    Sweet & Spicy Cauliflower
    Betsy L.

Sullivan's prices had made us hesitate to try it for a very long time, but we were given a gift card, so we decided to have a date night there. And... It was fine. The food was good, but nothing that wowed us. The service was also good, but again, nothing that stood out as special or a cut above any other sit-down restaurant. We started with Sweet & Spicy Cauliflower (fried cauliflower in a sweet and spicy chili sauce). My partner liked it; I thought it was under-sauced by a lot -- the cauliflower was dry and desperately needed the sauce both for flavor and to give it some moisture. For entrees, we got the Roasted Rack of Lamb and the Seared Sea Scallops, along with a side of brussels sprouts. Both the lamb and the scallops were expertly cooked and very tender. The entrees were solid, but both tasted slightly oversalted to me, though not by enough to ruin the dish. Every time I think on the meal, I keep coming to one conclusion: "It was alright, but for that very high price point, the meal should be truly excellent." In my opinion, the ambiance is rather bland. It's muted, with no real personality. It feels like a place you could go anywhere -- probably for a corporate event -- rather than rooted in a particular place, feeling, or style.

Stopped by yesterday (Saturday for lunch at around 1:30. Sat at the bar. Idk what was up but the service was like non existent. Waited for the bartender then finally ordered and about an hour later we were served our food in rounds. The food was great but again at that point we were starved. The place needs their bar stools re done. Bottom line if you want to drop $150 on lunch go somewhere else.

    Oysters Rockefeller - February 2026

We were visiting Tucson from Michigan and found Sullivan's had a on decent star rating so we thought we'd give it a go. We made reservations for Valentine's Day and obviously recognizing it would be a busier day than normal. First red flag for me was when we walk into a high-end steakhouse and the fake leather chairs are literally falling apart. Most the chairs had chunks of the faux leather missing from them, the state of disrepair was a shock based on the price point of the restaurant. While our waiter was friendly and accommodating, there were times that we did not see him for a while. We started with the rock oysters Rockefeller and the caviar deviled eggs. The oysters Rockefeller were good. However, the caviar deviled eggs were a wild disappointment. They were not even good deviled eggs with a sliver of an olive and then a little caviar. For the price point, a definite skip. Our server then let us know that we should place our order since the restaurant was getting busier and it would take a while. We had two children with us and they ordered off the children's menu, one got a kids burger that was huge and exceeded expectations, however, the other one got chicken fingers and they were very clearly Frozen pre-made, they tasted and looked like McDonald's chicken nuggets on the inside. For a high-end steakhouse, they could make their own chicken tenders for the price. The kids meals did come with two small scoops of ice cream. The entrees are where things really fell apart. Two of the five adults had to send their meals back because they were literally not warm and we descend back one of the family style side dishes because it was also not warm. Another of the adults got a steak but he chose not to send it back although it was not warm and also not cooked to his desired temperature. After the 8 oz filet was sent back, it was very good and warm. They put the lobster mashed potatoes under the broiler to heat them up. However, they kept the spoon in the dish and when they brought it back to the table the spoon was so hot. It was literally a lieability. The waiter had to remove it with a napkin because it was so hot. While the manager did come and apologize for the issues and offered us all a free dessert, the meals probably should have been comped based on the amount of money we were spending. Also, there were times when there were so many dishes or glasses on the table that were not being cleared that it got cluttered. At restaurants like this, there should be someone always removing the empties and clearing them. I'd also asked a food runner for an extra plate when they delivered the food and it was never brought over, I'd ask another employee. Again, understanding that this was Valentine's Day in a much busier than normal evening, it fell as if there was not enough staff on hand to accommodate the influx. While our waiter was good, the overall experience did not meet our expectations at all, especially for the amount of the bill. If you're visiting Tucson, I would not recommend this as a destination is. I think they're much better options that you could find in town that are local and not chain.

