I should have checked all the reviews. Food 3-3.5 stars Ambiance 4 Service 1.5 stars Our experience was for a Saturday lunch in May. Greeted warmly by the host. There was no wait and our order was taken about 15 minutes after we were seated. That was a sign of things to come. We received our order ~40 minutes later. We needed to get to an appointment in 1.5 hours and had to push that to a later time because... good luck paying out or getting iced tea refills or pretty much anything after receiving your order. After our server finally stopped by and said she would bring our check, we watched her run out to the outdoor dining area five or so times and deliver three other checks, but not ours. I cornered her in the kitchen where she was with a manager and asked for our check. There was no apology from her or the manager. Thankfully, we could scan a QR code to pay. Any manager who does not step in when a customer has to ask for their check (in the freaking kitchen!) needs improvement. I doubt anything will change considering her lack of concern. read more

It had a splash of Pomegranate juice and you couldn't taste any Passion fruit juice. Just tequila, ice and salt. It was my fault of not having it replace, but when you are thirsty... Burgers: 3 Stars Zinburger - manchego cheese, zinfandel braised onion, lettuce & mayo. The meat was excellent, tender and juicy. But the braised onion and Manchego cheese were ok. The cheese has a slight nutty taste similar to a Parmesan cheese. The burger was messy due to the braised onions. The show string fries were hot and decent. El Diablo Burger: 3 Stars Fire roasted jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, caramelized onion, lettuce & chipotle mayo; make it a double smashburger. We thought with the name of "El Diablo" the burger would have some heat from the jalapeños and pepper jack, but it missed the mark. So much potential and it didn't live up to the name. ZUCCHINI FRIES - 2.75 Stars Parmesan & ranch. This was a Side item with the El Diablo Burger. They look good and yummy however the Parmesan cheese was lacking in flavor. It was slightly crunchy from the cornmeal batter and was sprinkled with the cheese and deep fried. Again, it has so much potential. It was our first time to burger joint and it won't be our last. Disappointed is how I will start. Eating out is expensive and driving anyone for work or fun is costing all of us way more now in many years. I placed an order for dinner for my husband and me. Dining in at Zinburger is not my husband's favorite because the acoustics are terrible. But we enjoy their food. I arrive at the time my order said it will be ready. I park in the posted area for pickup and curbside. I call the number posted. A employee answers and said my order was ready and they would be out in a few minutes. She asked if I was parked in the curbside area. I said yes. 15 minutes later no one. I notice a bag stapled inside. It is 4:30-4:45pm on a Wednesday. Not busy at all. I walk in, look at the bag and it is my order. No one greets me or asks anything about me taking my bag off the counter. We won't be back. Can't go wrong with Zin Burger. They offer a nice patio, bar or dining room seating option. Their wines come in various ounces: 6,9 or the bottle. The Rosé is very refreshing on hot Tucson days. You can split an order of sweet potato fries. I build my own burger with onions, bacon, cheddar and a fried egg. And then I take half home. Came for Happy Hour (3-6pm; 7 days/week!) on a Monday at 5:30p with the aim of grabbing a drink and burger. It took a while to get seated and we noticed, there were only four waitstaff, requiring the bartender (who had several sitting patrons) to service at least two dining tables. Despite being about half empty it also took a while to have our order taken but after these pair of delays it was great. Over the past three years (see pics) HH drink prices have only nudged up a $1 or so but HH food jumped 25-40%. This is partially due to the increase in some entree sizes, such as the addition of the double smash burger ($13, normally $16). We opted for the classic old fashioned ($8) and their multi-fruited Zingria ($6). Both were solid representatives -- not overly sweet, and nicely priced. We each opted for the double smash - one as described (bacon, zin sauce, amer cheese) and the other with sauce deleted and Havarti instead of American. It's nice that you can sub cheeses at the same price. The only other cheese I considered was cheddar! We also got chili/cheese fries to share ($7.50). Food arrived in less than 10 minutes and all was hot. The shoestring-style fries were drizzled in a spice brown sauce (bleh) and liquid cheese (bleh). While the fries, dotted with diced green chilis, were quite good, the liquid condiments on top were disappointing and next time would order plain fries ($4). Burgers, on the other hand, were delicious. Two patties provides a lot of protein and their smashed grilling created lots of crispy edges. At $60 all-in it seems high for happy hour, but $30/person for entree, cocktail, side is quite average for dinner these days. There's a really good special too called the "happiest meal" (double smash burger, fries, draft beer) for just $16. We would have done that but both of us vastly prefer cocktails/wine. Our actual server was terrific. Bathrooms are clean/elegant. Parking can be challenging with the co-located, multiple eateries but there always seems to be a spot somewhere. read more

