Street corn salad with chicken. So yum w spicy chipotle ranch.

We decided to have a light dinner and we're not disappointed! The street corn salad is incredibly yummy and side salad is also a really nice healthy portion. Folks a really nice here and it's reasonably priced.

It was a very warm day and I was thirsty for some cold beer and a cool place to sit. I entered the saloon and bellied up to the bar. I was greeted by Jessica, the bar tender who served me a mini pitcher of beer. The beer was cold and refreshing. My wife had a vodka drink which was made exactly how she ordered it. The saloon was alive with people who were playing pool and flinging darts. Country and Western.music was playing on the touch tunes jukebox. Wow! Was a great little honky tonk! There is no food, but you can buy a bag of chips. When I am back in Tucson, this place is on my list. It's a great place with a good vibe.

My friends and I looked at the draft beers. Not much other than the usual dive bar brands. We ordered bottled beer, and sat down to get a vibe. Several people that walked in were greeted by the bar tender, and she did not pay much attention to us once we got our beer. Seemed the people that were regulars got most of the attention. I get that...but there was an opportunity to have three more regulars, and I feel like that opportunity was missed. We drank our beer, and left. I may try this place again at some point...but there are a lot of other dive bars that embrace new customers.

I have been sitting on this review for a bit because I actually hate leaving bad reviews. But maybe…read morethis will help save someone else the trouble/disappointment of going to this bar.. We came here because we wanted to play pool one night and Pockets had a tournament going on. We were originally 3 out of the 5 people in the bar (one bartender and one other dude who may or may not have worked there- but kept going into the back room). It was SO quiet which I found oddly unsettling lol. The only way there would be any sound other than our voices was to pay money to play music ourselves and I dropped way too much money to keep it going while we were there. Next, the bartender was odd to us...In some weirdly pretentious way. To be fair, we all do look young and people tend to treat us as such when we go out. However, he was so condescending about everything. I asked for a drink and he corrected me on how to order it-but not in a helpful way? More like he was annoyed with me. I turned 21 almost 15 years ago. I order the same drinks and have never been told that a bartender doesn't understand what I'm asking for- even if I don't use the proper bartending terminology. My roommate asked for a vodka redbull and the bartender made some weird comment about this not being one of our "hipster bars" like ??? I drink vodka red bulls in literal biker bars. We prefer smaller, low-key bars. It was such a strange and judgmental thing to say. He basically talked to US as if we thought we were too good for that place? Idk it's really hard to explain. But it left a horrible taste in our mouths. A couple came in a while before we left and seemed to be friends of the bartender- which somehow made the vibe even more uncomfortable. It's as if they all wanted us to leave. It's so weird to make your literal ONLY paying patrons feel so awkward and unwelcome. Dude needs a serious attitude adjustment. The a-hole bartender theme is out dated. That's just bad business. It's one thing to be busy and short with people when you're serving a full bar; that's usually expected, but you don't have to be a jerk to the only three people in the place lol.

That's how I found Louie's Cantina, and I'm so glad I did. We have two cars now, but I still make the Thursday drive every single week to celebrate the end of my work week since I'm off Friday and Saturday. There is just something about ending the week with a cold beer and a Mexican Candy shot with bartender Vinnie that makes life a little better. I can't say enough good things about this place. Louie, the owner, comes in from time to time, and you always know when he arrives because you hear his voice as he walks in. He says hello to everyone, is genuinely friendly, and clearly takes a lot of pride in his bar. And the Mexican Candy shots? So good. They come in all kinds of delicious flavors, and I still can't decide whether I like cucumber or mango better. I especially love that mine comes in a little snifter glass so I can sip it along with my beer. Speaking of beer, it is always cold, which matters! Vinnie is one of those bartenders who can talk about just about anything, from food to music, and he is just an all-around great person. The music is good, and they also have an AMI digital jukebox, so you can play songs right from the app, which makes it even more fun. Louie's Cantina is friendly, welcoming, and just a great place to unwind. What started as a way to kill time turned into one of my favorite spots of the week.

I would had hoped that by them knowing that there would be a good amount of people watching the game they would have been prepared. They were not. I really felt bad for the servers in the back dining room. And an hour and a half food wait? After getting our food that was obviously already cold & probably waiting at expo, I just stopped with expectations. I understand that it gets busy but, this was poorly planned. I think after some time the server just gave up and never came back. We just started going up to the bar ourselves. Maybe, next time... there would be better planning for events such as this.

The inside is huge and you would not realize this when driving by. They have pool tables and plenty of TVs to watch sports. We happy to come in on a Friday when they had 75 cent wings so we ordered those. Beer prices were good and not too crazy. I did have a few issues. It seems to be extremely difficult for the bartenders to look around and check up on their customers. Several times I tried to get the attention of the bartenders with no luck. I would say excuse me, wave my hands, they just don't look up at their customers. We got our wings and they were good size wings but the BBQ sauce was just ok. Reminded me of that cheap stuff you can get from Kraft. We got one little tray to discard the bones and we had gotten maybe halfway through and the bartender threw it away and didn't replace with a new one. I ended going to the popcorn machine and grabbing a tray so I can discard the rest of the bones. So yeah mediocre service inside. We finally moved to the outside bar and that's really where it is living and so many TVs. My favorite spot in the evoke bar and the bartenders are much more attentive. I like this place and I want to go back as I had a good time for the most part. It's a nice little neighborhood bar.
