What a fantastic place, it's not really big check with the bartender if they have room that night. Look at the cell phone number goes directly to his cell number. Try the dealers choice, he'll ask you a few questions about what you want and a magical drink will come out. read more

The Still Speakeasy - Speakeasies Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

So I've been to this part of Vero Amore's one time for high tea. I think it's even better as a speakeasy. Love the wall of chianti bottles that lead to the bar and love that the staff dress up in casual Prohibition garb. Came here for girl's night and it was everyone's first time even at the restaurant but mine. I'd had dinner a couple times in the restaurant for my birthday and had the cheese wheel fettuccine alfredo. I asked if anyone was interested in trying it and so 3 of us split it which ended up being pretty perfect. It is hands down THE BEST fettuccine alfredo. We had many drinks come to our table, the first round being the homemade limoncello. Made with local Meyer lemons, it is deliciously potent. A must try. The bartender, Ryan or Brian, he made cocktails from the heart. A couple of gals ordered "dealer's choice" drinks and they were inspired by the drinker's stories. It was really a unique experience for them and I could almost see his mind working out the chemistry of the libations. Another must try, although I didn't because I had to drive myself home. I did have a coffee with Bailey's, Amaretto, and freshly-made whipped cream. Last must try if not on a coffee drink maybe on a dessert. One person in our party thought that the drinks were on the spendy side. Many of the ingredients were house made and all top shelf. I'm from Los Angeles so an $18 drink was a normal night at the klerb. Worth mentioning if that would be a deal breaker. Worth a go. I thought it was better than the speakeasy at the Sonoran House which was too bright and not intimate. You really like feel more like you're not where you're supposed to be at The Still. There is a curio cabinet with cigars that I think are for sale. The speakeasy opens up to the patio for all the smoke suckers. Great for a small groups or date night, maybe not the first date. read more

When you walk in, it doesn't look like much. But don't let that keep you away. The bartender is brilliant at making drinks if you want something off menu. The food is absolutely delicious. We know what we're having next time. Either eat at the restaurant and use the drink menu in the menu or go to the speakeasy and enjoy a slightly different drink menu and the same food. We will be back. read more

Came here to have a nightcap. We love this place because it is a speakeasy and you have to be let into the bar. The bartender is very friendly outgoing and it will even make you what he calls a dealer's choice. We like to sit outside on the patio is very nice cool evening just enjoy enjoying my while. I'm in the schnapps beverage. Will definitely be back. read more

I absolutely love coming to The Still. I love getting a Dealer's Choice. This where the bartenders ask you different we questions on what you like and a drink comes out. I am never disappointed. I am so excited for the upcoming pizza night, where you can eat unlimited amount of pizza for only $20. I am also excited for Italy tea in July. Tiapy tea is my absolute favorite event they do back in the still. Every drink comes in tea cups and they infuse local tea around Tucson. I hope they have the hibiscus drink again. read more

The drinks were amazing in the small, private speakeasy. However, the service was absolutely horrible. Who has ever heard of going to a speakeasy for several hours and only getting two drinks!? The bartender was the only one there and he was overwhelmed. Super nice, had a terrific personality. But it could NOT make up for the service. In talking to others, they had the same experience. Cool place if you want to wait, and wait and wait to be served. read more

I love a good speakeasy and this was close to my house. I requested a reservation early Saturday night, received a text confirmation, and waited in our area. Our mixologist, Robert, led us to the secret door. There was a small indoor seating area and an outdoor area with lighting. The focus is the bar and the top shelf alcohol they serve. I thought the speakeasy was fairly new and found out that it's been around 11 years! Robert was great, knowledgeable, and tells dad jokes. If you are adventurous, try the weekly special and the dealer's choice. You can also order the full menu from Vero Amore. read more

This place is SO cool. It's a true speakeasy, hidden in the back of a restaurant. It has a large patio area with space heaters and a smaller indoor seating area. The coolest part is that the bartenders are able to expertly craft custom cocktails based on whatever your heart desires (pop culture, a vibe, a certain taste, etc.) Watch out though, the drinks can be expensive and rack up quick. read more