Right now we have perfect weather for dining outdoors in the beautiful patio of this restaurant. They even have sprinklers for your comfort. I ordered their Hit Guac Bottom burger which would have been spectacular if it wasn't lukewarm. The side fries were delicious and perfectly seasoned. I decided to have it with strawberry banana shake and even though they don't have it on the menu they made one for me. Their burgers are delicious and they have the best shakes (cookies and cream is my favorite)! Also, what burger place has pie?? I took a friend on a birthday and almost ate all of the birthday guest's banana cream pie, it was so freakin' good. Burgers are substantial so I was even left with some to take home. They also have a smattering of appetizers which is also rare for a place that you'd expect to specialist in burgers and have a smaller menu overall. But that's not where they stop! Zinburger is now on my list of burger spots in Tucson. I had ordered the Zucchini fries, Buffalo Chicken Burger, and the El Diablo Burger on this visit. The dish that stood out was the Zucchini fries, it was crispy yet melted in your mouth with each bite. It was topped with grated Parmesan that paired with the fries perfectly. The Buffalo chicken was delicious, the chicken was a good size that offered a slight crispy crust, while the meat was very juicy. The El Diablo is great as well. The fire-roasted jalapenos gave the burger a slight hint of heat, but mild enough for those who can't handle a spicy meal. The service was good, and we got greeted and seated quickly. The ambiance is very relaxed with many windows to allow the natural light in. I would like to visit this location again in the evening or when a game is one to see how the vibes are then. read more

Tonight, I ordered the exact same as last time...Med Chicken Bowl. This time it looked as though the bag had been dropped, as food was sloshed about in the container...not very appetizing. All of the chicken was at one end and the tahini was smeared around on the sides of the container, which not only looked icky but also means there was less on the food. Perhaps it wasn't dropped but something happened to it. All in all, there was no feeling of care associated with the meal. Also, the chicken was cold and kind of gross, though I picked up in a timely manner (20 minutes after ordering). Top guess on the chicken is that it was previously cooked, and at lower heat so there was no sear whatsoever. And then it was lightly microwaved to kinda heat it up for my dish. It was fairly gross, though I did eat it. I looked at the menu just now (to refresh my memory)...I do not recall any chickpeas or red pepper in my meal. All I recall is chicken, rice, tahini, cucumbers, onion, tomatoes. Maybe that's why the container looked somewhat empty. I had asked to hold the feta...maybe that triggered a cascade of omitting other items. It was fairly disappointing and it's kind of weird that the exact same meal not even two weeks apart can be so different. First time it was great, second time I'm not sure if I'd eat that meal again, even if it were free. Tonight: kinda gross, actually. Oh, well, it was a good streak! We decided to go out on Father's Day, so we had to choose carefully. The first place we tried was too busy, so I called Zinburger and was told it was busy but no wait. We ordered the steakburger because we wanted it medium rare. Done the way we like it. We had fries, I had a small side salad, husband had a beer and I had a Tropical Spritz. I watched a chocolate cream pie walk by, so yes, I had to have it. We took it home and it was so chocolaty and delicious. $20 for alcohol, take that out and it was right under $50 before tip. Fairly reasonable these days. The dining room is very industrial and very, very loud, which was the only reason I gave this 4 stars. We really couldn't carry on a conversation. It was busy and it took a little time getting our food and the check, but everyone was so pleasant, it didn't matter. Emerson was our server and she was great. No photos. I forgot. Went here for date night on Halloween. It was pretty quiet, with maybe five different parties eating, including ours. We ordered two appetizers, the cheesy fries and the Italian meatballs. Both came out with our entrées for some reason. The meatballs weren't bad. There were four along with some soft brioche like bread that was great for dipping in the sauce. $14 for that did seem a bit much for it though. The cheesy fries ($10) were a good portion for two people. I originally felt they could've had more cheese, but they came with a cheese sauce to dip them in, so all good. Both of the burgers ($14.95 &$15.75) were pretty yummy. It was a good meal, but altogether with tip, also a $70 meal. I won't say it's not worth the prciness but just know if you're going to visit it's a little bit pricey for a burger spot. read more

