The food is very mediocre here, the noodles are ok. Small servings for a lot of $$ about $12 for a small bowl of ramen that will not keep you full. If you want good ramen go to Raijin Ramen.

I've heard great things about the Fat Noodle food truck. I'm moving out of Tucson and my friends had a going away dinner for me here at the restaurant since it was new and opened 4 days ago. I'm sad to say I was very disappointed. I got the FN ramen since ALL the sushi/fish options were unavailable. The ramen was flavorless. The noodles and soup were bland and the portion was small. My friend got the spicy ramen and said it was spicy but flavorless. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Tucson finally has a legit source for authentic, well-made Ramen soup - on 4 wheels! If all you've ever known "ramen" to be is a prepackaged styrofoam container stuffed with dried noodles for starving college students, then you're in for a REVELATION. I've been dying for Tucson to have a legit source for Ramen, as I've been spoiled with wonderful Ramen houses in Japan and San Francisco. I am delighted to say that my favorite Japanese comfort food has finally arrived at the Old Pueblo. Gonzalez has spent many months perfecting his recipe before launching the food truck a couple months ago, and I must say it was well worth the wait - he's done a fantastic job with his recipe! Warm pork-broth that's been slow cooked for 12 hours, with the right balance of oils, hand-made Ramen noodles from locally sourced flour, a plethora of locally sourced vegetables, a couple slices of tender pork cutlet, and topped with a hard-boiled egg. It's an absolute delight. Track these guys on Facebook and Twitter to find where they're setup for the day, and go see what REAL Ramen tastes like!

    Yummy ramen!

We ate here when they were on location for the art and craft festival at the Museum of Art. They were pretty accommodating to my picky daughter when making here ramen. She got just noodles, mushrooms and broth and it was spectacular! The broth is amazing and makes the whole dish come together. I am all for small businesses and food trucks but I do not like their prices and I say their's because most food trucks are way to over priced. This one was no different. As yummy as it was the prices are just too high.

Fat noodle came to my place of work during lunch and I ordered the house ramen. For 10 bucks it was not worth it. Maybe for 8 because there are better ramen for cheaper. The 520 egg in the ramen was spot on. I haven't seen a restaurant around town who does a soft boiled egg. The closest is obon with their poached egg. Broth had a ginger, soy sauce, and mushroom flavor to it. Was not bad. Noodles tasted more like pasta to me than ramen and was on the harder starchier side. Not a very good pair with the broth but would see it go well with the stir fry.

Absolutely delicious! A definite must try! Pre order the burgers if your short on time! They do go fast!

The spicy ramen. The lighting in this photo is awful, but the ramen is super good!

Not that great. The fried shrimp was good but we didn't like the pork. It was chewy. Could use fountain drinks instead of bottle.

It's not going to be the best you ever had in your life, and if you've been to Southern China, you're not going to be blown away. HOWEVER, it is the homemade taste that makes it good. It doesn't feel like any other restaurant, it feels like you are at somebody's house. Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. Even better, the menu is laid out in a way that it is easy to understand: gluten-free options, allergies, and spice level. The service was great. All though it isn't a "full" sit-down restaurant, everybody there seemed to know the menu well and was happy to be there. As a Cantonese person, it was nice hearing my language being spoken in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and very modern. We came during early dinner time so the parking lot was near empty and easy to park. Overall, if you've never had Southern Chinese food or are looking for something more authentic than classic Chinese takeaway, definitely check out this location. The cherry on top are the big portion sizes and the price.

We arrived around 2:15 and staff was making it super clear to everyone that they closed at 3 so we needed to be out by then. Mentioning this not as a complaint at all because these folks work hard and closing time is closing time so I can respect that, but if you happen to arrive here less than an hour before closing time, your only options will be take away or eating outside at one of their tables. The Guilin Spicy & Sour was super hearty and the leftovers the following day were absolutely delicious. I really enjoy spicy dishes but in order to really appreciate all the flavors of the ingredients, I'd try the regular Guilin next time or see if the heat could be dialed back just a bit. Overall an 8/10. The Taiwan beef was a big hit too. That beef was so soft, it would just melt in my mouth. The veggies were cooked but still crisp, and those noodles were perfection; thick, not mushy at all, super tasty. And the next day it was even better! Mon-Thurs there's also a $1 drink (only certain drinks ) with any entrée special so we got a chance to taste the honey lemonade (tastes exactly like it sounds) and the iced milk latte (a bit too sweet but good).

Promptly seated, drinks brought out, order taken and food delivered fast, hot and correct. The background music was some chinese music tv station playing modern easy listening tunes and, along with the comfortable chairs and solid table made for a relaxing environment. The food? meh. You can see our order in the latest photo and how expensive it was. the Lo Mein was mostly tasteless and certainly lacking in thast "lo mein flavor." Although the meat was tender, the sauce was just a sticky brown sauce. Surprisingly, the Spicy Pickle Tofu was essentially the same sticky brown sauce as the Lo Mein but with some fried tofu in it and without the noodles but nothing otherwise remarkable. You can tell by looking at my earlier picture attached. The old picture shows a bright and colorful plate. The dish today was a dark brown (you could hardly see the tofu from the beef) as everything was just dark. Eggplant seemed to have a similar brown sauce as well but the eggplant was otherwise tasteless. Nothing popped. Chicken bites were bland and not at all crunchy. Just fried to soft texture but no real flavor. According to our server, the menu was just recently updated about a month ago. We noticed because one of our favorites was the Fried Taro Pie which is now gone from the menu and the server said yes, that's right.
