When I first heard that Seis was moving in next door to the salon I go to, my heart filled with dread. My only experience with Seis had been at the MSA location, where I'd waited in line for an hour outside and then struggled to find seating. Needless to say, I wasn't exactly excited about having another Seis location nearby. Well... I'm very happy to admit that I was completely wrong. Since Seis Tanque Verde opened, it has become one of my favorite perks of spending several hours at the salon every other month. I inevitably get hungry while I'm there, and having Seis right next door has been a welcome relief. I am absolutely obsessed with the calabacitas burrito with added fajita vegetables. Nothing compares to it. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and well prepared, and, most importantly, it has been consistently delicious every single time I've ordered it. Then, last month, I discovered the Seis sauce--and apparently that was dangerous information for me to have. I became so obsessed with it that I've actually gone back twice outside of my regular hair appointments just to get more. So, Seis Tanque Verde went from being the restaurant I dreaded seeing next to my salon to being one of the things I look forward to most when I'm there. Fresh food, consistently good, and apparently a dangerously addictive sauce. What more could you ask for? read more

I want to like this place. I really do. The employees are all nice, and it's a cool little spot. I've ordered 3 times now, but after this last one, I don't know any more. $19 for a "chicken" burrito that was basically 99% beans and rice. All I could taste was the enchilada sauce which was incredibly spicy for some reason and it was just a soggy mess having so much beans. I also asked and made sure to check no cheese or sour cream on all three of the things we ordered, two of which were for someone who can't eat dairy lol. Every meal was covered in cheese and crema. Not something I should have to verify before I leave in my opinion. All in all it seems like just a pricier chipotle, but at least there you'll get chicken in your burrito. read more

This was my first visit to Seis Kitchen on Tanque Verde, though I had been at another location before. I really liked this space, as it is spacious. In fact, there was a group of 35 already sitting there when we arrived and it didn't make the space feel crowded at all. And to be fair, the woman at the register let us know our food may be a little delayed because of said group of 35. I appreciated the heads up. This did not slow down the chips and salsa at the table in the meanwhile, and the man working the floor (cool tailback beard, by the way), was pleasant and made sure we were in a good place due to the slight delay with our food, which honestly, didn't seem that delayed at all. I had the shrimp burrito (El Capitan) with the red sauce and it was excellent. Great sized portion and delicious through and through, no flavor was overwhelming, everything blended well. The woman at the register that took our order was also quite pleasant. The menu has a great selection and this particular space is enjoyable for parties of any size. Trying out Seis Kitchen was on my bucket list for Tucson eats. I was on the east side and this location came up so I drove here. I pulled in at 11:32am on a Saturday (today) and was looking forward to lunch, but discovered lunch doesn't start until noon. Hmph. The server was patient with me. There was only one taking take-out orders and sit-down orders, and a second one arrived at noon who then catered to me. She was very pleasant and helpful. I sat at the bar facing east because that was the only location with an AC plug. I was by myself and that way I wasn't taking up a table. I ordered a green chile, potato, egg, cheese burrito. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was with my mild salsa. I thought I would just eat 1/4 of it and then wait for the lunch menu to start, but ended up eating the entire burrito and savoring it. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito to go to have for lunch the next day. The thing was huge! I even got some chips and salsa with that to-go order. The place was quiet to moderate during my visit. More people were coming in after 12:30pm. The open dining concept is airy, but with plenty of customers I'm sure this place gets loud. This place lived up to its reputation. And I learned why it is called "Seis." It's to honor the six regional cuisines of Mexico. read more

I came here to use inkind credit. The seating is all kinds of confusing, it's not clear if you order at the front or sit to be served. They do both, but have some weird setup where certain tables are full service. I was told the booth/table my mom was at wasn't full service. My mom uses a walker so she sat at a booth/table against the wall while I tried to figure it out. After being told by one employee that table wasn't full service, another employee came over & told us it was. Jeez! At this point I regretted coming here. Service was fine, I felt like the servers were also kinda confused about what we ordered and when to bring it. We had the surf n turf tacos, side of guacamole, chips n salsa, churros to go. I had the margarita flight which had a few good flavors but a few too sweet. After adding lime to those they were better. The original margarita in the flight was very good. The tacos were good, the beef was very tender. The guacamole was ok, and I didn't care for the salsa. The churros were pretty good and come with 2 sauces. There are 3 other locations in Tucson and I'm curious if they are also hybrid order at the counter and full service. read more