Much more elaborate than other speakeasies in the are. We were directed by text to stand in a specific area of the restaurant. We were greeted by staff and brought to an area far from the regular dining floor and through ran inconspicuous wall. The bartender was very knowledgeable and was able to make curated drinks from our taste needs. The restaurants full menu was also above which was nice. There was a nice sitting area outdoors with fire pits however we did not have jackets to weather the 40 degrees so maybe next time. The music was instrumentals 60's to 80's which was fun. Would come again. read more

Great speakeasy. Ok food & service. Great attitudes! Give it a go for small groups. Great whiskey selection!

We love to stop at The Still every time we visit Tucson. It's a neat little spot. The resident bartender, Robert, has the perfect personality for this job. He knows his drinks, makes them with perfection and pride. Is there something that is not on the drink menu that you'd like? Robert has got you taken care of. So why a 3 star rating you ask?...it's because of neglect. We like to sit outside on the patio, partly because we can enjoy a cigar with our cocktail. The patio has become run down and dirty. It's a storage place for extra furniture and firewood for the pizza oven. The sofas that they have are dirty and broken down. (see pic) Tables are left dirty and not bussed. Just have a busser drop by every 15 minutes, it would be a big first step. I have no problem spending $20 a pop for a good cocktail, which Robert provides, but you need to give me a decent atmosphere to enjoy it. Get rid of the crap on the patio...replace the furniture, look at the lighting, maybe a plant or two. The Still's patio could be awesome...but it's hurting. By the way, the inside bar could use a little cleaning as well. read more

The Still Speakeasy - Speakeasies Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Definitely an experience! The ambiance of course is very cool, just how you'd expect a speakeasy to be. Robert was working when we went, and he was great to chat with. He shared his knowledge of the bar, and spirits in general throughout the night. The drinks are definitely more expensive than we are used to, though they are very creative and a labor of love. What's cool is that they have a rotating menu and make their own bitters and syrups in-house which also makes it something special. Worth a try, definitely! read more

We love a good speakeasy and the Still was no exception! From the reservation request process, to the arrival and seating - it was prohibition meets 21st century. Robert is some kind of cocktail wizard constructing creations that will have all of your senses exploding with intrigue! I started with a drink on the menu but gave him the heads up I'd want a Dealers Choice after. His response "heard". And heard it was- my next crafted cocktail was exactly what I was craving. We ordered a plate of fried ravioli from the restaurant and it was tasty enough we will have to go for a full meal next time. If you're looking for a great date night with an old school twist- this is a great bet! read more

The bartender is exceptionally knowledgeable and fixes great drinks. Great hidden location and atmosphere.

Rude as how they treated a couple return customers! The still Years ago, my husband and I found this quaint little speakeasy, and the people were so excited to have us and to see us but this was not the case this last time we visited. This is a reservation only, although I was excited to see the woman from years ago, she couldn't really give a dilly that I was there. Needless we didn't have a reservation and after that treatment, I was glad! Maybe sometimes a pretending goes a long way, for Christ sake, we sought this place out after 4 years ago! Just a warm greeting would've been perfect. LIKE, thanks for stopping by. It was nice to see you again! read more

We were so excited that we finally got a reservation at this place after trying a few times! We finally made it! While we were properly seated and greeted, the rest was downhill. I know it's Tucson in June but man can you please turn down your ac, it was really uncomfortable in there! Don't sit at the bar by the outside seating because you will be blasted by the outside heat! We ordered a special and a drink from the menu....both super sweet and quite unpleasant. Because we wanted to give them another try, my hubs ordered an old fashioned, again all syrup....no taste. Super disappointed....sorry...I really wanted to love you! read more

Went in early January 2025. My partner and I were visiting friends, who happened to be friends with one of the bartenders, Robert. I'm not big on alcohol, the bite really gets to me. It's rare for me to have even a single cocktail in a month. I had to stop myself from getting more than two. Settled for a mocktail as my third drink. All were delicious, haven't had any cocktails as good as I got here before or since. It was really cold out, but luckily, they have fire pits in the back! The decor was great, the service was fantastic, and I find myself disappointed in the fact that I live a few states away. Definitely going to be on the list of places to return to whenever we next end up in Tucson. read more

