Lunch at Baja Cafe. FOR THE WIN! I had the Southwest Brisket Benedict: smoked gouda cheese sauce, tater tots, pulled smoked brisket, jalapeno bacon, caramelized onions, bell peppers, green chilies, two poached eggs, salsa verde cruda, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli. The poached eggs were sheer perfection, yolk oozing everywhere when broken. This is a quintessential example of a perfectly balanced meal in flavors and textures. Phenomenal! The hub had the Construction Burrito: tortilla filled with 3 scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. He added jalapeño bacon, tomatoes, and onions. He isn't as open to adventure in food as I am. Service was efficient and fast. Our server asked if we needed boxes before we could ask for them; she is clearly experienced in serving the huge portions, lol. We both have lunch ready for tomorrow.

We went for breakfast this weekend and it was busy but not too busy that we had to wait too long. I love that caramelized strawberry pancake, and the berry brioche French toast with a Dutch custard is so good. Every time we go the service is just as amazing as the food. Thank you
It is a small place but the food is sooo delicious. We went here for the 1st time after my son's graduation. Although it was busy on a mid morning Tuesday, we were seated within 5 minutes of checking in. They sat us at a back table next to the window looking out towards the road. Service was fast and friendly. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. The flavors were on point and everything was cooked well. The only complaint on food was the snickerdoodle was too much sugar on top for us. There was only 1 issue when there and that was something my husband noticed because he was facing the window. They seem to have a fly problem. In one photo I took, there was a graveyard of flies just on the window. We also had some on the side of our table. I know flies can be hard to avoid and they get especially bad during summer but it was not something nice to look at (for my husband since he was facing them) while eating. Overall though the food was so good and I can see why it has the high stars.
I have had a couple of outstanding lunches here and at the Campbell location but two different, recent breakfast visits cemented a "solid" 4-star evaluation. On a late-morning Saturday we put our name down (25 minute wait) and ran a couple of pre-planned errands knowing that would likely be the case. Returned on time and our name was next. We were disappointed to learn that their famous Liege waffle was sold out (and were advised they frequently sell out by 9-ish on weekends). We got their cinnabon french toast and the day's special which was a concoction of 4-5 different proteins, including pork, shrimp, beans, bacon, eggs plus several sauces. Food took nearly 20 minutes to be delivered on this crowded wknd visit. The french toast was disappointing - literally a cinnamon roll dipped (though just barely and just on one side?) in egg batter and than pan-fried. It was painfully sweet and lacking in that notable, delectable, fully-dunked batter. The special was at first intriguing but then absolutely overwhelming with just way too many random flavors... themeless, to find a fitting word. Staff was terrific despite the fullhouse and a bottomless $2 cup of joe is a wonderful throwback. Fast forward two weeks and we made it in for their weekday early morning breakfast menu (6-8am). That included the Wyatt Earp ($10.25) with layers consisting of eggs, hash, shredded pork, beans, rice. And (not on the early morning specials) we finally got the Liege berry waffle ($18.50). Both were delivered piping hot and tasted delicious. We each got the respective sauces on the side (Hollandaise for the Wyatt and fresh creme and agave syrup for the Liege) and we were immensely glad we did so! The Wyatt barely needed any of the rich Hollandaise and the Liege was itself nicely sweet that we barely needed to even graze the waffle in the whipped cream (and none of the agave) to enjoy it. The berries were of good quality as well. Bonus, during the time we were there (roughly 7:45-8:30a) the venue was never more than half full.
Myself and my wife decided to come here for Easter breakfast. Surprisingly they were able to get us some really quickly. I ordered eggs Benedict, my wife ordered bacon, eggs, and the snickerdoodle pancake. Food was fantastic as well as the Service. The only thing I don't know if Bre should cost $60? I know people have to make money. It just seemed a little bit high for a casual breakfast place. It's definitely worth the visit. Absolutely give them a try. Maybe next time we'll go back and just get the pancake. It's very big and two people can share it easily.
We brought my hubby for his first visit to Baja. Short wait at 10:30am on a Monday for a table. The interior is colorful and cozy. Our server was terrific! Our breakfast was fast and so delicious! My hubby loved his train wreck dish. He enjoyed all the flavors. My daughter's monsoon egg Benedict was delicious. The avocado with arugula and balsamic glaze, chef's kiss! First time trying eggs Benedict and she truly enjoyed it. My son devoured his burro. It was filled with eggs potatoes, bacon, green chile and cheese. I had the pancake combo but shared the amazing pancake with my family. Eggs cooked perfectly, delicious hash browns but I don't use salt as much anymore so the bacon tasted pretty salty to me. The pancake was delicious, fluffy, sweet, crunchy. You all need to get one!
We all know this is the best place to have breakfast. I got my usual, a little savory a little sweet. The Scooby snack, an English muffin with egg, sausage and cheese is the perfect contrast to any of their pancakes. Today, I got the strawberry pancake. The crunchy caramelized sugar makes this one of my favorites.
The waitress Alexis was very great in attending me as I walked in the door and was very informative on her favorite dishes to choose from considering this was my first time here. I ordered the construction burrito and these cinnamon brioche cinnamon french toast and they were both amazing. Alexis went above and beyond and because this was my first time here, she gave me this amazing cinnamon pancake that was so good in taste and sweetness. I would highly recommend this place to everyone especially those that are not from Arizona and looking for a breakfast place to eat. I visited from California for a work trip and this was such a great experience.