As an east sider, I am so excited about this new location! Both of the other locations are 30 minutes from my house. Having this option just 10 minutes away is a Tucson dream come true! The space is generous and bright. It appears to be the largest of the locations. I love the clean and casual vibe that they have created. The food is the same amazing quality that they are known for. I purposely ordered my usual order to see how it compares to my original experiences and there was no difference. The adobo steak taco, avocado taco and cilantro rice were just as amazing as ever. I was pleased to try their watermelon cucumber Agua Fresca and it was so refreshing. The perfect summer drink! I can't wait to come back and enjoy the patio once the temperatures are cooler. Let's start with the salsas. Before my.meal, chips and 2 salsas were brought out, red and green. They were both excellent, great spices, nice heat, but not so much as to burn my mouth before eating my meal. On Mt servers suggestion I ordered the Poc Chuc tacos. They also were great. The pork just melted, and the corn tortillas flavorful. The service was great and the meal well worth the modest price. read more

I was really excited when I saw this location open on Tanque Verde, especially since I live on the east side and it's only a few minutes from my house. I've been a regular at the River location for a while and was happy to have one so close by. I've probably been here about six times since they opened, and unfortunately the experience has been inconsistent. A couple of times the food just wasn't great--once my shrimp tacos were completely inedible, which I brushed off as maybe being too close to closing time. But my most recent visit on Saturday, September 20, was especially disappointing. I ordered two Al Pastor taco plates (three tacos each) and a kids meal online for dinner, and what I received was nothing like what I've had at the River location. The Al Pastor tasted completely different--so much so that I honestly can't believe it's supposed to be the same recipe. If it isn't meant to be the same, I wish that was made clear because it was awful. The quality felt really low for the $65 bill. One taco had toppings, while the others barely had any--it looked like everything had just been sprinkled across the plate instead of prepared with care. I was honestly shocked that the meat tasted nothing like I was anticipating, and overall it felt sloppy and not worth the price. I'm really disappointed in this location. Going forward, I'll just make the extra effort to go to the River location, where the food has always been consistent and worth it. read more

This new-to-the-Eastside restaurant is roomy, bright, and clean, with plenty of seating indoors and out. You order at the counter, get your own beverage at the drink station, and they bring the food to the table when it's ready. There are a lot of options and their breakfast menu also looks good. I chose poc chuc chicken tacos with calabacitas and for an extra $3, a side salad, as my two sides. The salad was crisp and fresh, but the ranch dressing tasted quite vinegary. I asked for the tacos without the tortillas, and they were happy to accommodate my request. The meat and toppings were all delicious. The calabacitas seemed to be just zucchini and yellow squash, without much seasoning. Everyone was friendly. read more

Had heard about Seis Kitchen but had yet to try it. An Inkind coupon got us in there. The patio looked super fun but we visited during the heat of the afternoon so opted for an inside table. We were a bit unsure where to go as you pretty much walk right into the beverage bar upon entering. We figured out it was order at the counter. After searching a bit for the menu holder hidden on the wall we pursued the lengthy menu. We got the queso dip, birria burrito, three tacos (Al pastor, calabasitas and breaded fish) along with a strawberry house margarita. The staff were polite and friendly. The food came out very fast. The queso and the salsas were very good. Not quite enough chips though for a bowl of queso and two things of salsa. The burrito had cabbage in it which I wasn't expecting but it was rather good until I got to places where all it was was cabbage. The fish taco was delicious. The other two were good but don't sure I'd get them again. The margarita was wonderful. The side of rice was very crunchy and dried out and the black beans lacked flavor. We will be back to try out the patio, more margaritas and other item menus. read more

Seis has three locations. The one on Tanque Verde is new. The restaurant is large and open and very clean (even the bathrooms are immaculate). Lots of tables, a few highboys, and there is seating at the bar. Customers order at the register, receive a drinking glass to fill at the soft drink bar, and the food is delivered to the table, fast casual style. We arrived right at noon and the line to order was about ten minutes long. Menus are available in a wall box at the beginning of the line. As usual, my friend and I were torn between two dishes, so we did what we usually do and shared. Chips and two salsas were brought to the table. The red sauce was traditional and good; the green salsa was green-chile based, rather than tomatillo-based. Tomatillo is my personal preference. We got the crispy birria tacos and the surf and turf burrito. The tacos are street size and come with a choice of sides. I went with the cilantro rice; it was delicious and my favorite part of the meal. The birria was tasty, but the dipping sauce was not exciting. The surf and turf burrito was missing the surf element - shrimp. We did not realize until we were nearly done, so didn't say anything. My friend also had a gorgeous hot pink margarita that she proclaimed excellent. Seis is located in the La Playa center on Tanque Verde, with plenty of parking. I think Millie's Pancake House lived there for years, but the venue is new and fresh. read more

