is warranted. We visited the Main Gate shop just after noon on Saturday, 4/18. The barista was wearing a cap & O'Neill-branded t-shirt; he has a salt & pepper beard. Requesting my cappuccino in a ceramic cup, he stated, with obvious exasperation, "You can just say 'for here'." He was also visibly irritated when we requested 3 Dirty Chais of various sizes & shot strength, as if this request was overly complicated. We would have ordered food, but he was so unwelcoming we did not. Nor did we linger. We have visited this location other times and have only been treated warmly. Clearly this barista does not represent the customer service your employees normally provide. You can train people to make a good coffee. Training them to be pleasant is more complicated & best documented. Hence, this review. An unpleasant experience like this has no place in Tucson. It's not who we are & it's not who you are either, I know. We hope this gentleman finds another line of work soon

When I finally moved, I thought the hardest part would be adding 30 minutes to my commute. It wasn't. It was losing that daily routine of walking into a place that feels so real and personal. Talega isn't just a coffee shop. It feels intimate in a way that's hard to find now. You can tell Tyler & Rene actually care. Not just about the coffee, but about the people who come in and the community around them. Nothing about it feels transactional. You're remembered, conversations matter, and it feels grounded in something genuine. Their seasonal drinks are what really set them apart. They are not cheap grabs for attention or copies of whatever is trending online. The ideas feel inspired and intentional. (Their maize latte and miso latte were perfect) You can tell there is real thought behind what they put on the menu. It reflects a level of care for the craft that is especially rare. It's been incredible to watch how far they've come since they started. They've grown without losing what makes them special, which is not easy to do. I don't live next door anymore, but I will never stop being a regular and I will never stop drinking the Maize latte (I literally dream about it).

I have to say, their drink was so good that I almost missed being at the finish line in time for my bf! Talega was so intriguing to me that I had to google what it meant. "Talega coffee is an artisanal method that uses a talega, a cotton bag traditionally used to carry coins. Over time, it was discovered that these bags were ideal for filtering coffee, giving rise to this traditional method. In addition, the word "talega" comes from Arabic and means "to hang," which refers to the original use of these bags. The bag is made of cotton, a material widely used in Mexico since ancient times, especially during the Mexica period for making clothes. Likewise, the cotton, made of 100% cotton, is a completely organic product ideal for preparing coffee. Therefore, cotton, composed of 90% cellulose, does not introduce foreign odors or flavors to the coffee and is insoluble in water." via huupa.coffee The owners, Tyler and Renee, were so wonderful. I had such a nice time chatting with them about coffee in general and what a beautiful place and concept and vibe they have at their shop! But, it also feels like you are in the lobby of a very artsy hotel. They have such creative and intriguing seasonal drinks, manzana latte, miso maple flat white, and picca latte. I didn't get a chance to try them but I got their iced matcha with oat and it was so good! Just perfect. I sent my bf and his bro here the next day and they also loved their coffee so much!