Went here on a Sunday night this time. The time between being seated and actually ordering our food was frustrating. It took our waiter a while to come to our table the first time and when he did, he just wanted to see what we wanted to drink. We were both ready to order our food, but then had to wait another 7 or 8 minutes for 1 drink to come back. Then things got a little better though. The food came back pretty quick. We got 1 filet mignon and 1 cowboy cut Ribeye. The filet mignon was great. The Ribeye was pretty good too, just a little too much fat on it. The prices here are pretty ridiculous. I mean the food is definitely good, but it's just not as classy of a place as it should be to be charging those prices.

his establishment undoubtedly ranks among the finest dining venues in Tucson. The ambiance is remarkable, enhanced by live musical performances. The culinary offerings were exquisite; we savored the charbroiled oysters, Caesar salad, filet mignon, and garlic shrimp. Each dish was exceptional, and the service was exemplary. I would highly recommend this location repeatedly.

Love their bar for great cocktails and bar bites. Met here with a friend and had a wonderful time. The sliders where a little off but the manager was so nice and switch the type on meat on the sliders. The cocktails here are exceptional. The bar is romantic, with great music and service.

I recently hosted a surprise birthday dinner and whiskey tasting at Sullivan's Steakhouse for my husband's 64th birthday and I cannot say enough about how phenomenal the experience was from start to finish. From the moment I reached out to inquire about their private dining rooms, I was met with warmth, professionalism, and a true sense of partnership. Jackie their regional sales and event manager was an absolute dream to work with responsive, detail oriented, and incredibly accommodating. We were lucky enough to secure the private Mafia room, which offered the perfect mix of intimacy, class, and ambience for our gathering of close friends. The evening kicked off with a beautifully curated whiskey tasting complete with tasty notes, light hors d'oeuvres, and a welcoming energy that set the tone for the night. The staff handled everything with ease and attentiveness. When the birthday guy walked in and saw a circle of friends waiting, his face lit up and he did not stop smiling all night. Dinner was exceptional: the prix fixe menu offered something for everyone, the pacing was on point. And every course arrived hot fresh and beautifully plated. By the end of the night my husband told me this was the best birthday he's ever had and I wholeheartedly agree. Sullivan's helped me create something truly unforgettable!

After a challenging week, a friend and I decided that we needed a little treat, in the form of fancy cocktails and steak dinner. Looking for classic instead of innovative, we headed to Sullivan's. It was pretty busy even for a Saturday, but we had a reservation and were seated promptly. The place hasn't changed since it opened- classic steakhouse look and feel. Service was a little awkward- the reservation was for two but we were sat at a table set for four, and it took quite a while for someone to clear away the extra places. Also a lot of fits and starts where the server was a bit overly attentive and then nowhere to be found. But the food was good. Started with deviled egg appetizer that was exactly as expected. Steak was exactly the right temperature and of good quality. We had several sides, but far and away the mushrooms were the best- seriously delicious. Overall, a lovely meal.

We had a large (11 people) family meal here. Luis was our server and did a fabulous job taking care of us. We tasted several appetizers; calamari, Wellington bites and cheeses take egg rolls. The calamari was by far my favorite but the other two were delicious. My husband shared a bit of his French Onion Soup, which was rich in flavor with plenty of cheese. I went with the pan seared Chilean Sea Bass and my husband opted for the angry shrimp and a baked potato for his meal. The sea bass was the best I've ever had. It was my first time trying bok choy and I loved it. The angry shrimp was very tasty. My boys shared a few bites of their desserts with me (key lime pie and peanut butter pie) they were both delicious but the peanut butter pie was my favorite. We had an amazing family dinner which we will remember for quite awhile. Thank you Luis and all the other staff for such a wonderful evening.