Since their opening, we've stopped by for breakfast and dinner - as with other locations, you order at the counter, grab your number, and food is brought out to you. The agua frescas are as refreshing as ever - our favorites are fhe the strawberry limon and cochata (horchata with cold brew for a caffeine kick). The breakfast burritos are huge. I had the El Padre which felt like it was filled with more potatoes than meat or eggs, but still flavorful. For dinner, my husband had the nachos (added birria) which were pretty good, and I chose the 2 taco plate (you can also opt for 3) of the puerco verde with a side of calabacitas - recommend if you're a fan of green chile, it's my favorite of the meats they offer. I had high hopes for Seis' new location, but my first visit was a bit of a disappointment. My book club has previously met at the River Road location, so we thought we'd give the new location a try. I called ahead to try to reserve a table for our large group, and was told that while none of the locations take reservations, they'd make a note of our name, size and arrival time and have tables pushed together and an area ready when we arrived. That wasn't the case when we arrived Saturday morning- there was no such note and there were no tables pushed together. Luckily, there was also only one other couple in the restaurant, so they were able to accommodate us, but it was disappointing that it hadn't been done ahead of time, as I'd been assured that it would. My watermelon cucumber agua fresca was perfect. Our food came out pretty quickly, but the eggs on my chilaquiles were overcooked (they were very over hard versus the over medium I'd requested) and the side of beans was also overcooked and cold. I was one of the last people to be served, so I didn't want to send it back and significantly hold up the group, and the waitress looked a bit frustrated after having to talk over our group in her efforts to get the right food to the right people in a group of 12 (she did great! I just didn't want to add to her workload.) While this wasn't the perfect visit, I understand that large groups are complicated, so I'll be sure to come back again with a smaller party. I'm not sure that it's a great option for future book club meetings, as we would have been out of luck if it had been busy (we were told it had been on most of the previous weekends) but we'll definitely keep it in mind. read more

I joined 3 friends here as one of them picked the spot. None of us had ever been here. It has kind of an odd setup. You sit down, look at the menu, then go up and order at the counter and pay. As usual these days, on the payment device, they ask for tips. I don't like to add a tip in the beginning because I don't know how everything will be. The staff member is looking at you and it's intimidating as if a tip is definitely expected. Self-serve drinks. They bring the food to you but you have already paid. We were served chips & salsa. Chips were good, but I don't like salsa and many other dishes that Mexican restaurants serve. There was not much on the menu that I like, so I opted for shrimp tacos on flour tortillas sans pico de gallo, onions or sauce. I also ordered a side salad. With only 2 dressing choices, Cilantro Lime or Chipotle Ranch, I chose the ranch on the side. I hate Cilantro and don't like Chipotle. The salad had field greens, tomatoes and I'm not sure what else. I ordered no onions (absolutely detest them) but they came on the salad. Red onions, very strong smell and flavor. When I told the server that I ordered no onions, she offered to remake the salad, which I declined. I picked off the pile of onions and the greens they touched. I ate the salad mostly dry and didn't finish it. Shrimp tacos were a disappointment. 2 small shrimp in 2 small tacos with cabbage, because I didn't like the other stuff that came on them. All of us ordered soft fountain drinks. The only thing that excited me was they had Coca Cola, not Pepsi. YAY! My friends seemed to like what they ordered, but I forgot what they had. It's been a month or so since we went. The staff was friendly enough, the dining room clean and at least we had real glasses for drinks and acceptable plates and utensils. If my memory serves me, it cost me over $30 for what little I had. I was still hungry when I left. I won't be back as it's not my style and too pricey for what ya get. Absolutely fabulous! Started with chips salsa and guacamole. LOVED the guacamole! Decent sized serving, lots of avocado, just like it should be, but rarely is. The prickly pear agua fresca was seasonal and about to be replaced. It was delicious, slightly tart and tangy just like prickly pear is, no overly sweet concoction just correct. Finally the surf and turf burtito was generously sized and full of char grilled meat and succulent shrimp. Overall a wonderful experience. A new favorite! read more

