My family went here for my Mom's 80th birthday. The restaurant is situated on a beautiful golf course. We were seated right away upon arrival and a loaf of bread and our drink order arrived quickly. The restaurant is arranged nicely with enough distance between tables. The lights were lowered and the music was pleasant which presented the perfect atmosphere. Our waitress was amazing! She knew everything on the menu and took very good care of our table. I have to say...in my lifetime this was the best New York Steak I have ever had! It was cooked to perfection with a delicious flavor. The best! I tasted some of the other orders and can say the garlic mashed potatoes were bomb! The wine selection here is fantastic, and the service truly stood out. We mentioned to our server, that my husband loves Diet Coke and cookies for dessert even though it wasn't on the menu. What went well? EVERYTHING! Came here for a few reasons, 1) to spend time with family, 2) to spend time with said family trying out a restaurant that no one in our party had been to yet, and 3) to celebrate the birthday of someone in our party. We made Saturday dinner reservations through OpenTable and were met with a most welcoming greeting by Vee. We were taken great of by our server Bruno and the rest of the attentive staff. Loved that the centerpiece of our table was a jar of pickled cucumbers and peppers available for us to partake in along with our bread and butter. With that I indulged in a Chopin martini up with bleu cheese stuffed olives. Libations were enjoyed with our appetizer pick of tuna tartare (grade A tuna, sesame oil, Hawaiian sea salt, and Sriracha) - deliciousness! For my entree I went against the steak consensus at our table and ordered the special, halibut served Oscar style with mashed potatoes and asparagus. No "regerts" whatsoever, all very tasty and flavorful. Also went against pairing rules and shared a bottle of merlot from my favorite brand, Frog's Leap (although I would have ordered the cab except that birthday boy got to choose). To close out our meal we shared the complimentary birthday dessert, a very dense chocolate cake, the Nilla wafer-crusted key lime pie, refreshingly yummy, and a rich crème brûlée. Our experience met the high expectations of our extremely critical crew - an ex server, a curmudgeon-y carnivore, a guest who makes neophyte servers cry (Bruno is a grown man so I think he would have been ok either way), a weekend warrior Iron Chef type, a whole table of wine snobs save for the designated driver. Lit with distant views of the golf course, the dining room has an intimate feel with high-backed chairs, rich cellar-like wood decor, acoustics that allow you to hear your table's conversations. Acoustics is a critical point for me because if voices are bouncing all over the restaurant and you can only hear that one dude who is not even sitting next to you, forget it. I said that the staff was attentive but not helicoptering. All of us would return here again for a special occasion. We go to Bobs all the time in Texas. Stayed at Omni and thought we would give it a try. There was hair in our calamari then when we got our steaks, the was another hair on the plate different color hair. Also no one ever shied up to top our potatoes. Bruce the bartender was great, but for a high end steak house in a high end resort this was a horrible experience. There should NEVER be hair in any food item let alone all of it! read more

I really wanted to like this place, I read the reviews and mostly they're very good. It was a special night and my wife and I went to celebrate. We arrived early so we had a drink at the bar, excellent drink. There was a lady beside me who had ordered the surf and turf and it looked awesome. So I felt that would be my meal. My wife had the tuna tartare and I had thick bacon to start. I blame myself for asking for it "a little" crispy. Her tartare was actually poke and not tartare and my bacon was well overcooked. For our mains she ordered duck breast (medium) and I ordered surf and turf (medium rare). I guess they had some issues with the meals as they brought us a bowl of lobster bisque each because it was taking so long. The bisque was delicious. When the meals came we were both disappointed. Hers was bland and was very light in the cherry sauce and her potatoes were substandard at best. My meal was not 2 3oz filets and a 6 oz lobster tail but more of 1 4 or 5 oz filet and a 4 oz lobster tail, (see pics). My potatoes were good. I could have forgiven this but the steak had a very strong chemical taste, like when you grill on charcoal and use fluid but put meat on too soon. Perhaps they used a butane torch to sear my steak? I don't know but I do know it wasn't anywhere near the best steak in town. Desert was very good. The only reason this is a 3 star and not less is the staff. They were excellent. The place itself is a nice place and comfortable seating and you didn't have to speak loud to be heard. I can understand why some give this place high marks because the lady's meal looked awesome, just like a picture they'd use to advertise. Mine wasn't good, lobster was about 1/2 the size of hers. The GM, a very nice lady, bragged this was the best steak house around but I've been to Flemings, The Keg, and others and this didn't come close to the level of expectation you have for a $100 steak. read more

