Shrimp Tacos
Yelena R.

I made a reservation because I was not sure how busy they get at noon on Sunday, I also wanted to make sure to secure a table outside because it was a beautiful day. Even though my reservation was confirmed the hostess could not locate it. Luckily it wasn't that busy and we set outside. The service was very good. I ordered shrimp tacos on flour tortillas and they were very tasty.

How can you pass this up?!?!

Very nice establishment. Well decorated. Friendly service and not trying to hurry you out the door. Had the chicken and chorizo pasta special and it was exactly as I expected. Enough for two to share. Highly recommended. The other customers were enjoying their meals so don't ship this place.

The food was amazing and it tasted so good. The dessert was amazing, too. They even have a special for each day of the week. Inside it was wonderful and everything was clean and neat. If you have a dog, you can eat outside. The staff was wonderful and was very kind to us.

This restaurant has a wide variety of food options, so there should be something for everyone. I ordered the half corned beef sandwich on sourdough with a side salad. The meat was tender, plentiful, and flavorful. The salad was fresh and delicious. It was served to us quickly and our waiter took care of us throughout our lunch. The food looked so good that I started eating it right away and completely forgot to take pictures of it! We sat indoors at a comfortable booth. There weren't many people there when we started our lunch, but it filled up as time progressed. They also have outdoor seating for when the weather is cooler.

Ok my first experience wasn't great but I was convinced to come back and give eclectic another shot . Glad I did ! Had a wonderful prickly pear iced tea & mango pineapple salad (made vegan style ) calabacitas taco & guac . Everything was good . I'll be back for sure . Plenty of customizable ootions for vegans . No wait . We sat outdoors with the misters and shade , It was perfect .

Because of the service and attitude we received from our waiter John, we will not be returning.

Chocolate Cake was moist and perfect consistency. Garnished beautifully. Rich but not enough you want to stop.

This was my first time at Eclectic. We were seated immediately and welcomed warmly! Server was attentive without being too much, and food service was QUICK! Most importantly everything was delicious! We had the tortilla soup, 100% recommend. I would come here ill just to have this soup. Then the BLTA sandwich was perfect and fries were addicting! And to top is off, desserts definitely did not disappoint. Overall ambiance was local cafe vibe all around, no fuss and all yum.

Haven't been here in a long while but ordered to go from here for lunch this week while at work, and while my taste buds were happy, I felt the effort was lacking. For one, there was no utensils or napkins with the Togo order, which I feel is standard for a to go order. Secondly, I ordered the McGina pasta, an entree I've had many times from there and found there was an abnormal amount of fatty bacon in the dish. Never have I had to spit out a bite so many times...it was weird. It was super saucy and delivered in a bag in a way that you would be holding the container sideways, causing the pasta to be slumped on one side and messy. I feel like they can do better.

What a cherished little gem! OMG I wasn't really expecting to be blown away by a salad but man was I ever. Literally it was the best salad I've ever had. I have never been big on onions and I loved them in this. It was just utterly amazing. Have I peaked your interest? That should have! I'm totally going to return. The manager, sherry came over and thanked us for coming in. Told us that all the vegetables and ingredients are fresh and nothing other than the fries are frozen. we even got zucchini bread and it was moist and yummy! My tummy doesn't hurt like it does for fast food. It was a much healthier option. 100% will return. Pet friendly patio area. Oh and their prickly pear tea was glorious.

Chicken chimichanga.

Very nice restaurant with a lot of vegetarian options. - Food is quite tasty. I had the chicken chimichanga while my three vegetarian tablemates enjoyed their food. - Excellent service. This is a sit down restaurant with table service. - Nice outside seating. Don't know about inside but it seems good too. Recommended.

Do you serve any fish? 🤞I swear I saw Seabass on the menu when I was there.

We serve salmon on Friday as our dinner special. No seabass. We have shrimp tacos and a shrimp salad on our regular menu.

Can you get an omelette?

Yes. We serve breakfast from 8 - 12 on Saturday and Sunday. You can build your own omelette all through the week.

