It ain't pretty.... When you walk through the front door, you're greeted by the scents of stale cigarette smoke and Fabuloso. The decor is something out of the mid 60's. It's a very fun, unpretentious place. Good service, fun drinks and a great escape from our crazy world. Check it out!

There aren't many places in Midtown with this level of dedication to looking retro. The Shelter is…read moreheavy on mid-20th century design, with an interior completely dedicated to JFK memorabilia. It's kitsch and offbeat, maybe even offputting if you think too hard about the legacy of that family, but it's anything but boring. What I love: They're big on doing their own infusions. You absolutely must try Pam's Spicy Lemonade--Hornitos with thai chili and mint. I've also had coffee-infused liquors here before that you'll rarely find anywhere else. I'm not a smoker, but I get stoked for their enclosed smoking patio with a couple old arcade cabinets (I like Centipede!) What I like: There are like, really cheap simple cocktails with the creativity to make some unappealing, bottom shelf liquors taste palatable. Those aren't my usuals, but I'm always intrigued. I will shamelessly have a couple $3 High Lifes. There's only one big bar in the center of the lobby, but service is generally fast. It's dimly lit and can be tightly packed, but you'll still have fun. Good for date night or groups of four or less. No food, but once in a blue moon you'll find a truck parked out front. Overall, a solid Tucson staple.

I have nothing but great things to say about this business. For one, Sierra Vista is a small town…read moreand it isn't much to do for leisure; Chill Factor Hookah Lounge is definitely doing a service for those who like to get out without having to travel all the way to Tucson. The Hookah: They have several flavors to choose from to include house made mixes. I used to smoke hookah almost daily and would visit lounges from city to city and I must say that I am very impressed with this experience. Normally, when I take a break from hookah, my first time doing it again is too harsh and I end up stopping. I'd been eyeing the lounge for a while but wasn't sure if I'd have that same harsh experience so I held off. My birthday being the next day, and needing to kill time before celebrating; I decided to give it a try and I must say the first hit was super smooth. If you like to try different flavors, they are sure to have something to suit your tastes. Happy Hour: On Wednesdays and Thursdays, they have happy hour where you can get discounted drinks (I drank Coronas and they were about $1 and some change each. They also do Karaoke on Thursdays as well as a poetry night. Me being up in age, these nights suit me fine, especially if you want to just chill and vibe without much sensory. I haven't been on the weekend yet, but I've been told those are the more lively nights. Definitely check it out on any night; you won't be disappointed! Pricing: Again, I've only been on a Wednesday night but for $20 or so you can have premium hookah and a beer and have a good night. These are really great prices for hookah so definitely don't miss out on the Happy Hour nights if you can't make the weekend or other nights. It's a cool after work unwind spot for sure. Hospitality: Customer service was stellar. You feel like you are at home walking in. The owner is very attentive and will ensure you are satisfied with your experience. (The staff even took a birthday shot with me)! As as "former party girl" who doesn't do much of anything these days; nor have I smoked hookah in quite some time; I realized that I am a lightweight now. The staff made sure I was safe and comfortable and said I could stay as long as I needed to recuperate! This shows their integrity, professionalism, and that they truly care about their patrons and for that, this will be my "spot" (AND I will bring others to join me in the near future). Atmosphere: I vibed to the music all night. Seating was comfortable, the space was clean and the lighting wasn't too bright. They have T.V.'s playing on each side of the venue and V.I.P. seating that can be reserved. I'll be back for sure.

Such a cool place! Probably just us but we had a little difficulty in finding The Owls Club but…read moreonce we did, it felt transformative to some degree. Old pews as "booth" seating and several rooms throughout the establishment. It's dark, it gives off old vibes but not in a creepy, musty way despite the place being a former mortuary. But the cocktails, oh the cocktails. These are the kind of cocktails I dream of. And the bartender completely looked like he belonged to a bygone era - cool cat vibes for sure. And he is an expert as mixology.

It feels intimate, almost cinematic. You're not walking into a bright sports bar; you're stepping into a moody, low-lit cocktail lounge built for conversation and slow evenings. The space has character: exposed wood beams, a long bar lined with bottles, soft pools of light over booths, and a relaxed, unhurried energy. It feels tucked away, which adds to the appeal. And while the lighting sets the mood, the drinks are what make it worth staying. Well-crafted, balanced, and clearly made by bartenders who take pride in their work. Strong without being sloppy. Creative without trying too hard. If you appreciate a dim, intimate setting and serious cocktails, The Owl Club delivers. It's the kind of place you settle into -- and don't rush out of.

I'm happy to have finally gotten a chance to visit Unicorn Zebra since it's been on my list from…read morethe time they opened. It's a fun and also elegant atmosphere with the zebra theme clearly exemplified across the space. I would have to say this is one of the coziest bars I've been to, the furniture and seating is really supportive of a long-term visit. There are other levels, lower and an upper level besides the main space, but be aware that if there are parties, they can typically take up different areas. Our bartender, Sarah was fantastic! The way that she handled all of the guests and the busy field was incredible, so calm and collected, and furthermore making some really incredible drinks. Heads up that the online drink menu is not the current drink menu, I couldn't remember all the names of our drinks and put those in the photo captions, so when I checked on the website, the menu was showing something different other than what I saw at the bar. Out of several places I've been to, I'd say the mixture of flavors and details in the drinks are quite unique. I'll be back for more one day

We were greeted by a giant statue of a unicorn zebra and of course took a selfie. We then went to the bar area and absolutely loved the dark speakeasy vibes. Burk, the handsome man with a shiny head, was at the bar. He handed us a drink menu that contained fun drink names like Death of a Unicorn. The drinks tasted good and had a lovely presentation. Mine even came in a zebra mug. We also learned that this bar has both an upstairs and downstairs area. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and headed home. This place left such an impression that we have been back two times since. On another occasion we had Nate the bartender. He had a lovely personality and accommodated all of the guests that came in near closing. We enjoyed Santa's Banana Hammock and Unicorn Ski Accident. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem. I look forward to seeing where this place goes. It has a ton of potential for special events with the basement area. P.s. It's also a boutique hotel. You could always book a room and enjoy dreams downstairs without having to drive
