It is such a great hole in the wall. The waitresses are welcoming and greet you from wherever they are standing. Letting you know right off the bat "Sit wherever you like" One of the waitresses takes your drink order and scurries about, the other comes by a minute later to take your order. We came here twice in our week while in Tucson. The food is great! Belgian waffle for me. Though they didn't have "fresh strawberries", the waffle was delicious. My husband had the eggs with sausage and pancakes. He devoured it. Our second trip, I had an American cheese omelette which was delicious and my husband had the California omelette (wish I had taken a picture, it was beautiful). He devoured it as well. Had breakfast one morning while in town. A popular spot, very busy with only morning hours. Closes at 2pm. We grabbed a booth walking in and a server brought us menus. Old school diner style with a wall of booths and a short bar with stools. We gave the menu a good once over, its extensive so just about any tastebuds are covered here. Eggs numerous ways, breakfast burritos, pancakes and such, biscuits and gravy. I had an omelette with hash browns and rye toast. Pretty straight forward, the omelette was big and good, the hash browns crispy and plentiful, the rye toast was served buttered and was okay. All in in, a decent enough breakfast place. Cappy's special breakfast comes with 3 different proteins and eggs cooked your way (plus hash browns). My favorite however were their pancakes ....yummy! A nice affordable choice for this area that doesn't have a lot of sit down breakfast places. We were able to go in and get seated right away. The food was really reasonably priced and very generous. No one left hungry, for sure. It took a few minutes before any checked on us but once we got going everyone was very attentive, checking back to see if we needed anything and making sure our drinks were topped off. There were so many things to choose from from the menu, I'll definitely be going back to try more things. You can order from either the breakfast or lunch menu at any time. Definitely worth visiting. Call me a fan, call me fat & happy, call me for breakfast! We tried Cappy's for breakfast yesterday on a whim and boy are we glad we did! Cute, little place in a strip mall on Prince - the place is kind of nondescript but I'm just fine with that. We were told to sit anywhere so we chose a comfy booth and were waited on promptly and given nice, hot coffee. My guy likes flavored creamer so when our server asked if we wanted some and responded positively, she brought out the big ole pump container and left it at the table, LOL. My guy and I did create your own omelettes. I had green chile, cheese and sausage in mine - topped with avocado. It was perfection - and HUGE. I selected biscuits and gravy as my side which I really didn't eat but my husband sampled it. He did a create your own as well but I don't remember what his was made of but will tell you that he loved it. He had toast, hash browns and bacon with his meal. I was leaving a bad review on a restaurant here in Columbus Ohio where I live, and I asked myself afterwards, "why aren't restaurants run like they used to be?" That question made me remember this nice little diner I used to go to all the time back in Tucson. Cappys. I believe the place is family run because the women all looks similar, and the cook looks like a happy dad. Anyway, the food was great, and I loved just hanging out drinking coffee while these nice ladies took care of me. I used to always get a cinnamon roll to go. I've been meaning to try this place for a long time. I finally had lunch here today. There are so many menu items (and specials) that sounded good that it was hard to decide what to get. I settled on the chicken fajitas with rice, beans, and a flour tortilla. It was all good; my only complaint is that it didn't come with salsa. (The menu listed salsa separately at almost $2 per serving. I made do without.) The atmosphere is classic down-home American diner. Service was fine. Favorite hole in the wall breakfast place for family so had breakfast here. French toast, made with thick bread. Powered sugar sprinkled on top. Toast itself was soaked nicely. Eggs cooked perfect and the sausage patty was plain, not well seasoned. The hash browns were requested extra crispy and they were excellent! Nice thick mound of potatoes that were soft inside and so crispy outside. Again...spices were missing but no complaints! Came in to grab some breakfast before the local mall opened up. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center and is a "dive." Table service was somewhat slow and nothing too friendly. The waitstaff was not rude, but not friendly either; they just seemed preoccupied. Coffee is served hot, but too weak for my taste. It's pretty light in color, which makes me feel they are light on the grounds when brewing. I ordered their chorizo plate with flour tortillas. My guest ordered their tamale and egg plate. Both of us had the same review of our dishes tasting "okay" but nothing to write home about. Service of our food was fast, but other than that, the waitress was not attentive. The breading was a little heavy for my taste, but that didn't stop me from taking it home to finish off (it was too big for me to finish in the restaurant). The pancakes were excellent.