Great service and over all ambiance as usual, I never feel rushed. But the star of the show was the "Oops Alexis burnt the meat" Benedict! So many flavors, everything worked together so well! Eggs perfectly poached .. just so much yum! I mean I've never had a bad meal at a Baja but this item definitely stood out!
I stop by Baja Cafe a few times a year and recently went back to visit again. Still 5/5 for flavor and price. You can't beat the cinnamon roll pancake. I also love that their breakfast plates are huge and can easily be shared. We sat on the shaded patio with the mister which was perfect since we have a new baby. Service was quick and the waitress was friendly and knowable about the dishes. We'll be back!
15 min wait with 6 chairs outside door to support your load :D. We opted for in or out and were seated outside under umbrellas next to a large a/c unit that was blowing cold air on feet and droning sound and on a cloudy day, server offered to turn off without us even asking, thx Colby, he did a magic job for our party of 5. Tried black Decaf Coffee $2.75 though he wasn't sure what it was -- excellent flavor, dark roast, clean, no burnt caramel afterburn. Cinni Roll Pancake $8 for 10"-11" was 5/5 delish, crisp on exterior and soft and puffy 1/2" thick with sweet cream cheese glaze drizzled all over. Would get that to side next time as I watch sugars but still craving another bite day after! Definitely returning just for this! $23.50 oops Alexis Burnt the Meet was just aok but split charge $1.50 and served in a bowl looks cool but eating it turns everything into a sloppy mess. Would advise avoid the charge and ask for a 2nd plate so you can better delineate flavors. Also changed tots to hash browns, avoiding the fryer, so that also made it more mushy. Burnt ends very greasy and fatty so no do over but will go for a diff plate next time. The Cinful pancake will keep you a-coming so lots of options to try next plus they didn't have waffles available so that's a must do too! read more
Friends recommended this breakfast spot and we made plans to meet up with them here. There was a short waitlist when we arrived and the restaurant erected a pop-up canopy to wait outside out of direct sun. Seating is tables and chairs (no booths) in two dining rooms. A pet friendly patio is at the back. Menus are pretty big with a variety of preconceived dishes although they seem OK with substitutions. My friend tells me they have a turkey sausage option for those who don't eat pork sausage. Our waitress was very friendly, kept our waters filled and checked in on us often. All our food was well prepared and there were plenty of left overs. My mocha cold brew was full of flavor and not too sweet with lots of that coffee flavor shining through. So glad I ordered that with the optional whipped cream on top! Thanks to our friends information we received a military discount on our order. We won't see our friends for a while and we sat at the table talking. After paying our tab the waitress let us know we could stay to visit and offered to refill our waters if wanted. Very sweet. Two gender neutral restroom are down a hallway at the back. Highchairs and booster seats are available. A pet friendly outdoor patio is at the back. Parking is in a shared lot with a handicap spot near the entrance. read more

