I was here on Monday evening. They have a jazz band playing live music from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. These guys are great and are associated with the national award winning Tucson Jazz Institute. Every Monday night. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara. Wow! White sauce, bacon--yes bacon!--and peas. Yeah...peas. It actually worked quite well. The peas were a good complimentary flavor and texture. The whole thing was amazingly good. And the toast on ciabatta was perfect! Light toasty crunch on the outside with butter and garlic and nice fluffy bread on the inside. Youi can even order a side of this lovely bread. Since the jazz was outside, this is where I dined. It was chilly out but they had gas bonfires going that made it comfortable. I think the waitress was the only one working for both outside (where I dined and listened to the band) and inside, so I didn't get checked on as often as I would have liked. I had to get up and get my own drink refill from the bar, but I don't fault her. She was pleasant serving us. I recommend this restaurant and the Monday night jazz is a bonus. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I think, overall, this is an okay hotel bar, but emphasizing on hotel bar. Here's the good - The food menu is vast and is impressive, the staff seem to be friendly, and it's a nicely styled design with indoor and outdoor dining space, but, and pivoting to the not so great, during my stay, the staff appeared low energy and eager to give you your check. What I mean here is, the service was satisfactory, but I'm not inclined to stay or hang out - the vibe was more of a silent encouragement to move along. Be aware for travelers, according to Arizona state law, you cannot bring any outside purchased alcoholic beverage in the gazebo, patio, or in the pool area. The staff stated you cannot bring any beverage they sold you on this property into the pool area either, which conflicted with signage. Overall, I'd describe the few times I visited during my stay as, "so-so" or "fine, but would rather find somewhere else." read more

At first glance The Glowbal restaurant at the Sheraton Tucson, a Marriott asset, appears to be very much like any other generic duplication of usual, ubiquitous and very basic standardized and extremely ultra-modern hotel restaurants. With its common tables and chairs, drab décor, universal motifs, morning breakfast commonalities, the open huge windows to view parts of the property, and the comings and goings of the welcoming staff hustling back and forth devotedly and courteously helping customers out. But there is a big but! A but that thoroughly surprised me. First, a close look at the restaurant's menu is a little surprising. They offer an array of international-style dishes that is most uncommon to hotel eateries and although not a huge menu by any means the offerings we tried during our stay were well prepared, professionally displayed, very, very well-done facsimiles of more authentic possibilities elsewhere - and most importantly, tasty. From their American Classic Shrimp Cocktail to Middle Eastern style Falafel Appetizer, to their Seafood Tacos or the Bronx Pastrami and the Border Burger to the Calypso Salmon shows the kitchen's skill and impetus of putting out an amazingly different yet appetizing gastronomic ensemble. Kudos to the management, staff and cooks behind the scenes for offering such an array of goodies, heretofore almost unseen or experienced at most hotels. read more

YELPies.. this restaurant and bar is inside the Tucson Sheraton. It is a cute little spot that serves some really good food. Breakfast is included with your stay here but, the dinner menu serves some great food as well. Tipping your server is as easy as scanning a QR code and there ya go. However, I'm old school and tip my servers and personally say thank you for the great service. The service is welcoming and delightful every time. Truthfully, I always come here when the Jazz band is playing during dinner. It is a great time and they take requests. Total Score 3/5 Food/Beverage (1/3) - The presentation, look, and freshness of most ingredients are what gives this at least a 1 out of 3 stars for me. What drops the two other stars are the lack of flavor and the garlic seemed to be the only thing old. The food could have used a bit more salt and spices, it relied too much on the natural flavors which was lacking. The garlic in our Hummus Platter was old and we could tell because the garlic was over potent and spicy as can be. The wife's Pasta Carbonara was probably the best item we had, it did have good flavor and was plenty to share if you're not starving. I had the Paella which was large enough for 3 people but was bland. I add a squeeze of lemon for taste, but definitely was lacking in flavor. Finally, to drink I had a Vodka Martini standard with 3 olives; hard to mess that one up. Service/Staff (1/1) - No complaints here. It wasn't busy when we arrived, so the 1 server and 1 bartender were able to take care of us. They were polite and attentive to us. Location (1/1) - This one is interesting because it is a really nice, well kept restaurant, but it is located within the Sheraton Tucson Hotel & Suites. If you are not staying at the hotel you have to enter through a side entrance, go through a lobby, then you'll be able to enter the restaurant. Restaurant inside the Sheraton. As a Marriott guest, my expectations were far higher and I am very disappointed. Staffing issues prevented the restaurant from opening either night of our stay. I tried to go for breakfast on the 1st day to no avail. Door was open but server said she was closed. Tried again the 2nd day; sat at the bar. Same server started barking the menu at me; nothing printed? She said the menu was very limited. I asked if I had to memorize it without even a cup of coffee first? She marched off. I marched out. Too bad this place is hidden in the Sheraton Hotel! This place is pretty darn good and is consistent. I've stayed at the Sheraton a few times for work and usually end up at the Glowbal for dinner. The place is usually not that busy and they have happy hour until 7. The HH menu has around five bar snacks for under $7 and deals on drinks of course. The full menu is very cool and it actually glows. There is a wide variety to choose from such as pizza, burgers, sandwiches and full plates. I have tried the salmon and the curry chicken. Both are delicious. I also like their tots. So crunchy and good. The only thing they can improve is the ambiance. They need to get this place poppin. What a cute little hidden gem! I would not have expected this from a hotel restaurant in town. There's a full bar and the menu has a variety of options that sound tasty. We sat inside and ordered onion rings, fish & chips, Sonoran enchiladas, butter cake & chocolate cake. All was DELICIOUS!! Ivan was our server and he is fantastic! He was attentive, suggested items on the menu and was very friendly. The fish breading is light & flaky, the fish is moist - juicy, even! The enchiladas are flavorful with the perfect amount of tomatillo in the sauce. It's fresh and modern. You have to walk through the lobby to the center of the property near the pool. Signs lead directly to the Glowbal. The pool looks nice and the restaurant patio is situated right next to it. The atmosphere is comfortable and laid back. I've been to other hotel restaurants in town and this one is definitely at the top of my list. We'll be back. I have to try the rest of the menu! read more

