Green Chile potato egg cheese burrito
    Connie G.

Trying out Seis Kitchen was on my bucket list for Tucson eats. I was on the east side and this location came up so I drove here. I pulled in at 11:32am on a Saturday (today) and was looking forward to lunch, but discovered lunch doesn't start until noon. Hmph. The server was patient with me. There was only one taking take-out orders and sit-down orders, and a second one arrived at noon who then catered to me. She was very pleasant and helpful. I sat at the bar facing east because that was the only location with an AC plug. I was by myself and that way I wasn't taking up a table. I ordered a green chile, potato, egg, cheese burrito. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was with my mild salsa. I thought I would just eat 1/4 of it and then wait for the lunch menu to start, but ended up eating the entire burrito and savoring it. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito to go to have for lunch the next day. The thing was huge! I even got some chips and salsa with that to-go order. The place was quiet to moderate during my visit. More people were coming in after 12:30pm. The open dining concept is airy, but with plenty of customers I'm sure this place gets loud. This place lived up to its reputation. And I learned why it is called "Seis." It's to honor the six regional cuisines of Mexico.

I think I will get nachos next time, cause my food was kinda bland. Overall, the seating area was good, and the servers were friendly.

NEW LOCATION! Love the new location. Big indoor seating and clean outdoors. Staff is friendly and provides warm welcome. The food is delicious! We ordered the crispy birria tacos and surf n turf tacos. Cooked perfectly! Great amount of garnish!! Included chips & salsa too!! Very happy they have opened an east side location!! Seis Kitchen is amazing!!!

Had heard about Seis Kitchen but had yet to try it. An Inkind coupon got us in there. The patio looked super fun but we visited during the heat of the afternoon so opted for an inside table. We were a bit unsure where to go as you pretty much walk right into the beverage bar upon entering. We figured out it was order at the counter. After searching a bit for the menu holder hidden on the wall we pursued the lengthy menu. We got the queso dip, birria burrito, three tacos (Al pastor, calabasitas and breaded fish) along with a strawberry house margarita. The staff were polite and friendly. The food came out very fast. The queso and the salsas were very good. Not quite enough chips though for a bowl of queso and two things of salsa. The burrito had cabbage in it which I wasn't expecting but it was rather good until I got to places where all it was was cabbage. The fish taco was delicious. The other two were good but don't sure I'd get them again. The margarita was wonderful. The side of rice was very crunchy and dried out and the black beans lacked flavor. We will be back to try out the patio, more margaritas and other item menus.

As an east sider, I am so excited about this new location! Both of the other locations are 30 minutes from my house. Having this option just 10 minutes away is a Tucson dream come true! The space is generous and bright. It appears to be the largest of the locations. I love the clean and casual vibe that they have created. The food is the same amazing quality that they are known for. I purposely ordered my usual order to see how it compares to my original experiences and there was no difference. The adobo steak taco, avocado taco and cilantro rice were just as amazing as ever. I was pleased to try their watermelon cucumber Agua Fresca and it was so refreshing. The perfect summer drink! I can't wait to come back and enjoy the patio once the temperatures are cooler. Congrats on a beautiful new space! We promise your east side patrons will be a huge support to you!

Let's start with the salsas. Before my.meal, chips and 2 salsas were brought out, red and green. They were both excellent, great spices, nice heat, but not so much as to burn my mouth before eating my meal. On Mt servers suggestion I ordered the Poc Chuc tacos. They also were great. The pork just melted, and the corn tortillas flavorful. The service was great and the meal well worth the modest price.

This new-to-the-Eastside restaurant is roomy, bright, and clean, with plenty of seating indoors and out. You order at the counter, get your own beverage at the drink station, and they bring the food to the table when it's ready. There are a lot of options and their breakfast menu also looks good. I chose poc chuc chicken tacos with calabacitas and for an extra $3, a side salad, as my two sides. The salad was crisp and fresh, but the ranch dressing tasted quite vinegary. I asked for the tacos without the tortillas, and they were happy to accommodate my request. The meat and toppings were all delicious. The calabacitas seemed to be just zucchini and yellow squash, without much seasoning. Everyone was friendly.