I've been to Zinburger and enjoyed it. But I went on April 25 for a birthday treat and was very disappointed with my food. First, service was excellent. But I spent $30 on a double smash burger and truffle fries. The bun was stale, like it had been left out too long. The burger was just meh and the truffle fries were not how I remember them. I get it that taking something home is not going to be as fresh as if I ate it in house, but I have taken burgers to go from fast food places, for less and had a better experience. As I mentioned, I've been to Zinburger before and have always enjoyed it. I'm sure I'll go back, but for the price I pay I expect a better quality of food. read more

I love the patio, which has misters for summer and heaters for winter. I've been eating here since they opened. I can't eat beef, and their turkey burger is amazing. But things have changed and they are worse. I went there last night with a friend and we noticed they have changed the menu for the second time recently. Everything we ordered was far too salty: the Classic Diner Burger (turkey patty), the Double Smashburger, the Zucchini fries, and the regular fries. Let me start by saying the service was great, as always. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and really did her best to help. Unfortunately, the food was awful. I ordered the "green chile fries"--emphasis on green chile--but there was none. I was told they actually don't make them with green chile, only jalapeños. When the dish arrived, it was a soggy pile of fries with just a few small pieces of jalapeño. The manager did bring out extra jalapeños, but by then the fries were inedible. And for $12? Definitely not worth it. Next time, I'll save my money and go to Divine Bovine or In-N-Out instead. Even dessert was disappointing--the waitress kindly offered it for free, but it was frozen, not fresh, and didn't resemble banana cream pie at all. The sangria was overly sweet and lacked any real wine flavor. Overall, the quality of the food has gone downhill significantly. Save your money. I use to love Zine Burger. :( read more

An update: for the longest time this was my favorite burger in town! The last few visits I have found the meat patty lacks seasoning and while the toppings are usually good the patty stills needs flavor. Without the seasoning and/or char, it leaves a fatty taste in the mouth and is awful. I will try this again and hope there is a change, but it will be awhile. I am very sad. For many years I have brought people here and suggested this place. That is on hold. I am no longer recommending it for now. read more

I spoke to the manager directly as Zinburger used to be a locally owned restaurant that prides itself on a creative menu with quality and fresh ingredients. The manager stated that their meat is factory farmed and provided from Sysco foods. After contacting Sysco to better understand why their food was lacking freshness and quality, I was told that they provide food for local jails, prisons, hospitals, schools. I was shocked because Zin burgers markets to higher socioeconomic groups of people and seen as a higher end, quality burger restaurant. Since chain, Cheesecake Factory bought them, they've been missing that quality they were once known for. I definitely won't be back. read more

I was told to try this place, so my husband and I went. We got seated immediately and it was pretty busy. The place is very clean and organized. Nice lighting as well. We got seated and the waiter came up, immediately to get our drinks. He was very polite and amazing with helping us with choices. He kept our tables clear and drinks full. Wonderful waiter! The appetizer we got was the Italian meat ball with the garlic bread. Which I highly recommend. The sauces and the meat balls was amazing! Really delicious! Loved the garlic bread that came with it. Our entree's were all delicious and tasted great as well! Loved the fries here. The burger and chicken sandwich I highly recommend. You won't be disappointed! Then we got our dessert. My favorite dessert is banana pudding, so I had to try the banana cream pie. Yall it was like heaven!!! The crust is homemade and I couldn't get enough of it. I wish I bought more to take home! New Year's Day and understaffed but they rocked it. Our burgers came out quickly and were delicious, $8 each from the Happy Hour menu. The place seemed a little dirty but I mean it was New Years and they were busy. The only thing I noticed is that it was very cold inside, cooler than outside and it was winter. When we walked in it wasn't too busy but the host said she could only seat us at 2 separate high tops or we could wait 30 min for a table or sit outside. We had hungry kids so we opted for two separate tables. Once we sat down we really could all fit at ine so we moved over and only occupied one table. We had ordered appetizers on happy hour and floats and shakes. Drinks and appetizers took about 30-40 minutes to get.... our food came out shortly after that. Everything was good taste wise. Our server came over and apologized many times for the wait. ... My only food complaint was that the meatballs said they came with cheesy garlic bread and it was really only garlic bread with a couple shakes of Parmesan.