My husband and I have lived in Tucson for several years and had never been here! We stumbled upon this place on a busy Saturday night. The dim lighting and speakeasy vibes, coupled with the highly entertaining and hilarious bartenders Cassandra and Robert made this a unique and special experience. I got the Flumph which is their take on a mimosa. It was a delight and I appreciated the hints orange blossom. My husband got the Cloak of Rohan which was orange bitter forward and a definite "sipper," as it was very strong. When we noticed they had yellow chartreuse (a rare liquor find), we ordered a cocktail off the menu called Naked & Famous. A lesser known cocktail, but Cassandra was able to make it and it was our favorite drink of the night. One last thing to note is that both bartenders are creative experts in craft cocktail making and we're serving up "dealers choice" drinks all night which were unique. If you're open to trying something innovative, this is the place to check out! (Just let them know if you have any specific liquor preferences) read more

I have been there twice and each time Robert the bartender is informative, knowledgeable, really enjoys his work, mixes fabulous cocktails and treat each customer with respect and friendliness. I like that it is a true speakeasy and Robert will make you a drink of your choice or give him your tastes and what you like and he will custom make a drink for you. Robert is Amazing and a joy to have at the Still Speakeasy. I will be going again for sure. read more

I cannot say enough good things about The Still. It's my group's go to place for birthdays as a special treat. Is it cheap? No- but also it shouldn't be relative to the quality you are receiving. The dynamic duo who run it are brilliant mixologists who use high quality ingredients, including house made liqueurs. It's clear they love their job and their craft. I believe they still have their own app menu, but you can also order from Vero's full menu. read more

We loved our time at The Still and will definitely be back! Robert, the head bartender, made us feel right at home and served us personalized drinks that tasted amazing. The drinks were very reasonably priced for a cocktail, I would even say cheap for the ingredients and quality. The atmosphere is more homey, and the bartenders are all super friendly. The main man here is absolutely AWESOME- he's so passionate about his craft from the technical infusions he makes behind the scenes. Really nice guy and entertaining with his themed outfit. Cocktails were incredibly tasty- the caprese-inspired martini was the winner for me...... but damn, put a proper garnish on your $~20+ cocktails, please!! 3/4 of the drinks we got did not have any garnish and that is just lazy and lacks detail. read more

Disappointing. Yes, it's tucked away from the restaurant, however; limited seating which tables are close in proximity. No live music, overpriced specialty drinks with decent food from the restaurant. Little ambiance with dressed wait staff. Not impressed! read more

Overpriced on the drinks and cigars. Example the cheapest cigar is $14.99 and you can order this cigar for $4.99 online. The drinks range from $18.99 and up. They do not serve a full drink where other local bars are more generous. read more

This place feels like someone from Tucson went to a big city, saw a cool thing, and tried to replicate it in a town that doesn't understand what a speakeasy is. It appears they took a back, unusable room, painted it a dark color, and slapped up a kitschy sign and called it good. The pros: my drink was good. But in a limited information menu, we only come to find out later that it was $18. You can order off the full restaurant menu, but based on what we had (6 tiny fried ravioli pieces rolling around an otherwise empty plate with massive, seemingly off the shelves ranch and marinara cups for $14) we likely won't be returning to the main restaurant. Cons: My wife's mocktail, overly sweet at best, was $10. Granted it's summer in Tucson, but it was 87 degrees back there, wedged between the kitchen and exposed patio doors. In asking about why it was so warm we were told that's the best the AC could do. The service was over the top unnecessary. The female bartender actively interrupted the entire table's conversation anytime she wanted to make her presence known. She actively complained about the place, the management, the restaurant, and even when she was behind the bar, her inside voice just chatting with her coworker was the loudest thing in the bar. It has potential. Different time of year, maybe. But a far cry from anything special as it currently stands. And plan to walk out with a hefty bill. read more