Seis has three locations. The one on Tanque Verde is new. The restaurant is large and open and very clean (even the bathrooms are immaculate). Lots of tables, a few highboys, and there is seating at the bar. Customers order at the register, receive a drinking glass to fill at the soft drink bar, and the food is delivered to the table, fast casual style. We arrived right at noon and the line to order was about ten minutes long. Menus are available in a wall box at the beginning of the line. As usual, my friend and I were torn between two dishes, so we did what we usually do and shared. Chips and two salsas were brought to the table. The red sauce was traditional and good; the green salsa was green-chile based, rather than tomatillo-based. Tomatillo is my personal preference. We got the crispy birria tacos and the surf and turf burrito. The tacos are street size and come with a choice of sides. I went with the cilantro rice; it was delicious and my favorite part of the meal. The birria was tasty, but the dipping sauce was not exciting. The surf and turf burrito was missing the surf element - shrimp. We did not realize until we were nearly done, so didn't say anything. My friend also had a gorgeous hot pink margarita that she proclaimed excellent. Seis is located in the La Playa center on Tanque Verde, with plenty of parking. I think Millie's Pancake House lived there for years, but the venue is new and fresh.

Happy to have an east side Seis location! Since their opening, we've stopped by for breakfast and dinner - as with other locations, you order at the counter, grab your number, and food is brought out to you. The agua frescas are as refreshing as ever - our favorites are fhe the strawberry limon and cochata (horchata with cold brew for a caffeine kick). The breakfast burritos are huge. I had the El Padre which felt like it was filled with more potatoes than meat or eggs, but still flavorful. For dinner, my husband had the nachos (added birria) which were pretty good, and I chose the 2 taco plate (you can also opt for 3) of the puerco verde with a side of calabacitas - recommend if you're a fan of green chile, it's my favorite of the meats they offer. Dinner also came with a side of chips and salsa - our favorite salsa is the green one, but both taste so fresh.

Eastsiders are celebrating this win ! Seis has finally come to the eastside ! This one is a slightly more casual vibe than Mercado location and offers up all the same Seis Kitchen staples . Plenty of vegan options here . Indoor & outdoor seating available. I had the calabacitas tacos , perfectttt.

Love the wall of chianti bottles that lead to the bar and love that the staff dress up in casual Prohibition garb. Came here for girl's night and it was everyone's first time even at the restaurant but mine. I'd had dinner a couple times in the restaurant for my birthday and had the cheese wheel fettuccine alfredo. I asked if anyone was interested in trying it and so 3 of us split it which ended up being pretty perfect. It is hands down THE BEST fettuccine alfredo. We had many drinks come to our table, the first round being the homemade limoncello. Made with local Meyer lemons, it is deliciously potent. A must try. The bartender, Ryan or Brian, he made cocktails from the heart. A couple of gals ordered "dealer's choice" drinks and they were inspired by the drinker's stories. It was really a unique experience for them and I could almost see his mind working out the chemistry of the libations. Another must try, although I didn't because I had to drive myself home. I did have a coffee with Bailey's, Amaretto, and freshly-made whipped cream. Last must try if not on a coffee drink maybe on a dessert. One person in our party thought that the drinks were on the spendy side. Many of the ingredients were house made and all top shelf. I'm from Los Angeles so an $18 drink was a normal night at the klerb. Worth mentioning if that would be a deal breaker. Worth a go. I thought it was better than the speakeasy at the Sonoran House which was too bright and not intimate. You really like feel more like you're not where you're supposed to be at The Still. There is a curio cabinet with cigars that I think are for sale. The speakeasy opens up to the patio for all the smoke suckers. Great for a small groups or date night, maybe not the first date.

The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio and that's clear in advance, and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had marrow before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and then the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

I understand the head chef has a French influence, but frankly it overwhelms the food and takes away from the freshness. I had the snapper since they didn't have the halibut. It seemed over cooked and then drenched in sauce with greens on top, also drenched in sauce. The saddest part was they sat us in the back room. Where they seemed to sit everyone coming into the restaurant. If the restaurant was packed I would understand but every other room was empty. Who wants to sit along the pathway to the bathroom? Service was so/so. Had to ask for drinks multiple times. But frankly the quality of the food was not worth the cost. Definitely will not be returning, until they revamp the menu to include less French style and more uniquely inspired fresh food. I mean if we wanted French we would have gone to Le Rendezvous or Wild Garlic which are top notch.