Absolutely flawless dinner. Do not skip this restaurant! I got the Prime Ribeye and it was the best steak I've had in the last ten years. Mom got the rack of lamb, cut lollipop style, and she said it was the best in her life. My wife got the halibut special, Oscar-style, and it was "fabulous, wonderful, and killer." No problem eating gluten free, just skip the gravy on the steak. The cream spinach and the cream corn are both gluten-free. Mom got the Upshot white wine, which she was thrilled with. Very balanced. Dinner was the same price as a meal at Flemings in the Bay Area, and we considered this meal superior to both Flemings and Mastro's. My husband and I started going to Bob's a little over a half a year ago, and never have been disappointed with the food or service. However, our last visit was the most memorable thanks to Kathleen. We ordered the usual amazing fried shrimp and rib eye steak entrees, but this time, Kathleen made the meal extra special by making suggestions like having the sauces on the side. She even split a martini for us in two when we decided that we shouldn't have one more each! The portions are so generous at Bob's and when we decided to take the rest of our meals to go, Kathleen even sent us off with some bread, butter and sauces to compliment our leftovers. Overall, Kathleen made this experience the best we've had at Bob's due to her lovely demeanor and complete consideration for making sure they have a wonderful experience. I wanted to take my girlfriend out to dinner and was met with disappointment after disappointment. I was left to wait 15 minutes for our server, Bruno to arrive. When Bruno finally arrived his demeanor came off as unprofessional and inattentive, like we were more of a burden than guests. Bruno seemed insanely rushed, this set an awful tone for our dinner. My girlfriend and I tried to make the most of it, however this didnt last long. I would ask for simple requests and was met with an insanely long wait before he came to bring them. Then after all was said and done, we got our check, paid, but had to wait another 15 minutes for Bruno to come and bring me my card back. Im insanely disappointed with Bruno. While waiting for our dining mates, we enjoyed drinks and sports talk with the bartender (great guy) in the small, intimate bar area. After being seated in the dining area, dinner was served. My Bleu Cheese Salad and 9 oz. Prime Filet Mignon were excellent and my dining mates enjoyed their Lobster Bisque, Maryland-Style Crab Cakes, Broiled Verlasso Salmon; and we all thoroughly enjoyed the shared Key Lime Pie. The name of this upscale steakhouse chain may not be the most interesting or appealing, but don't be fooled because this restaurant is excellent! From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food, this place is on its A game. My parents and I dined here on a Saturday evening. We were taken to a lovely table in the intimate dining room. Not a super big place, but I like that--it added to the upscale feeling. We made reservations but not sure if they were necessary since it wasn't extraordinarily busy. We were immediately attended to, once seated; our waters were filled instantly and warm bread with butter was brought from the kitchen. Drink orders were taken after a few minutes perusing the options. I went with the Pinot Grigio and a generously filled large glass was given to me. Nice! On all of the tables are glass containers filled with picked cucumbers and peppers. Our server explained this is a great way to cleanse the palette or just a nice little bite before dinner. I had a pickled cucumber and it was delicious. Very unique detail--I've never seen this at a restaurant before. We started with the jumbo shrimp appetizer and oh my gosh! I have never seen shrimp so big! It was amazing, my favorite being the shrimp cocktail and their cocktail sauce was bomb. For my main, I got the crab cakes, and again so good! The honey mustard was excellent and paired perfectly with the cakes. This place is is known for their giant cooked carrot side offering, which looks a little funny on the plate, but tastes delicious. I also went with the smashed potatoes and those too were excellent. For dessert we shared a creme brûlée--it's my favorite dessert of all time-- and it did not disappoint. The service was top notch; our server took excellent care of us and the manager also made sure we had a wonderful dining experience. What a lovely way to enjoy an amazing quality steak dinner, in a coronavirus careful way! We were able to make reservations via Open Table which was nice and we normally do not venture this far west from our home in Vail but we wanted a nice dinner and we wanted steak. Located in a beautiful area on the west side, sitting at the edge of a golf course we were immediately impressed with Bob's and the protocols they had in place during the pandemic. Tables well spaced apart, and servers wearing masks the ambiance was that of a quality top notch steak house. There were four of us, we opted for indoor seating but they did appear to have outdoor seating as well. We started with the calamari and onion rings (half order). WOW. I am a die hard onion ring fanatic and these were so good. I am not a calamari fan like the rest of the table but I did try a piece or two and was shocked at how tasty and delicious it was. Just the right amount of seasoning in the light coating. We all had steaks, 2 of us had the 9 oz filet, 1 the NY strip and 1 the rib eye. All were cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth. The carrot was divine and the potatoes heavenly. I went with the smashed potatoes but tried the skillet potatoes which were incredibly delicious. While we all had enough food left over for another meal and asked for some boxes, we went with our server Jessica's recommendation of the carrot cake. It was so good (she told us a bakery makes all of their desserts), and we took almost the whole thing home as it was gargantuan. When we attempted to slice it, the crumbs flew all over the table. The food was so mediocre & forgettable. The cocktails were good , the service was friendly, & the steaks were tasty, but what about the huge carrot & tasteless mashed potatoes. Would this be the Texan style? We chuckled.
