Welcoming coffee shop, plenty of place to work or read. Upstairs was a perfect place to hang out. Very very nice staff!

We so rarely encounter attitude in Tucson, that our experience at your coffee shop on Saturday really took us aback. All 4 of us have extensive experience in the hospitality industry and appreciate the stresses. Since we are unfailingly friendly customers, as so many servers are, & because there were only 6 other customers at your coffee shop at the time, sharing our experience is warranted. We visited the Main Gate shop just after noon on Saturday, 4/18. The barista was wearing a cap & O'Neill-branded t-shirt; he has a salt & pepper beard. Requesting my cappuccino in a ceramic cup, he stated, with obvious exasperation, "You can just say 'for here'." He was also visibly irritated when we requested 3 Dirty Chais of various sizes & shot strength, as if this request was overly complicated. We would have ordered food, but he was so unwelcoming we did not. Nor did we linger. We have visited this location other times and have only been treated warmly. Clearly this barista does not represent the customer service your employees normally provide. You can train people to make a good coffee. Training them to be pleasant is more complicated & best documented. Hence, this review. An unpleasant experience like this has no place in Tucson. It's not who we are & it's not who you are either, I know. We hope this gentleman finds another line of work soon read more

A conveniently located on Congress. I've had breakfast here with friends and got coffee n pastries with friends waiting to catch the Amtrak train. They open at 7am six days a week. Today it was pretty empty being Monday and they were baking banana bread with chocolate chips; smelled amazing! Our barista got our drink out fast. Seating at ground level and in their loft. The pictures of Caffe Luce sold me- mid century/industrial loft, iron floors, wired staircase, wood beams- it's design is no doubt modern. I was excited to learn they roast their own beans. I was planning to stay a couple hours and work, so I asked about drip refills? Unfortunately not, but a 25 cent discount is given.. I ordered a cafe aulait. It was too milky for my liking. Perhaps the milk/creaminess overpowered the coffee, but to be honest, it did not hit the spot. Roasting occurs at their other location- I'd probably hit up that spot and try something else if I come back again. read more

Located in downtown Tucson, this is a great spot to start your morning. Super cool spacious industrial decor. It was fun sitting in these old vintage chairs and desks like I was in elementary school again. We had the Dirty Chai, Actez and a Matcha latte with oat. All excellent drinks! This would be a place I would not mind hitting up again and again to get my caffeine fix. We all shared two sandwiches, the panini #4 a David. They took their time making it and it came out warm. This was a great hangover cure after a good night in Tucson. Came in to a friendly staff who really seemed to enjoy their job. I simply got a latte but it was great. The big plus here was the loft, which really is pretty awesome. We sat upstairs in the loft and found it to be a private but inviting location. If I lived close this would be a great place to work remote. read more

Stopped in on a Friday morning for a little bite. The steel cut oats with fresh fruit was perfectly cooked and the fruit was very fresh. I decided to try their Italian soda and I was not disappointed, the flavors were perfectly balanced. The place overall is very chill and welcoming and has great little spots to either relax and just enjoy the street traffic as it passes by or do even some work. read more

It's been a moment since the last time I was here (2019) and I am glad that I came back. The four of us ordered various versions of the peppermint patti and all of them were very good. Cute coffee shop on the corner of Fifth and Congress. Lots of tea and coffee options as well as some pastries. Ambiance is urban-industrial with seating options both upstairs and downstairs. I tried the iced Aztec mocha latte and it was perfectly sweetened with some delicious spices added. Friendly baristas but be prepared for a little wait as they appear to get pretty busy. read more

Loved, loved, loved my experience here! Stopped by in the morning after a train ride and the Dave Sandwich hit the spot! Was thankful they put the Tapatio on the side since I don't tolerate spice well. The Azteca Mocha was delicious -- not too sweet, subtly cinnamony. If you're looking for locally roasted beans, head to the university and park location, where they do their roasting. Very excited to try the luce espresso decaf beans I just got. Love cafe lice's Mexican mocha, where I originally fell in love with Mexican mochas and now it's my order anywhere else I go. Downtown location has lots of seating options, great for studying. University location is consistently busy but if you're lucky you can probably get a seat. read more

