Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen
Chrissie S.

I can't say enough about this place. It's one of my top picks. I love the spicy tonkatsu ramen, the gyoza, fried chicken, and waffle fries. Just writing this is making me want to go back. The girl up front is really nice and sweet. The place itself has lo-fi playing and is just a nice chill place.

I love their chicken!! The ramen is great as the weather gets colder, the chicken dishes are yummy, and it's an underrated space for small group events

Tonkatsu ramen I have been ordering each time I go to a new place ramen shop, just testing the menu n soup base, plus other ingredients... The ChaSu pork were grilled very tasty n delicious!!! And the Tamagotchi - egg was cooked very flavorful and delicious too!!! The weakness were on noodles and soup base.... Ramen went Al Dente at all, maybe the quality of noodles were not too great?! Soup base weren't any flavor from pork bones or chicken base at all, just tasting MSG... Services was great even it's a counter desk ordering, Ramen will be brought down by servers... typical Japanese style services and a classic Japanese decor of designing.... If the soup base n ramen quality improve, I would give out Five Stars!!

This was a great find!! A very affordable bowl of ramen and the fried chicken. The restaurant is covered in fun anime things. The food came out quick, and the salt and pepper chicken was a great flavor combo. My one big things is there should have chili oil on the tables.

This is a fairly new place and similar to the original spot about 20 minutes away from it, serving the same food. However, this place is much bigger inside and allows better accommodations for eating in person versus the original location which caters to more take out service, as it includes a drive thru. This location does not have a drive thru. The service is minimal as you order everything at the counter. But the food is the star. Amazingly delicious ramen! I had the Shoyu Ramen and my friend had the Tonkotsu Ramen with a thinner noodle and chili oil on the side. Both soups were very flavorful and some of the best ramen I have had in Tucson. The other part of their menu is fried chicken. While I haven't tried it I hear great things and I'll probably try it next time. They do offer a fried chicken ramen to combine both menus. I'll definitely be back to try other menu options!

It's been a couple of years since I visited Toss Ramen at their original Alvernon location, where I loved their ramen and Japanese karaage (fried chicken). I was thrilled to see their success has led to a second location at Campbell and Ft. Lowell. I visited with friends and ordered my favorite, Tonkotsu ramen. While the menu lists it with straight noodles, I prefer curly al dente noodles, and the staff was kind enough to accommodate my request--such a thoughtful touch! The ramen was perfectly cooked, with a rich and savory pork broth that was incredibly comforting. My friend had the fried chicken sandwich, which featured a massive, mouthwatering patty, and we all shared the wings. The wings had a perfectly crunchy batter on the outside and were tender and juicy inside. What truly stood out, though, was the service. The person who took our order was so welcoming and helpful, making the whole experience even better. I can't wait to come back and try some of their unique ramen options. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly greeted by the cashier/server. After ordering, our food was promptly delivered to our table. We ordered a bowl of tonkotsu ramen and some wings (styled with American buffalo). The spicy tonkotsu was good with a rich broth, chewy noodles, and a pretty good chashu pork. Nothing super amazing, but definitely worth your buck. I couldn't taste the spice at all, but luckily they provide extra chili oil for some more kick! The American buffalo wings were advertised to have an Asian twist, but the flavor just wasn't there. It was just buffalo wings through and through, but the fry was pretty good. I'd love to come again to try the other flavors! The restaurant theme is also pretty cute, decorated with a ton of different anime posters and characters. There are portraits of different mangaka beside the tables so you can eat with your heroes!

This is only my second review that I've made in such a long time but I had to make it because I've been SEARCHING all around town for a ramen shop that really puts a lot of time and passion/pride into building a gloriously rich tonkatsu broth and this place has it!!! A velvety broth that is rich with tons of flavor but not feeling too heavy or oily... and a shaker of the togarashi spice... that is what I was hoping for and that is exactly what I got. A perfect marinated soft boiled egg half and excellently prepared chashu pork belly that were in the ramen were also a big deal to find, so that was another big win here. My partner got the desert ramen, a spicy version of shoyu ramen with chicken stock and fried chicken pieces, which was much spicier than he expected but worth it. We also ordered some fruit teas and those were fantastic. Overall we loved our dine in experience. Order at the front/sit down, great staff, very clean and open space with some happy plants, and comfort food that doesn't leave you feeling weighed down. My only wish was that there were more choices for additional veggies/toppings in the ramen but honestly, it's just a preference and the rest was so good that it's not something that I think changes my view on the quality of the ramen here. Can't wait to come back and try the chicken too.

I was craving ramen and came across this place. Interesting wall art, anime-themed wall pieces. There is no table service. The place is pretty open, a good hang-out spot. I ordered miso ramen; they give you a lot! And garlic parmesan chicken wings. Both were good! Their wings are pretty big. My ramen was a little salty. They have a condiments and to-go boxes area, which I think is a good idea. Oftentimes you have to ask for them.

Stop by to this newly open location. Easy to get parking. The staff greeted us nicely. The food is as good as the other location. But this place is for sure much better in terms of sittings & parking. If you like spicy, for ramen, try dessert ramen, for chicken try the honey Sriracha. It's very recommended for anime lover.

I was jonesing for ramen & I happen to drive by this place so I had to stop in. I ordered their fried chicken ramen. It hit the spot.

Bao and I decided to get some ramen after the gym and saw this unique pairing of fried chicken and ramen near his apartment. Upon entering, Bao was enchanted by the anime decorations in the front and kept pointing out how cool it was. The atmosphere was relaxed, with lofi music playing in the back and plenty of seating. As for the food itself, it honestly wasn't our personal favorite in terms of quality and value, but we'd still recommend anyone to try this for themselves!

I can't tell you how happy I am to have Toss within 5 minutes from my house. All the great food as the other location but plenty of room to sit. I just had the chicken ramen and it was amazing!!!! I've had other things on the menu but I love me some fried chicken. I'm going to keep going back again and again!!!

The red miso definitely satisfied my spicy tastes if you are the type of person who can eat a bag of hot Cheetos without blinking you'll be fine but if you're sensitive to spice you might want to skip that option. On the menu they do have chili peppers next to the items to indicate the spice level. The portions are BIG and definitely worth it. They come in the cutest bowels and have an excellent packing system of the broth is separate from the noodles and other items if you're getting it to go. The actual restaurant is quirky for sure with Easter eggs hidden and anime and Pokémon around the restaurant. This is DEFINITELY better than Obon and Raijen hands down. This is my new favorite ramen spot!

It doesn't feel like any other restaurant, it feels like you are at somebody's house. Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. Even better, the menu is laid out in a way that it is easy to understand: gluten-free options, allergies, and spice level. The service was great. All though it isn't a "full" sit-down restaurant, everybody there seemed to know the menu well and was happy to be there. As a Cantonese person, it was nice hearing my language being spoken in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and very modern. Overall, if you've never had Southern Chinese food or are looking for something more authentic than classic Chinese takeaway, definitely check out this location. I'm not an expert on how they're made, but I did notice pieces of octopus inside, and wow so good. The sauce on top is an explosion of flavor: rich, savory, slightly sweet, and totally addictive. I could eat these every time and never get bored. Next, we built our own Tachi burrito bowl and this is where Taichi really shines. The customization options are next-level. The variety alone deserves applause. And then... the sauces. This is where you can really get creative. Spicy mayo, poke sauce, chili hot sauce, eel sauce, mango sauce, ponzu, Thai sweet chili, Thousand Island, wasabi the list goes on. We went with spicy tuna, salmon, and spicy salmon, and let me tell you fresh, flavorful, perfectly balanced. Every bite worked.