Review of Sullivan's Steakhouse My wife and I recently dined at Sullivan's to celebrate Valentine's Day a few days late due to both of us working that weekend. We had been looking forward to trying the restaurant for quite some time, especially since we do not get many opportunities for date nights. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations. Upon arrival, we were greeted without warmth or enthusiasm. While not a major issue on its own, it did not set a celebratory tone for the evening. The meal began on a positive note. The lobster shrimp soup was excellent and well executed. My wife ordered the Caesar salad, which, while flavorful, was presented in a way that required a fork and knife to eat -- somewhat unexpected for that dish. For our entrées, we ordered a 16 oz ribeye and a 12 oz New York strip, both medium temperature. My ribeye arrived blue rare and had to be sent back. I was asked by the server to cut into the steak to confirm the temperature, which felt unusual for a steak at this price point. A properly cooked $65 steak should arrive as ordered. When the steak returned, it was slightly more cooked but still closer to barely medium rare at best -- not medium. I requested a new steak. The same plate was brought back to the table, and I was informed that due to the cut of the steak, one side might overcook. After waiting again -- during which my wife finished her meal -- a third steak was delivered in under 10 minutes. Having nearly 16 years of experience in the restaurant industry and having cooked thousands of steaks, I understand proper cook times. A 16 oz ribeye cooked to medium generally requires 12-15 minutes, not including rest time. The timing alone was concerning. When I cut into it, it was once again undercooked. At that point, rather than prolong the situation further, I asked for the steak to be boxed so I could prepare it properly at home. What was particularly disappointing was overhearing comments from the open kitchen suggesting the steak had been cooked correctly. In a restaurant with an open layout, maintaining professionalism in communication is critical. A manager did visit the table and informed us the steak had been removed from the bill. However, there was no introduction or meaningful discussion about the issue. While I appreciate the adjustment, the lack of engagement or accountability was disappointing for a restaurant positioned as a high-end steakhouse. Additionally, the advertised portion sizes raised concerns. The menu lists the ribeye as 16 oz and the New York as 12 oz. Neither appeared to match those specifications. I weighed the ribeye at home (still very undercooked), and it was under 12 oz. While steaks do lose weight during cooking, a steak cooked to rare or medium rare would not reasonably lose four ounces. In my own career, I have handled many guest concerns and have always aimed to ensure the guest left feeling heard and valued. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We were hoping for a memorable and enjoyable evening. Instead, it was defined by repeated execution errors and a lack of professionalism. I sincerely hope management reviews both kitchen standards and guest recovery practices, as the concept and potential of the restaurant are there. At this time, we do not plan to return. Best regards.

Suffice to say she absolutely raved - placing it on par with many of the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants she has sampled back east. And, we agreed, when Michelin publishes its first-ever SouthWest U.S. edition later this year (2026) I recognize getting a star is a mighty fete but if Tito/Pep does not at least make its S.W. Bib list I will know the fix is in. We started with the Queso Fundido ($13) - with chewy cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and beef chorizo it was a perfect blend of meaty/savory/fatty. We also ordered the Grilled Octopus ($17). What a surprise this was, the crunchy roasted pepper flakes and unusually soft grilled octopus it kicked the pants off of "calamari-style." We inquired and the way they remove the typical rubberiness is by poaching the octopus tentacles for 5(!) hours before grilling. You Go chef Martinez! For our entree we opted for the day's special: deep fried whole Red Snapper for two ($85)... as did about a half-dozen other tables in this intimate 20-tabled venue. See pics as a written description is inadequate. The crisp was excellent and the tender moist fish just beneath, exquisite. The roasted jalapenos were other worldly - somehow only mild heat and with a subtle sweet/acid presence... totally and entirely edible. As fantastic as the vinegar slaw was atop our self-made fish tacos, the tomatillo puree was ridiculous - so fresh and not sour that its scent was nearly as strong as its flavor. We asked again, how?! and were told they first cook the tomatillos for 3 hours. Folks, the effort involved to present this kind of meal would be nearly impossible to do at home for even double the cost. We concluded with the ganache dessert ($12). While so richly decadent it was possibly too rich, only by virtue of its size... it needs to be shared! We were deeply torn over that or the olive oil cake and will opt for the latter... next year, Lol. For drinks we ordered two glasses of their "red blend" (really good for a simple blend) and then the Pie Allen after dinner cocktail ($13) - an interesting combination of prickly pear liquor and port. The staff were amazing - not just in timely attentiveness (a minimum requirement at this level) but especially in terms of being able to field our deep curiosities about several of the dishes. Due to our "layers" of ordering we stayed an easy 2+ hours and were never rushed. Parking will get tight at peak times but everyone will be accommodated. Pre-tip we were at $165 - a special occasion outing for sure but, we both agreed, an (almost) bargain. At this level of quality and degree of effort in Chicago or Miami (places she recently lived) would be closer to $250 for two. Small note: three years ago this began, now it's the norm - restaurants are calculating the tip based upon a total that's After the tax has been added. It's a minor but, nonetheless, unconsented-to, inflation of the tip. Just an fyi :)

