Denny's only WISHES they could be this Mexican Mayberry coffee shop. Attention hipsters: Go to Snooze. This place is the real McCoy. Anybody over 55 will dig this place. I ordered ala carte because I did not want to take leftovers: One egg over easy and corned beef hash. Egg was a medium and the corned beef was Mary Kitchen out of the can! My favorite! You can get your chicken fried steak with country gravy on here or go full-on breakfast burrito. Come as you are for breakfast or lunch. No desserts listed. I'm going to take myself out more often! PS: Don't expect Starbuck's espresso roast here. Not gonna happen. read more

First time. Heard a lot about this place. Cute place. About 15 tables/booths and a cute 3-4 spot counter you can belly up to. Place looked clean. Tables, menus, floor boards, walls. Clean. Servers/staff all friendly. Kinda far out for me but I'll definitely return when in the area. read more

It is such a great hole in the wall. The waitresses are welcoming and greet you from wherever they are standing. Letting you know right off the bat "Sit wherever you like" One of the waitresses takes your drink order and scurries about, the other comes by a minute later to take your order. We came here twice in our week while in Tucson. The food is great! Belgian waffle for me. Though they didn't have "fresh strawberries", the waffle was delicious. My husband had the eggs with sausage and pancakes. He devoured it. Our second trip, I had an American cheese omelette which was delicious and my husband had the California omelette (wish I had taken a picture, it was beautiful). He devoured it as well. Overall, Cappy's is a great place, great food and excellent service! read more

Had breakfast one morning while in town. A popular spot, very busy with only morning hours. Closes at 2pm. We grabbed a booth walking in and a server brought us menus. Old school diner style with a wall of booths and a short bar with stools. We gave the menu a good once over, its extensive so just about any tastebuds are covered here. Eggs numerous ways, breakfast burritos, pancakes and such, biscuits and gravy. I had an omelette with hash browns and rye toast. Pretty straight forward, the omelette was big and good, the hash browns crispy and plentiful, the rye toast was served buttered and was okay. All in in, a decent enough breakfast place. It met our needs and served its purpose. 3.5 Stars rounded up for our kind server 01160 read more

Convenient location, easy parking. Ambiance/Cleanliness-Room is a depressing box. Pretty sure nobody comes here for the ambiance. Every DMV i have ever been to was more welcoming. Clean enough...2 stars. Service-perfection. Got everything I needed, service with a smile. 5 stars Food. I got the Reuben. It was on point, decent meat, good flavor and a side of tasty coleslaw. 4 stars. I would absolutely go back. read more

Recommend: Yes. Everyone needs a place to go eat (today) that still has that home-town, simple, diner effect - with great (scratch that) EXCELLENT customer service! One unique thing more to share in the end... This place has absolutely nothing fancy about it. But, it's FILLED with people literally clawing to get it, and packed out by 0630, on a Friday morning! It's tiny, dated, simple; I LOVE places like these that get you great food, fast, hot and keeps your coffee cup filled. I had their massive chicken fried chicken dish, which literally covers a whole plate, hash browns and a couple eggs. The House Commander, she had a breakfast burrito. So what keeps the door hinges constantly flying in both directions?? The food is fast, hot, filling and it's the common secret to keeping you coming back; all with a smile. All in, the EXACT same meal WILL cost you in excess of $55.00 at Denny's, with an AARP discount, but here, you pay only $36.00 and get it faster... Did I say I love simple diners like this? read more

Your typical diner ( breakfast and lunch) but with options for some Mexican food options and really nice service. The chicken fried steak (beef) was huge and breaded just right. Cappy's special breakfast comes with 3 different proteins and eggs cooked your way (plus hash browns). My favorite however were their pancakes ....yummy! Small area and so not a lot of seating but they are quick with bringing out your food and so table turnover is pretty good. Ample parking available. read more

A nice affordable choice for this area that doesn't have a lot of sit down breakfast places. We were able to go in and get seated right away. The food was really reasonably priced and very generous. No one left hungry, for sure. It took a few minutes before any checked on us but once we got going everyone was very attentive, checking back to see if we needed anything and making sure our drinks were topped off. There were so many things to choose from from the menu, I'll definitely be going back to try more things. You can order from either the breakfast or lunch menu at any time. Definitely worth visiting. One call out, for anyone looking for liver on a menu, they have it here. I know that can be hard to find so I wanted to make sure I mentioned it. read more

Call me a fan, call me fat & happy, call me for breakfast! We tried Cappy's for breakfast yesterday on a whim and boy are we glad we did! Cute, little place in a strip mall on Prince - the place is kind of nondescript but I'm just fine with that. We were told to sit anywhere so we chose a comfy booth and were waited on promptly and given nice, hot coffee. My guy likes flavored creamer so when our server asked if we wanted some and responded positively, she brought out the big ole pump container and left it at the table, LOL. My guy and I did create your own omelettes. I had green chile, cheese and sausage in mine - topped with avocado. It was perfection - and HUGE. I selected biscuits and gravy as my side which I really didn't eat but my husband sampled it. He did a create your own as well but I don't remember what his was made of but will tell you that he loved it. He had toast, hash browns and bacon with his meal. Everything was really good and the service was impeccable. Prices were great to boot. read more

