Salad niçoise with salmon - A salad niçoise with salmon, boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, green beans, mixed greens, and a sausage on a black plate.
Judy M.

Not only is this place a nonprofit that is doing good things in the community, it is an outstanding restaurant! From the second we walked in, we were warmly greeted, and assisted with our order. We both ordered the salad niçoise, which was huge and tasty. The salmon was delicious, as was the dressing, which was a mustard vinaigrette, and complemented the other components. There were Kalamata olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, sliced cold potatoes, green beans, and a hard boiled egg. I did manage to finish every bite. We were also offered a roll before our lunches came, which came warm and with butter on the side. We were checked on to make sure everything was okay. Someone even brought my water to me when I forgot my glass up front. I highly encourage checking this place out for lunch. Because they're not open for dinner.

I came in here for a late lunch. I really like the relaxing vibes as I walked in. I ordered a California club on whole-grain with fruit. I chose a nice little corner of the restaurant, which was really nice because I got to look at all the artwork for sale. A waiter and a waitress brought me a rosemary roll with the option of butter or vinegar and oil while I waited for my food. This roll was to die for! I'm not just saying that because I was hungry. My sandwich was pretty good. I'll probably ask for lightly toasted but that's just my preference. The waiter was so kind to check on me. I was interested in getting a half dozen. He checked with the kitchen and they weren't able to because it was not close enough to closing. I can appreciate that they wanted to make sure they did not run out. He did let me know I could call in the morning and preorder. All in all 10/10!

Thoroughly enjoyed our food quite a bit at Elliott's on Congress on a very wet and rainy night,…read morethis past November. I forgot which night it was now since we stayed in DT Tucson for Tour de Tucson from Thursday to Sunday. Oh, Actually I think it was a Saturday night because I remember wanting to go somewhere that had TVs that would show the Vegas F1 race. We got a table without reservation and they didn't have anything F1 on TV.. so we started just watching from our phone but then I noticed one of the main TVs above the bar started showing F1.. Now, I don't know if the servers of Elliott's were that observant and awesome or, they were already planning to show it once the race started... I choose to believe that our server was so awesome that she noticed we were watching F1 race on our tiny phone and put it on TV for us!! Honestly, just for that, 5 stars in my book. What also is a bonus is how good their food is. Sometimes you get nervous going to a local bar because food is not always good...though the people who run it and the place might be fun. However, you get all of the above at Elliott's. We ordered some mussels (cooked to perfection, not overcooked at all), pear salad, pineapple cider (delish), fish tacos, and steak. Everything was pleasantly yummy and the star was the mussels, which I did not expect to taste this fresh and delish, talking about setting low expectations and be pleasantly surprised! Overall, highly recommend. It did get darker and lots more busy and loud as we finished dinner and the Vegas F1 race finished. Def the place to bring people and friends to hang out and enjoy good food!

They infuse their own vodkas and have a great selection of flavors, like cucumber, mango, ginger, coffee bean and even horseradish. Most recently I got a cucumber soda and it was great. Perfect for summer time. They also serve food, and while it's been a while since I've dined here, I remember the food being good. The service is also solid. Overall, good vibes, good vodka, and good service! Will be back!

The small plates were just the right size. The oysters were perfectly prepared; I could almost taste the ocean. The shrimp Al Ajillo was out of this world. We shared the Patatas Bravas and ordered extra garlic aïoli because it was so good. The space is pleasant with outdoor seating and indoor seating with a huge rollup window that lets in the fresh air. The staff is very friendly. This will definitely be a must return spot when we come to Tucson.

Everyone checked in on us constantly, maybe ten times, making sure we were okay. Seriously, if you do not like great service, do not come here. I had the three lamb shanks and they were solid. Keep in mind lamb shanks are small, so if you are very hungry, this might not fill you up. The French onion soup was the highlight for me. It was huge, probably bigger than my hand, and delicious. Definitely a must try. My fiancé got the seafood paella and honestly, neither of us enjoyed it. Very bland, like seafood with no sauce at all. Not for us, but that is just our opinion. All in all, the French onion soup steals the show and the staff makes the experience excellent. Great job.