This spot is one of my favorite coffee shops in Tucson. I have come here for all kinds of reasons- somewhere quiet to work, a first date, and a place to hang with friends. It has a great atmosphere with lots of seating options. The coffee is consistently delicious with lots of flavor options. Their good quite good too, the grilled PB&J is my favorite. The staff are SOOOOO friendly and do their best to help you have a good experience. I highly recommend this place to folks coming in town for the weekend or locals. read more

My favorite part of this coffee shop is the environment. It has urban chic vibes and the upstairs area that overlooks Congress is one of a kind. Although the furniture is not all that comfortable, the overall vibe and aesthetic is fantastic. Drinks are good. On my most recent visit with my husband and toddler daughter, we got a matcha latte, a white chocolate mocha latte, and a chocolate croissant. My matcha latte was good, although I wished I would have asked if it's sweetened at all--it's not. Not a big deal--just a healthier drink for me! My husband said his white chocolate mocha was the best he's ever had, and the chocolate croissant, while not warmed up, was delicious. My daughter loved it. I think some things could be improved. For example I wish they had 2% milk as an option and when we were there the napkin dispenser was empty. When my husband asked for some napkins it took much longer than it should have. The bathroom was not my favorite--I don't know if the graffiti tags in there are Cafe Luce endorsed or not, but it doesn't go with the rest of the vibe. Overall, though, when in the downtown area, this is a sure bet! read more

Located at the corner of Congress/Fifth Ave which places it across from The Hub and Club Congress. Great, industrial ambiance, with a high-ceilinged main floor and a cozy upstairs resulting in nifty, multiple separated seating areas. Convenient location if working or visiting downtown (but pretty much no street parking if solely coming for coffee here). Drinks encompass all that you might expect from a cafe and come in three typical sizes (12, 16, and 20 oz) and are priced similarly to other coffeehouses. Barrista didn't mention any kind of loyalty/rewards program and we couldn't find any mention on website either, so that might discourage some. read more

Really cool interior with two stories and ample study space. Electic vibe. Unusual menu offerings as well. I ordered the Aztec mocha latte, decaf, with almond milk and it was really good. However, there's only one barista who is also manning the cash register so you might be waiting a while for your drink. Also, the kitchen was closed when I got here at around 4 PM on a Sunday which was a bummer. I'm not sure when the kitchen closes, but that might be something to keep in mind if you're planning on eating here as well. read more

Eek We stopped in while going through town - but we were sorely disappointed. There were very few bakery items left at 11am. The coffee was burnt, poorly mixed, and all around not the best. We bought a few paninis and a PBJ for our kids (six dollars, good lawd). Mine was really great - the number 1, but my husband's Mediterranean one was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom is under lock and key, and even as paying customers I had to ask her a few times to grab the key. But I can see why she hesitated because the smell of shit (someone had clogged the toilet) was wafting out near those seats. Staff was helpful and friendly though, so two stars for that. It may just be my standards for cafe items, but this place is a do not return for me, especially when there are so many other options. Cool atmosphere though. read more

My boyfriend and I were driving from California to Texas and made a pit stop in Tucson for coffee. Parking: it was a bit hard to find parking. There was parking you could pay for but nothing "free." Upon entering the coffee shop, I loved how busy it was! It was around 10AM and I am obsessed with the hustle and bustle of coffee machines and baristas working. Everyone inside looked satisfied and enjoying themselves. That gave me reassurance and even excited me to order my coffee. Coffee: it was ookkkkaaaayyyy. I am a bit of a coffee snob, since I did live in SF and have traveled to Seattle quite a bit of times for coffee. There was too much milk in my coffee. It was not strong enough (personal preference), but overall, it was good. read more

Along with classic coffee drinks, they also featured alcohol laced coffee drinks, toddies, wines, beers, in-house made sangria and mimosa on their menu. Nice range of food offered--granola, oatmeal, toasts, paninis and salads. We ordered a LATTE and CAPPUCCINO, both well made, smooth, good foam. As well as had a warm GRILLED SOURDOUGH PANINI sandwich layered with fresh mozzarella slices, tomatoes, basil pesto and a drizzle of balsamic. Yummy little snack for us to share mid day! read more

A quaint little place to stop and enjoy a cuppa brew. The atmosphere is so nice inside as they play is in jazz. Just a great place to chill with your laptop, book or just to get lost in your own soul. There is also an upstairs loft which is just a special nook. I came to wait for a friend to get off of work and enjoys an Americano. And a real ceramic cup... What a lovely concept! Nothing like having coffee in a ceramic mug instead of a paper cup.
