Seared Skuna Bay Salmon
Mandy T.

I came here for dinner last night and sat in the Audubon bar since there was live piano music. I ordered dinner from the main dining room though so I will review the main dining room here. The seared ahi tuna appetizer was a little spicy and it was delicious but I forgot how tiny the portions are for their appetizers. I would suggest ordering an appetizer for each person. The Seared Skin Bay Salmon didn't have much flavor on its own, but at least it wasn't fishy. I did not like the fried avocado, I would prefer it uncooked. But all the accompaniments when mixed with the salmon made the bite taste good. My dining companion ordered the Filet mignon steak frites medium well so I can't really judge it since I like it medium rare. It didn't taste like it had much flavor though. I did not like the sauce (veal reduction) they drizzled over the fries, it tasted burnt. I'm sad they no longer have the duck I loved last time, but that was years ago. I recommend trying the Hemingway Daiquiri. It was so good.

Every part of this meal was marvelous. We were seated quickly at a beautiful outdoor patio that provides a pretty view of the unique Inn in which the restaurant is. The ambiance was fantastic with the sunny weather outside and live piano for the indoor area. I ordered a fish special and it was amazing. The servers were responsive and helped make this a special place to grab a bite to eat. The plating was breathtaking and the cook of the fish and flavor of the meal screamed elegance. It wasn't the cheapest place in Tucson, but if you are staying here you have to try this restaurant out. There are less expensive, more basic options on the menu, but any special is absolutely worth a shot.

We have always wanted to stay at the historic Arizona in so we took advantage of the end of summer off season rates for a two-day getaway. We were greeted warmly by a very personable young woman, Emma who made us feel very welcomed. This morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast which was served by the delightful Bri, so friendly and genuinely warm and attended to us very efficiently. Warm and genuine is the theme of the personnel here. The grounds and furnishings really transport you back in time. Now we will go enjoy the pool before it gets too hot.

The Arizona Inn is a Tucson tradition and beautiful historic property, their grounds are well maintained, and the inn itself is a fun step back in time. A fun place to recommend for out of town visitors who would opt to stay local instead of at a chain hotel if they want to be near The University or Central Tucson. If you're not staying at the hotel you can still dine on their patio. On my visit, I enjoyed their turkey sandwich more than other hotels I've eaten at. Some of my friends were underwhelmed with their entrees like the chicken sandwich but we chalked it up to the fact that dining at the Arizona Inn is more for the experience than food. Like many hotel restaurants, entrees are on the more expensive side so just be prepared for that!

Food was good. Service was fair but they did not honor a gift card saying it expired. I would never buy a gift card again from them.

It ain't pretty.... When you walk through the front door, you're greeted by the scents of stale cigarette smoke and Fabuloso. The decor is something out of the mid 60's. It's a very fun, unpretentious place. Good service, fun drinks and a great escape from our crazy world. Check it out!

It's kitsch and offbeat, maybe even offputting if you think too hard about the legacy of that family, but it's anything but boring. What I love: They're big on doing their own infusions. You absolutely must try Pam's Spicy Lemonade--Hornitos with thai chili and mint. I've also had coffee-infused liquors here before that you'll rarely find anywhere else. I'm not a smoker, but I get stoked for their enclosed smoking patio with a couple old arcade cabinets (I like Centipede!) What I like: There are like, really cheap simple cocktails with the creativity to make some unappealing, bottom shelf liquors taste palatable. Those aren't my usuals, but I'm always intrigued. I will shamelessly have a couple $3 High Lifes. There's only one big bar in the center of the lobby, but service is generally fast. It's dimly lit and can be tightly packed, but you'll still have fun. Good for date night or groups of four or less. No food, but once in a blue moon you'll find a truck parked out front. Overall, a solid Tucson staple.

The drinks are definitely on the unique side, but the bartender I had was very accommodating in if we didn't like it, just let her know. I can't remember the drink I had but it was pleasantly good. My friends 1st drink, wasn't it, so the bartender made a Mai tai which was much better. Overall, I loved the chill vibes, it's a good spot to either start your evening, or just have a lowkey night. It's a fun and also elegant atmosphere with the zebra theme clearly exemplified across the space. I would have to say this is one of the coziest bars I've been to, the furniture and seating is really supportive of a long-term visit. There are other levels, lower and an upper level besides the main space, but be aware that if there are parties, they can typically take up different areas. Our bartender, Sarah was fantastic! The way that she handled all of the guests and the busy field was incredible, so calm and collected, and furthermore making some really incredible drinks. Heads up that the online drink menu is not the current drink menu, I couldn't remember all the names of our drinks and put those in the photo captions, so when I checked on the website, the menu was showing something different other than what I saw at the bar. Out of several places I've been to, I'd say the mixture of flavors and details in the drinks are quite unique. I'll be back for more one day

We were greeted by a giant statue of a unicorn zebra and of course took a selfie. We then went to the bar area and absolutely loved the dark speakeasy vibes. Burk, the handsome man with a shiny head, was at the bar. He handed us a drink menu that contained fun drink names like Death of a Unicorn. The drinks tasted good and had a lovely presentation. Mine even came in a zebra mug. We also learned that this bar has both an upstairs and downstairs area. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and headed home. This place left such an impression that we have been back two times since. On another occasion we had Nate the bartender. He had a lovely personality and accommodated all of the guests that came in near closing. We enjoyed Santa's Banana Hammock and Unicorn Ski Accident. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem. I look forward to seeing where this place goes. It has a ton of potential for special events with the basement area. P.s. It's also a boutique hotel. You could always book a room and enjoy dreams downstairs without having to drive

We came here because we wanted to play pool one night and Pockets had a tournament going on. We were originally 3 out of the 5 people in the bar (one bartender and one other dude who may or may not have worked there- but kept going into the back room). It was SO quiet which I found oddly unsettling lol. The only way there would be any sound other than our voices was to pay money to play music ourselves and I dropped way too much money to keep it going while we were there. Next, the bartender was odd to us...In some weirdly pretentious way. To be fair, we all do look young and people tend to treat us as such when we go out. However, he was so condescending about everything. I asked for a drink and he corrected me on how to order it-but not in a helpful way? More like he was annoyed with me. I turned 21 almost 15 years ago. I order the same drinks and have never been told that a bartender doesn't understand what I'm asking for- even if I don't use the proper bartending terminology. My roommate asked for a vodka redbull and the bartender made some weird comment about this not being one of our "hipster bars" like ??? I drink vodka red bulls in literal biker bars. We prefer smaller, low-key bars. It was such a strange and judgmental thing to say. He basically talked to US as if we thought we were too good for that place? Idk it's really hard to explain. But it left a horrible taste in our mouths. A couple came in a while before we left and seemed to be friends of the bartender- which somehow made the vibe even more uncomfortable. It's as if they all wanted us to leave. It's so weird to make your literal ONLY paying patrons feel so awkward and unwelcome. Dude needs a serious attitude adjustment. The a-hole bartender theme is out dated. That's just bad business. It's one thing to be busy and short with people when you're serving a full bar; that's usually expected, but you don't have to be a jerk to the only three people in the place lol.