Had the angus burger which was wonderful and able to have a side salad as an alternative to the French fries. The salad was lovely and loaded with cucumbers and the dressings were delicious. This past week we enjoyed a Yelp event at the Glowbal. The event was five stars. The staff was eager to introduce us to a preview of the food created for this exciting new destination on Grant Road. The service was superb. Here's what I enjoyed: Delicious watermelon salad, sweet potato fries, fried Brussels Sprouts and freshly cut celery and carrots with delicious dips. There were asparagus fries, wings, hamburger sliders and mini cheesecake deserts. There's a nice bar and a couple private rooms and a decent size main room big enough to mingle and dance. I ate here twice during my recent stay in Tucson, both times for dinner. The food was flavorful, and the waitstaff was friendly. Only ding was that they overcooked my steak and made no effort to fix it. I ordered medium rare and received well done. However, the bit of steak that I did eat was seasoned nicely, and they gave me some peppercorn sauce to dunk in it which helped a little bit. Next time, I just won't order steak and will stick to something like an appetizer or sandwich. read more

I met the lead chef last night. He came out to ask how I found the special as we was considering adding it to the main menu. It was a glazed pork chop with a mushroom spatzle that was perfect. I tried some appetizers and even the French fries were too damn good. I went back again tonight for the lasagna and, once again, the food was fantastic. The portions are perfect. The flavors are refined and curated. There's not too much or too little of anything. There's nothing gimmicky about what's offered. I can't say I've ever had better, more consistent meals at a restaurant and the fact that the chef takes the time to continue to refine and hone his creations is a testament to him in his field and to whomever found him and brought him on. read more

Absolutely wonderful place to unwind after a long day at work. I've had the privilege of becoming a "regular" here and getting to know the staff. Behind the bar Sergio and Sarrah are extremely pleasant, attentive and easy to carry on a conversation. Kenny is just amazing in the kitchen so that every meal is delicious and hot. His soups and special dishes are a must try. Pierre, the GM, was always kind and helpful and I saw him jump in and help with everything from making coffee to serving tables. I am so glad that I was able to make this my go to for dinner for 24 weeks of this past year and you can bet that I'll be back! read more

I like staying at this Sheraton while traveling in business for many reasons. I use the Marriott Bonvoy app to book. Though the room cost was the same for here as the Westin LaPaloma, I knew that the Westin would add a resort charge and that food and drinks would be much more expensive. The rooms here at the Sheraton have been redone with excellent features-comfy bed, nice linens, lots of outlets and lighting options. "The Glowbal" restaurant/bar onsite is great. On Monday nights the local high school jazz bands perform on the patio from around 6-9:30 pm. I travel alone for business and feel very comfortable sitting at the bar here to get some food and catch up on work. Though they have room service, it's nice to get out of the room, without driving, and grab a bite while I work. Gemma is a very sweet bartender. Sunset it was over 100 degrees here I didn't want a big or heavy meal. She served me the seasonal vegetables served raw with ranch dipping sauce for a 10pm late snack. They are open until 11 and you can get a drink to take back to your room. The front of the house staff is also excellent, offering to help with luggage and sharing the rules and services at the hotel. I prefer this location to the A-loft due to the superior service, comfort and bar/restaurant on site. read more

Stay away from this place. Food service is extremely slow. Yelp says this is good for kids, but we have 2 kids and have waited for over 1 hour and are still waiting for our dinner. The place is half empty. We were told our food would be out in 10 minutes. 10 minutes later, we were told 10 minutes again. Definitely hurts the Starwood and Marriott reputation. read more

i am staying at the sheraton for a couple days for work! we went to get breakfast the first morning since it was $10 for a hot breakfast. there is only 1 item of choice per day which isnt terrible but we sat and had to basically ask multiple times to even get a server and then waited 45 minutes to never get the food. there were not even 4 other tables of people it was COMPLETELY empty. horrible service we just went to the ihop next door which is supposed to have bad service, yet was much better than this place! do not come here i would not recommend it! read more

Best Happy Hour I have seen in years! I have traveled for many years and have been to quite a few Happy Hours. The service was excellent. The food was excellent! Really rude service. We came on business last month (six of us) and the restaurant supervisor, a heavier set middle-aged man with a beard, refused to give us any wine unless it was Chilean. I kept saying I wanted a Napa wine but he insisted over and over again on some random off-brand Chilean nonsense and snickered at us then said "If you don't like what we have to offer there is an IHOP across the parking lot". We were pretty aghast! I think I heard another employee call out his name as "Victor" and he wasn't wearing a name badge so I'm not completely certain. Regardless, I would avoid this place. If management encourages this kind of behavior who only know what the support staff of the restaurant does that we don't know about! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

Great Happy Hour prices and specials. The bartender, Gemma, is awesome! This place just reopened after a full renovation, and it's nice to have a place like this right next door to Tucson Medical Center. If you work at TMC or are just visiting a loved one in the hospital, I highly recommend that you stop by for a bite to eat and a ice cold beverage.