The Cork also has a very extensive wine and cocktail menu that most of diners ordered from and were happy with their choices. Our waiter was wonderful. All of our orders were correct, which is a big job to accomplish with 18 diners in the same group. The dinners came in a timely manner, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The only issue was the Baby Back Ribs on the menu had a price of $35. However, when the check came $37 was charged for the item. When the diner pointed it out to the waiter, he stated he would fix it. Unfortunately, it did not get fixed. It went unnoticed until after we left the restaurant. Further although the reservations were made in August for this dinner, somehow our reservation was lost. Nonetheless the restaurant was very accommodating for our large group and our "lost" reservation was honored. It was a very good experience. I would highly recommend The Cork - Tucson.

Sadly, this restaurant has gone down since the last time we ate here a year ago. Every dish had too…read moremany sauces added. I understand the head chef has a French influence, but frankly it overwhelms the food and takes away from the freshness. I had the snapper since they didn't have the halibut. It seemed over cooked and then drenched in sauce with greens on top, also drenched in sauce. The saddest part was they sat us in the back room. Where they seemed to sit everyone coming into the restaurant. If the restaurant was packed I would understand but every other room was empty. Who wants to sit along the pathway to the bathroom? Service was so/so. Had to ask for drinks multiple times. But frankly the quality of the food was not worth the cost. Definitely will not be returning, until they revamp the menu to include less French style and more uniquely inspired fresh food. I mean if we wanted French we would have gone to Le Rendezvous or Wild Garlic which are top notch.

Visiting from San Diego and was looking for something other than fast food. Typically, I don't use…read moreGoogle for food options but that's where I found The Saddle. It's right next to the University of Arizona on university and I loved it so much, I came back three nights in a row. Call me a creature of habit, but when you're out of town and you find something excellent, it's worth going back. It definitely has more of a bar vibe than it does a restaurant, but the food I ordered was incredible. If you're hungry, don't look at my pictures. Lol. With that area of town being so crowded, I thought parking was going to be an issue, but I found a spot right near the front of the restaurant every time. I walked right in, ordered at the bar, and was in and out in less than 12 minutes every time. On top of it all, I had the same person helping me from behind the bar each time and she was incredible. Friendly, accommodating, and if I was the manager, she'd be getting a raise. Ask for Alyssa and you won't be disappointed. Needless to say, anytime I am in Tucson, Arizona, I no longer have to search for a restaurant that I like. I'll definitely be back. PS - When they saw me come in for the third night in a row, the chef blessed me with a free slice of raspberry pie. That's quality customer service right there. Love this place.

I ordered a Mango Cart beer on draft w/ Tajín and the pineapple pork tenderloin. The beer is my favorite so I knew what to expect there but the tenderloin was so well cooked and prepared. I was honestly shocked. It's not a dive bar by any means but I wasn't expecting the food to be so top notch. I ended up paying $20 for my meal but would have easily paid up to $30 at a different restaurant and it would have came out not being anywhere near as good as this!