Highly recommend! This is now our go to place. My husband and I were there a few days ago. The food is fresh and always delicious. The restaurant is bright, well appointed with comfortable seating, including outdoor seating. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and courteous. Was a fan of Seis for years.. went for dinner last night.. very underwhelming.. my birria tacos had regular cheese in them.. my side had no flavor.. we used a lot of salt.. my friends burrito was FULL of cabbage and the meat was on one side of the burrito.. it's just not the Seis I remember.. it was so bad I don't wanna go back.. staff was nice.. and the restaurant was clean.. and cute.: but even the tables we so close together you couldn't move between them.. we felt like we were sitting so close to the people behind us.. just so disappointing read more

My husband and I ate here on Labor Day for lunch- They have a weird seating thing where you find your table number and sit there - ??? Hubby got el bandito- He gave 3.6/5 for flavor- its a bit spicy- meat flavor was tasty but he's not a fan of their specialty sauce (enchilada sauce) I got the crispy fish tacos and smashed beans. 4/5 Plentiful fish and tasty! Salsas are good nothing overly special but red has pineapple in it ( hubby liked). I just don't understand how this is supposed to be the same restaurant than the river location. Honestly I'm just shocked. I came here a couple of months ago and the quality was low. I defended Seis to my friends and my wife saying it must have been an off night, or the chef wasn't there or something. I convinced my wife to give it another chance tonight and oh man let's just say it was the same bad experience. To be fair the service isn't bad, and the ambience is fine. Well... this hurts... I love Seis, I really want to support them and really want them to do well.... That said... We have been several times-including right now, where I am writing this review. We ordered ONE QUESADILLA 40 minutes ago... we are still waiting... the way orders are taken is not efficient, there are staff standing around in the bar area, and others occasionally walking food out to a packed lobby-and not making eye contact or asking all the people waiting if they need anything, if the my have their food, etc-overall a lack of engagement that is really not going to serve them well going forward. If you asked for something you had to make it quick as they were walking by and the best response we got was "ok." The food is good-no doubt. Cocktails are good-no doubt. The setup is not efficient, nobody takes ownership of tables or patrons, there is no followup with how your meal is, etc Really pulling for them to improve!! read more

The queso dip is great, the chips and salsa are delicious, the al pastor tacos were to die for, the beans are super delicious, and the agua frescas are sooo good! I'm a longtime seis fan and frequent the Mercado and River locations. I had tried the Tanque Verde location once before and was disappointed but after receiving an email advertising their Memorial Day hours I brought my family there for an early dinner and we were the only patrons eating in the place. While the food was okay, we were stunned to watch the waitstaff repeatedly dip and lick the rims of the same glass over and over - or put a knife in the tajin and double dip. We know the service was slow but that's nasty. I didn't want to finish my margarita.... And we are not coming here ever again. The 1 star is for my fish taco which was good, but now I'm a little concerned about who might have licked it before I ate. read more

This is my first time at the new location and again it is a mixed bag of results and observations. First off, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Five stars for them as they are very nice to deal with. Secondly, I really wanted to enjoy many dishes so we ordered three tacos with sides (black beans and cilantro rice), guacamole, chicharrones, queso, and complimentary chips and salsa. The good: the missus enjoyed her shrimp tacos (and they were ample), her chicharrones, guac, rice and $6 margarita were all thoroughly enjoyed by her. The bad: my tacos were sparse in comparison and they were all indistinguishable in flavor and mild. The salsas were bland. The queso again was mild. I honestly don't get what I am supposed to be enjoying here when nothing stands out. There's no heat, no spice, and a lackluster attempt to fill my tortillas with product... what gives? After paying over $100 for the meal for two (plus tip) I left disappointed. The missus on the other hand was satisfied. The ambiance was fine in the dining room, but the men's bathroom was gross and needed to be cleaned. I don't know what awards you've won and how you can expand to a fourth location in Tucson, Seis, but I don't get it. There are so many amazing food experiences in Tucson, but in my humble opinion Seis is not one of them. read more

Stopped in for lunch yesterday. The guy taking orders at the counter was so friendly, and my food came out very fast. I was checked on multiple times during my visit by different people. The host was cleaning during down time which shows good leadership.