This place was an absolutely wonderful experience. I went as one, originally making a reservation for 9pm on Saturday during the Halloween weekend. I ended up changing my plans, and requested to reschedule earlier. They were able to fit me in at 7pm, and I'm so glad I went then. It wasn't packed at the time, and I was able to sit near the fire pits, which enhanced the experience. Robert came by, introduced himself and The Still and provided me a menu. They have quite a lot of different alcohols and house made ingredients that I was quite surprised in. I don't typically frequent speakeasy type establishments and felt a little out of my depth, so requested a dealer's choice for both drinks, initially providing me what types of alcohol I'm partial to and what mix ins I'm not a fan of. First drink was his twist on a manhattan which was I enjoyed. To be honest, I'm not quite sure I remember what was in it but it was definitely a good choice. Second drink was a twist on a jungle bird, which blew me out of the water. It had ingredients that would have put me off when ordering, but he managed to make a drink that's making me question my stance on what I like and what I don't. Would have gone for the lucky three but I wanted to keep my wits about me. What was a nice add on was that we were able to order from the Vero Amore as well as the small plates menu in addition to my drinks. I ordered the Hummus, thinking when they said small plate they meant small plate. Yeah...no. You get your money's worth. It was tasty, and filled me up alongside my drink. In addition, ordered a pasta dish to take home later. As a heads up, your food will take a bit, as the bar takes on the same mentality as the restaurant: good food takes time, it's worth the effort, And it was. The Still doesn't do advertising, relies solely on word of mouth (or typed letter) only. So here's mine: From the drinks to the food, from the ambiance to Robert's knowledge and personality, The Still offers an experience that I'd want to come back often if I lived closer. The Still is warm and welcoming place, yet definitely a "pinky up establishment." Cheers! read more

I've been on the hunt for speakeasies in Tucson, so we decided to try this one out one night. It's a very cool concept and attached to a great place to grab dinner beforehand. Unfortunately, the people that were supposed to show us to the speakeasy took about 15 minutes to come to grab us (after our reservation). The drinks were tasty, and they had some unique flavors to try out, but they were a little out of my normal price range (about $20 per cocktail, which is a little high for Tucson in my opinion). However, the ambiance is lowkey and they've got indoor and outdoor seating options, which is a nice atmosphere! read more

Great place to go and the Bartenders are amazing. Drinks are a little pricey but worth it.

Great ambiance and even better service!! The place is in an apparent old commercial building basement. Very cool however!!

Loved this place. We heard about it from a local guy. Very non-descript, if you don't know about it, you aren't getting in. Drinks were epic, good cigar selection and tasty food. That said, service was awesome. Little wait time but the waiters and waitresses were fun and upbeat. A great experience and I'll definitely return! read more

I don't like writing bad reviews without explaining what would have made an experience better or even mildly adequate, So here it goes.... I stumbled upon this so-called "speakeasy" with a friend and had a great experience - friendly environment, only a couple of people, very attentive and informative bartenders, etc. The drinks were VERY expensive (minimum of $18 each) but also worth it for the overall experience. I decided to return with my partner a few weeks later with a reservation. Upon arrival, there was no refinance of my previous experience. There was no welcome as there had been the first visit, the bartender was talking to herself and complaining about the guests, the drink I ordered to be hot was served cold, and it was crowded and an unwelcoming environment altogether. $18 minimum for a single drink was NOT worth it. It felt like one of the lesser places Tucson has to offer and I will mot be returning unless changes are made. Great potential, if the focus turns back to curating a good environment instead of pumping customers in and out. read more

Just go and enjoy yourselves! This is a special place to really relax and savor high quality drinks and service. We were fortunate to have scored a whiskey 101 tasting with the GM Brent after meeting him the night before during my husband's delicious birthday dinner at Vero Amore, the home base in which The Still hides. We wanted to learn all about this line of liquor and we sure did! Comparing a variety of whiskey, scotch, and bourbon was so helpful to discover what appealed the most to each of us. Sipping them straight was the best starting point. Then we ordered amazing cocktails and Sam our bartender did not disappoint! Can't wait to go back and explore more. Wow. read more