I was leaving a bad review on a restaurant here in Columbus Ohio where I live, and I asked myself afterwards, "why aren't restaurants run like they used to be?" That question made me remember this nice little diner I used to go to all the time back in Tucson. Cappys. I believe the place is family run because the women all looks similar, and the cook looks like a happy dad. Anyway, the food was great, and I loved just hanging out drinking coffee while these nice ladies took care of me. I used to always get a cinnamon roll to go. I think this was the best diner in Tucson. read more

Moved here a few years ago and this place has been my favorite. Went in today and food was phenomenal more than usual. Mom and grandma (who usually serve me) were gone today but the two younger ladies were busy yet still kind and held it down. Both came several times to check on me and worked great as a team. Great mom and pops actually run by family. read more

Excellent example of a diner. Extensive menu, good food, and really good table service. They have it going. I'm sure I met the owner; how do I know? She was as happy as can be. I've been meaning to try this place for a long time. I finally had lunch here today. There are so many menu items (and specials) that sounded good that it was hard to decide what to get. I settled on the chicken fajitas with rice, beans, and a flour tortilla. It was all good; my only complaint is that it didn't come with salsa. (The menu listed salsa separately at almost $2 per serving. I made do without.) The atmosphere is classic down-home American diner. Service was fine. My meal came to $14.99 including tax and tip, a real bargain. read more

food was fine, service was okay. But serving food on cracked plates is inane, and even the coffee cup was cracked. Guys, basic safety standards apply. If it's broke/cracked you CANNOT clean it. replace. Just, take the mini-hit. Heath inspectors should probably close them down. No really. The food was fine but it is 100% unacceptable to serve food on cracked plates and coffee in cracked mugs. read more

Great family Resturant, hot coffee good food, a staple in that community. Connie is great with all people. Ambiance at 0600 is good hot coffee with a smile. Favorite hole in the wall breakfast place for family so had breakfast here. French toast, made with thick bread. Powered sugar sprinkled on top. Toast itself was soaked nicely. Eggs cooked perfect and the sausage patty was plain, not well seasoned. The hash browns were requested extra crispy and they were excellent! Nice thick mound of potatoes that were soft inside and so crispy outside. Again...spices were missing but no complaints! The hamburger patty and scrambled eggs were good and cooked well just need seasoning! They have great coffee! Everyone was friendly and service was efficient. read more

I want to start out with some positives. 1. There's plenty of parking 2. The whole family is working and are courteous and efficient. 3. The bathroom is clean. 4. The food is good and fresh. 5. My blueberry pancake was spectacular. 6. The whole place was clean. The things that are not the best 1. The booths are tight and cramped 2. The feeling I'm the place is a little blah. 3. Most of the food needed a little more flavor. 4. I guess the feeling I got was that it was institutional however you want to take that. The good outweighs the other. I would get the pancake again for sure. read more

Among the many delicious breakfast places in Tucson, Cappy's stands out for its incredible value. I have been a few times because the warmth of the people who work their contribute so much to the positive and homey vibe around this local diner. The food has always come very quickly and has been amazing. My favorite is the mushroom and spinach omelette that can come with a side of 4 pancakes! All of the savory stuff is excellent but the quality and quantity of the pancakes for the price is the most impressive part to me. If you need to find a breakfast place that'll just make you smile, give Cappy's a try. read more

Came in to grab some breakfast before the local mall opened up. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center and is a "dive." Table service was somewhat slow and nothing too friendly. The waitstaff was not rude, but not friendly either; they just seemed preoccupied. Coffee is served hot, but too weak for my taste. It's pretty light in color, which makes me feel they are light on the grounds when brewing. I ordered their chorizo plate with flour tortillas. My guest ordered their tamale and egg plate. Both of us had the same review of our dishes tasting "okay" but nothing to write home about. Service of our food was fast, but other than that, the waitress was not attentive. Overall, I would not return. read more

Don't be thrown off by the worn look of the place, the friendliness of the staff and the price of an unbelievably large breakfast will have u looking at your well used coffee cup with a smile. The place stayed busy while we were there, but the staff was hustling so was seated, order taken, coffee drinking pretty quickly and food was brought out fast & hot. We did the pick 4 and I have to say it was way more than expected for the price. It was actually more than I could eat (that is saying a lot), my wife even shared my pancakes & took hers home. Everything was good, I added pepper to my eggs, hashbrowns & biscuits, I appreciate being able to add seasoning, opposed to too much-my u can add, but cannot take away philosophy. Everything was exactly as ordered, wife likes crispy and it was brought out just like she wanted. Coffee stayed full, and we walked out stuffed. Wife says she found her new spot for breakfast. read more
