We have been meaning to go in and try Redbird for awhile. The location - we have visted/eaten at every entity that has been here. The location is welcoming, open and filled with light. It has lots of seating without feeling too crowded. There is a small bar area where you can sit and watch sports in the center. The wait staff is friendly and professional. Our server's name was Abby and she was a delight to deal with. Profession, good attitude, light sense of humor and great food suggestions. We got the elite nachos with pollo asada and a Sonoran hamburger with waffle fries. Food was fast fresh and fantastic. Say that five times fast. their ranch is made in house and is great. Finally checked out the new Redbird location. The food was good. I had the elote nachos which are technically an appetizer but the portion was large enough to be a meal. I added carne asada and guacamole for $5 each and both were worth it. The service was good as well. Our server was friendly and overall we had a positive experience. One thing though is that the restaurant can get a bit loud, especially since the tables are pretty close together. During our visit, we could easily hear conversations from tables next to us. Seemed like the couple next to us were having an argument, which isn't exactly what you want to hear when trying to enjoy a meal. To be clear, that's definitely not a reflection on the restaurant, just an awkward situation that happened during our visit. Overall, Redbird was a great experience. My wife and I came here in a Friday night and were lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar. They were packed elbow to elbows. It took about 10 minutes have someone visit us and another 10 to get our drinks. I got a beer and my wife got a the old fashion. We orders our food, a dozen hot wings and a buffalo chicken sandwich. The food took some time to get to us, which was to be expected with how busy they were. The wings were large in size and extremely meaty. We had dinner at Redbird while visiting Tucson for a conference. We were told the menu would have something for everyone, and it was a relatively convenient drive from our hotel. W head a group of six. We were able to get a same-day reservation, and were seated immediately. Our server was Abby and she was so friendly and helpful. We all thought the menu looked amazing and there were many things we'd like to try, including the mocktails. Many of us ended up choosing the Mangorita mocktail- the description of the tajin rim is what sold us, and we were not disappointed! A few in our party got burgers, one got tacos (which came with an adorable array of pickled veggies on the side) and the rest of us got taco salads topped with various protein. This was not a boring taco salad from my youth! This was delicious and unique, with candied peppers, pickled carrots, pepitas, and more. Red Bird has been on my list for quite some time sand last Saturday was my opportunity for lunch. At 50, I had my share (honestly, more than my share) of nachos over the years, and I think their elote nachos were the best I have had. I really enjoyed the birria as an addition. I also had one of every taco they had and they were very flavorful. My wife also enjoyed her salad. The place was clean and the hostess was friendly. Our waiter seemed disinterested and we felt he tried to rush us. I am unsure why, as there were empty tables and we wanted to enjoy our appetizer. Another restaurant I've been wanting to try and we finally made it! We popped in on a Monday mid afternoon and were greeted by a really sweet and friendly hostess, seated right away. The menu has some really delicious sounding items that are different from the mainstream (probably what drew me here). We landed on some loaded wings, Nashville/AZ Chicken Sandwich and a side of fries. I must say as someone who doesn't lean towards waffle fries, these were particularly good. My sandwich was truly great and my husband enjoyed his wings. I am not generally a repeat orderer BUT I could see myself always ordering the chicken sandwich. The coleslaw, pickles, crispy Chix with the blend of sauce was reallllllllllllly good! I loved that our server brought us some warm towels afterwards, my husband, post wings,needed one. Our experience last night was definitely 5 star worthy! Tried Redbird on a whim and it was quite busy with an hour wait for a table indoors but the hostess offered a spot in the patio and it was great. We had a table on the sidewalk side and it was fun watching all the street activity and people. We were lucky enough to have Brooke as our server and not only did she provide excellent service all around but her shining, warm personality is what truly stood out for us. My guy had Appleton Estate rum and Coke but the Gold Grade Martini was calling my name. Delicious pineapple drink shaken and poured tableside - what a treat! We started with the pretzel appetizer which is served with a really nice triple cheese sauce, mustard, roasted and candied peppers and garlic confit. It's definitely elevated and is probably the best pretzel appetizer I've ever had. My guy had the BBQ Bacon Burger and I had the Early Bird Burger. Both were cooked to perfection and the smash patties have a nice crust and are really juicy. We also had a serving of waffle fries. Now I'm not a big fry person and waffle fries are always so thick and heavy but not these! Light, crispy and expertly seasoned. We also ordered some Mac and cheese to go simply based on that cheese sauce served with the pretzel and were glad we did. My guy ate a bit of it reheated at home late last night and said it was sooooo good. We took a lot of food home so we've got a full lunch waiting for us in the fridge today. I've been to this location probably 3 times now.. we frequent the NW location since it's on our side of town, but this location is AMAZING. It's probably at LEAST 3 times the size of the NW location and I do appreciate how less cramped it feels, but don't let that deter you.. you still get the same great quality food and service at both locations. However, we LOVE that there's a speakeasy nearby... so we often hit both at the same time. Redbird is probably top 3 on our favorite restaurants in Tucson and are always taking our friends and family here! I would also suggest getting there a bit earlier, as parking can be a bit of a challenge sometimes! read more