Umm Yes! Yelp you have done it again. Thank you thank you thank you for leading me to this delicious local spot. We took a day trip to Tucson on a whim and figured we eat some Mexican food out there ! Baja cafe is the perfect place for breakfast classic with a Mexican twist! The menu is so well thought out. They honor the simple classics like waffles and eggs Benedict but add a little something special. All the ingredients are home made, like sauces and the beef; which is seasoned perfectly then slow cooked for 20 hours + ...There's so much love put in their meals!! I also had a prickly pear mimosas; dude it was deeeeelicious!! oh and the juice is fresh squeezed. Everything was really tasty and satisfying ! They even gave us a treat as a token for being a first time guest. I will be back when I'm down in Tucson! read more
Tiny hole in the wall breakfast cafe. Popular place, good thing we went early (9/5). Our waitress Angela was fantastic and gave my husband a run for his money with wisecracks. I loved it. When our food came, I totally forgot to take pictures. I had the pancake combo and you could choose from 6 different types of pancakes. The combo came with eggs, hash browns and your choice of meat and choice of pancake. My husband had the French toast combo with the difference being the french toast. He didnt realize that the French Toast was made using a cinnamon roll type bread. It ended up being too sweet. He couldnt finish it but he ate the rest. I will admit my eyes wer bigger than my stomach. I also got the Liege waffles, they looked so good. Overall, very good breakfast spot. Would go again AND probably get the same thing. read more
This place is off the charts!! Open until 2pm everyday. We had breakfast & they serve Bloody Mary's & Mimosas. (They do have a cocktail menu as well). Corned Beef & Eggs, Berry Danish French Toast, Sausage & Hash Browns. I'm not sure where to start. The Corned Beef Hash is cooked over 12hrs. The most delicious I've ever had!! Cinnamon sliced Broche bread for French Toast w/a creme, powdered sugar and loaded with fresh fruit & toppedcw/whipped cream too. Unbelievable!! Sausage perfect & top notch. But the Hash Browns were huge & again, perfectly cooked. Wash that down with a great mixed Bloody Mary's & you have all the touches on a fantastic Brunch!! Bill $67 + tip. Service was excellent as well. This is a must have on your list for breakfast in Tucson. Nobody else comes close! Thanks so much to this team here!! read more

My husband and I are traveling through Tucson and needed some food and a place to rest from driving so much. I found this place and I could eat this pancake everyday and I would not regret it. The burrito was the perfect combo. I wish I lived closer. Or maybe not. read more

I'm from out of town and the Baja Cafe came highly recommended. I happened to love breakfast, it's my favorite meal. The Baja Cafe did not disappoint. I had the true homemade corn beef & hash which I love. i drink my coffee black and it was smooth and not bitter. The service was excellent. I will differentially be back. The ambulance was, clean calm and comfortable. Not loud & noisy. Thank you Baja Cafe for a wonderful tasty experience. read more
I rarely, if ever, allow a second visit when on vacation, but this tiny,unassuming, breakfast joint earned it! The first day we had just finished a 5mile hike, so we thought it was heaven on a plate. The 2nd day we showed up less active, but with family members added and we all agreed, BEST BREAKFAST EVER! I will dream about the Alcatraz breakfast platter! That was the most amazing flavors of perfectly seasoned yum, I've ever tasted. Thank goodness, my kiddos ordered the Cinnamon Roll pancake and the Pineapple Express. Both, were to die for! We need a Baja here in KCMO. Amazing, worth the wait! read more

A small local brunch spot with large portion. There's a reason why people will wait in 100 degree weather to eat here. It was my first time and it was worth the wait. I ordered the eggs and pancake combo with snickerdoodle pancake. My MIL ordered build your own omelette. We got a free pancake for the table because it was my first time and picked the lemon blueberry pancake. While my eggs and bacon were simple, the pancakes stole the show. The snickerdoodle was my favorite because I love cinnamon. The lemon blueberry is perfect for summer and is a delicious combination. read more

Waited about 20m on a Sunday which wasn't bad. They have water, chairs and shade outside which is nice. We were seated inside. I brought my friends here who just moved to Tucson and really hyped this place up cause I've always enjoyed it and I told them about the free pancake for first timers, but they didn't get one even though they stated they were new to town and it was their first time. Our server was great. I got an omelette and it was cooked perfectly, with yummy toast and great hash browns. read more

Ranked No. #34 on Yelp's list Their Lemon Blueberry Pancakes with that ridiculously yummy house-made lemon curd in the middle is insanely good. They take fluffy flapjacks to a whole other level. It was so moist I wanted to slap myself to see if I was dreaming. You can order small or large. Large is just another layer. A small can feed 2 people. I was in serious food coma afterwards. My son had the Train Wreck and even though it looked like a hot mess (hence the name of this dish) each bite had you wanting more. It had a nice kick to it. It comes with a crispy hash brown and woww wow wow, this one item will make you want to come here again and again. Super popular brunch spot with constant patrons coming and going. You get a lot for your buck, I saw many people taking the leftovers home. Come hungry!! Our server, Connor, was very polite and I appreciate all the recommendations. read more