Unfortunately, Guadalajara is one of these places. What I like: This restaurant can accommodate well over 100 diners without sacrificing service. Food only took 20 minutes during a dinner rush. I appreciate a well-oiled machine. I will admit, the salsa gimmick is charming. What needs work: Just because there's tableside salsa does not mean it's good. I have never seen anyone use so much cilantro! The drinks are mid--the jalapeno margarita uses the mildest peppers in the universe, and surprise! It's somehow also loaded with cilantro. I excitedly went for the biggest, most famous burrito on the menu and it just has too many ingredients (beans, rice, bacon, shrimp, carne asada) to work. They were too ambitious with this one. My bad. I can see this as a really fun place to take a large group from out of town. I bet if you come from the Midwest (it is full of snowbirds from the Midwest), this is mind-blowingly good. By Arizona standards, however, there are just too many old-timey places that simply do everything better.

The entire restaurant was packed with energy, music, and people enjoying the celebration, but it still managed to keep that classic Tucson charm and authentic Sonoran feel that has made El Charro such an iconic spot for over 100 years. The ambience downtown was fantastic, especially with the historic setting and the excitement throughout the evening. Cinco de Mayo brought an extra level of energy to the restaurant, with a lively crowd, great music, and a fun atmosphere that made the night feel like a true celebration. Even with how busy it was, the staff worked hard to keep things moving and remained friendly throughout the night. The food was excellent and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and you can tell why El Charro has become such a Tucson staple over the years. The carne seca continues to stand out as one of the signature dishes in the city, and the traditional Sonoran-style flavors really make the experience unique. The margaritas and drinks were also a highlight and paired perfectly with the festive Cinco de Mayo atmosphere. Between the food, drinks, music, and the energy of downtown Tucson, it felt like one of the best places in the city to celebrate the holiday. Overall, El Charro Cafe delivered a memorable Cinco de Mayo experience with great food, a lively atmosphere, and the kind of Tucson history and culture that keeps people coming back year after year.

The food is incredible, and the service is always friendly, fast, and welcoming. I've tried a bunch of different things on the menu, and honestly you can't really go wrong with anything, but my personal favorite is the King Kong. Fair warning, this place gets BUSY, especially on weekends or when snowbirds are in town. Even if you get there early you're going to probably have to wait a bit for a table but it's 100% worth it! Easily one of my favorite breakfast spots ever. When the weather is nice I prefer to sit on the patio outside because the inside has that hectic diner feel to it but if they are busy I'll take a table wherever I can get one! Phone never eats first when I'm coming here.

Disappointing Experience at Baja Café - Won't Be Back…read more I walked into Baja Café excited for what I thought would be a solid breakfast spot, but the disappointment started immediately. The entire place smelled like a musty wet towel which is what they were using to wipe down the tabletops. Not exactly the most appetizing welcome. The service was painfully slow from start to finish. The waitress was new and clearly trying her best -- she was genuinely friendly and kind, so I can't fault her personally -- but the overall pacing was terrible. I ordered the eggs, hash browns, and cinnamon roll pancake combo. The hash browns were an absolute SALT BOMB! I'm not exaggerating -- they were so salty I could barely choke down two bites before pushing them away. They were nice enough to remake them, but by the time the new ones finally came out (after a long wait), I had already lost my appetite and just wanted to leave. The cinnamon roll pancakes were the opposite problem -- WAY TOO SWEET. They were drenched in cinnamon syrup and then finished with a thick white glaze on top. There was so much sugar that you could hardly tell there was an actual pancake underneath. It completely defeated the purpose of ordering a cinnamon roll "pancake." Even my latte was weird -- it came out in a disposable to-go plastic cup with a lid, even though i weas clearly dining in. It made no sense! Long story short, I went in expecting a 5-star meal and left completely let down in every single aspect: the smell, the pacing, the food execution, and the little details. Nothing lived up to the hype. I won't be returning.

You walk in and it's alive. Busy, a little loud, full of energy, and it smells incredible before you even sit down. The food delivers in a big way. I went with a mix just to cover some ground. The carne seca plate stood out right away, deep, rich flavor without being heavy. I also tried a chimichanga that came out perfectly crisp, packed with filling, and somehow not greasy. That's a fine line and they nailed it. The enchiladas were exactly what you want too, saucy, flavorful, and clearly made with care rather than rushed out of the kitchen. Everything felt intentional, from the seasoning to the portions. You're not leaving hungry, that's for sure. Service kept pace with the chaos in the best way. Friendly, efficient, and they didn't miss a beat even with the place packed. It felt like controlled motion, not disorder. The atmosphere is part of the experience. It's not quiet or polished, and it shouldn't be. It feels real. Families, locals, people who clearly come back again and again. That kind of place. If you're visiting Tucson, this is a must. No question. It's the kind of spot that defines a trip, not just fills a meal.