And their only dessert is a standout--bread pudding made from homemade cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting and Cinnamon Toast Crunch sprinkles. It sounds decadent because it is. Our party of four couldn't finish it. The service from Liz was friendly and fast. My only complaint is the indoor dining space is freezing! Outdoor tables are lovely but the metal chairs are uncomfortable and need cushions. I resorted to sitting on a cloth napkin, seriously! Friends, Redbird achieved a holiday MIRACLE. We took a notoriously hard-to-please out of town guest here (background: this family member has been neutral or negative about at least half a dozen of our favorite local spots), and he really liked it! Dare I say, he may have even loved it. He finished his whole plate. He complimented the food and ambience both while we were in the restaurant and then again as we were saying our goodbyes in the parking lot, AND he mentioned bringing other people here next time he's in town. It was gorgeous and delicious. For my meal, I ordered the Harvest Salad with chicken, which was incredible. Fresh, flavorful, perfectly balanced, and definitely my new go to. I also snagged a bite of someone's Elote Nachos and WOW... they were so, so good. They bring you warm hand cloths at the end of the meal which was a neat touch! Redbird Scratch Kitchen is a welcome addition to the spot where Flora's Market used to be. Parking is still a bit of a challenge, but I lucked out and found a space. I didn't have a reservation, so I grabbed a seat at the bar, which has a nice setup with large TVs for watching sports. Service felt a little shaky. The bartender let me know she'd be with me shortly, but it took a while to get water and put in an order. A manager seemed to be stepping in to help, so maybe they're still getting their rhythm down. The food was pretty good, and the drink selection was solid. I'll give them another try, hopefully it was just an off night for service. read more

Super busy Friday night when we went, so parking was really difficult, especially with a UA football game and tour de Tucson happening that weekend. Service was great and we were able to snag seats at the bar. Bar staff kept checking in on us while we waited for our food and water was usually always refilled timely. Food came out a little late but it was also super busy, so understandable. Food was great and flavorful! Small portion of waffle fries was just right amount to share with 2 people and their ketchup and ranch dipping sauces were tasty! The chicken burgers were moist and bun was delicious, too. At the end of our meals we got warm hand towels to wipe our hands, which was a nice touch. Although we didn't get the beef burgers, I would have liked to have ordered them if they weren't smash burgers. I miss seeing thicker beef patties rather than smash burgers, but I get it's easier to cook and more convenient. It would be nice if the doors didn't always open anytime someone walked in, especially since it was a very chilly night but that's how the building used to be set up for as a grocery store and it does make it more accessible for folks. Heading back into town with my sister we decided to stop and have some lunch at the Redbird in Sam Hughes. This was our first visit to a Redbird. We arrived around 12:30, and no wait time to be seated. The interior is very clean, bright and colorful. Our server was great, and very helpful. My sister ordered the grilled shrimp tacos. She said they were delicious and she cleaned her plate. Ha ha I ordered the Harvest salad and it was delightful! I loved the crunch of the almonds and sweetness of the fruit. Example #3, my 2nd friend ordered a burger and to our surprise it comes with NO FRIES lol... for a $20 burger and no fries is absolutely criminal. You can go to a fancy restaurant and pay the same or less and get more. Its literally a everyday family restaurant that serves traditional food but for some reason they price their sht like its fine dining. There's alot of Buz on this place but its only because its the new kid in town. Once the hype goes way and people realize the compromise of this place, i'd be surprised it remaining as busy. If the owners are reading this, seriously at least give people their money's worth. First time here. Bright festive dining area was attractive and the open concept was adjacent to Sonoran House coffee/bar which was a bit confusing but it flowed well. I was greeted immediately by a cheerful server who offered water, menus and asked if I wanted a beverage while I waited for a friend. I really enjoyed the look of Redbird, open, murals, a sports bar area, and as the lunch crowd arrived a lively atmosphere. Apparently they are known for their burgers which looked massive. Fresh ingredients were apparent and several tacos, salads and wings were also available. My tacos were delicious and came with several salsas which were a fun addition to sample. This was my second visit and it was amazing! Went here with coworkers after work. I had the Mac and cheese with breaded chicken and a side of buffalo sauce. Spot on recommendation from our waitress, Annabella. She was a Rockstar by the way. Her attentiveness and recommendations were on point! She really made it an enjoyable dinner. We had such an amazing time at that location that while we were up north we tried the Oracle location and switched our orders up. We went during Happy Hour and enjoyed those prices-- which HH discounted prices can be hard to find in today's economy. We hadn't realized the tight space at this location and ultimately decided on the patio which added a nice ambiance to our date night. Mind you this was a few weeks back and I can still discuss this in full detail. The food was EPIC. We ordered the loaded waffle fries and my mouth is watering as I write this.