Its Boxyard name comes from the various shipping containers that make up most of the buildings inside. It reminded me of Container Park in Las Vegas and similar places in Downtown Austin. I'm very excited that Tucson has a place like this now too!! We were there on a Saturday night, so it was very crowded with a DJ playing in the back, yet it was still open and spacious enough to have plenty of breathing room. I also loved how there's more than one bar for grabbing drinks at and a few food options - we got a couple of smash burgers from Daddyburger inside and they were GREAT!! Took a little while to be ready but it was a busy Saturday night, so understandable. Definitely make sure to add the arugula and pickles to it - loved the extra textures and crunch. The burger hit the spot and the fries were solid McDonald's type fries. Other food options inside included a Mexican food/burrito spot with several vegan options and also a sandwiches/snacks thing! We ended up just eating, drinking, and dancing to the music the whole night there. It was a blast!! It also looked like a great spot for just hanging out or getting some food whenever during the day or the week. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

I'm glad I went with my gut because it truly was delicious! It was a great portion, and I really like that the crunchy parts were tostada-like. My friend got the Korean pork sandwich with fries, and she liked her meal too. I do consider myself a french fry, connoisseur, and at first glance, I didn't think much of their fries. But upon tasting them, they had the perfect crunch and the perfect dash of salt. They were good! I got one of their chocolate chip toffee cookies and it was bomb!! My wife pulled out her trusty phone, where she soon was directed to the highly-rated Raptor Canyon Cafe. So off we went. A warm and sincere greeting was the first of many pleasant things that we would experience in the next 45 minutes or so. The attitude and warmth of the staff here is exceptional. One really feels appreciated and welcomed while here. (*at least, my wife and I did) The place is decorated with a cute desert-Southwest vibe. A large building-sized mural of Father Kino mounted upon his rock-pony, is framed by the cute windows that look out on the quiet downtown streets. "Comfortable, with a slight splash of a mid-1970's Tucson cafe" is the energy I felt as we dined. One of my favorite things in the place is a steel-welded hawk figurine that is perched above the stately kitchen door. I imagined him tapping gently as he sat above the busy floor. And quoth the raptor, "The quesadilla is fy-orre". (Yes, I know, "floor", and "fire" don't really rhyme.) I never said I could spit fire (street lingo for being able to rhyme well.) My wife broke-character and ordered a breakfast sandwich. She normally goes for something more exotic, but as it turns out, this choice was a hit. Sometimes, simple things can offer great pleasures-and her egg and bacon filled biscuit offered proof of this statement. I listened to the imagined whisper of the watchful hawk, and decided to follow his raptorial wisdom/advice. Soon, the bacon quesadilla was placed before me (see photo). I added a splash of the locally produced hot sauce offered with a bit of ketchup and it all came together beautifully. The textures of the grilled tortilla; the barely not too hot melted cheese, and the crispy thick slices of bacon were as close to perfection that plate of breakfast could come. It really was good-eating in the neighborhood. We both ordered the fried potatoes with peppers and onions. If you go and don't get one of these, it will be a rookie move. Do not forget to order this side...esta muy bueno! It is actually a lot of food, and my better-half and I agreed that we could have split the dish. But, as we stood to say our good-byes and thank you's, neither of our plates had any evidence that fried potatoes had recently rested upon them. They actually looked like they had just been taken from the dishwasher--spot less. All-and-all, this place quickly worked its way into my heart. It's got wonderful chow (just In case I didn't emphasize how tasty is was--it was "really-really-really" good eats). The entire Raptor Canyon's staff shared pleasant demeanors, and the place has a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. Officially, I would categorize this establishment as a, "hidden gem" of Tucson. You have my permission to go there, but please keep it, "on the down-low "so that it doesn't get too popular. (*wink)
