Catfish, shrimps, hush puppies, fries, calamari - all perfectly fried.

The food truck came to our little town and boyee! were we happy! I had just been bitching about missing good catfish and they had it on the menu ~ fresh, piping hot, lightly spicy, perfectly cooked fish, not greasy one little bit. Served in generous portions and down home flavor. It came with fries & assortment of fried shrimp & calamari with a couple hush puppies to boot. It was taaaaasty! At the last second we added an order of beignets, was not a mistake, they were fluffy, tender...just EVERYTHING. Check the pics ~ tastes as good as it looks. Nice folks, too!

I heard good things about Off the Hook Seafood and had the chance to give them a try while listening to music in Button Brew House's "backyard." The menu was full of reasonably-priced seafood-comfort food. Fried scallops, shrimp, oysters, fish, and/or chicken tenders with fries or onion rings plus hush puppies and slaw. But, lobster mac in Tucson? Yes, please! After I paid, I was prepared to wait near the trailer, but they said that I should go enjoy the music - they'd find me. Nice! After just a few minutes, I received my small deli-sized container of dinner. Don't let the size fool you. The dish was full of chunky lobster pieces, smooth cheese that neither overpowered the seafood nor tasted fake, and just enough bacon to provide seasoning. It was positively delicious and so filling that I had to share some bites with my friend. I will be following Off the Hook on Facebook so I can take my partner to enjoy their yummy food. This seafood in the desert is a keeper.

    Fried shrimp and oysters

Amazing fresh seafood and portions so generous that I couldn't close the lid of my to go box! The shrimp/oyster combo came with fries and onion rings (I think they were out of hush puppies) and coleslaw. $19- a deal!!! Cooked to order so plan on a 15 minute wait. It's totally worth it!

I'd seen this advertised on Facebook for a long time, but finally got to try it. I'm never sure where the food truck will be, but this time I saw that it was near us. We got the platter with shrimp, calamari, and fish fillets. It came with onion rings or fries, hush puppies, and supposed to be coleslaw. We got a device that buzzed when our order was ready and it took about 15 minutes. We checked our order before leaving and noticed there wasn't any coleslaw. I guess they were out, but then they substituted a large container of potato salad instead. Everything is fried, so it may not be the healthiest food, but it tasted good! The batter they used was nicely spiced, and wasn't real thick. We liked everything but the calamari, which was tough. The fillet was moist, the shrimp cooked just right, the onion rings crisp, and hush puppies flavorful. The guys taking our order were very friendly and made us feel welcome. It was fun trying out this food truck.

I finally had a chance to eat from Off The Hook. It is totally worth the wait. I had a shrimp po'boy. It was loaded with crunchy and tender fried shrimp, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and sauce. The bread was soft and perfect. I truly look forward to trying more of their menu!

I think so…read more La Palma may be the closest experience in Tucson to the Baja fish tacos I could find throughout Southern California. Their big white food trailer is topped with a large blue tarp that shades a comfortable seating area. The location is kiddy corner from a gleaming white church at the opposite side of the intersection. In a short time, La Palma has become my go-to for fish tacos because the quality is consistent and they know how to dress the tacos with the right combination of flavors. Additionally, they make a mean horchata that compliments the meal perfectly. I'm probably in the wrong crowds because I have not heard other people mention La Palma while praising quite lesser places. I don't get it. All I can say is that for those SoCal folks who are passing through Tucson and are hankering for good fish tacos, pull up to La Palma and be overjoyed. P.S. The folks here are very nice and welcoming.

Service...superb, always feel welcomed, helpful and accomodating. 5 stars Food...interesting...some that i have had is stellar, some not. The breading on the fried shrimps is excessive, in my opinion. Just had the grilled fish quesedilla, and it was outstanding...cheese, garlicky, lots of fish..will have again...but I didn't care for the fish tacos. The cooked shrimp tostada is a winner 4 stars.

My mom is Italian, so I knew she would really enjoy dining here. The place was clean and the servers were friendly. In October we had the Penne Positano (Penne pasta tossed in a creamy tomato sauce with spicy Italian sausage) and the Spaghetti Puttanesca (Spaghetti pasta tossed with kalamata olives, capers, anchovies, and garlic in a tomato sauce). It was amazing. We kept talking about how great the meal was during the entire ride home back to Sahuarita. I also enjoyed my pumpkin martini. A few days before Christmas we had the Penne Mango (Penne pasta tossed with grilled chicken breast, onions, garlic, spinach, and diced mangos in a sweet and sour cream sauce topped with feta cheese), the Spaghetti Scoglio (Spaghetti pasta, mussels, clams, tiger prawns, and scallops in a zesty tomato sauce), and the Penne Positano (Penne pasta tossed in a creamy tomato sauce with spicy Italian sausage). Everything was exceptional including the tiramisu. Thanks for helping to make my mom's birthday special! Perche No is in my top five places to have dinner in Tucson and it has my highest recommendation. The place is cozy and reminds me of a restaurant one may come across on K Street in Sacramento. I highly recommend making a reservation.

It is downtown so parking is not great, but they do have meters directly in front of the restaurant. We ordered the bruschetta and carpaccio appetizer . I will start by saying the presentation of all of the food we ordered that night was amazing. I really like that the bruschetta bread had a softness to it and wasn't super crunchy like bruschetta I've had in the past at other places. Despite these two appetizers having different flavor profiles, I did feel that the tastes were kind of similar. Both were cool to to try, but I don't think I would order them again. For entrées, we ordered the penne, mango pasta, and the short rib tortellaci. Both of these dishes were adventurous for us but we wanted to try something different! Both dishes I felt were fresh, allowing you to taste all of the distinct flavors of the dish. My husband couldn't appreciate the penne mango pasta initially, but he did say grew on him. I liked the dish, and upon tasting it, I realized I'd never had butternut squash, which had a soft and subtle sweetness to it. It's a very unique dish, and one I think is worth trying... if you have an open mind! The short rib dish was okay to me, I had a little too many mushrooms for my liking. I also feel that for $27 the portion could be greater. These dishes are not heavy with salt, but I believe it's intentional, so I would suggest really look at the ingredients of the dishes to serve you like what's in it. Overall, a good restaurant with Italian dishes I don't see every day . I'd like to go back and try more of the menu!

The crab was spot on -- easy to crack open, and the meat came out full and clean without having to fight with the shell. That's a huge sign of perfectly cooked crab. The shrimp was also cooked just right, tender and flavorful, not overdone at all. The sauce was incredible and tied everything together perfectly. Every bite had bold flavor, and even the sides soaked up the seasoning really well. Overall, this was one of the best seafood boil experiences we've had in Tucson.
